H.M. Ward continues to reign as a NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author who surpassed more than 23 million books sold, placing her among the literary titans. Ward has been featured in articles in the NEW YORK TIMES, FORBES, and USA TODAY to name a few.
Originally I loved this series... 10 book became too much. Someone said "cash cow" it was the same as I was feeling. Damaged wrapped up in 2 books. Wonderful. After spending 35$ I am done. I was however able to refund #9 because I was so mad, not only do I feel that this authors publisher is laughing at us, the author herself must not seem so concerned about her fan base. Absolutely ridiculous! I have read series... Kreisler cole, JR ward, Tiffany Reisz, Keri Arthur, how are they able to deliver GREAT novels 300pages plus and keep their fans? Simple they don't scam them so With thus bullshit marketing! I believe if Ms Ward wants happy fans she should end Sean and Avery in book 10 and give us more than 125 pages!!! After all, your fans are the ones SPENDING atrociously! Why no comments Holly?? I read reviews it seems like the ya audience is loving it, probably on their parents dime...and your avid readers are done...
I am with the rest of the frustrated readers who loved her original series Damaged and was looking forward to this series. Originally when I ordered all 8 of her books I balked at the price but figured she was such a great writer so it was worth it. Stupid me I didn't read the reviews nor did I notice the page count for each issue. Initially I was engrossed in the story but as I continued on I became increasingly frustrated because I felt with each issue she was telling less of the story. The last issue was the worst of them all, I felt like I was just spinning my words reading dead air time. You have to give it to her publisher who has learned from Hollywood how to sucker a person in. Back in the 60's and 70's a tv series ran from September through June and you never had a repeat. Then each year the season became shorter till it is today. Give us five shows then go on a 4 month break, give us a few more then hang us out to dry till next season. Ms. Ward should start reading more of her reviews and realize as a writer we need our readers. There are too many talented writers out there who are offering just as good if not better work. She will always have those fans that will disagree and I can understand and appreciate their viewpoint. However if you want to increase our base listen to all your reviews and take each to heart. When a customer like me takes the time to ask you when do you think it will end so I know how much more I have to invest. Don't come off with a flippant remark that it will end only when your readers stop asking. The only reason they keep asking is because you just end the book in the middle of a situation and the readers want to find out what happened. It's not like a true series where the book was so great you demanded more from the characters and wanted to know what would happen next in their lives. You just want to know what happened period. You have taken what would have been a great book that could easily have been condensed into two maybe three novels and turned it into a soap opera which only cheapened your talent. Please Ms Ward, listen for once to your readers end the series and don't make the mistake with your next.
Please let this be the last book, great story but being released as short stories is now annoying.... This could of been 2 great books with a great review, now I am just annoyed!
Loved 10 lot better then nine but the cliff hanger came to soon n gotta wait again :( think I should wait till it all ends n read in one block they are just to short for me
While I enjoy her writing, I think this series is getting beaten to the ground by greed. Quite honestly, if you are going to have this many books in a series you do not need to be charging 2.99 per "book". At best the length of each episode is a few chapters. The last installment did little to nothing to forward the plot. Do all of us a favor and wrap this up before you destroy two perfectly good characters in the process.
Wish I had read the reviews before I invested $30 in this series. The first few books were really good, but I can't keep paying $2.99 for SIXTY freaking pages. Wrap the story up, already. Tell us who Mr. Charles is and let Avery and Sean live happily ever after and finish it!! Hoping this is the last one. If I pay $3 for another 60 pages and it's still not done I will not be buying another HM Ward book, ever.
**edit** saw that there's a #11 listed on the series page now, so I won't be purchasing or reading this. Just moving it to my 'read' shelf so it's off my 'to read' shelf without deleting my review.
Thank for the ARC Copy. I loved every bit. H.M.Ward you are a BAD BAD girl. I can't believe you did that at the end of the book. I'm just left hanging here wondering what the Fudge. I love this story of Sean and Avery. You are a awesome writer :)
I do this every damn time. I always end these reads and think, next time I will not dive right into once it's released. But then I stalk Holly's Facebook page and find out that she hits publish and am searching on Amazon like a crack head looking for her next fix. And what a fix this one was.
I know there are mixed emotions about this series and the number of them, but who cares? Shut your pie-hole and just ride the wave that is the crazy story of Avery & Sean. This has to be one of my favorite installments to date. There is just something about the carefree Sean that I can't get enough of.
