Cade committed himself to saving lives before he learned the full consequences of his life-altering decision. It wasn’t until he was tending his sick wife that he learned the enormity of what he’d done and he was unable to save her from the monster he had become. Consumed with guilt and praying for absolution, he threw himself into killing every Fallen he could find to save the humans he’d sworn to protect. But then Emma, deliciously mortal and completely forbidden, swept into his world, stirring an overpowering desire. Now he’s not only fighting soulless creatures, but also his inner cravings, trying to maintain his distance and continue on his path to forgiveness. He can’t afford to lose control again and sacrifice another love.
I'm not going to rate this, since I read only a very small portion, but seeing that not one reviewer has mentioned how incredibly derivative it is, I feel like I have make note of that. This is the first page of the glossary. If you can read it without busting out laughing, this book may be for you.

I can never get enough of the good vs evil paranormal books! This one was fabulous! It had everything I love and more. I loved the names for all different types of characters. It was a beautiful and frightening story. Imagine losing your family because of a choice you made then spend hundreds of years blaming yourself. Barely living because of the guilt. That's the way Cade choose to live his life.
A long time ago a Elias (Behnshma) came to Cade when he was dying of small pox and offered him something, needed something from him. He wanted him to fight against Apollyon. Cade said yes but had to go see his family. He knew they were gone but he had to see. When he was there his wife was not all the way gone yet and when he smelled her blood the monster in him woke up and killed her.
That was over 200 years ago. He's been fighting the Fallen barely living. Emma just lost her job and is drinking her worries away on the way home she decides to take a short cut and she interrupts a Fallen killing some humans for the soul. Right when one of the Fallen is sucking out her soul she feels the Fallen being pulled away from her. After seeing something she couldn't comprehend she passes out. When she wakes up she's not home, when the lights come on she sees a yummy man staring at her.
He's kidnapped her right? She can't shake the feeling she's having for Cade.
Could she be his bahshrett?
This is a great book about forgiveness, love, and fighting evil. I'm hoping the author makes this a series I would love to know more about these SEXY Trihune. It's a great book!

Review: 3.5 stars
General: This book had a fantastic plot, compelling characters and unique world. This is a hard book for me to review as I was both insanely drawn in and slightly turned off at the same time. This is because there were multiple times I was quite confused at what was occurring. The book grabbed my attention immediately in the prologue. I felt Cade’s pain and loved him. Then in the same segment I was insanely confused by the lack of clarity as to an event that occurred during it. I am not sure how many of the ideas come from religious connotation as I do not have a Catholic background. However for most of the book in terms of the world building I was lost and found myself reading and rereading the sections that spoke upon the “world” Cade belonged too. Interactions between “The Followers” were great and yet when it turned to the interactions among Cade and his sect I was rereading and lost in many areas until I was able to piece together their powers and what not. I think Gabriel was standout and absolutely loved how he didn’t fit into what was going on. The confusion I kept experiencing throughout a good portion of the novel annoyed me but the plot was so intriguing and I loved Emma so much that I kept going and really was glad I did. I another issue was the story bounced around multiple times in one chapter and it made it harder to focus on who was with who, small details like that that threw me out of the book.
The parts that were simply storytelling and scene were wonderful though. The character development was great. Each and every character had a distinct feel and because of the wonderful writing behind them I kept reading and still loved reading the book. The plot moved forward smoothly and quickly. I never felt bored with what I was reading. I felt that this was a great beginning to a series and can’t wait to see how things progress as now I already know the world and may not find myself focusing on the lack of given details.
Characters: Emma- I loved Emma almost immediately. Her personality comes right off the pages at you whether she was sinking into her own misery, drinking and walking or a hot moment with Cade. She was truly a fully formed character and so much fun to read. Her reactions were so spot on and well written I could almost swear the author recorded someone drunk at one point and wrote it down. I loved the realism and spunk behind Emma. I wish she had a little stronger connection with Cade.
Cade: I was back and forth with Cade, which I think maybe as a reader I was supposed to be. I immediately fell in love with him. He was loyal, loving, supportive and strong minded. Then we shifted to the present and he was cold, detached and self loathing almost. Then he shifts again to how he was and I loved him again. I loved the switches as they felt like they belonged and made him so much easier to understand. I felt the passion and more with Cade than I did with Emma.
