4 Trick or Treat Stars! Four short stories that take place on or around Halloween!! Two delectable goodies and two mediocre snacks!

My overall rating for the anthology is 4 Stars, but I've broken it down for each individual short.

Seducing Mr. Right (A Come Undone Novella) by Katee Robert
4 Stars!

This was an enjoyable friends to lovers story that dealt with Danielle's trust issues and some preconceived notions that she had about Grayson, or rather what she thought he did for a living. Grayson was humble and sweet, and so afraid of losing Danielle, he doesn't immediately set her straight. Once Danielle realizes how ridiculous she is with her comparisons, it turned into a lovely little story!

First time I've read this author, and it won't be my last. Even though I'm unfamiliar with this series, I had no problem diving right into the story. It could easily be read as a stand-alone.

Tempted by His Best Friend by Cari Quinn
3 Stars!

A friends to lover story that didn't quite make the grade for me. I wasn't crazy about the first sexual tryst; the deception Stephanie's part, and Lan screwing the first thing that caught his attention. It put a bad taste in my mouth and it took me a while to warm up to them, but when they were together as themselves, and let their feelings be known, the story took on some new life. Not bad, but not memorable either.

I'm not sure if this is connected to a series, there was no indication that it was, but I had no problem reading this as a stand-alone.

Wicked Games ( A McCade Brothers Novella) by Samanthe Beck
5 Stars!

Loved it!! The perfect novella!

If you haven't read Lover Undercover, you might want to do that first to get a better grasp on the character relationships. I adored Ian and Stacy in that book and was hoping they would get their own story, but this short certainly had enough depth that it satisfied my need to have more of them. Kylie, Stacy's twin sister, and Trevor, her fiancée and Ian's partner, are front and center in this book and I was thrilled. It was good to have ALL of them back. There was a perfect balance of fun, suspense, and some hot Halloween lovin'!! Ian and Stacy still had that off the charts chemistry that they had in Lover Undercover. The dialogue was excellent, the story wrapped up nicely and there was even an epilogue, yes an epilogue!

Samanthe Beck knows how to make good use of words! She is an author to watch!

Protecting What's Theirs ( Line of Duty Novella) by Tessa Bailey
3 Stars!

In all fairness to the author my issue was not as much with the story, but the fact that I went into this one blind. I didn't realize that this couple was introduced in Protecting What's His, and I didn't quite feel their connection as I would have like. For those readers who read that book, this would probably appeal to them more than it did me. However, after reading this, I would like to go back and read Protecting What's His. So that's saying something.

In my opinion this can't be read as a stand-alone as the characters already have an established relationship and this reads more like an epilogue for them.

Thanks a million Tessa Bailey for the ARC – I won my first ARC on Facebook… After my shitty week she totally made my day. Xx

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS MINOR SPOILERS

4 Novellas by 4 talented authors

Seducing Mr Right –
Katee Robert (I haven’t read a book by Katee Roberts but will def give her books a try)

3.5 Stars

First book is about Grayson and Danielle.

Danielle has some “daddy” issued.
Grayson is sweet and caring but in the bedroom he is one ‘bossy’ guy good grief! I didn’t think he was going to be that bossy ☺

They have been going on a coffee date for a few weeks now but Grayson is keeping a secret from Danielle. He wants to tell her the truth but he is scared that if she finds out she is not going to forgive him.

Danielle does find out what the secret is but not the way he wanted to tell her. And now he must win her back.

I’ve thought about how many places in this goddamn building there are to have illicit sex

I should have reacted as if you were Daddy 2.0. Did I mention that I’m sorry?

Tempted by his Best Friend
Cari Quinn (also a Author I’m not familiar with)

4 STARS

Oh man I loved this book!

Steff – A kindergarden teacher
Landon aka Lan – Divorce turned Family Law laywer
Craig – Best friend to Steff and Landon

Steff, Lan and Craig have been friends since college – now 28.
For the last year Landon has been ignoring Steff because he has feelings for her. (offcourse she doesn’t know it and he doesn’t know she has feelings for him)

Steff gets invited to Holloween party at the company Landon and Craig works for. She does something that could loose her friendship with Landon and hopes he never finds out.

Landon does try to get over his feelings for Steff but he just can’t get her out of his mind. And they meet up again as friends. (Now I don’t want to spoil the story for you so you have to go read this book to see what happens)

This book was HOT ☺

What I did violated about sixty-five and another hundred tenet in the friendship book

What I want is to make love to her all night long. What I want is to wake up beside her in her bed and laugh with her. What I want is for this to turn into something real. Permanent. To know that she trusts me to become the guy she needs because she trust me, period.

WICKED GAMES
Author: Samanthe Beck (Also a new author for me)
Romantic Suspense (second chance love)

3.5 stars

Stacy – Ex stripper turned Actress
Ian – Homicide Detective
Kylie – Twin sister of Stacy
Trevor – Ian’s partner and Kylie soon to be husband.

