This was a great short storied book to read and I can’t wait to hear about how grumpy Mac finds love.

I do wish for how evil Rachel was made out to be that she would have gotten more than just crying on her wedding day. Maybe Jason leaving her… I dunno. Something more final. I also wish there was a little more spice in this book, while you can relate to these characters so much - there was a lot of talk of desire and lust and being turned on but only just kisses and suggestive scenes. Kind of made the moments bland.

Overall a good read tho.

I was given a free copy of this book from Voracious readers only in exchange for a review so here we go.

This is a cute, heartwarming small town, closed door, romance.

The setting is Alaska, so not the usual “in the middle of the mountains- who know were”. The island of Darling is the location of Sarah’s family lodge she needs to go back to to support her family when her mother gets injured. Needless to say, she’s not happy at all to have to leave LA for Darling.

Will, from Seattle, is a successful construction business man with a failing marriage and a harsh divorce coming up. He finds himself wanting to be anywhere but where his (soon to be) ex wife is.

Cute and quick read I read in 2 evenings instead of watching a movie!

I absolutely loved this book! I loved the back story of both main characters before they met each other and why they are feeling and doing the things they are doing and the fact it takes place in Alaska, I haven't read too many books that take place there which was a great change. But overall I loved the character development and the relationship developments, I felt like the characters grew and we could experience it from their perspective as things changed. Highly recommend for a quick more lighthearted romance read!

This is the first book from this author that I have read but it will definitely not be the last. I enjoy second chance romance novels and this is one of the best. Both Sarah and Will have loved and lost, now they have a second chance to get it right with each other. They have a few misunderstandings and problems with other people in their lives but they get their HEA finally. I recommend this book to all second chance romance readers.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I'll begin by saying that this is certainly NOT "some kind of dramatic Victorian romance novel." 😄

'A Darling Handyman' is a feel-good modern-day fairytale. It's a story that allows the reader to escape into a world where all the pieces fall right where they belong. If you love a good rom-com, then this one's definitely for you!

I know this book was short but I felt like the charecters were very surface level and I didn’t connect with them. I feel like we were missing out on some scenes and were just getting the after affect… I would love to try this author again and hope that it was this book that I didn’t agree with. I feel like if this book was a little more and went into some more details I would have liked this book a little more!

This is a new author for me. I really enjoyed this book and the characters, and it was a romance with just a sprinkle of mystery. I definitely felt for our heroine, Sarah. She left Alaska and wasn’t planning to go home any time soon, but life has other plans for you. She has a job she’s good at and when her boss asks her to take an after-hours meeting/appointment she does but when she meets the ‘client’ her life is going to change. Her brother Maverick (Mac) is the one who has spun a story with Sarah’s boss and is the ’client’ she is meeting. He’s there to bring her home. I have to admit I am not the biggest fan of Mac and especially with the way he treats her and expects her to change her life in a matter of hours. Of course, she goes along, and they fly out the next day. She goes home to the family lodge and can already see that it needs major work, and her parents can’t help since her mother had an accident and her father is taking care of her. You know that she doesn’t want to be there but steps up because she has to. She has also put an ad out for a handyman and Will Brooks from Seattle answers the ad and he himself is still dealing with the fallout from his soon to be ex-wife and ex-best friend/business partner. These two definitely hit it off when he starts working with her on updating the lodge. Unfortunately, we find out that Mac didn’t tell her the whole truth about needing to come home and that definitely starts strife within the family, and I wasn’t a huge fan of the way her family pretty much lied to her. We also have Will having to deal with fallout himself when his soon-to-be ex shows up as well and I have to say I never liked her from when she first shows up in the story and Sarah finds out he is technically still married. So much is going on in this book to keep track of. We also find out more about Sarah and her past and her boyfriend who went missing and her part in that, which I was a tad concerned about at first but when you truly find out what happened, it was never her fault. Sarah also finds out some life changing news and I couldn’t believe that Mac of all people decided to find Will and bring him back to Alaska. I’m definitely intrigued by Natasha and would love to know more about her. Great ending for these two and I’m interested in the next book which is Mac’s book, and I definitely need to check it out.

