This is the story about why you are here on planet Earth. There is something special about everyone. The life we live and the life we always want to live is different but how can you fulfill your dreams shows in this book. This book is about the journey of twelve most successful people living in the world today. They share their stories and reveal everything one's needs to live their dream. The book consists of four parts with the struggle faced by the heroes of this story.

Part One - The Dream

Whatever circumstances you were born into, whatever family life and education you had or didn't have, you came here to make your dreams come true, and no matter where you are now, you are fully equipped with everything you need to do it. It's not the conditions of the outside world that determine whether or not your dreams will be fulfilled. By realizing your dreams, you will realize the greatness in you. The author described that every single person born with some unique talent or ability and no matter how impossible that dream seems to be, you are being called to follow it. When you refuse the call from life to follow your dreams, you run the risk of living an unfulfilled and unhappy life & you will feel regret it in the future.

Even if you don't know yet what your dream is, there's something you can do right now that will accelerate your dream materializing: give your best to whatever you're currently doing. Follow your bliss and follow it with all of your heart. Although you can't see the whole way ahead, your bliss is the thread that will lead you to all of your dreams.

"Take a job that you love. I think you are out of your mind if you keep taking jobs that you don't like because you think it will look good on your resume. Isn't that a little like saving up sex for your old age?" - Warren Buffett

Part Two - The Hero

To believe in yourself is perhaps the most powerful ability you have available to you. Your belief will carry you through every difficult situation or circumstance. If you don't believe in yourself today it just means that in your life you have accepted thoughts about yourself that other people put upon you and you believed them to be true. Remind yourself that you have incredibly powerful abilities and all you need to do is take one step at a time. People think you are a liar when you're visualizing your dreams because they think, that's not happening. That's not here. But it's absolutely here because if you can think about it. It can happen. There are always going to be both positive and negative experiences. But if you consistently look for the good and maintain a positive attitude you will triumph. If you have a burning desire for your dream, then you will have all the determination you need to make it a reality.

"Success is achieved twice. Once in the mind and the second time in the real world." - Azim Premji

Part Three - The Quest

Many people give up on their dreams or don't even begin to pursue them because from where they are standing they can't see the whole path of their dream. No successful person has ever known how his or her dream would happen. They simply believed that it would happen, and didn't give up until it had. Your dream will never end up being smaller than what you thought. It will only become greater, in ways you could never have imagined. Every obstacle or challenge you encounter on the Hero's journey transforms you as you acquire the strength of character and the qualities you need to overcome the challenge.

"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great." - Mark Twain

Part Four - Victory

The ultimate reward for the success of your dream does not mark the end of the journey, but the beginning of another. Experiencing the rewards from realizing a dream is glorious, and every person who fulfills their dream deserves each and every one of those rewards. You can help others with your time or resources. At the end of the Hero's journey, you will discover that the eternal happiness you've been looking for is in the discovery of who you really are.

This book is very inspiring and motivating. This book tells us that nothing is impossible. The author uses quotes from others to inspire. All you need to believe in your instinct. I would highly recommend this book and it's worth your time and money.

If whatever you do help just one person, you've done something wonderful." - Blake Mycoskie

Talks about the discovery of abilities one have and how to use them to overcome any and every obstacle in the outside world.

Whatever we hold in our subconscious mind is what happens in life. This is because any new program in our subconscious mind is immediately transferred to the Universal Mind and once the Universe has the instructions it will work with us to make sure we achieve what we believe in.

A positive mind and an optimistic attitude are an incredibly powerful tool to realize dreams because thoughts and attitude become life eventually.

Intuition is a flash of knowledge that comes with a very strong and compelling feeling when we receive it. The feeling urges us to go or not to go a particular way with something happening in our lives. It is important we do not busy our thoughts with worry or anguish, as we might miss hearing the solution from the Universe.

Hero: The Secret by Rhonda Byrne is a motivational book that promises to inspire and show us all how to search for, find, and live our dreams. The book gives the message that all of us are heroes in their own way and instructs how to fulfill our dreams. I believe it is one of the most ambitious projects taken up by its publishers, Atria Books, a division of Simon & Schuster.