Stacy broke up with Ian broke up 6weeks ago. Ian is giving her space and hopes she comes to her senses. Stacy has been getting threatening letters and Ian finds out. Ian wants to protect her. Stacy is stubborn and she’s sure she can handle it on her own.

Hello, he’s a cop and you’re an ex-stripper, not to mention your hometown’s poster child for author issues. Anything wrong with this picture?

Eventually she quickened the pace and reduced him to begging, which he done willingly, hell, enthusiastically, until his voice have gone hoarse, his muscles ridgid, and he’d come with the debilitating force of a fire hose at full blast.

************************************************************

The name of the book is in a spoiler – you have been warned. (Don’t look until the book is released)

Author – Tessa Bailey (OH I love this author, I’ve read all 3 books that she has published and would read anything by her)

4 STARS

I will use HE and SHE further in the review because I don’t want to give it away.

When they started going out they made promise to always be honest with each other, never to keep anything from each other.

He is keeping something from her as he didn’t want to put her in danger. She thinks he is slipping away from her. She is trying to tell him what is happening with her but he is trying to pull away so he doesn’t want to listen.

Use what you’ve got

If you ever want anything in this world, promise me right now you’ll tell me what it is.

----, happy is a pitiful, inadequate work to describe what I’m feeling right now.

3.5 Stars.

This anthology contains 4 short tales based on or around Halloween.

Seducing Mr. Right – Katee Robert

This Novella from the Come Undone Series.

Wowee this is a hot short story, the tension between Grayson and Danielle sizzles off the page from the get go. I loved that although this is a novella, the build up from them actually meeting to then getting together doesn’t feel rushed.

Things progress to the point where the flirting and innocent touching are not enough, and they both decide to take things a step further at the company Halloween party.

“I won’t do anything to you that you don’t beg me for first.”

Danielle is under the impression that Grayson is the mail room guy. How wrong can a girl be!

Grayson is worried that Danielle will run a mile when she finds out who he really is, seeing she has major daddy issues, and he actually epitomizes everything she believe she doesn’t want in a partner…… and he is pretty spot on with his assessment. However the Phantom of the Opera is an insistent fellow, and what ensues is pretty damn excellent.

The quality of Katee Robert’s writing in this novella has definitely pushed the Come Undone series to the top of my TBR list.

Tempted by His Best Friend – Cari Quinn

I love the friends to lovers genre and this book telling Stephanie and Landon’s story was no exception, it had some absolutely hilarious laugh out loud moments from the get go –

“I want your cock in my mouth.”

“Wow, really?”Steff looked up to find a grim reaper blocking her path and nearly choked in her haste to mutter an apology. “No, God, no. I’m sorry. I wasn’t— I didn’t mean—”

The reaper deflated like a pensioner when the Viagra ran out. “Figured. That never happens to me.” He shuffled off before she could apologize again.

And then there were the totally hot moments -

“I don’t know all your fantasies yet, but I will. This is one of mine.”

And Craig (best friend to both of them) is one of the funniest secondary characters I have come across in a while; I kind of hope Cari gives him his own novella at some point.

Wicked Games - Samanthe Beck

A McCade Brothers novella

There is a recurring trend occurring in this series of Novellas (apart from it being Halloween)! and that is the seriously hilarious secondary characters.

In Wicked Games we are treated to Ian’s partner Trevor and his comical one-liners. Trevor and Ian are police officers who just happen to be dating twin sisters, although Ian split up from Stacy a month ago, and is currently working on getting them back together. Unfortunately Stacy is harbouring insecurities about her past, and is also dealing with a prospective stalker. Ian’s protective instincts kick in big time at a Halloween fancy dress-party, where things all come to a head between them and then the stalker turns nasty.

I have to admit it did all get a bit predictable from here on in, but the story was well written, what with the baddie turning up and who it was etc, but I enjoyed the characters and who doesn’t want their own “Halloween Hero” like Stacy get’s in Ian. Great epilogue as well!

Protecting What’s Theirs – Tessa Bailey

A Line Of Duty novella

A sort sweet continuation of Derek and Ginger’s story from Protecting What’s His.

So all in all a great collection!

Review for McCabe Brothers #1.5

I only read the Samanthe Beck McCabe Brother's Novella, and thoroughly enjoyed this sizzling hot little novella. This is Ian & Stacy's HEA and I have to say I loved Ian...nothing sexier than a confident man except a confident sexy as all hell man!!! Stacy's insecurities threatens their relationship along with a wackjob out for Stacy.

We get to see more of Trevor & Kylie and see they're relationship blossom along with Ian fighting for a future and his own HEA with Stacy. I have to say....I'm thrilled that we get a short but great epilogue!!

This review is only for Tessa Bailey's part in this book.

LOVED! What a great follow up on the relationship between one of my two favorite couples, Derek and Ginger. I say follow up on their relationship because they really are a stay-together forever couple, no matter the misunderstandings going on in this book.

I love, loved, looooooved the inner workings of Derek's mind in this book. He loves Ginger so hard, it almost broke my heard to read about it. Not only is there a fierce passion that just pours from the pages between these two but you can just feel their dedication to each other. Despite a lack of communication here, which could happen with any couple...

