Dash Dagger has no idea that his future is about to collide with his past.

He’s in the midst of putting together Tracker Team when he discovers that the father of his ex-
lover has been murdered and his daughters are next on the kill list. The woman who stole his
heart and destroyed his life is at the top of the list. Even though he’s the last person on earth she
wants to see, he has to protect her.

Thena Astor is a woman under siege.

She’s just buried her billionaire father. The Astor’s empire is under attack. Her sisters have
vanished. The scion she’s dating is pushing her to get married. If all of that is not enough to
break an already broken gal, her ex-lover, the only man she’s ever loved, the warrior she holds
responsible for her brother’s death, shows up to contest her inheritance. Dash Dagger smashes
into her world like a wrecking ball, challenging everything she knew about her father, his
fortune, and her family.

It’s a race against time.

Dash has learned Thena’s father was murdered. He’s engaged in a frantic race to unravel a plot to
eliminate the Astor family. The mysterious enemy responsible for killing the patriarch is now
stalking Thena and her sisters. To defend the women and protect Thena, Dash will put his life on
the line.

But can Thena forgive him long enough to join forces, find her sisters, and unmask the
predator hunting the Astor women before the entire family is wiped off the face of the earth?

This was another rollercoaster ride of nerve-wracking situations, twists and turns that had me ignoring everything but the world of Dash and Thena. Five stars isn't even close to high enough to express my delight in this story, but it's all I've got!! 😉

By book eleven in this series (Alpha Heroes), you might believe that the Battle Brothers and Elite teams wouldn't have many surprises for you, but you'd be wrong. Coming off of the bombshell of Trev, I was excited to spend more time with these characters. I need answers!!

Dash has a compelling and engaging backstory that kept me flipping pages, falling deeper and deeper into this dangerous world. As is the case with every Team member, his mission is his only thought, and absolutely nothing will stop him from achieving his objective. And - believe me - SO many things try!!

Athena is not at all prepared for Dash's return into her life, and their history (both good and bad) makes for a prickly reunion. The chemistry between these two is steamy, and addictive. I really enjoyed her inner strength and the way she handled her difficulties. She certainly put Dash in the 'difficulties' category (and treats him as such - which was entertaining), until she couldn't anymore.

This author consistently provides gripping and emotionally compelling storylines that keep me on the edge of my seat, eagerly awaiting the Team's response to the next danger uncovered. I love the banter and connections between the characters, and knowing the history of the group made this read, for me, even better.

I need a re-read of this series ASAP. Obviously, I recommend this author, book, and series. IMO, you need these characters in your life. Read in order for the best experience and to avoid spoilers. I really can't wait for the next one!!

Looking for a steamy, second chance, action-packed, edge of your seat romance? If so, this is it. Anna del Mar's eleventh Alpha Heroes novel, Dash, is all that and more. It's a 5-star rollercoaster of a read all the way from its beginning to its cliffhanger ending.

First, the triggers--open door sex, emotional manipulation, torture, violence, and survivor guilt. If any of these are triggers for you, this is not the series for you. Additionally, while this novel can be read as a standalone, I strongly suggest reading the books in this series in the order they were written, because doing so will give you a better understanding of who the returning characters are, and the organization in which many of them were and are involved. It will most certainly enrich your reading experience.

Now to the players in this novel--First, Dash, who is now the leader of an offshoot of the Battleson Brothers' Elite Team, filled with self-recrimination for the death of one of his men--his closest friend, Nix Astor, the eldest son of Richard Astor, one of the richest men in the world. Coming from an abusive home, Dash was practically adopted and raised by Richard Astor, a very hard and demanding taskmaster, and over the years Dash fell in love with Richard's eldest daughter, Athena (Thena). The two were planning to marry several years ago, but when Nix died during an op, Dash blamed himself, and when he returned home, for reasons that would be spoilers, Thena kicked him to the curb, her three sisters fled to parts unknown, and Thena stayed behind, being groomed to take over the vast Astor holdings upon her father's demise--a job that should have gone to Nix.

