“I want to go undercover and expose this priest.”It’s one thing when Jeremiah asks Zack and Archer to take a pro bono case for a friend, it’s a whole different question when he wants to step into the confessional and bait the trap himself. Their investigation reveals more than just a philandering priest with a penchant for young men on their knees, and more than one relationship is going to change. Forever.
Zack, Archer and Jeremiah are still together, although Jeremiah is still not happy about his input into the threesome, and seems to be teetering on the edges of the relationship, although he's very useful as far as the sex is concerned of course!! 4 stars
Jeremiah is going undercover in this one, trying to expose a priest who seems to enjoy forcing gay men to have sex with him in return for his silence after they've revealed all in the confessional box...yes, one of his friends has been co-erced. He pretends that the church runs 'pray the gay away' sessions, and yes, you did read that right...what these churches will do is beyond me sometimes, although surprisingly, it's the first time his 'higher-ups' at the church have heard of it!! Jer decides that he will pretend to be a gay man who is very repentant, and find out what is happening to these guys. He also involves Marcus' Ben and of course his friend Nick, better known on the street as Gabe and the 'sting' begins....
Aaaaahhhhhh my guys! No one writes the ménage better than this author and Zack, Archer and Jeremy hold quite the spot in my heart! I've been loving watching Jeremy get more confident with himself and his place in this threesome.
I loved watching Jeremiah, Zack and Archer work to put a scuzzy priest into hot water with the Diocese and the community. Not to mention watching how the guys celebrated!
I want more of the Triple Threat, please!!
*on a little side note and people, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not for one minute think that I believe any of this is funny, but when I see the term 'pray-the-gay-away' I have to laugh......because to me it's just as ludicrous as me trying to pray-the-straight-away.....can't pray away how I was born*
This story finally cements Zack, Archer and Jeremiah's relationship. As a reader, I found it gratifying to finally reach this point. The 3 are involved in exposing a priest that is using and abusing young men. Jeremiah goes under cover to reveal the dirty deeds. There is resolution, but what is important is the revolution that Zack, Archer and Jeremiah under go in their relationship. The ending is loving and satisfying. I give it trinity full of stars.
I never really read menage until I got this story. To me those stories always seemed...I don't know, unrealistic.
Then I got this as part of the Pulp Friction universe. Let's just say after this story, my attitudes have definitely softened.
This story, as with all of the Pulp Friction stories, deal more with the interactions between the people as opposed to other things used to sell a book. The story drives each part of the world that Laura Harner, Tom Webb, Lee Brazil, and Havan Fellows have created. It made me sit up and take notes and I'm very glad I got to step into this creation of their very fertile imaginations.
I find that I'm losing interest in these guys. I didn't really care about the plot in this one. I'm not Catholic and not gay, but I find it hard to believe that Father Tim would be able to get victims who were in their early 20s so easily. I'd think a 24 or 25 year old would know that letting a priest have sex with him isn't a way to cure him of homosexuality. Now if the priest got to these boys when they were young teens, maybe the plot would be more plausible.
I don't care about the relationship between Zach, Jeremiah, and Archer. Why is Archer such a shut it? Why doesn't he ever leave the house. One more to go but here's to hoping the other authors' stories are better.
This review is for books 1-4 in this series. Very enjoyable! I had missed that this was a 4 author series but after contacting Laura Harner, got the scoop and the reading order as well. Bought more today and will continue with them as I am quite intrigued by the other characters mentioned as well as the 3 MC's these stories were based on. I liked the relationship dynamic between the MC's. Looking forward to more!
Abuse of power is addressed with this story. The case makes Zack rethink his and Archer's relationship with Jeremiah. It is more than they thought it could or would be. They are no longer two. They are three that is one forever.
I like this series. I especially like that the cases they work on are more of the low-key kind. The whole story has a relaxed feeling - and the three together are not bad either.