Installment 10 had me strung so freaking tight. There was nothing but pure sexual tension between these two and even though we get some answers to the questions, like who was the one texting - we don't get one very important answer. Instead we get left hanging.
Somewhere in my head I pictured Holly tying out the last few pages of this story, stopping, and then hitting the backspace button - deleting a few paragraphs then hitting publish. All the while looking something similar to this:
Gah! All these moments with just Sean and Avery were perfect. Pure bliss wrapped up in sunshine and rainbows.
Please tell me this is the last one! 35$ for a short story series that won't end with horrible, horrible cliff hangers is a bit much. Although, I've paid 40$ for a 3 book series before (hardcovers tho). Anyways, I'm still reeling at who the Mr. Charles could be... Avery should have known Sean would have reserved the room under a mr jones if it were him. Ugh please put me out of my misery and release this last installment!
*Update*
NOOOO!! There's more?!?!!? Ward you are absolutely killing me girl! This was just a teaser! When it ended I actually looked under my kindle I thought the rest must have fell through, there's no way it ended on that note! What the hell will she say? What about black?? Or ugly naked guy?? Ugh this is going to be the longest 3 months or however long til the next one comes out. But besides the horrible cliff hanger the SHORT story was FaNtAsTiC! Love this love story and the characters! So beautiful!!
I have read all of the Arrangement series and Arrangement 10 is the best so far. I really feel like that you got to see more of the characters personalities in this book. Also, I love a sexy book with humor and the chemistry between Avery and Sean in this book was the best yet!
I see where several people say that they don't like the several book series. I personally love it. I get a little bit of Sean and Avery along and along instead of having to wait months at a time for more of the story. Just my personal take.
Keep them coming H.M. Ward as I'll be right there buying any Ferro story you throw at me!
utter bullshit was my first thought. up till this point the story was amazing. i cant believe she made us wait so long for a sub par scene. 100 pages though? did not live up hype. she could have written and published this months ago
I received a copy of The Arrangement #10 for an honest review.
Squeeeeeeee!!!! Holy peanut butter on toast. I have to say this is installment is one of my absolute favorites. Sean was practically in the entire book this time and he was absolutely swoon worthy this time around. No jack ars Sean, no too ignorant for words, no broody Sean! It’s a completely new Sean well not new but all his moments where he’s free and loving are in tenfold this story.
Sean: Oh my goodness I fell in love with Sean all over again. There were definitely some sketchy moments where I wasn’t sure about him but man on man I am in love with him all over again. He’s sweet, romantic and protective. So hot! No sexy time in this one but it honestly wasn’t needed with how amazing he was in this story.
Avery: Avery is definitely insecure in this story. She’s been jerked around and hurt so many times but she still holds strong. She tries to distance herself from her feelings for Sean but with his sudden change in character definitely throws her for a whirl and she doesn’t know what to aspect except rejection. (Boy oh boy is she in for a surprise)
Naked Guy: Oh my goodness who the freak knew? I was so not expecting what happens there but had this been me in that situation before hand my mom always told me grab-twist-and-pull. I swear he would not have showed up again in my room. What a major jack ars. Ugh he makes me mad and I am so happy Mel kicked his ever naked behind.
Overall: I was getting iffy on this series since it has lasted so long. This latest installment has made me fall in love with this series all over again. H.M. Ward does not disappoint and I am now officially dying to see what happens next. If you haven’t started this series yet you definitely need to. The Arrangement series definitely pulls at the heart strings and has some amazingly relatable characters that are almost impossible to not fall in love with. I also love how I could tell there was overlap with this series and Damaged.
I love the Ferro brothers (Jonathan is by far the winner in my eyes) and H.M. Ward, but this particular series is just getting ridiculous. To the point that my review is so negatively affected because I am angry when I finish rather than gleefully anticipating the next one. The story, don't get me wrong, is great, but I feel that the author is risking losing a substantial amount of readers by delivering in this format. While many of us will see this storyline to completion, I do not believe that I would invest in another set of stories like this. To me, I would rather have a substantially complete story with a mild cliffhanger that I have to wait 6-12 months for the next release rather than having the 1 story drag out for that same period of time for going on more than 10x the cost.
I read the blog post as to why and still do not agree with this method. At least but two of these in to one so that we would be on book 5 instead of 10. For 2.99 per 'short essay', I would rather continue to take my chances on the $.99 books from new authors than complete Sean and Avery's story.