In her debut novel, RB Austin has taken a subject that has been done to death and breathed new life into it. In a world where we have millions of books to read and ideas are no longer new, this is extremely difficult, but she does it with ease.
For me, this was far less a novel about vampires than it was about the internal struggles of Cade as he battles centuries worth of regret only to question everything he knows when meets Emma. RB’s writing shines in her depiction of Cade’s inner conflict and his journey to overcome it. Emotions swirl and I was sucked into his turmoil, and his uncertainty, right along with him.
And then there is Emma. Spunky, strong-willed Emma. I have found in most romance novels, the leading lady never truly stops to question why she is falling fast for her hero. Not so much with Emma. She wonders every minute what the hell is wrong with her. Whereas Cade is busy dealing with his centuries of fear and doubt, Emma questions her sanity at every turn when she is confronted with Cade’s world and any feelings she may have for him. And I love that about her. She is not one of those sappy female characters who swoon and flutter for the man - jabbing her finger into his chest while giving him a piece of her mind is more her style.
The interaction between them, and between Cade and the rest of his brothers (the Trihune) is engaging to say the least, and I really hope that RB explores those secondary characters more in her next book.
Of course, Fallen Redemption is not all about the feelings that have sparked between Cade and Emma - Cade and his brothers still have to worry about saving the souls of the humans around them from the Fallen, including dealing with a force stronger than they have ever encountered before.
I know earlier that I said this was a novel about vampires, but I think just leaving it at that sells the story short. When I think of vampire novels, the same old images are conjured up - evil blood sucking fiends allergic to sunlight and garlic that have a penchant for hunting the innocent. Or the opposite: the Stephenie Meyer induced phenomena of sparkly teenage vampires who just want to be normal(ish).
RB has created a universe where her characters are nothing like this. In fact, she almost never refers to the Trihune as vampires - she only uses the word six times in the entire novel. I personally wouldn’t even consider it a book about vampires. Because really it isn’t. Two forces of immortal beings fighting against one another in the ultimate battle of good vs evil - light vs dark; yes. Vampires, not so much.
I highly suggest giving this book a read, I don’t think you will be disappointed.
This has tons of potential to be a great new series, I will defiantly be reading on to see how this series continues and to see the growth of this author. I see similarities to other popular paranormal romance books but they were done very well and in a flattering way, it is obvious while reading this book that this author has a love for paranormal romance. Paranormal romance was my first love in literature but after so long of reading it I found myself bored with the exception of my favorites and I have slowly moved away from this genre because nothing held my attention or grabbed my interest. Until Fallen Redemption.
RB Austin does so much right in this book the hero is phenomenal, he is everything I could want in a hero. Cade is crazy stalker possessive, demanding, completely in love, controlling and demanding. RB does a great job at building a new world and building not only the main characters but the side(and future characters) as well as the villains. The story flowed really well and I easily found myself wrapped up in the world and story of Cade and Emma as well as Cade's brother's and secret world.
One night while out with a friend Emma is attached, and saved by one of Cade's brothers(ach's). with no other option she is brought to their headquarters. When Cade see's Emma he immediately takes her and cares for her. Cade is drawn to her like no one before but his past and his devotion to his Behnshma sept (vampire's organization) that he leads stops him from making Emma his. As they spend more time together Emma and Cade soon fall in love but with no future and Cade's plans to wipe Emma's memory when she leaves they both accept that it was never meant to be.
When Emma is finally sent home Cade can't completely let go but knows she will find happiness and she will be safe. But the Fallen(villains) have other plans and when they find Emma Cade and his brothers will stop at nothing to bring her home safely. This was a really good book, I loved that we get a whole new language in this book and that it worked so well. There is a lot going on in this book but the author tied it in so well that I never felt overwhelmed or like I was being given tons of useless or filler information. I'm really excited to see how this series continues and to see who our next hero will be. I feel like I have finally found a new PR series that I can sink my teeth into and enjoy. This is the best free book I have ever gotten on Amazon and I will gladly purchase the next in the series.
The story begins with Cade and his back story of tragedy that creates the honorable crusader he is. When he meets Emma, who has just lost her job as an art teacher, she is attacked by an evil group called The Fallen.
Cade and Emma are great characters, well rounded and very believable.
The twist in the story is a great concept and the rules of good and evil are definitely blurred. The end could have been less of a cliffhanger. I will be looking for the sequel to find out some unanswered questions.