The author does not need any introduction. She is the author of the monster hit, and one of the bestselling books of the 20th century, The Secret, and also the creator and executive producer of The Secret movie.

Her new book, Hero, like most of her previous books, is simple enough. It follows twelve of the world's most successful men and women, sharing their wisdom and insight. It shows the readers how they can also be heroes, and that the secret to being a hero may just lie within them, waiting to be released. It shows how one can be triumphant and the secret to become prosperous is solely within oneself.

If you are willing to be swept off your feet like you allowed yourself to be with The Secret, then this book is for you. It’s more of the same, finely tuned and rehashed for all trusting people like us.

What I liked about HERO:

It is motivating and inspirational. Open any page in the book, and you will get something to uplift you. Think of any ingredient to success, and you will probably find a section devoted to it. Motivation, vision, gratitude, never quitting etc.

What i did not like about HERO:

- The book lacked coherence. There are no complete stories of the Heroes featured in the book. In stead, it is more like a book of quotations from the featured Heroes. Rhonda did not have very much to say throughout, rather than give a few examples from her life supporting the topic discussed.

- The book contradicted itself at a few places, and went against some of the ideas presented in The Secret (Focusing more on the concepts of hard-work, competition, consistency, determination than effortlessness, abundance etc.).

While the section on intuition encourages us to go by our gut feeling, and trusting the first insight we receive from our Universal Mind, on page 66 we are told to "think things through more carefully before taking big action".

While Rhonda talks about someone who, after committed to his dream, saw amazing effortless co-incidences within just 2 weeks, on page 139 one featured Hero says "it's a cinch by the inch, it's hard by the yard". And on page 132 another Hero implies that we should not believe in instant gratification and "if it hasn't happened yet, keep trying". Doesn't that mean that life is tough and we need to work hard to get to our dreams? Doesn't this go against the Law of Attraction and The Secret, that teach us to believe in abundance and instant manifestation if we are aligned with the Source?

- Maybe this is just a personal thing. But I did not relate to any of the Heroes featured in the book. It might be because of the lack of continuity. If the book told complete stories of these heroes, it would have made a more inspirational read, and also helped us get a bigger picture of the lives of these people.

Also (maybe it is just my bad general knowledge), I had not heard of many of these contributors. No doubt they are very successful in their careers. But I think one of the reasons they were chosen was because they all have foundations and charities to which a part of the revenue from the sale of this book is contributed. This is in lines with the final step of a Hero's journey where they help others who are less fortunate.

- There were many ideas that I did not agree with. According to the book, every HERO has to face a final Supreme Ordeal before success. And that ordeal is the biggest challenge we all face. "On the Hero's journey there is a final challenge you will face before the reward of success". This might be true for some people, and true in super-hero movies, but does not necessarily apply to every hero's journey.

- Rhonda implies that at the end of journey when we finally "arrive" at our destination, with all the fame, glory and money (The Reward) a final step remains. And that is to help others less fortunate. "Something colossal happens to you on your Hero's journey. You undergo a transformation, and through that transformation you are driven to take one more step on the journey. It's the final step. In taking this final step you become a true hero, and the Hero's Journey is complete"

But does helping someone always have to happen at the end of the journey? Is it another "step"? Shouldn't helping others happen all along the journey? And does the journey ever end? Do we ever really arrive? I don't think so.

Overall, while inspirational, this book has not lived up to my expectations. If you are young, just starting out on your journey, HERO will have a lot of golden nuggets of advice. But if you are already on your journey, the book will just be a refresher of things that you already probably know.

"Here is a test to find whether your mission on earth is finished. If you're alive, it isn't."
-Richard Bach, Illusions

HERO is predominately the ideas of Joseph Campbell and "The Hero's Journey" and there is a strong emphasis on entrepreneurism. I also notice some similarities with Mormonism and "The Great Plan of Happiness". This book is certainly inspiring & encouraging, but one of the weaker books in The Secret Series. All the contributors in this book are either athletes or entrepreneurs which may limit some readers' connection to the message.

I initially bought HERO when it was first released in 2013, I started it but didn't get very far. Kind of how I felt with book three in the series,The Magic, which I gave away and haven't tried again.