Barely anything happens from 'book' to 'book' and when it does, there is a cliffhanger. One in which I am not happy waiting 1-2 months only to find out that I will be barely sated long enough to end 1 hour later with ANOTHER cliff hanger. Yes I am a fast reader, but with the number of NA stories available these days, I would rather spend my $$ on books that will span a day or two for me.
Soo excited for the ARC!! Best one yet! Finally we are seeing who I know Sean to be. You can see he is really trying hard to let Avery see and know how he feels. This book really kept me guessing though, I would never have thought the video/ message guy to be who he was... Also Mel's character develops and we see she does have a soft side and suffers from her past. Sean starts to question what her true feelings are for Avery. This book focuses on Avery and Sean and I was good with that! It is a must read and by far one of the best books in this series! And as Avery asks at the end... "Ask me... " I know what I want his question to be... But we will have to wait for 11, hopefully not to long!
H.m. Ward p,ease put a link to your blog post educating people on the difference between a series and a novel ...???? I have read pretty much everything from you and I love how all your stories are coming together In the other novels. And I can't lie that I sometimes wish Avery and Sean could just have their happily ever after and be done :) but I think your explanation of the series vs. the novel with the picture of the books really clears things up and might help to educate some of these readers :) ...okay that's it ... Patiently (kinda) waiting for stripped 2 and the arrangement 10 :)
OMG Holly, you are killing me...seriously, this is the best one of this series. We actually got gorgeous, sexy Sean in this book, it was Avery I could have battered!!
"No I chose the right guy, he just didn't choose me back."
So many perfect one liners from Sean, he had me melting!!
"Without you, well, there's nothing. I'm lost in darkness and you're my only ray of light."
WOW, just wow, I am totally loving this series. LOVE Sean!!
WAHOO!!! Finally I get an ARC of a book I was ANXIOUS to read. I think I've already said, I'm seriously addicted to this series!!
Sean Ferro is "LUSH" I want this man like YESTERDAY!!! This installment really satisfied me. The relationship between Sean and Avery gets very intimate in this one and not in a sexual way, but emotionally.
I'll complete my review on Monday, when the book goes live!!! :)
So book 10 did not disappoint me at all!! I loved it because we get a lot of Sean in this one. The sexy and sweet Sean. He's swooping in to be Avery's Knight in Shining Armor and I LOVED that!!
Avery was duped into thinking her last "date" was with Sean. When she showed up at the hotel, she received text messages which she assumed were from Sean, and so she sent him some naughty pics and videos of herself. Turns out it wasn't Sean and everyone is freaking out. Mel and Sean fight over who should keep Avery safe. Of course Sean wins out and I LOVED when he said this to Mel, because this is what I've been saying all along about her and why I have issues with this character!!!
"I see. Remind me again who introduced her to Miss Black in the first place?"
I just love the chemistry between Avery and Sean. She's getting fiestier and proving to Sean he's met his match. This girl should be completely broken, but she keeps going, never lets her misfortunes bring her down.
"Holy fuck, Avery."He starts laughing those light little laughs that sound more crazed than anything else."I've never met my match. Not with business or in the bedroom, but you--we're neck and neck on the crazy scale, aren't we?"
Avery can't help the magnetic pull she feels towards Sean. She knows this man is damaged and that he may never give her that happy ending with the house w/ white picket fence, and babies, but she still can't seem to walk away from him.
"Do you ever feel like your life is right in front of you, but you have no idea how to step into it? I mean, it's right there. There's a guy that's crazy about me who offered me all of these things and I said no."
Sean Ferro definitely is one of the hottest alpha male bad boys out there and I love every moment that he and Avery are together. He's UBER SEXY!!!
Based on the look on Sean's face, this body will never be old news. I like how he makes me feel. Goddesses would blush if he looked at them like that. Those blue eyes, that wicked smirk, and the way he's so close but not close enough--Sean Ferro makes me totally crazy.
Yes...this was a FIVE Star for me because in this one it looks like maybe Sean could possibly be giving in to his feelings for Avery. He's showing her the tender and loving side to him.
