Celebration. Intrigue. Assassination. The hardcore, the outlaw elite -- the insurgent Decepticons go public, rebelling with a sudden and unstoppable fury. The icon behind this is celebrated as an omen for change -- Megatron's day has come! A response must be heard, seen, felt. Sentinel Prime's narrowed options make him lunge for his bluntest tactic: a thunderous head-on attack aimed at squashing resistance overnight
Tldr: art is still muddy and things are hard to keep up with. It's why I have to do these stupid recaps 🫡. (Ik that makes it seem like I don't like these comics, but I actually so like reading them. I just wish they were easier to follow).
-YIPPPIEEEEE SOUNDWAVE AGAIN!!!!! Idk if his eyes will ever change to red, but I do like the yellow in this comic. It looks very pleasing! Anyways, he meets with Swindle (good to see him) and goes to show Megatron his new allies: Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundercracker.
-When Soundwave shows Swindle that he's a Decepticon, I think that's the first time we see the Decepticon logo in the series (if you're reading this in the timeline order and not the publishing order). Love that Megatron's #1 Dick Rider is the first to show it (unless Megs wore it beforehand and I was just too stupid to notice).
-As much as I clown on the art for how annoyingly muddy it is, I do like that there's always some details hidden in the back, like recognizable characters and all that. It's fun
-First appearance (in timeline order) of the Seekers. Listen, LISTEN: I know that they are just recolors of each other because that's how they were in the show and as toys. BUT, I think it would've been more fun if they each had their own unique design instead of just by color. Would definitely make them more recognizable
-Why does Megatron sit with his valve panels spread WIDE OUT and facing Starscream? Slut/jk
-Starscream says that him and his Seekers are happy to kill for Megatron in the arena, but Megatron tells them that they won't be fighting in the Arena anymore and that he has a much more important job for them
-Autobot funeral for the two soldiers that died in the last issue. Sentinel Prime uses this as an excuse to be more aggressive
-Prowl's trauma/reasons list #2: losing 2 Autobot soldiers to the Decepticons.
-“Female Transformers don't exist” and then Elita One is right there in the background. “They did exist but they forgot.” Elita One is right there in the background and so are the characters that are alive when they say this bullshit. More proof that Arcee's comic was just misogynistic and transphobic and I'm so mad they made bullshit that later had to be retconned and explained when it really didn't have to be. JUST HAVE WOMEN???? IT'S NOT THAT HARD???
-Anyways, Hello to Orion Pax, Elita One, Bumblebee, Prowl, Alpha Trion(?), Wheeljack, and Ironhide in the Autobot funeral audience. Great to see you :)
-The Seekers attack Senator Decimus as he is unveiling a statue of himself. Do they kill him? Idk. The art is muddy and unclear. But, the Decepticons go and sabotage more and more Autobot stuff. A bot (that looks a bit like Nightbird but I don't think that it is) comments that this is getting out of hand and the way that they're drawn seems to show that they're important
-We cut back to a secret location (I think an arena turned into a meeting place/gathering???) and we see Sunstreaker and Sideswipe (!!!!!!) there as well. Sunstreaker mentions wanting to fight in the arena, but Sideswipe discourages him. Sunstreaker is being Sunstreaker and says he'll be fine because “he never loses.” Grimlock (at least I think it's him) is there! I think he plans to fight Megatron in the arena
-Soundsy's eyes are red again. Sad, but I can handle it
-After threatening a small bot that dare speak up to him, Megatron makes a speech to everyone that's gathered that boils down to: encouraging the people all across Cybertron who are lowest in rank and have to fight for scrap to stop fighting each other and to rise up against and fight their oppressors. He shows them the Decepticon logo as a sign of their cause. (He wore it as a chain necklace and it was really distracting. I felt like he was going to drop a new rap album, lol)
-His speech is interrupted when the Autobots (led by everyone's favorite husband, Prowl) come in and try to arrest them
-They release some pink gas or smoke that makes it hard for anyone to see. Megatron threatens to kill Sentinel Prime, but the Autobots capture and restrain him before he can
-After some taunting by Sentinel Prime, they take him to a prison in Kaon. Autobot corruption is shown when they're told to “get creative” when it comes to storing new prisoners, even though they've passed capacity 30 cycles ago
-The Decepticons are blaming Megatron, who stays silent. Starscream looks at him, realizes he has a plan, and then smiles (Starsy is his #1 Hater while ALSO his #2 Dickrider. A mech can be both 💪)
-Soundwave gets to walk free due to a senate directive. I'm sure that will go well and nothing bad will happen ☺️☺️☺️☺️ (omgggg he looks so short and cute next to Sentinel I love him)
-Megatron orders his Decepticons to kill Starscream for some reason. The guards step in and Starscream is able to request a meeting with the Senate. Starscream asks what Megs told them (the senate?) and Megs says “everything.” Idk what he means by that. I'll find out next issue