In this short-ish story, Ginger can feel Derek pulling away, and at the perfectly wrong time...because she has a secret and needs him to support her. Timing is everything, and Derek has a dangerous and important case at work that he hides from Ginger in order to keep her mind at ease. But as couples do, they can feel the distance and the tension between one another and it makes that distance even further.

With a surprising amount of heat packed into this sixty-page novella, and one big life altering announcement, this was a PERFECT way to top off a sexy, beautiful love story.

Tempted by his bestfriend- Cari Quinn

What the hell is wrong with you people? Y las tonterías que hacen después? >>.<< No puedo con tanta estupidez junta.

I think this is my first time reading an anthology, but I'm no stranger to the short story/novellas. As a first-timer to them being grouped together, I have to say I really enjoyed this. Each author brought their own style to the table, all using the same theme, and it was interesting to see how each one wrote their plot and sexy times as I read one story after the other. For some of them, I really loved seeing familiar faces and catching up with a few of my favorite characters. For others, it was nice getting to know new characters and appreciating their story.

In Seducing Mr. Right, we follow a friend of Chelsea's from Two Wrongs, One Right, Danielle, who looking to slum it up with the seemingly innocent and nice "mailroom guy" from her office, Grayson. As much as I want to love Katee's books, I always find they're missing a certain spark that I feel with other Brazens. While they may be in the lower spectrum of Brazen favorites for me, I still really enjoy them and this one was no different. I liked the characters, Danielle is just trying to have some fun while Grayson really cares for her, but is harboring a secret. Things unravel fairly quickly, obviously, but not without sexy times. Going into this, you have to realize that these two have spent a considerable amount of time together as friends already. Throughout the story, you're told how these two feel about each other, the love and all, but I couldn't really feel it. Still, their relationship was interesting, if not a little typical.

In Tempted by His Best Friend, Cari tells the story of two best friends, Stephanie and Landon, who are best friends that secretly have feelings for each other. This reminded me a lot of Dirty Trick, only the girl was the one working the moves this time. Granted, I didn't like it as much, but it was still okay. I felt like this could've been a bit more developed, and I might have enjoyed it more if it was a full novel. I couldn't really work up any feelings for Landon and I didn't like the way he treated Stephanie at first. After things blow up in their faces, the pacing was a bit rushed with not as much substance as I like from stories like these. Regardless, it was a decent read and it had its good moments.

In Wicked Games, Samanthe tells the story of Ian and Stacy, the secondary characters to her another novel of hers, Lover Undercover, which I enjoyed. After what happened at the end of Lover Undercover, I was definitely curious to see what would happen with Ian and Stacy's relationship. Before, I never would've considered Ian to be so sweet and sensitive and after reading this, I can tell he is perfect for Stacy. His personality complimented hers perfectly and I liked that he got her in a way no one else could. Stacy has a lot of issues from her, and Ian is the one to help her see past all that and believe in love and HEA. I thought their story was funny, sexy, and sweet. Not to mention a bit of drama and excitement, because, let's face it, this is a novel about cops!

In Protecting What's Theirs, Tessa gives you a glimpse at what Derek and Ginger, the main characters from her first Line of Duty novel, Protecting What's His, is up to. I may be a bit biased, but I have to say, this one was my favorite. Tessa can do no wrong and I seriously missed that sexy, dirty-talker Derek and the spunky, Dolly-loving Ginger! Big things happen to this couple and I really loved where Tessa went with their story. You can definitely still see the love and care these two have for each other. You can also see the chemistry and passion they share. If you haven't read Protecting What's His, you might not get the love and tenderness of their relationship, so I advise you to read that one before reading this, but Tessa does throw little bits here and there so you can see the romance, and not just the crazy sexy times. I loved it! Tessa, you're the best!

Overall, Lovers Unmasked is a great addition to the Brazen family. If you've read any books by any of these ladies, you won't be disappointed with what you get here. I loved how the Halloween theme was incorporated into each story, the sexy times were in full force, and the characters were very entertaining. With any novella, you're always left wanting more, of course, but I think each story gave me what I needed to appreciate the plot and have fun getting to know the characters.

*I received an ARC in exchange for this honest review*

I adore anthologies. They give you a chance to meet new authors while checking in with those you already love., and this fit the bill perfectly. I also loved that it was Halloween themed. There are so many Christmas themed novels (which is great) but Halloween is a fun holiday that is neglected in romance fiction. Each of these novellas is sexy and fun and weaves the holiday into them well. Overall, this is a great treat with some sexy tricks (sorry, can't help myself :) ) and I recommend it for a fun escape, preferably with a bowl of candy miniatures!