We're left with another HUGE cliffy and I'm hoping that I'm right with what Sean's question to Avery might be!!! :)
this series started well, but it keeps rolling downhill, and like a bad accident I can't force myself to turn away. Ms. ward has struck gold by writing the same crap over and over again and then finishes the installment with a bogus cliff hanger to make people come back to see what happens. the latest book is absolutely appalling!!!! Avery is such a shallow and scattered character. she is super sad and damaged over death of her parents, which is understandable but since death is a natural part of life and we are all wired to cope with it, it makes no sense why she is so distraught over this and traumatized. in this book there was an attempt to make her funny but it failed miserably! the conversations between Avery and Sean mean nothing and go nowhere. they are just a bunch of words to fill the pages because clearly Ms. ward is rushing to put books out just to make money, deadline and satisfy readers who ask for more than 75 pages. at the end of this installment she is asking people to go on her facebook page and suggest what Sean's going to say while he is kneeling down. If the readers are writing the book why is H. M. Ward charging 2.99 for 125 pages of garbage! If HM Ward concentrated on one book at a time instead of making several with same story line but different names, perhaps she could have a mediocre book.
this is turning into one of the worse books I have ever read and it is such a tragedy, because it started with so much potential!
Holy Shit!Ive done it again.Ive dove into yet another Arrangement. Holy hell. This one at least ended with me smiling my ass off.I keep saying to myself.Never again will I read a series book that they haven't all been released, but H.M Ward sucks me in ever time and I couldn't thank her enough.I love this series as much as I love chocolate or sex or both together.Sean is completely hot and screwed up and that just makes me want a piece of him even more.Im rooting for Avery. She has had more shit thrown her way and it's high time she shackles up with Mr hot and crazy in the perfect house with their very own picket fence.(that if I lived in their neighborhood I would be taking up stalking)So this is how I see it....Now give me 11 Ward!and hurry Please.
If you read everything that Ms. Ward puts out about this series its always about the readers wanting more. Look at the comments...I see only complaints about how much money this series has cost us all and how we HOPE book 10 will be the LAST !!!! I don't believe the readers are the ones that keep wanting more chapter books.
I feel the need to say this what with everyone commenting. If you don't like the price or the fact that its a serial series, then don't buy them. Problem solved. Why rate a book with 1 star that you haven't read?! That is all..I feel better now!
This was my favorite volume yet! Why you ask? Because Sean is in it almost the ENTIRE time! We get to see a different side of him in Vol. 10. The most shocking part is that his true feelings are finally showing through his tough outer shell and surprise surprise he does care! I felt like a lot of ground was covered during this volume. We learn a lot about how Sean is really feeling about Avery. I felt like a lot of issues were resolved and they are going to move on with their lives. Even after all the crazy video stuff! Will Avery and Sean ever get a happy ever after? Are they forever broken?
What would one of these books be without a little hot romance! Yes, we do get a little fun time with Sean and Avery. Although I have a feeling when these guys finally do get together, like reeeeally together it's going to be insanely hot!! I felt like they were a normal dating couple. The kind of man that Avery makes Sean when they are together is truly beautiful. I think things are going to turn around for Sean and Avery! My hope for them has been renewed!
I have really loved this series. Vol. 10 ended on quite the amazing note! I can not wait to see what is going to happen next! I really hope I am right about whats coming!!
H M Ward you will be the death of me. I have a love hate relationship with this book series. I love The Ferro boy. Sean Ferro, oh god how I love thee. Avery Stanz, say yes. I don't want to ruin the cliff hanger by spoiling things for all who haven't read, but say yes, for god sake say yes.
That's the love portion of these books. Now for the hate. I hate the waiting for parts like scraps. I need the next one now. How many are you writing? I just feel attached to Sean & Avery & then poof they are gone again. This story is so intense at times. Didn't see that coming, when we find out who impersonated Sean, not at all, never for one moment did I think it was him.
Love Mel, her protective nature towards Avery is glorious, definitely crushing there. I think Sean is right when he says Mel has feelings more than friendship towards Avery. He was right about Marty & what's with Amber handing keys out, my god that girl is not all there.
I know Marty loves Avery, but Avery & Sean are beautifully broken together. They compliment each other they are whole or as close to it when they are together. Please say yes, let this happen. Don't make us wait too long, I know it all clicks together with the other brothers stories, but think of our sanity we need this to reach HEA status soon.
I started out loving this series like everyone else. , but this has become longgggggg and drawn out. When will it end? The author could have put all the series together and make a nice book to read with more than 85 pages to it . Each edition has about 75-100 pages. As soon as another series of The Arrangement comes out ; I read it in less than 2hours and get frustrated all over again. When the author finally decides to conclude the Arrangement series, hopefully it will be a happy ending. Ahhh, finally got my frustration out regarding this author & series. Need to vent!