Don’t Read or Listen if Facing a Potential Bad Divorce or Legal Issues

The book's cover and description at the book review site I downloaded this book from gave me a very different impression of what the book would be than it actually is. The cover certainly has a small-town vibe. So I was surprised when the book didn't start out in the small town, though it did get there eventually. A minor quibble, as that was certainly not the worst aspect of this book. The book has a shockingly terrible beginning for the hero. In general, I'm a fan of authors “showing, not telling” crucial book moments, but I would have preferred for us just to be told about the hero’s horrible ex. Instead, we have to witness scenes where she is just going after him in every way semi-legally possible, even though she's the one who cheated on him and wants to sever their relationship. I say semi-legally because I don't actually believe what happens in those early scenes would be legal in any state. I've been through a divorce, and judges—let alone mediators—want to see an equitable split, and if it is not so, there has to be a reason for it. What I also don't like about the author showing it this way is that it might frighten people who may be in the midst of the divorce process or are considering it. They may think it will go as horribly wrong for them as it did for the hero. I am going through a legal issue myself right now—nothing to do with a divorce, but a family matter—and these things were just too much for me. I had to stop the book, and I will not be returning to it. I sincerely hope the second book is better without unspoken potential triggers. You make it farther than I did if you don't have this in your past, present, or potential future.

TRIGGERS: bad divorce, harrowing (though unrealistic) legal troubles

I received a promo code for this audiobook, but that did not affect my review.

A Darling Handyman is about Will Brooks and Sarah Carter and is located in the small Alaskan town of Darling. There are not many residents, so anyone new or those returning to town are a big deal. Will finds himself in Darling after a drunken night when he filled out a job application. His world had imploded, and he knew he needed to do something drastic. Will’s wife filed for divorce, took his business and their home, and was sleeping with his best friend and business partner. He was shocked when he got the call and was hired because he didn’t remember applying. Nonetheless, he leaves Seattle and heads to Alaska where he meets his new employer, Sarah and her cantankerous brother, Mac. Sarah is back in town after years away because her parents needed help running the family Inn. Sarah left after a painful event and didn’t look back, until her brother came to fetch her and bring her home. While neither was looking for love, Will and Sarah were hit by instalove.

The male and female narrators had pleasant voices and were enjoyable to listen to. The audio quality was exceptional. The narrator’s voice quality and character distinction, pacing and rhythm, and emotional delivery were all on point.

The unusual Carter family dynamic stood out because of how dysfunctional it was. There was a lot going on that Sarah wasn’t told about before she returned. I feel like the family ambushed her and didn’t have a lot of respect for the life she made for herself in Los Angeles. It was a beautiful thing that Will and Sarah were able to trust in each other, especially after all the reasons that had to mistrust each other and find love again. Overall, I really enjoyed the story and think the excellent narration added to the experience for me.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Sarah left her Alaskan home after the love of her life disappeared and was presumed dead. She's led a busy work life in California ever since, but her family has called her home to help in the family inn. Will believes he has it all, a successful business and marriage, and is ready to start a family, only to find out his wife is having an affair with his business partner and wants a divorce and his business. After a drunken email application, Will finds himself the handyman at Sarah's family's inn. Despite neither being interested in a relationship, they can't stay away from one another. This is their second chance at love if they can be brave.