Novella 1: Seducing Mr. Right
(a Come Undone novella) Katee Robert
– 4 stars. This one was a fun surprise for me. Danielle is brash and sexually adventurous, but emotionally closed off, particularly from successful driven men (daddy issues alert!). She has been having a romantic emotional non-physical romance with Grayson in her office building, whom she believes to work in the mailroom. Secrets abound – of the sexy and the emotional variety. The ending was a tad rushed and the secrets somewhat far fetched, but I really didn’t care because the whole things was so much fun! I had not read the other books in the series, but I certainly will now.

Novella 2: Tempted by his Best Friend, Cari Quinn – 3.5 stars. This is another one where I haven’t read the other books in the series, but I am suitably intrigued and look forward to checking them out. This is a friends to lovers ultra-dramatic story that is enjoyable and really makes the most of the Halloween theme. Stephanie and Landon are made for each other but have been screwing up their romantic chances by running scared from their feelings for over a year. Stephanie engages in a desperate plan that challenged my moral intellect but certainly pleased my sexy side! I like the way the story developed and how the characters grew, which was impressive for a novella.

Novella 3: Wicked Games (a McCade Brothers Novella), Samanthe Beck - 4.5 stars. I am a big Samathe Beck fan. Her other two Brazen novels Private Practice and Love Undercover are two of my favorites and this novella also doesn’t disappoint. This is the follow up to Lover Undercover, continuing Kylie’s twin Stacey’s story. You don’t have to read Lover Undercover to read this, but I recommend you do. Stacey’s story is started there and that really adds to the depth of this piece here. This was well thought out and smoking hot. It also made me hungry for the next full length novel in this series! P.S. the epilogue is one of the most satisfying I’ve read in a while!

Novella 4: Protecting What’s Theirs (an In the Line of Duty Novella), Tessa Bailey – 6 stars. Yeah, yeah, its a 5 star limit, I know, but Tessa Bailey writes stories that defy all star limitations. I adore everything she writes and would have bought this whole anthology just for her contribution to it. Now, on to the story. This is a sequel to her debut novel, which was the story of Derek and Ginger in Protecting What’s His. This is a tough review to write, because I don’t want to give anything away. Let’s just say that Derek and Ginger have some serious developments in their life together that require growth in their relationship and provide for some steamy, sultry scenes, as well as beautiful character development. Tessa writes some of the hottest love scenes out there, but each one is pivotal to her characters and the story. This comes through even in this short story. I needed more Derek and Ginger and Tessa delivered! By the way, if you haven’t read the rest of this series, you really should get them all. Each is fabulous.

Four devilish delicious horny men & their feisty ladies...

You won't find any Halloween horrors of being thrown to the depths of hell here, just four fabulous, very sexually charged and satisfying trips to heaven.

Four great authors have brought us four steamy gems featuring past favourites who we have loved and lusted over, as well as new ones to steal our hearts. Whilst it can be read as a standalone, I would recommend you at least read Protecting What's His and Lover Undercover as they are linked, although I have to admit, I have read every book from these four ladies and each one knows exactly how to give us a man who drips sexiness and will make your heart (amongst many other places) flutter, along with a lady to make his life that little more difficult.

With suspense, fun, mystery, romance and spice, there are moments that are touching combined with those that put you through the ringer, but Halloween has never been as hot and it deserves 20 stars; 5 stars for each author and the story they've treated us to. I am one very happy reader and would love to see more anthologies like this in the future. Needless to say, yes, I recommend.

You know, I have to say I'm really loving anthologies after reading this. It was a great way to try out a few authors I haven't had a chance to read yet. And, well, I'm sold. Just saying.

I can't really divulge more than what the blurbs already state for the short stories without giving away too much. Overall, each one of them was well written with developed, likeable characters. Each author created a hell of a lot of sexual tension in their stories and delivered some spicy "intimate" scenes. Of course, I loved it. :)

I really enjoyed all four of the stories, but I think Wicked Games and Protecting What's Theirs (Derek's my fictional boyfriend. Just so you know.) were my two favorites out of all of them. I'll definitely be bumping up the stories I've already picked up from these authors on my kindle.

If you're looking for a sexy Halloween read that will give you a great feel for each author's writing style, grab a copy. I really don't think you'll be disappointed with it.

I haven't the words to describe this book. Whats better than smoking hot?!?!?! :) As a whole this book is wonderful. I loved each story and all the characters involved. I like that theres an actual story there and not just the steamy scenes. They are each a part or conclusion to a series which I haven't had the chance to read but definitely want to now that Ive gotten to know the characters in this book. A scorching hot collection that is centered around Halloween that was a definite treat for me!

Truly. I didn't intend for this day to start out as Entangled Brazen day on Snarky Mom Reads, but it is what it is (platitude, anyone??). So check out my review of DIRTY TRICK for all the blah blah blah about Entangled Brazen (bottom line? read their stuff). LOVER'S UNMASKED is a 350-ish page anthology, containing FOUR novellas from well-known authors. The price is right and the length is great for reading while at soccer practice or waiting in the carpool lane. (Personally, I'd like to read during the soccer GAME, but even I can't be that rude.)