Being a romance novel it was a bit predictable, but that only made it more endearing. Loved the use of words only used by the members of the groups. Nice touch.
As a SciFi lover, I wanted more about the Fallen and Cade's group, the Behnshma, but still an excellent concept and a book worth reading.
This book seems to take a LOT of inspiration from J.K. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood and Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series. Only they did a lot better.
3.5 Fallen Redemption the first book in a paranormal romance series called the Trihune, by R.B. Austin. Fallen Redemption was a book that I enjoyed, but parts left me frustrated.
Caffeinated Aspects: • I was immediately drawn into the story and curious about Cade. We get a brief glimpse of how he came to be immortal. Cade has some major guilt and struggles despite the fact that he is a leader. He comes of gruff but as the author peeled back, his layers I began to care for him. We also meet Emma an art teacher with a talented gift but she needs to believe in herself. I immediately liked Emma and found her to be brave, intelligent and quite capable of handling Cade.
• The suspense is intense, as Emma finds herself in danger from the Fallen. Fallen Redemption is your classic good vs.evil tale. The author provides perspectives from both the Fallen (evil) and Cade’s brotherhood. (good)
• I enjoyed the pace and quickly became caught up in the sotry. The author gave us moments with Emma and Cade, but also gave us equal time with the intense action scenes.
• The supernatural creatures and their missions/battles/cause intrigued me. We briefly meet secondary characters, and while they were not fleshed out, we learned enough to have me curious.
• The romance felt real, and while it could be perceived as insta-love, the author allows it to grow and develop into something deeper making it feel genuine.
• I consumed Fallen Redmeption in two sittings, and despite issues mentioned below found myself fully engaged.
Decaffeinated Aspects: • While the author provides an index of technical terms for her characters, the world building was not detailed enough. It kept the pace intense, and while I had a basic understanding of the battle, who they were and where they came from I needed back-story.
• The ending was a little too open, and it left me a little frustrated. While the book is part of a series and the answers will come, it seemed to cut off entirely too soon.
• At times, scenes were confusing. Moments with the Fallen were not detailed enough, leaving me to scratch my head and I found myself going back thinking I had missed something.
Despite wanted more details regarding the world and these supernatural creatures, I found Fallen Redemption to be an engaging read and plan to read the next book in the series.

R.B. Austin isn’t breaking new ground with Fallen Redemption. She uses themes regularly seen in paranormal books of good vs. evil, redemption, forgiveness and love.
And there is nothing wrong with that.
Austin creates compelling characters that show a range of emotions. The development of the main characters, Cade and Emma, are believable and inspired. Austin was able to write the characters in a way that make the readers care about what is going on.
Fallen Redemption reminded me of Lara Adrian’s Midnight Breed series (at least the first book), which has had comparisons to JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood, but I had never read that series. Several paranormal creatures are part of Cade’s group whose job it is to hunt evil and rescue humans from it. These other characters are compelling as well, and could certainly be main characters in later books in the series. I wanted to learn more about them – just not yet. Austin does a nice job of not letting too many people get in the way of the main story.
The paranormal romance is believable. Emma was brought to the compound because she was attacked by a Fallen (one of the bad guys) and needed to be healed. Her initial reaction is that she has been kidnapped, and is frightened. However, as she realizes she is not a prisoner, she lets her guard down. That’s when Cade, timid and reluctant in the love department, envelops her, and both go down a road neither is prepared for.
As expected with paranormal romances, there were sex scenes, but none of them felt dirty or gratuitous. When a couple of Cade’s partners had to go out and take care of some, uh, needs, Austin didn’t go into details about this nameless club sex, which kept the story moving, but allowed you to understand what happened.
There was an interesting twist near the end of the book when Cade and Emma’s affair hit a roadblock, but it couldn’t be the end for them because that doesn’t make for a fun romance.

I really didn’t know what to expect when I accepted this book. When I said yes, I was on holiday and I saw the email and didn’t look too closely at the blurb. I love to read just about anything and decided to go with it. Luckily I enjoyed this book.