I picked HERO up again in 2017 after re-reading The Secret and The Power. In 2020, I read HERO three times (twice within about a month due to my sudden increased free reading time thanks to the worldwide pandemic & my need for positive influences during this time). In 2017, I felt HERO was only worth re-reading from time to time. In 2020, I've decided to re-read HERO every year like I do with THE SECRET and THE POWER.

In 2021, I read Rhonda Byrne's newest installment in the series, The Greatest Secret, which became my new favorite of Secret books.

As a side note, I rather like the colorful book cover and map illustration theme of Hero.

Favorite Passages:

No one is born into a perfect life. If you were, you wouldn't have anything to strive for, and you wouldn't have the urge to create something with your life.
-Rhonda Byrne

By realizing your dreams, you will realize the greatness in you. Greatness is not being born with a silver spoon in your mouth. Following your dreams and realizing the hero within you is greatness.
-Rhonda Byrne

In our world of duality, every disadvantage contains its opposite, an advantage. . .
-Rhonda Byrne

. . . there is something good buried within every seemingly bad situation. Life is not about the negative circumstances that happen to you, it's about what you do with the golden opportunities hidden within!

You're never called to follow a dream unless there are multiple ways for you to fulfill it. It's downright impossible for you to have a dream if you can't at the very least make the essence of that dream come true. Your dreams are calling you to the best life you can have; they are calling you to find the hero within you.

-Rhonda Byrne

Your calling might be something you have daydreamed about being or doing that you thought could never happen for you, but when you think about doing that particular thing and living that life you're filled with an incredible feeling of happiness and fulfillment.
-Rhonda Byrne

The most important thing people need to do is take responsibility for their actions. It's very easy to blame your upbringing or lack of money or lack of this or that. But if you stop and say, "You know what? There is no one ultimately responsible for my life but myself," that is the really important step you can take to realize that you have to shape things up. You have to change your mind-set.
-Michael Acton Smith

A lot of people look at successful people and just shrug it off and say, "Oh, they've been lucky." But in life you make your own luck, and when those opportunities come you are ready to jump on them.
-Michael Acton Smith

Opportunities are in front of everybody every day. It's almost like a train station; everybody is in the station, there are trains that stop in front of people, but they have their eyes closed. They don't have their eyes open to see and get onto that train. Opportunities are everywhere.
-Anastasia Soare

You do not need a big dream to do big things. Just be open to life's opportunities.
-G. M. Rao

. . . true happiness comes from fulfilling your dreams. Imagine what it would be like to get to the end of your life with no regrets. Imagine reflecting back on everything you did, and you are filled with the greatest feeling of satisfaction.
-Rhonda Byrne

You know that saying, "Don't die with your music still inside of you"? People have things they dream of when they lay their head on the pillow at night. And if you don't honor that voice, it doesn't go anywhere. It's an energy that lives inside of you. You can't negate that energy. It's part of the fiber of who you are as a person. So if you put your head down on the pillow at night and you are called to do something in this world and you ignore that, then that dream is still locked inside of you. To me that's the worst thing . . . to die with your music inside of you.
-Liz Murray

The absolute frustration of humankind - what do I do with my life?
-Peter Foyo

What do you want? Put your hand on your heart and ask yourself, what do I want? The first thing that comes to mind is always the right one.
-Layne Beachly

. . . you have potential inside you that no one else on the planet has. Let go of all the limiting thoughts of what you think is possible for you, and open your mind to all possibilities. If you could let go of all the baggage you've accumulated in your life and wake up in the morning as though brand new, with a clean slate, every incredible possibility would be free to pour into your life!
-Rhonda Byrne

People look outside of themselves, but you know once you look inside yourself.
-Layne Beachley

We don't always know what we want, but we sure know what we don't want. Stop doing or thinking about what you don't want, and move on. It's like, if the train ride's a bad one, get off. You'll never experience anything else if you don't get off that train. Then you leave yourself open to something else.
-John Paul DeJoria

Look at those moments where you're feeling blissful, moments when time just flies by, when you really feel lit up, when you really feel inspired. Think about, "Where have I been most inspired? Where have I really been happy?" Even if it was a few moments in your life, those are doorways showing you what your dream is about.
-Mastin Kapp

Some people will hit upon their big dream the moment they start thinking about their future.
-G. M. Rao

What would you do if you could do anything? What would you do if money weren't a consideration at all? What would you do if success were guaranteed? When you ask any question, or you ask a question about your purpose, the Universe will transmit the answer to you. The answer doesn't come from your conscious mind; otherwise you would already know it. The answer comes form the Universal Mind . . .
The answer will come into your mind in a flash, most likely when you're focused on something else altogether. Don't second-guess the answer when you get it, but think of one small step you can take toward it.

