Luna Werewolves #3

What Big Teeth You Have

Rate this book
Ashkii Fisher is a bear shifter, and he has no place within the pack of luna werewolves. They are welcoming and kind, however, and after the death of his mate so many months ago, he cannot help but stay, even if he is somewhat disappointed they haven’t killed him.

Then he meets his mate, another omega luna werewolf who is running away from something. Ash thought he would have only one mate in life, so he is stunned to learn that he has another, and he won’t let anything happen to this one.

David Austen did something that very few omega luna wolves survive. He broke off his mating with the alpha that he’d spent years of his life with. Tired of being abused, he was willing to risk death to get away. Severing the connection didn’t kill him, however, but his former mate just might if he finds David.

This third book in the series tackles yet another preconceived idea present in many shifter books, and gives us an interspecies couple that is not only mated but able to conceive a child (thus adding a second male pregnancy to the overall story). Now, you may say it's all fantasy and therefore not real in any case, and you would be right. And yet, as I am very much into this sort of fantasy and love different shifter worlds, I am intrigued by someone who seems to turn much of the "accepted wisdom" on its head and comes up with something slightly different - equally fantastical to be sure. If you are a fan of paranormal and shifter stories, you might be able to understand my delight about this; and yes, I am usually on the side of the "rebels", the ones who don’t necessarily obey all the rules. If you are not a fan, well, you've probably already stopped reading this review by now.

David, an omega luna wolf shifter, has survived the impossible. Or the almost impossible, at least: he has broken a mating bond. Shocking, right? Actually, his mate is an a**hat and not only cheated on David but hit him as well. Just the once, but that is enough. Rightfully, David decides to leave. I've always wondered if "bad mates" existed and what would happen if a good guy was mated to a bad guy. Supposedly, that won't happen, but this author has asked the question "but what if it were possible", and has given us this story. Complete with the pain and suffering both ex-mates go through. I loved how David still doesn’t give up, and is willing to try again despite his bad experience.

Ash, the bear shifter, couldn't be more perfect for David if he tried. He's gone through his own traumatic loss (his mate dies, killed by hunters), and doesn't expect to find another mate. Especially not one of a different shifter species! I thought it was super cute how the big bear of a man doesn’t think he belongs with the wolves, even though they invite him into their pack. Realizing that David is his mate, his second chance at happiness, changes that, of course. Ash is super protective and thank God he is as strong as he is – when David's ex suddenly reappears, David needs all the help he can get.

Finally, in this book Westley, from book one, gives birth. We don’t get to see any details, but we do find out he has the baby. I'm hoping for more in book four. If you like shifter stories that don’t adhere to the "traditions" of the paranormal genre, if you enjoy reading about mates who get second chances but have a hard time accepting that at first, and if you're looking for a read with lots and lots of hot and loving shifter-on-shifter action, then you will probably like this novella.

Couple of things that bother me..
When David and Warren get attacked, why didn't David use mate bond to tell Ash he was in trouble? In fact, it seems like the first time it is mentioned at all is after this from David during BJ but Ash didn't reply the same way but out loud.

Other than I don't believe Ash as a bear shifter should have been able to defeat luna form wolf shifter and 'lack' of mate bond communication, the rest of the story was very enjoyable.

I liked the "bear shifter in werewolves clan" idea. I liked Ash and even liked David but I was fuming as I noticed that Marcy again put the BDSM elements in her book. God, how much I hate it.
The story was short and the luna werewolf-bear duel was a nice touch there.
It would be a 5 star but I must remove one star for the fu*** BDSM! :)
C'mon their first night together and already handcuffs? What they are planning to do after 5 years of life together? F**c themselves with morning-star spiked weapon?
Things need to evolve gradually.

Actually liked it better than the first one. It's less shallow if equally fast. It's like there's always a big rush for them to have sex, mate, fall in love and be happy for life. Like they don't have time to do it slowly and patiently. I thought this one would be slower considering both characters had came out of past relationships recently, Ash's mate was killed and David had to leave his, but the rhythm stayed pretty much the same. We did get more of a background for both of them tho and it made it so much better. I also liked reconnecting with previous couples.

Luckily Maddox was able to take the position, and as an alpha who wasn't afraid to get all sorts of piercings on his face, he was well able to defend himself should something happen.

Wait, so if I get piercings on my face I automatically learn Muay Thai or Karate or something? I didn't realize that getting facial piercings was some sort of sign of how well you could defend yourself...so what does that mean if he has all sorts of penis piercings - he is immortal?

*doesn't know whether to laugh or cry*

MUUUUUCHH better than the Second book! Ash and David were adorable and completely hot! I like that the series is starting to explore the concept of multiple mates due to abuse or death. It's a good topic and one that is often ignored.
They will need to figure out how to introduce a birth control tea or something bc not every gay couple wants a baby! lol But the book was great and I truly enjoyed it. Looking forward to more from this series!

A bear shifter and an omega, oh my.
This story was different because the omega - always thought to be weak and needy was tired of the abuse suffered at the hands of his mate, an alpha. He actually severed their mating and survived!!! Something unheard of.
It's all about believing in oneself and taking the chance to love again.

There are a few lines about an Omega who breaks his mating bound only to mate almost immediately with somebody else, and the rest is tones of sex, presented in a boring manner, while the annoying theme of MP dominates the whole story.

I liked this one because I liked Ash and David. Considering how I didn't feel a thing for the characters in the previous books, it was a relief to find a couple I could care a bit about.

Every book of this series that I've read has been enjoyable. I like how the pack is working together to improve their lives. Can't wait to read more of them.