I almost put this book down multiple times. The first time was Will's introduction. It's way too much. In no divorce court is the cheating wife who has not been a participant in the business going to get the divorce settlement in this book. I would swear it was written by a man who felt he had to pay too much support. All of us who have survived a divorce know how unrealistically this was portrayed. Add his ex-wife's vile temperament and manners and it actually put me in a bad mood. Then Sarah's family's duplicity. It simply wasn't necessary. Again with Sarah herself. I understand trauma and heartache. I don't want to read about someone being stuck, however. Get therapy, and move on. Living a half-life, punishing yourself, cutting off family and the home you loved don't work for me. I work in BH, I don't want to read about dysfunctional coping methods or avoidance issues that don't work and leave the character unhappy. That's not entertaining for me. Still, I kept hoping. It got a little better but I was still left mostly unsatisfied. The town and a few of its citizens hold promise for future books even if these characters didn't work for me.

Sarah Carter left Darling, Alaska when everything went wrong with her boyfriend, but her mother had an accident and needs help, so her brother, Maverick, came to pick her up and take her back to Alaska. She had vowed to never return home because Darling held too much personal pain. Will Brooks thought he had a good life with a million-dollar business, a loving wife and a future to live for. What he didn't know was that his loving wife had found more love with his business partner and she asked for a divorce. In complete shock, he takes off to take a job as a handyman in Darling, Alaska. He's vowed to stay away from women, but he had no idea that he would find the woman of his dreams at his new job in Alaska. I really enjoyed the story but it lacked an essential backstory for Sarah. She was crushed by something horrible that happened that makes her feel as if she killed her boyfriend. A mystery woman shares some of her sadness, but there's no real information that we're given, leaving it hanging. Even at the end, it's not fully clear. Did the boyfriend die? Was that his wife/other woman? I was left confused and disappointed. I have to admit that the conflict between Will and his pathetic excuse for a wife Rachel was the high point! The way she's written had me in stitches, especially since I have a girlfriend who could be her twin with all her demands that she be given everything her husband earned. The narration was very well done by John Joseph Rogers and Julie Cleburn. Their dynamic and expressive voices give life to each of the characters and give them a unique attitude and personality.

A semi-slow burn romance. Sarah is trying to live her life in LA all the while avoiding her family. It doesn't work out too well when her brother Mac comes to fetch her. Dragged back to Alaska to help run the family lodge, Sarah dreads being back and what that means. However, she can't run the lodge herself so she hires some help. Enter Will, a self-made millionaire who just had the rug pulled out from him. He takes Sarah's job offer to work at the lodge with the hopes of getting back on his feet. What could happen when instant attraction comes calling and the close proximity of their living quarters make it even harder to resist the pull of attraction?

I felt it was a little bit rushed in some areas and slow in others. One part that got to me was the constant reminder of how Sarah was not the best person or hiding something. And then we have Mac who seems very set in stone. Their character development points seem to be very little. The character had changes don't get me wrong but by the time the change happened I was a bit frustrated. It seemed like the author dragged out certain aspects and then rushed the rest. Instant attraction I get, however the forgiveness aspect could use some work. There were very little times the people actually apologized for their actions or explained themselves clearly. Most of the time forgiveness was given when the people exchanged drinks. Not sure if that was a choice or requisite for making up. I liked the premise of the story and the HEA. A quick read if you need a book that gets you straight there. I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author via Voracious Readers.

Great novel. My favorite character was Sarah. This took part in Darling Alaska. Mac had gone to Los Angeles to bring his sister home under the guise that their mother fell and got hurt and they needed Sarah to run the lodge. Will was a man that was hit with really bad news on his wedding anniversary. It seems his wife has been having an affair with his business partner and best friend and she served him divorce papers that night. She wanted his half of the shares in the company so she and his best friend would own the company outright. Will gave the receptionist a severance package that was really good if she didn’t want to stay with the company. So his wife and his best friend were left to figure out how the company was run. Will got drunk and applied to be a handyman at the lodge in Darling and they called him the next day and he moved there from Seattle. Will and Sarah became lovers and then Rachel showed up and pretended like Will was still her husband and then that drove a wedge between Sarah and Will. Max found out that Sarah was pregnant with Wills baby and went to Seattle to get Will to come back to Darling where Will told Sarah about everything and Sarah told Will about the baby. Of course everything went okay after all that Drama. The suspense, conflicts, romance, and deceits made this a great story to read. I would recommend it to everyone. I received a free copy of this book and I am freely leaving a review for this story. Thank you for a great well written novel.