-Rhonda Byrne

If you've stopped asking questions, start asking them again.
- Paul Orfalea

Find people who have been on that journey, or ask people who are coming back from the road that you want to go down. Ask, "How did you do it?" Put yourself in an environment where people are doing the thing you want to do. Consume massive amounts of inspiring information, whether it's books or DVDs or CDs, because when you do that you're thinking the thoughts of the greatest people in the world.
-Mastin Kipp

You have to be clear. Clarity is what gives you power. Take the time to get clear on what you want and then you'll start taking a step toward it. But if you don't know what you want then you'll allow life to dictate the terms to you.
-Layne Beachley

If you are dreaming about something and nothing's happening, write out what you want to achieve and have it in front of you when you wake up in the morning. One way or another, if you're focused on it, the mind leads you in that direction. Whatever the mind can conceive and believe it will achieve. The more you have something on your mind, the more it is going to happen.
-John Paul DeJoria

There's nothing wrong with small dreams. Big dreams are for people who are consciously willing to risk everything they have in life. There are small dreams, there are big dreams, and there are crazy dreams. It takes a certain personality to go so crazy.
-Anastasia Soare

Make the choice to do something that makes you feel good on a daily basis. How many people do that? How many people identify what makes them feel good and then commit that time to themselves on a daily basis?
-Layne Beachley

Along with our family and our relationships, the job we do is one of the most important parts of our life. It's certainly somewhere you spend most of your waking hours, so it should be something enjoyable; it should be something that you are passionate about and that you care about.
-Michael Acton Smith

Money and security are very important to everyone. Personal satisfaction and passion for a particular thing you do is more important. That is why it is important to dream.
-G. M. Rao

When your work is your bliss, you will be happy. Doing a job you think you should do instead of doing what you love is leading a false life.
-Rhonda Byrne

You can have it all. No matter how unrelated you think your bliss might be to a bigger dream, follow your bliss and follow it with all of your heart. Although you can't see the whole way ahead, your bliss is the thread that will lead you to all of your dreams!
-Rhonda Byrne

All the programs in your subconscious mind have been put there by thought, and it's thought and thought alone that will create a new program and override the new one.
-Rhonda Byrne

You've got to visualize where you're headed and be very clear about it. Take a Polaroid picture of where you're going to be in a few years.
-Sara Blakely

When you sketch . . . When you write notes about your dream, your mind automatically forms a vision from your notes. Either way, you're visualizing.
-Rhonda Byrne

Success is achieved twice. Once in the mind and the second time in the real world.
-Azim Premji

People think you're an outright liar when you're visualizing, because they think, "That's not happening. That's not here." Oh, yes it is. Absolutely it's here, because if you can think it, it can happen.
-Peter Foyo

When you use visualization successfully, the people around you will wonder how it can be that all of a sudden everything is going your way, and everything works out for you as though you're some kind of superhuman. And you will know that you're just using one of the simplest, but most powerful abilities you were born with, and which is available to every human being on the planet.
-Rhonda Byrne

If someone offered you the life of your dreams in exchange for you finding as many good things every day as you could, you would do it in a flash. Well, that is the way you receive the life of your dreams!
-Rhonda Byrne

Try to operate on a daily basis with a quieted mind, not a mind that's always second-guessing and wondering if you're worthy. Negative thoughts like, "I don't know if I can handle this," "This is too big for me," "I've never been here before," "In the past I've come up short here or there," draw your focus away from performing like you're capable. We are likely to carry those thoughts with us and we won't be as good as we could be.
-Pete Carroll

