They were born in the wrong times… but they were right for each other. Deadwood is a town where the past and the present collide on the other side of the looking glass. Cody is a modern man with an old soul, full of the chivalry of a bygone era. Rose is a progressive woman born during the Civil War, when women were told to be a pretty face and nothing more. Star-crossed lovers. Mix-matched eras. Two hearts, one shared destiny.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, CM Kane was fed a steady diet of sports, particularly baseball. Having this love of the game instilled in her at an early age, she found that nothing was better than getting lost in the game. Storytelling was another gift that was encouraged in her youth, and she’s taking to the written word to explore a new aspect to the game she loves.
This time travel romance is a short one. It is told in a dual POV format. The beginning was a good one but I felt the ending was wrapped up very quickly. I wish there was more to the story especially nearing the end. It felt very rushed and not very satisfying.
I started this looking for a light read and that's exactly what I got. Not exactly a "romance" but I enjoyed the characters' "relationship". The dual POV makes it easier to read. Took me less than an hour. The second part rushes a little bit, but it's what can be expected, I guess. Overall, quick and good enough. Not great, not bad, just good.