A Darling Handyman by Lark Holiday Book Review.

I was sent a copy of this book through @Voraciousreadersonly

I had shivers just from reading the Prologue. The characters in this Book are so well written that I felt what they felt. You love and hate characters for their decisions. These characters bring so much emotion from their pasts but ultimately come together and it's Beautiful to see. That is what kept the pages turning for me. Proof that everyone deserves a second chance at Love and Happiness.

The sub storylines in this book provided unexpected twists.

Sara and Will meet in a blaze offering a unique yet captivating scene.

The irony of knowing Sara's secret and Will being clueless but also the unknown of what actually happened kept me reading.

These characters save each other continuously.

A Lie that brought a family back together for good and bad. Memories of the past that haunt the characters but also a chance to move on and start over in the best way and with the best people beside them.

The POV chapters helps us to get a greater feel for the characters and their thoughts. Through everyone's POV we get the full story.

Tormented by the past but able to navigate through life in love.

And I cannot forget to mention Bart the Dog. This story just wouldn't be the same without you.

Highly recommend it and can't wait to read the second book.

Despite being a voracious reader, I am going to give the best review of this book to appeal to any person who intends to read this book.

A darling Handyman tells us a really interesting story about a man who loses everything and has to start afresh in a small town. A girl who has everything but no fulfillment is lied to and has to go back to the small town.

On reading, I realized that, as fiction, the book is largely unrealistic. But we, romance readers love it for that fact.

The hero and heroine both annoyed me for being so secretive over things. The hero had little backbone until the main characters brother talked to him, and it was this whole thing. And the wife? Don't even get me started on her. Her character is eerily stereotypical.

But, despite all that, I'm absolutely in love with this book. The simplicity and dialogue and weirdness and quirkiness of the characters. The fact that, despite making horrible decisions, they still had a moral compass and knew what to do. Mmmmm. I love that. It brings out the humanity in them.

To be very very honest, I absolutely and will most definitely recommend this book again and again. It captivated me and kept me reading till the very end.

If you love a simple, not so complicated book and don't mind a bit of cliches, this is the book for you.

This book is challenging and a delight to read. Please read it. It's genuinely amazing. I can't stop thinking about it.

This sounded like it could be fun and bits of were, but more bits of it were kinda … dull and/or dragged out. The leads were likable, but would go off on unrelated and/or over-explaining tangents, for example. Doesn’t really make for a good, fast pace.

Written in alternating, third-person POV.
Golddigging ex who was kinda fun to date.
Cheating ex (with his best friend).
Two leads who’ve been burned before and “aren’t looking for romance”.
Second-chance at love.
Small town vibes.
Set in Alaska.
Forced proximity.
Characters who use spirits to cope with EVERYthing.
Slow-burn.

Overall: 3 stars

The writing could be stronger. This is very slow-paced and at times, dull due to much ‘telling’ writing style where things would be better shown.

Also … using some analogies, etc. that really don’t make sense. Dude’s whiskey “whispered an idea to him” … really? As a person who takes things literally, this sort of thing can be jarring and/or just a drag. Or when a grown man actively learns the hard way that just because a person is pretty on the outside, doesn’t mean she’s pretty in the inside too? Really!?! This doesn’t go without saying or wasn’t learned before now at least?

Audio:
Not great, but not terrible? There was some external noise for some parts, almost like a static … and the narrators were okaaayyy but semi-robotic. 3 stars.

