"I was always his, and I finally believe that he is fully mine. To have. To hold. Till death. Do us part."

“Lust is a dangerous thing. It can make you believe things that are not real. It can seduce your mind and lead it blindfolded to the cliff that will be its demise.”
“She was in a situation that was desperate enough to allow her life to be manipulated.”

My time at the Crystal Palace changed me - hardened me into a survivor, shooting steel into parts of me that were previously weak and bendable. What an amazing, emotional ride that was! Alessandra Torre has outdone herself once again! Please take the time to read my review of the full series on GoodReads by clicking HERE!
So, even when my heart was falling, free and unrestrained, diving downward into a pool of ridiculousness, my brain knew better. My brain planned for the inevitable, for the disappointment, and the disaster that lay ahead. My brain made sure that there would be a parachute to catch me, to ensure that my weak heat wouldn't doom the rest of me.

I will never be able to resist this man. I am his, to do with as he wishes.
I am his mark, and he is feasting.
I can’t stay away from you. I can’t live without seeing your smile or hearing your voice....
I need you...to breathe...![]()

This entire series is a wild ride. My emotions have been all over the place. I didn't really know what to expect when starting this series except that I assumed Nathan would be another Christian Gray or Gideon Crossfire. I've come to expect that from books of this genre especially the trilogies. This happens to have 4 books to the series but they are extremely short taking under an hour to read each part.
Candy works as a stripper. She has a sick father who she can't afford to visit and she can't afford his rising medical cost. A rich, controlling client comes into the Crystal Palace where she works to make her an offer she can't refuse. He offers her a contract marriage in exchange for her fathers medical care. The rest is unpredictable and disturbing at times. Both Nathan and Candy/Jennifer were unlikable characters to me until the last book. Even then I had a hard time forgiving their indiscretions. There were things that Nathan did to Candy that were cruel and unforgivable but Candy also brought a lot of that on herself because of the bad decisions she continually made.
This is one of those reads that if I had it to do all over again I probably wouldn't read it. Nathan's cold demeanor and secretive ways reminded me of Aleatha Roming's Tony. The plot was just a lot more complicated in Aleatha's series. This book is a total mindfuck. If you enjoy a ton of sex, cruel treatment, then this is probably a book you will like. For me it was just a bit too much.
