In today's fast paced educational world where changes affect everyone from children to parents to teachers themselves, a resource such as this is a wonderful help.

Early in the book the authors made their case about the effectiveness of school coaching from research studies.

This is a must read for all educators who want to be on the top of their game in promoting high achievement within their student body.

There is some great information in this book. It was clear and thorough, and I'm very glad the people making coaching decisions in my district are reading it. But since it's geared toward a more administrative perspective, it wasn't my favorite book on coaching.

Read this book if you are an administrator contemplating the implementation of instructional coaching or trying to improve your program; if you are a coach who is seeking to advocate for the conditions and resources that lead to successful coaching programs,\; or if you are an outside consultant working to improve contracting and understandings around how coaching really works. This is a comprehensive resource on the what's, how's, and must's of coaching. I especially appreciated the emphasis on the active learning roles for principals, ongoing professional development necessary for coaches, and action steps for implementation. Brilliant reflection tools, implementation steps, and evaluation considerations.