Sarah is running from her past. She moved from her small hometown in Alaska to Los Angeles and has not been back home in years. Something tragic happened that made her run from home and never look back. Her brother has had enough of her avoidance and he comes to Los Angeles and forces her back home. Will has been blindsided by his best friend and his wife, on their anniversary his wife serves him with divorce papers and then demands his portion of their company and at their lawyers office gives him a save the date with his friend and her wedding (which she has already planned). When faced with what to do now he answers an add to be a handyman in Alaska and ends up ad the Inn that Sara and her family own. What starts as a business relationship leads to more. Will and Sarah both have to deal with their pasts before they can have a future together.

This was an entertaining book even though it was fairly predictable, the best part was Will’s crazy OTT ex wife. It was a bit frustrating trying to figure out how Sarah’s entire backstory and why she was so determined to stay away from her hometown but once you got the full story it made a lot of sense.

Will she stay? Will he find his forever home?
Can these two wounded people open their hearts to let love in or are they both doomed to be lonely forever?
When life got too tough on the island Sarah did the only thing she could.
Shielding her secrets she ran and never ever wanted to return.
Being called home to Darling, Alaska is the last thing she expected.
Will has just had the biggest shock of his life and his world as he knew it has spectacularly imploded.
Not wanting to deal with any more that life can bring his way he takes his dog and runs.
Straight to a small town in Alaska.
This is where both Sarah’s and Will’s lives collide and the attraction and chemistry is instantly apparent.
As they navigate their new life the lines get blurred and they both start seeing the possibilities of a future together until an unwelcome visitor comes to the town causing havoc.
I loved this storyline and the characters and am really looking forward to the next book in the series.
The story was well written and it kept my attention and interest until the end.
I also loved listening to this audiobook which had dual narration. Julie Cleburn and John Joseph Roger’s did a wonderful job.

This is book 1 in the Darling Men series and it got me very excited for what is to come. In this book, we meet the Carters and Will Brooks. The Carters have a family business as a resort in Alaska. It is in need of help and they send their son to pick up their daughter (from California) to help them bring it back to life. Sarah takes out an ad for a handyman for the summer season and Will Brooks answers the call as his life is upended and is ready to start fresh.

I loved getting to know Sarah and Will, and the rest of the Carter family. The love stories for Sarah were wonderful and I wish there was a little more on her reasoning why she left Alaska. It is talked about and described but I wanted a little more angst at her leaving. Will, Lord love him, was just wonderful. His heart is so large. I'm not sure my romance would work hos he did his, but man, it would be nice to jump back into the saddle as fast as he did.

I had a hard time fitting in what the prologue had to do with the rest of the book. I think I pieced most of it together, but I am still not 100% sure, even after finishing the book twice.

I will recommend this book to others and I am excited to start book 2 tomorrow!.

Lark Holiday is a talented author wo has a rare gift: she doesn’t just tell a story, she shows it in a way that makes you feel like you're watching the most heartwarming movie unfold before your eyes.

'A Darling Handyman' - the first of a series - is packed with vivid, cinematic scenes that transport you straight to a cozy Alaskan town, where every glance, every touch, and every beautifully crafted moment between Sarah and Will, the main characters, feels alive.

The emotional depth, the humor, the small-town charm...it’s all effortlessly blent together with such a natural flow that you don’t just read this book, you experience it. Without spoilering too much, Will is the perfect rugged, emotionally wounded hero, and Sarah is strong, although not really that 'strong', gorgeous, relatable, and easy to root for.

Their story is one of second chances, and the kind of romance that leaves you with a big, satisfied smile.

If this is just the beginning of the Darling Men series, I can’t wait to ready books 2 and 3! Lark Holiday is officially on my must-read list: I’ll be grabbing everything she writes from now on. Anyway, the fact that I have 'a Darling Aviator' and 'A Darling Artist' waiting on my desk put a smile on my face already :)

So very happy to have found her and her novels!

Thanks, Lark for spreading your voice through your stories: please, keep doing it.