As the novel opens, Dash recieves a letter from Richard Astor, filled with some seriously alarming news and a mission, and that news and mission have him returning to the Astor estate and trying to protect Thena and her sisters from what the Astor letter assures Dash will be coming. The contents of the letter are shocking, as is Thena's hatred of Dash, but these two characters circle around each other drawn together by their shared past and their love for one another, yet at the same time, torn apart by their feelings of confusion and betrayal--especially when Dash announces that in the letter and papers Thena's father signed before his death, it's Dash who will be taking over as the CEO of the Astor companies, not Thena, which comes as quite a shock to the woman who was expecting that it would be her role, and who put up with the fact that nothing she ever did or accomplished was good enough for her father.

As if that blow wasn't enough, Richard's letter also announces that his death wasn't from natural causes, but that he was murdered, and Dash is now charged with protecting the woman he's loved since they were teenagers, and who now hates the very sight of him, still torn up by his betrayal of their love, but, as romance readers know, hate and love are two sides of the same coin, and did he really betray her? I'm not telling!

What follows is an addictive, page-turner with more suspects than the cast of Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express, and as soon as you think you know who is responsible for Richard's death, the murderous attempts aimed at Thena, the search for her missing sisters, the love/hate relationship between Dash and Thena, and oh yes, as if that wasn't enough, Ms. del Mar tossed in some of the players in the New World Order (she never misses a chance to be political), you'll find out that your guess in this whodunit is completely wrong.

If you haven't caught on to where all of this is going, you're not alone, but Anna del Mar is one heck of a novelist, and you are in for a surprise ending that will blow your mind, just as it blew mine. This is not a novel you want to miss, but as I mentioned at the outset, it ends in a cliffhanger, and this reader cannot wait for the next novel in this amazing, engaging, and thrill ride of a series.

The action / suspense was there, and so was the romance. But for some reason, the story dragged; it was too verbose in my view.

For example, focusing an entire chapter on how Thena was lying on the floor in pain and crawling to the bathroom to vomit was a bit much. All of this happened in the span of a few minutes but took almost nine pages to describe. This verbosity proved to be a trend throughout the book, and played havoc on my attention span.

I didn't like Thena in the beginning. Her attitude towards Dash was cold and arrogant. But then, when I read her POV, I understood where she was coming from. She was misguided, yes, but I got why she felt and acted the way she did. However, I did not like her. I cannot tell you why - can't put my finger on it - but something about her just rubbed be up the wrong way.

Dash, on the other hand, was quite likeable, loyal and true. I appreciated the fact that he did not work his way through every woman he could get his hands on during his separation from Thena. This is unlike most romance novels where the MMC lives the life of a man-wh*re while separated from the FMC - that was a nice touch.

There were a few TSTL moments on Thena's part, but otherwise it was an okay read, and I would still recommend it - I enjoyed getting to know the new Alpha Heroes team.

Ahh Dash, what a wild ride you took me on in this latest release of Alpha Heroes!

I need to find me one of these Alpha's; makes the real-life guys in my life seem very lackluster, but means I thoroughly enjoy sitting down with them on my pages, so I can immerse myself in someone else's brain-imaginings :)

I love the characters in the book; even the bad-naughty-nasty, ones. They're built and come alive amazingly, so you're invested in their lives. Always love to be reintroduced to the heroes and heroines from previous books in the series as well - the author does an amazing job of dropping in old characters, which will help the plot progress in the latest edition.

Another great read! Cant wait to add to my collection of paperbacks and Kindles as always :)x

Dash and Thena

Another masterpiece from Anna Del Mar in her Alpha Heroes series. Dash is such a formidable hero who never gives up. He has battled on for three years, beaten down, blaming himself for the death of his teammate, and having lost the love of his life.
Given a lifeline by BB and now with his own team to lead, Tracker Team will become a fierce fighting unit.
If you haven’t read any of Anna Del Mar’s Alpha Heroes books you are certainly missing out.
I recommend you read every one of the 11 books to date in this series. I’m looking forward to the next instalment.

I loved every single thing about Dash. The intense suspense, action, drama, intigue and romance. The hunt for the killer's identity. The betrayals by trusted ones. The Tracker Team personalities and their loyalty to one another, the team and the mission. And, finaaly the fabulous second chance romance that nearly sets the pages on fire. Dash Dagger and Athena Astor were born to love one another and despite attempts to keep them apart, some temporarily successful, their love will withstand that and so much more.

I was so excited to see this new addition to the series. Dash was a fast paced book that was engaging and fun to read. The book gave the reader a solid base to learn about the Tracker team and its members. I enjoyed this story and am looking forward to the next book.