The writing is solid. Cade is your typical silent and brooding type of hero. At times he could be a tad possessive and that made me slightly uncomfortable. Emma is also the typical girl in distress on some levels. She doesn’t have a lot of friends and she’s an orphan. At first I worried that RB Austin would allow her female character to become a cardboard cutout. Instead, she gave Emma a strong voice. Even while she is falling for Cade, who is technically holding her captive, she’s questioning her feelings and sanity. Actually, her internal dialogue is often humorous.
The romance comes at you fast and then slows down some. For the most part I enjoyed the romantic elements. However, some of the lines were super cheesy. For example, “I want your fangs inside me.” I had to laugh over that one. There are a few others. It didn't ruin the book for me. But I'm a fan of cheesy lines that make me laugh.
Overall, I enjoyed the novel. It’s about vampires, a genre I enjoy, but it’s refreshing. At times I actually forgot the novel was about bloodsuckers. I won’t say too much how she changed things up since I don’t want to ruin the story for others. I will say it’s good start to the series and I look forward to reading more.
1729, Caderyn O’Cearnaigh of Llangwyllog was turned into a Behn when the smallpox struck their little town, taking the lives of his children. That was a long time ago, now, Cade is a leader of Sept One Behnshmas, charged to to protect humans (The Followers) from Apollyon’s Fallen.
Then in present day, Emma found herself swept into Cade’s life, confused and frightened after the attack. Both characters find themselves stumbling their way into a relationship. Cade is someone or something that was charged to protect humans from the dangerous world of Fallen, soulless things that only know how to hurt and consume.
Although the story line is nothing new, the characters and the careful planning helps establish a unique combination that manages to keep me interested. First we have Cade, a mess of a man, someone riddled with guilt and self- loathing after what had happened to his first wife back in 1729. When he met Emma, a beautiful person inside and out, his protective streak comes flaring back. This causes some conflict and it was fun to read, the supportive characters were there to cause more trouble. In the end, Fallen Redemption is not just a story about good versus evil or the fight to protect mankind from evils of Apollyon’s Fallen. This is a story about love and forgiveness, and how a person’s trust can change course of things.
There are a few characters in the book given to me by the author for a fair review, I appreciate that I was given Fallen Redemption as I will be reading Fallen Darkness soon.
Where did I get the book: from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review My Rating: 4 bookworms My Review: When reading the blurb you don’t really get a feel for what the book is going to be like. When I started reading it I was at first a bit disappointed. I thought I was dubed into reading another typical vampire book. Boy was I wrong. The author created such a different idea, a different view point to the myth that I felt like I was reading about a creature I have never come across before. I was captivated by Cade’s inner turmoil and his refusal to be happy in his own life. He fights to save the innocent and helpless yet refuses to see that he deserves to be happy too. His conflict with Gabriel makes for a funny read (which I didn’t expect) and Ms Austin’s description of the Sept and it’s inner workings was complex yet completely understandable. Emma is adorable. From being fired to getting sloshed at the bar on the way home she shows a type of character that is very rare in fiction these days. She gripes, and moans, yet she is determined to stand on her own two feet. And I had a crazy laugh at her descriptions and view points throughout the story. This was a great start to what promises to be an amazing series.
Love Cade he's dealing with a lot of issues, inner struggle, forgiving himself and deep desire. I thought the writer captured his part perfectly. Emma's character after her and Cade grew feelings for each other cannot replace him in her mind, she can't come to terms with him not being there or having her memories erased, her hallucinations and thoughts she was dealing with was a powerful thing. The secondary characters have a large part in this book, they are all fighting for the good but at what price. It's not your typical vampire story or typical paranormal it has a a lot of creativity and uniqueness. I want to know what happens next. 4 stars review by upallnightreadallday.blogspot.com
Cade is a strong man but with convictions, and sorrow. He is afraid to connect with anyone that is a follower, especially Emma. They both have their demons, they both feel loss, they both want to let go.
This story was well written and honestly? I cannot wait till the next book comes out. I have found a new author. Do I recommend this book? Absolutely!
I did not find any grammatical errors, or redundant wording, but a story about redemption.
Fallen Redemption had me falling into it waiting pages tripping all over myself for Cade one of the main characters. For being what I would call other worldly Cade was a fine specimen of a "man". Emma is just beautifully written as well she is just gorgeous inside and out. When these two come together sparks fly but flames burn deep! I was so excited to read this the first of the Trihune Series it is such a complete book more than a romance with so many elements that pull you in directions that will surprise and thrill to the very end. I can not wait to read the next in this series.