SEDUCING MR. RIGHT - A Come Undone novella by Katee Robert: Danielle is trying to make her own way in the world (have Daddy issues much?) and has decided she hates influential men. One day she bumps into her perfect guy... and assumes he is a company mailman since he's holding a stack of mail. Well, no, the stack of mail is HIS - and HE is the CEO of big business. Since she doesn't recognize him, Grayson is intrigued to interact simply as a man to a woman - not as a gold digger to a rich man. Danielle decides to try to jump back into the saddle by meeting up with him at a masquerade party, where they have some hot sex. Obviously the conflict is how will it resolve itself after Danielle finds out who he is & totally freaks out... but in the meantime, enjoy the BDSM "lite" and the unmasking of not only Grayson, but Danielle's views on dating & relationships!

TEMPTED BY HIS BEST FRIEND by Cari Quinn: In this novella, Landon has been trying to distance himself from his best friend, Steff, because he thinks they are firmly in the friend zone and he can't handle it anymore. However, one night at a Halloween party, he's entranced by a girl that he ends up taking to, and in the library. Raise your hands if you have a guess who the girl was.... Anyone? Bueller? Yep, it was Steff! Problem is that Landon marked up Steff with some love bites and the next day he sees them - and doesn't realize HE is the one who put them there, but then he becomes jealous... of himself. This really becomes a problem when they decide, as themselves, face-to-face, to take their relationship further, and Lan realizes... "I can't do this. You're still red from another man's mouth." Oops. Don't worry - it all works out, and the bonus is that there are some scary hot sex scenes (but really - do we expect anything less from Cari Quinn??)!!

WICKED GAMES - a McCade Brothers novella by Samanthe Beck: First of all, don't make the assumption that I did - just because it is a brothers novella, doesn't mean this is a menage story. It's about one OF the McCade brothers. Ian couldn't understand why Stacy broke off their relationship but he was giving her some "time"... and in that time, she'd been getting threatening fan mail insisting she quit her acting job. In an effort to protect her, Ian (cop) masks himself as a cat burgular at a Halloween party - where they get down & dirty in a private room at a strip club. Problem is that her stalker finds her and puts her life in danger... while her poor self-esteem/worth puts her & Ian's relationship in danger. Oral lovin', a little spankarooski, two happy folks.

PROTECTING WHAT'S THEIRS - a Line of Duty novella by Tessa Bailey: Ginger has massive trust issues but moved in with her cop boyfriend, Derek - and finds herself pregnant. Ginger, who has a direct line to Dolly Parton (figuratively LOL) does furniture refurbishing from their apartment (this ties in to the story - trust me). Derek finds out that he has the chance to take down a big drug dealer, so in order to keep his mind on his job he pulls away from Ginger - right when she's preparing to tell him about the baby. She thinks he's about to break things off, so she pulls a stunt at the cop community party to get his attention (oh, and get it she does - oh la la!). Derek is a bit dominating, does a little spanking, and subscribes to the philosophy that if he's not the last thing Ginger thinks of at night then he hasn't fcked her enough. (Wow. I could just REALLY go in so many different directions with that one... so many....)

Again - this is a solid anthology, all revolving around Halloween events with some fun, fast & furious tricks & treats. Check it out - and don't forget to then go vote for your choice of Mr. September - Derek, Landon, Ian & Grayson are all up for the honor!

Seducing Mr. Right by Katee Robert:
Synopsis:
Danielle has a plan—use the company Halloween party to seduce the sexy mail guy who works a few floors up who she’s been meeting for coffee for the past few months. The only problem? He’s not who she thinks he is, and he has seduction plans of his own.
My Review:
This is the first work I have read of Katee’s, and I happily report that I’ve added another name to my list of go-to authors. I really liked this story and the already present nerves from both Danielle and Grayson…and for very different reasons. Danielle for taking a chance on telling Grayson she wants to be more than just friends and Grayson having to reveal he isn’t exactly a mail guy. Their story was hot and intense and I really enjoyed it….oh and the CEO desk scene? DAYUM!

Tempted by His Best Friend by Cari Quinn
Synopsis:
Kindergarten teachers aren’t known for breaking the rules, but Steph is ready to go undercover—and get under the covers—to work her magic on her best friend, Landon. Sexy costume necessary, multiple orgasms crucial, real identity optional.
My Review:
This is also the first work of Cari’s that I have read and also another addition to my list of go-to authors. So, what better night to seduce the best friend you’ve been pining over? Halloween, of course! Steph pulls out all the stops and goes into disguise to a Halloween party to get Landon to realize she can be more than his BFF. Her plans totally work, sort of. Now she just has to break the news to Landon that the mystery woman from the party that rocked his world was her. I adored this story! These two characters were done so well and I had no problem feeling their emotions, and there were more than a few emotions when it involves a deep friendship and the realization that the feelings go way deeper toward one another. The sexual tension was juicy and delicious and let me tell you, there were some crazy intense smexy scenes that rank up there on the list of some of the best I’ve read. The welcome desk in the lobby of Landon’s law firm? Yep….