Love from an Italian reader and now fan :)

This sweet story and the author's writing style hooked me from the very beginning. Both Sarah and Will have been through relationship nightmares and have sworn off entering another one. That is until their paths cross in the most unlikely place. They quickly realize that life is better when you have the right person by your side. I loved how Will supported Sarah at the lodge and while she learned to forgive herself. I fell in love with Sarah's grumpy old man brother, Mac. You can't predict what will come out of that man's mouth and it was hilarious.

I also listened to the audiobook and highly recommend it. I'm not a fan of audiobooks. The voices usually distract me because rarely do I think they match the characters or they read the book in a strange cadence. But A Darling Handyman's narrators fit the characters perfectly and helped me fully immerse in this beautiful story.

I highly recommend this sweet, closed door romance. You might want to scream and shake Will a couple of times, but don't worry, he'll redeem himself! ;)

Second Chance Romance

We meet Sarah who has run from her past all the way to Los Angeles from her small hometown in Alaska. Her brother has come down to get her and bring her back home. Where her family owns an Inn.

Will lives in Seattle and has been blindsided by his wife on their wedding anniversary with divorce papers. While at the lawyers office he was giving a save the date invitation for his wife and best friend's wedding date. That pushes him to answer an ad for a handyman needed in Alaska at the Inn Sarah’s family owns.

I will say it was a little slow paced, and I do wish some of Sarah's past was explained a little more. Also, I have been through a divorce and a lot of what Will’s ex wife did was way over the top for her being the one that cheated.

I did enjoy getting to know Sarah and Will's love story. To watch them heal from lost loves, and to have a second chance at love.

I received an ARC copy from Voracious Readers Only, and I’m voluntarily leaving an honest review for the author.

4 / 5 ! ⭐️

Okay, this is CUTE! This is a short and easy book to read if you don’t have the time to sit for hours reading a lengthy book, BUT if you like it and want MORE it’s part of a series!! It’s a win/win!

I’ll be honest, I’m not a particular fan of a few of these niches, BUT the author’s writing was similar to Ana Huang’s in a sense - easy but fun and still immersive to read! So it didn’t end up being much of a problem.

The main characters are quite easy to like since they’ve both been hurt, so we immediately feel and root for them, and this DOES have a HEA so it was all in good fun!

However, I can’t give it 5 stars since this book can be a bit quirky at times. A lot of the characters felt slightly a twinge of… stereotypical. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at time.

But this fit into how romance books are, so I can’t truly fault it. Overall, it’s not bad enough to not recommend! It’s tolerable.

This was such a sweet and wholesome read! I was drawn in from the prologue and read it in a few sittings. I enjoyed the character development, particularly the grumpy brother Mac, as he always surprised me and had no filter - Mac was an intriguing addition to the story and I can’t wait to read his story next. Honourable mention to Rachel as a character as she was both ridiculous and hilarious.

As an Australian I was fascinated by Alaska as the backdrop for a romance story. The author wrote about Alaska so beautifully and with attention to detail, I could picture everything. The writing style reminded me somewhat of Penny Jordan, which I absolutely adore - as in the writing and romance flowed beautifully and sweetly, however it was also respectful to the characters in the spice department, which was perfect for me as I don’t enjoy too much spice in books.

A minor disappointment was the alimony situation. It frustrated me as I did not think it was too realistic. I found the 3rd person POV interesting, as I typically prefer a first person POV to connect with the characters more, but somehow the alternating POVs from different characters worked and I enjoyed it.

Loved the small town, second chance, slow burn and forced proximity writing tropes. I’m excited to read more from Lark Holiday.

I received a copy of this book via @voraciousreadersonly however this review is 100% honest and my own!

I have no idea if this book was a freebie or gifted to me, but I finally decided to give the small town romance a listen.