The mind of a hero is a predominantly positive mind. The attitude of a hero is consistently optimistic. Together, a positive mind and an optimistic attitude are an incredibly powerful tool to realize your dreams, because your thoughts and your attitude become your life!
-Rhonda Byrne

My philosophy in business is to make small bets, and if something works we do more of it, and if it doesn't we dust ourselves off and go back to the drawing board.
-Michael Acton Smith

Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.
-Steve Jobs

Next thing would be, don't spread rumors. You don't know the whole truth about something. And it's just not a good frequency to put out to the planet. Put out positive frequencies. You put out negative ones it's going to slow you and everything around you down.
-John Paul DeJoria

The goal is to put out positive energy and feel positive about your life. That's where the work is. That's why the true revolution is a personal revolution.
-Tom Shadyac

Whether we go the way of the hero is decided by our behavior and they way we treat others. The hero is kind and humble, and so the way of the hero is one of kindness and humility. Our behavior will either be stepping-stones that propel us forward on our journey to our dream, or stepping-stones that take us backward. The choice is ours.
-Rhonda Byrne

The path to your dreams is like being in a labyrinth. All you can see is the next few feet ahead of you. You can't see what's around the next turn until you go around it, and then you see the next few feet after that. Sometimes there are dead ends and you have to turn back, and sometimes there are shortcuts that you stumble upon as if by magic and which accelerate your passage. The path to your dreams unfolds exactly the same way.
-Rhonda Byrne

I was not disturbed by the criticism as much as I felt like I was going down the right path.
-Peter Burwash

Be careful letting other people define things for you. People have their opinions and they're very quick to tell you what's possible and what's impossible. It's unfortunate the conviction that people speak with. No one knows what's possible until they're already doing it. No one.
-Liz Murray

If you take the time to reflect back on some of your so-called failures and mistakes, or setbacks and disappointments, you realize they are all necessary parts of your journey.
-Layne Beachley

Had I really succeeded at anything else, I might never have found the determination to succeed in the one area where I truly belonged. I was set free, because my greatest fear had been realized, and I was still alive, and i still had a daughter whom I adored, and I had an old typewriter, and a big idea. And so rock bottom became a solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.
-J. K. Rowling

Two years into John Paul Mitchell Systems I realized something; had I not worked for those three companies that fired me, it would have been virtually impossible to start John Paul Mitchell Systems, because each company taught me something. Even though I was fired, it was like the Universe was moving me on, teaching me various things along the way, whether I knew it or not.
-John Paul DeJoria

If whatever you do helps just one person, you've done something wonderful.
-Blake Mycoskie

In the end, what we make of this life all comes down to interpretation. It's the story we tell ourselves about who we are and why we're here that determines the quality of our experience . The good news is, you can change that story any time, for you are and always will be the sole author of your life

The goosebumps started on the first page! Inspiring and also surprising, it is just amazing the way energy flows from this book.

I am already a fan of The Secret The Power and especially The Magic,
but this book was different and actually I was surprised.

This is the book to suggest or give to friends who do not believe in The Secret or never have heard of it. While it is meant for everyone, I think it will be especially powerful for teenagers and young people, who may not know who and how wonderful they are. They will after they read this.

I'm not normally so critical of what I read. I try to find the good in it somewhere. But this book condescends to me, like I'm a rube. I don't really see the point in this book; a series of short anecdotal vignettes on this handful of über successful people. I feel that Ms. Byrne is capitalizing on their successes, to sell her book, in order to create her own success. That seems cheap & lazy to me! They each found their individual successes without the help of any of Ms. Byrne's cheesy, how-to books, starting with The Secret. If they found theirs, without help from any of so many of these "get happy" shyster writers, then I can too!

Another great read from Rhonda Byrne. Her books always get me pumped and I instantly feel motivated just holding one of her books. This book talks about the Hero that's inside of each one of us and how if we dare to pursue our true dreams and follow our bliss, that miracles happen. Will definitely be a keeper and will reread for years to come. Five stars!

Terrible ! What a waste of my money man. Does nothing in terms of even basic inspiration as it literally is a bunch of snippets about people's life and how they overcame their challenges etc. Stuff you can find online easily if you want. I really think now Rhonda Byrne and her team are running out of ideas how to reinvent their own book and failing at it miserably!