Wicked Games by Samanthe Beck
Synopsis:
When Stacy discovers her sex-on-a-stick ex at her Hollywood Halloween blow-out, she decides to show the cocky homicide detective exactly what he’s been missing. But she’s not the only one plotting revenge, and Ian’s the only one who can save her.
My Review:
Oh how I love Samanthe’s writing and I was so happy to get a look into what’s been going on in the lives of our favorite gal twins and their men! Stacy has had a really great go of things recently….a new career in TV and a hot sex life. Well, she HAD a hot sex life with Ian until they broke up. Now, she’s at the strip club she used to dance at for a fun, uninhibited Halloween night with her sister. Ready to let loose and have fun, she doesn’t want to think of the sexy ex she knows is at the club and the reason he is here. Stacy has been getting threatening letters and he’s here to make sure she’s ok. She knows it’s him behind the mask he’s sporting and she’s gonna show him she still knows how to push his buttons. Damn I love Stacy and her bold, take no prisoners attitude. She’s a contradiction though in that she’s got more than a few insecurities. Ian is sex on legs and I love that he knows Stacy better than she knows herself. Their heat and sexual connection burns up the pages. An above-and-beyond VIP lap dance? Someone better open up a window cause it’s getting hot in here!

Protecting What’s Theirs by Tessa Bailey
My Review:
Well, since I am anti-spoiler, I can’t give much away but I will tell you this is another example of Tessa and her hot, sexy, intense, emotional writing starring Derek and Ginger. Derek is more alpha male than ever and damn, it is beyond hot! Ginger is exactly how I remember her from Protecting What’s His and I was reminded of her loyal, strong-willed personality and how well her and Derek are together. Positively delectable! This couple has made it through some rough spots and this latest novella just proves that they can weather any storm and what they have is ironclad. Oh, some of Derek’s dirty talking and his sexual prowess up against the hallway wall? Oh. Lord. Yes PLEASE…and pass the fan!

Four tempting Halloween themed treats from four Hot Brazen authors!

There is Halloween fun, secrets, lies, and a whole lot of steam in each of these novellas. Each story takes you into a relationship that has something to hide whether it be a true identity, feelings, danger or a life event. And other things they all share are the sexy scenes and seriously hot men. From the Rich CEO, and the caring best friend, and the domineering detectives.

There's a little bit of nice and a bunch of naughty in each one. But it is a delightful Halloween themed anthology. It is unusual to see anthologies about Halloween so I found that intriguing. And these are written by some of Brazen's most popular authors and therefore include some familiar characters. I was most excited for Tessa Bailey's part, but I enjoyed these different stories.

Seducing Mr. Right (A Come Undone Novella): Katee Robert
4 stars

Danielle is wanting to advance her physical relationship with her friend Grayson to the next level, so a Halloween party is the perfect opportunity to operate out of her comfort zone. But she has issues with controlling men and trust issues. And Grayson has not been completely honest with her about one big detail in his life. When the truth comes out will it make or break them?

Tempted by His Best Friend: Cari Quinn
3.5 stars

This is another friends to lover story with three best friends and two of them having issues admitting feelings for each other. A masquerade ball gives Steff the chance to act out some of her fantasies with her best friend while in costume. There were lies, omissions, some soul searching (and some ass kicking by their other friend) for these friends to decide if they were going to try to make it work.

Wicked Games ( A McCade Brothers Novella): Samanthe Beck
4 stars

The couples in this were introduced in Lover Undercover, but even though I have not read it, I was still able to follow along well. This novella focuses on Ian and Stacy who were dating, but have now hit a rough patch. Ian is trying to wait her out and get her to commit. But she got cold feet and has issues with her past. But she is now in danger and a Halloween party makes her an easy target. Her twin sister Kylie and her fiance and Ian's detective partner Trevor are involved to help keep her safe. This had danger, steam, and romance. It kept me up a bit late finishing it up since I had to see how it all ended up.

Protecting What's Theirs ( Line of Duty Novella):Tessa Bailey
4.5 stars

Derek and Ginger were introduced in Protecting What's His, and I was so excited to get more of their story. I love this couple and Tessa Bailey's writing style. Her reads are fast paced, with likable, flawed characters, and are seriously steamy. Her alphas are such domineering dirty talkers too! We got to see Derek and Ginger struggle a bit and deal with some changes. They just have to keep trying to figure out how to work together as a couple and be honest. I enjoyed spending more time with them and I was not disappointed. And it will bridge the gap til her sister Willa's upcoming book.

Even though I had not read the other authors except Tessa Bailey, I found they were all easily read as stand alones and the authors gave enough background info on the characters that they were not confusing. I enjoyed each of these novellas and have found some authors and series to check out.

Thanks to Entangled Publishing/Brazen for providing me an arc in exchange for an honest review. Will be posted at Reviews by Tammy and Kim.

Mystery and intrigue surround Halloween night as friends surrender to long-hidden desires, lovers relinquish control, and the heat of passion threatens to consume them all…
Enjoy your tricks and treats in this sexy anthology featuring bestselling authors Katee Robert, Cari Quinn, Samanthe Beck, and Tessa Bailey.