Frustrated, Sara reluctantly leaves her incredible career in Los Angeles for her small hometown in Alaska when her parents call and her brother comes to make her go home. They need help running the family's lodge since her mom got hurt. Her hometown carries some hard memories with it and she's not looking forward to facing them, but handyman Will makes it a little easier. He's also running away from his past in Seattle and wants a fresh start over. How better than a handyman gig in Alaska where the only women are much older and unavailable. That is, until he sees his new boss and is enamored. Can their temporary situation lead to more?

This was ok. I would have enjoyed more Alaska setting and maybe a bit more to the plot. It was quick though and had dual narration, which is always a win.

Oh wow, this book really gave me all the feels. The MCs, Will and Sarah, were so very easy to connect with and yo like. Immediately I felt for Will and the position he was in. Unbelievable! Yet it was. I could clearly imagine Sarah's conversation with her brother, their opposing mannerisms apparent. Both Sarah and Will posess a silent strength that keeps them moving forward despite setbacks. Beyond the characters, the set development was crisp and I could almost feel the sweat trickle down my back as the heat rained relentlessly on the small island.

Ultimately, the stories of love, loss, and rebirth sent my emotions into a whirlwind, and I loved every minute. This may have been my first foray into Holiday's writings, but it definately won't be my last. I'm greatful for the opportunity to voluntarily provide this review of a gift copy of A Darling Handyman. Happy Reading Y'all 📚

I liked this book. It has very strong hallmark movie vibes although I liked that both characters are not stereotypical of a small town. It was a very short and pleasant read so if you are looking for a book to take your mind off things than this is the one for you.

Some parts of the plot felt not expanded on and a bit sudden in some places and the setting was more original it wasn’t really used much with the other characters in the settings.

The characters do have development which was great and in my opinion they felt like a good match/
The romance between them didn’t have too much buildup but was wholesome and quite cute.

In summary, I liked this book quite a bit and would be interested in the next one. Perfect for a night in or when you want to relax.

(This book was provided by voracious readers though this has no impact on my review)

Sarah left her hometown five years ago. She has avoided going home for the longest time but is finally forced to return when a family emergency occurs. Will is getting a divorce and needs a new job. He ends up being hired by Sarah to work at her family’s lodge in Alaska.

While William is going through a messy divorce and has sworn off any new relationships, he cannot help but be attracted to Sarah. As for Sarah, she has secrets which have been holding her back all this while. Can they both overcome their past hurts to give each other a chance?

I have never been to Alaska and the descriptions of this small town make me wish to visit someday! Sarah’s secret is a pretty big one and I liked the anticipation of the big reveal. To my surprise, we have to thank an unlikely character for the happy ending.

Ps. This was a great debut novel.

I haven’t had such an enjoyable evening in a long time. Listening to this audiobook transported me to Alaska.
Sarah was burdened with secrets that destroyed her heart.
Will was crushed by betrayals.
Neither of them were looking for love, but love found them.
Unfortunately, lies of omission, and miscommunication caused a lot of angst.
I must admit that I got so angry with Will a few times. He was a good guy, but could be an idiot with communication. It made for an incredibly interesting book.
I became invested in so many characters in this awesome audiobook.
I am so thankful that Will and Sarah got their well-deserved HEA. I really hope there is a story about Maverick, because I NEED to know more about these wonderful book friends.
The audio presentation was FABULOUS, and brought a wonderful story to life.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this audiobook.

A Darling Handyman was so interesting that I was thrilled that Lark Holiday sent me A Darling Aviator and A Darling Artist as well.  Each would read easily as stand alones but it was way more fun to read all three in order. Must say the name Darling doesn't make me think of Alaska!  However the setting of the wee town was very spot on - reminded me of  Tenakee Springs where my aunt used to live.
All books have tons of humour and awareness of people's feelings.
I highly recommend them and feel any age would like them and they would make a perfect gift for any book lover.
A Darling Handyman had Sarah moving to Darling to help her ill mother run a lodge. Will is in shock from being handed divorce papers from his wife. He bolts to Darling to take a job as a handyman. Will things work out for them?
