Featured Attraction by Julie Cohen is about two people who reconnect after 10 years. Jack Taylor broke Kitty Giroux's heart in high school. Both have grown up and are now back in Portland, Maine and are working with each other on the Delphi Theater, one of Jack's dreams. Jack's other dream has kept him celibate for over a year; his dream woman. Imagine his surprise when his dream woman turns out to be Kitty, and she wants nothing to do with him! Kitty is leery of becoming another notch on Jack's bed post and she's still not over how he treated her in high school, plus she's had a lot happen to her since. So how's she going to listen to her head telling her Jack is no good for her, when her heart isn't willing to listen?
The book was a great read. It was fast, and kept me on my toes. I liked how Jack and Kitty dealt with their issues and had revelations that changed them for the better. They were easy to relate to and the way Ms.Cohen describes the Delphi makes me want to to time travel back to the 1920s and 30s and see it and other theaters like it in all their glory.
Julie Cohen has fast become one of my must read authors and I am really looking forward to reading more by her!