Seducing Mr Right (a Come Undone Novella) Katee Robert

Danielle has a plan—use the company Halloween party to seduce the sexy mail guy who works a few floors up who she’s been meeting for coffee for the past few months. The only problem? He’s not who she thinks he is, and he has seduction plans of his own.

So those of you who have read the third cook in the Come Undone series you will remember the Heroine's best friend Danielle. Well in the first story in this Anthology we get to see her find her happy ever after even if it isn't going to ruffle her father's feathers quite as much as she'd hoped. I loved the chemistry between Danielle and Grayson. I also loved how much emotion and story telling was fit into such a short piece definitely a wonderful addition to the Come Undone series.

Tempted by His Best Friend by Cari Quinn
Kindergarten teachers aren’t known for breaking the rules, but Steph is ready to go undercover—and get under the covers—to work her magic on her best friend, Landon. Sexy costume necessary, multiple orgasms crucial, real identity optional.

This second story in the anthology is a friends to lovers piece. I was caught off guard a little at the beginning because it went from zero to whoa-nelly-sexy in about five seconds flat. But as i read on i understood where the author was going with the piece and i loved seeing Steph and Landon finally figure out that being friends doesn't mean they can't be lovers.

Wicked Games (a McCade Brother novella) by Samanthe Beck
When Stacy discovers her sex-on-a-stick ex at her Hollywood Halloween blow-out, she decides to show the cocky homicide detective exactly what he's been missing. But she’s not the only one plotting revenge, and Ian’s the only one who can save her.

I loved this story it follows on from not long after the epilogue of Lover Undercover and we finally get the full story on why Stacy and Ian aren't together. The things is they both desperately want to be together but both are being stubborn about it. It takes a threat to Stacy's life for both of them to realise life's too short not to be with the one you love. A long with a good dose of sexy there is plenty of drama in this one too.

Protecting What's Theirs (a Line of Duty novella) by Tessa Bailey

This last story in the anthology lets us get a glimpse into the future of Ginger and Derek from
Protecting What's His. With Halloween approaching Derek get's some bad news at work that sees him keeping stuff from Ginger in an effort to protect her. Ginger unfortunately thinks Derek has finally had enough of her and is trying to break up with her. As Danger looms Derek is at his cave man dominating best which for me i find seriously hot. The question is will they sort out there issues before someone gets hurt. This was a really enjoyable addition to the Line of Duty series.

Katee Robert's Novella - ★★★

I absolutely love Wrong Bed, Right Guy and Chasing Mrs. Right! Like LOVE, LOVE!! However, this novella didn't blow my Halloween themed socks off. I really liked the premise of the characters meeting and having coffee every Tuesday. They slowly develop a friendship and undeniable chemistry. However the longer the hero kept his secret the crazier I got. I was like come on just spit it out, we all know the longer you wait the worse it will be!

Cari Quinn's Novella - ★★★★

Who doesnt love a good friends to lovers story? I enjoyed this novella and the characters. They were well-developed and realistic to me. Stef is a kindergarten school teacher who is in love with her best friend, Landon. Landon has been pushing Stef away for the last year - he has feelings for her as well but doesn't want to acknowledge them and jeopardize his relationship. Stef decided this Halloween she is going to make him see how great they are together... The catch she is going to wear a mask so he doesn't know its her... What could go wrong, right?

Samanthe Beck's Novella - ★★★★½

I really enjoyed this story! This is the first story I have ever read by Beck. So this is a follow up to the first McCade Brothers book, Lover Undercover, which I haven't read but thankfully I was never confused due to the background information that was provided in this novella.

This story is about Ian & Stacey, a couple that is perfect together but broke up because of the Stacey's not so clean past. She is afraid it will ruin the Ian's reputation & change the way his family views him, once her past decisions are brought into the public eye.

I enjoyed both of the characters. Ian was so sweet and he handled the situation great. & even though I didn't agree with all of Stacey's choices I never found her to be annoying. I will definitely be reading other books by Samanthe Beck!!!

Tessa Bailey's Novella - ★★★★½

I have recently discovered Tessa Bailey and her Line of Duty Series! So I was tickled pink when I discovered this was Ginger & Bailey's follow-up story :) I don't want to give much away because it is such a great story about their relationship and their trust in one another. Derek is still as protective & possessive as other. If you enjoyed Protecting What's His then this follow-up novella is a must read!!!

Overall, I thought this was a really good anthology. I loved that it was Halloween themed & every story had a Halloween party (most of them were masked parties!). The stories were quick & steamy with no fluff. Best part, I never found any of the novellas to be rushed.

If you are looking for something Halloween themed that isn't scary this is the book you should pick up!!

I was happy when I read Katee Robert's "Two Wrongs, One Right" from the Come Undone Series and saw that she was going to have a novella in "Lovers Unmasked". When I received it from Entangled for an honest review I was thru the roof when I saw the other authors! I have Tessa's Line of Duty series, Cari's Love Required series, Samanthe Becks Private Practice (which is a favorite of mine), and the Lover Undercover book.