Not recommended at all!

I listened to Hero while cleaning my room not realising it was a self-help book. I don’t think I could ever finish this book if I had read it instead.
The worst part is, that it had a beautiful opening with background music that made me wholehearted believe it would be a beautiful fiction book, about the secret of finding the hero in yourself - but no.

Note: I have not read any other books by Rhonda Byrne so I’m not sure how the book relates to The Secret series.

Hero is a motivational and inspirational book. This is a short resume of what this book will feed you; find your bliss (essentially your dream), always be grateful, take chances, visualise and believe in your dream, and don’t ever give up (we cannot forget that one).
I will say, it is inspirational but is built upon the idea that the visualisation of your dream (essentially manifesting) is what will make you achieve your dream. two examples of this. one is when a boy finally committed to his dream;

“…. True to his words he resigned on the exact day he had committed himself to, with nothing but a dream and his commitment to it. Here is what the universe lined up for him.

A successful local shaper
(I think that is what she says?), let him come and watch him shape surfboards. He was given free shaping lessons from another shaper, who showed him how to make some shaping tools, to save even more money.
A graphic designer helped him with the logo for his new business, free of charge.
A surf supply store gave him wholesale prices on items he needed. He was given equipment, lights, and shelling from his dad, to set up his shaving studio.
And he was offered free rent on a space, to set up his studio, which has the most breathtaking views of the ocean and California coast that anyone could dream of having.
And wherever he goes, people are asking him to shave surfboards for them.
All of this happened in just two weeks”

I was flabbergasted when I heard this. Two weeks? Damn, I wish that was me.

“Believe things will take care of themself if you just focus on your mission or your goals and you will be provided for because of the effort you put forth.”

All this completely fails to take into consideration, for example, social status that plays a huge role in people's opportunities. Even if “just starting up your own business (if that’s your bliss)” is not an accessible choice for just anyone (in general everything depends on the society we live in). It fails to take into consideration that not all ideas will work out with hard work and the belief that a dream will come true - it also depends on luck. I will not say that manifestation and visualisation don’t work - I love manifestations, I do it myself and it keeps my vision clean but I do not rely on them as my sole hope.

Anyways, here is some quotes that I marked to finish off my precious review.

“…. the biggest reason you will fail, is if your past success goes to your head.”

“Every single person who ever been born, or will be born, comes with some unique talent or ability. It's this special thing about you that is your calling”

In conclusion. Don’t waste your time

Kind of more of the same idea behind the secrecy book: Think and Achieve, Believe in Yourself, Create first in your mind and then make it happen. The difference in this book is that they you the hero's journey as a guide to present those ideas. Anyways, I find it very inspirational.

In this book she also explores charity and gratitude.

Review first published on my blog: http://memoriesfrombooks.blogspot.com...

The Secret - Hero is the fourth book in the series in Rhonda Byrne. The first was the international bestseller, The Secret, which was preceded by the movie of the same title. Then came The Power, The Magic, and now this book.

The essence of this book is that we are - each of us - the heroes of our own story, and it is up to us to make of our story what we will.

The book is organized into four sections - dream, hero, quest, and victory. Chapters within each section explore each idea further. Each chapter presents the author's text. Intertwined in that text are the stories of twelve contributors to the book. They come from different walks of life, but each in his or her own way has found success. Quotes from them and occasional other quotes reinforce the ideas of each section.

I enjoy the idea, and the book. I do not care for the organization of the book. I started by reading the book as written. I kept losing the thread of the author's words and then each of the individual stories.

Then, I went back and read it the way it makes more sense to me. I went through the book several times, following each thread separately. Read this way, the same picture develops but from a different perspective. I find myself more involved in the book and the ideas as I read one point of view from beginning to end.

Every once in awhile we need a reminder, that as souls on this earth we owe it to ourselves to find, initiate and achieve our greatest passion. Only then, will we leave this lifetime fulfilled. I think we all innately know this, but this book outlines it in a way that we " remember" and teaches us steps to move towards our own unique path. Twelve individuals, who have found their passions though they each faced great adversity, are highlighted in "Hero". A wonderful book to begin a new year with...I highly recommend.

