(This book contains intense sexual encounters and is intended for mature readers only.)

For the women in Alana’s village, life is precarious, and starvation is only a misstep away. When she’s not scrounging up food for the women huddled under the hedgerows, Alana is busy healing the sick. She has enough problems of her own, and shouldn’t have to worry about the fierce red dragon that just appeared in her village, or the handsome dragonrider on his back.

What’s surprising to Alana is that she’s been having strange dreams about this dragonrider. What’s not surprising is that he brings troubles of his own.

Kegan is one of those brave few who wear the Dragon’s Mark on his shoulder, but if he and his fellow dragonriders can't hold their ground, Alana’s village will be the first to fall. Kegan has a plan, but he can’t pull it off without Alana’s help, and he needs more than just her skills as a healer. Will their combined efforts be enough to save both the village and the Weyr?

I was expecting an epic saga with dragons and mighty warriors in it. There are dragons, but they behave like flying puppies. The mighty warriors are paper thin one attribute characters, as is everyone else. Then again, that’s all you need for a story this naive.

On the other hand, the porn scenes (I find it hard to call it erotica when words like “f*ck” and “a***ole” get thrown around) are frequent and fairly well written, in the same naive and cliche way as the rest of the book.

Just picture this as a paperback with the main character shirtless, hugging a damsel in distress on the cover and you’ll know what you’re getting.

Very good

The story was very good, except for the sexual description. I did appreciate the warning. I look forward to continuing the story
