When Cate arrives at Barnard College, the prestigious women’s school in Manhattan, she’s trusting, innocent, and maybe a bit too naïve. But she’s determined to use these four years to figure out who in the world she’s meant to be. At a school where she’s lectured not to identify herself by her gender, Cate is shocked by her own attraction to her very oppositely gendered professor. Alex is sexy and mysterious, having survived a recent tragedy. In fact, his presence on campus causes such a stir that soon Cate finds herself competing for his attentions with both another professor and a girl who may be her best friend or her worst enemy. But Cate and Alex’s connection is undeniable. It proves to be stronger than the rumors, backstabbing, and scandal that soon begin to swirl. But first it must be tested…

It started out good and sounded very interesting. But wait continued I grew to have no respect for any of the characters. Which is very rare for me with any book.
Cate - She started out kinda prudish then slowly but surely turned into a snobby b***h! Who thought she was better then anyone. Throughout the whole book it was like "poor pitiful me". She was suppose to be this strong independent woman. When in all reality she was nothing more then a naive follower. She easy to manipulate.
Ani - She was just a stuck up rich society snob. Who also wanted you to fell sorry for her while nothing ever went her way. She thought it was fun and games to mess with people's relationships. But yet when she had one of her own she was slowly isolating her GF from everyone. She felt jealously over everyone, she was just one of those people you know will never be happy no matter what.
Alex - I started out feeling bad for him and even had respect for him. But it sooner disappeared the moment he said "I was weak and I missed you". Sorry but no, if your man enough to cheat then be man enough to own up your actions. Don't try to make the person your dating feel sorry for you so they'll take you back.
Overall I didn't like the story or characters. I'm not saying you won't it just wasn't my cup of tea.
This is one hot story! This book is filled with sex, money, and drama. It defiantly keeps the first year in collage interesting! Cate is older beyond her years in her attitude and ideas. However, she is also a wonderful mix trusting and innocent as well. I found her to be charming if anything a bit too naive. There were plenty of time where I wanted to shake her and yell for her to open her eyes!
Ani and her best friend Skylar are up to no good and drama and trouble seem to follow in waves. I do wonder if Professor Solano could of avoided all the problems that Cate experienced her first year if he inquired more with Cate about the two term papers turned in and Ani’s paper that was similar to Cate’s.
Overall, this was enjoyable book. I hope for a sequel because with such drama in Cate’s first year in collage I can’t wait to read about her second year.