"What can I do, how loud can I yell, for everyone to hear me that you are a hero? Every single human being is a hero. You can be a hero in your own world."

Heroes boleh jadi Batman, Superman, Kluang Man, Abam Spider-Man, bla bla bla..

Heroes juga boleh jadi timah, khalid, syed, faizal tahir (assalamualaikum dunia), munzir, jessica, sabariah, tasnim, bla bla bla

Adiwira.
Akhirnya sempurna.

One of the best books from the secret series. This is what I needed now. In simple language it explains a whole lot about life and with real life heroes giving us examples we can relate to the book more. An amazing self help book and yes one thing is for certain we should always be grateful and never ever give up. We all have the hero within and this book proves just that. :-)

I've read all of Rhonda Byrne books (totally hooked after reading The Secret). This book is very inspiring and motivating (as are all her books). I love hearing stories from successful people: people who have followed their goals and are living their dreams. This book lets us know it is possible, you just have to believe.

3.5 stars. Listened to this one. Byrne narrates and has actors do the voices of real life people she has interviewed. It's well done. I really enjoyed this book and found it uplifting and inspirational. For people who expect a lot of new or different material from Byrne, it might be disappointing. However, I found it to be an excellent reminder and would recommend it.

The book made me realize my dream and more enough, motivate to work towards it. Bought me out of the labyrinth i was stuck in, which no amount of any therapy could. After a long while actually made me take a risk, a life-changing one and i'm actually glad i did it. I believe in following my heart now, no matter how hard it is and that the little steps would lead us to our dreams. No book other than The Secret would have helped in it more than now and its only right to return the favor!

Everyone of you out there, you are a hero and if you don't believe in yourselves, no one else will. So, get out of your comfort zone and do what scares you. It will be more than worth it, following your dream. I will promise you that and if you need any help, anything at all, someone to talk to,i will be right there. If you feel like there's no way out, hopeless and your dreams are worthless ,know that you are facing it because you are getting closer to your dream, even though it might not feel so, at the moment! But first go ahead and read this book. For, you are a hero and i believe in you!

I have all of Rhonda Byrne's books and I love every single one of them. Her books probably fall under such genres as motivational, inspirational and self-help. Rhonda has a way of writing, and using quotes from others, that is so enjoyable to me. In Hero she features twelve people in our world today who overcame great odds to then become big successes. I was thrilled to find out that Liz Murray was one of the twelve. Liz's memoir, Breaking Night, is one of my favorite memoirs. As I read Rhonda's books I just substitute the term "the universe" with Heavenly Father, God and the Lord. It works great for me. :)

As i have been living "The Secret" ever since i read, i was attracted to this book. I found it uplifting and inspirational. The essence of this book is "The Hero" is inside each one of us. We all have dreams, But we think 'I've got time to follow my dreams.' In fact, We don't have time. Life is short. IT IS NOW OR NEVER. If we don't do it now, we will keep putting it off, and never do it.

Book continues to give goosebumps with the real examples and quotations from the world's successful people. Where they have changed the negative circumstances into a golden opportunity.

I highly recommend this book.

P.S.I always wanted this book. And i was gifted on my birthday.

This book came highly recommended by a dear friend and I absolutely loved it. It was written with ease so the reading was as if you were listening to her tell a story and interview people along the journey. It was very inspiring and a great reminder about being selfless and following your dream. I loved reading about other peoples trials and hardships they experienced because it allowed me to connect with known names and realize they are human like me and you. They faced hardship but never gave up. They kept going, connecting those dots, picking up those nuggets and never gave up. Very inspiring. Time to watch the Secret movie now and read the other 3 books.

It is an uplifting book! Though a few points in the book contradict each other, I found the hero journeys inspirational and empowering. It is a feel good book if you want it to be. The 'magic' behind the stories will only have an magical influence on you and on how you feel if you embrace it and really believe in the principle of gratitude and positive thinking! You can choose to think this is rubbish and go on about your daily routines or you can choose to remember at least a few positive highlights and incorporate into your own world. However you define success is...