I read them out of order starting with Tessa's book. It's a continuation of Protecting whats His following Ginger and Derek a year after they met. If you're a fan of the previous book you'll love it. Ginger and Derek have such distinct personalities. There were times I laughed at the things Ginger said, but also when I had tears running down my face. This one might have been my fav just because I love follow ups.

I read Wicked Games by Samanthe Beck next. Again, another follow up that I loved. This one follows up on the characters in Lover Undercover. In Lover Undercover Stacy and Ian were side characters to Kylie and Trevor. Fans of that one will love the fact that they delve into the coupling of Ian & Stacy which we only got a glimpse of at the end. Their relationship scares Stacy and she asks him for space. At the same time she starts receiving threatening letters. Will there relationship get resolved before the stalker gets to Stacy?

Seducing Mr. Right was next on my list. We got to meet Danielle as Chelsea's BFF in "Two Wrongs, One Right". I couldn't wait to read this solely because of her character in that book where she was enjoying a "naked weekend". I knew her book would be funny. She's spent most of her life rebelling against her military father. She's never been serious about a guy. She finally wants to take that chance with Grayson, only Grayson didn't tell her the complete truth when they first began seeing each other. Katee's books are always good. She's on my fav author list!

Tempted by His Best Friend This was one of the best friends to lovers books I've probably ever read. Steph & Landon have been friends for a decade. Landon's had feelings for Steph for the past years, and his response to those feelings was to distance himself. Steph's had feelings for Landon, and has been hurt by this. She's tried to get thru to him, but it's been no use. She makes a last ditch effort to get him to see her as more than a friend. Will it work, or will it blow up in her face? I loved it. Cari puts you thru the ringer on emotions in this one. Sometimes Lan was awesome, and then sometimes I wanted to wring his neck. Such a good read!

Four of Brazen's authors team up for a quartet of scorching good reads all set around the best holiday of the year Halloween.

These stories are hot ! Have a glass of cool water nearby, you will need it for sure. Each author has bought a story that will suck you in, heat you up and leave you satisfied.

The stories are short but full of character development, heat, drama, heat, humour, hot sex, hotter men and did I mention the panty melting heat ?

If you are new to the Brazen line (what took you so long ?) this is a great introduction to these authors, but if you are like me and a devotee of Brazen, this anthology will make an excellent addition to your collection or make you go and buy the books from these authors you are missing.

Here is a favourite line from each story:

Katee Robert, Seducing Mr Right ; " They both wanted the same thing for tonight - to end up naked and sweaty and swinging from the chandelier

Cari Quinn, Tempted by his Best Friend ; "And when he grinned at her.....Lord, even Kevlar didn't make panties strong enough to douse those flames"

Samanthe Beck, Wicked Games ; "He wondered if it was possible to have a coronary if all the blood in his body surged straight between his legs"

Tessa Bailey, Protecting What's Theirs ; "Sometimes I look at you....and I can't breathe around these feelings"

I could write a little review on each story, but if those lines don't entice you enough to buy and read it, I give up. Try it yourself, you won't be sorry.

This anthology was smokin hot and had enough tricks and treats to make even the choosiest romance addict smile. All of the stories were good, but I connected with three out of the four. The first story "Seducing Mr. Right" was grab some ice cubes and crunch hot. I love stories where you have a little subterfuge going on and this one was sexy billionaire in disguise. The second story was just as awesome. Hot foxy costumes (literally) cause some trouble when a girl decides to seduce her best friend at a Halloween party. "Tempted by His Best Friend" by Cari Quinn made me want to go out a buy a fox tail and ears for this Halloween! The third story was a little distracting and I didn't finish it. The forth one, "Protecting What's Theirs" was a great cop drama with some D/s thrown in for good measure. It left me all tingly and wanting much, much more...

All and all, I enjoyed the anthology, but felt the third story was going around in circles a little too much and I stopped reading it. Brazen Halloween stories are smokin hot and I hope you do another one very, very soon.

It’s truly wonderful thing to read an anthology where you love all of the authors. I had this honor. I love every single one of these authors, I have read at least one, if not all of their other titles. But even then, I forgot how good they all are. As far as anthologies go, these 4 writers are like, a dream team or The Avengers of stupid hot writing. And I mean stupid hot in the best way possible. I’m not going to give away a whole lot in this review because it’s much better to read it not knowing too much. I will say this… there is WALL SEX people. Hot effing WALL SEX.

I won't lie and say I read all the stories in this book. I didn't. I only bought it because of Ginger and Derek. I was so sad when I found out it was less 100 pages in my iBooks. I LOVE those two, and the reason why Tessa Bailey is now in my favorite authors list. If you've read, "Protecting What's His" then you will love this short novella. It sort of give you an Epilogue of the first book.

The only thing that I wished was for a longer story.. However, it wasn't short of Derek's sexy mouth or their scorning hot encounters. My God, I was fanning myself. Bailey does certainly know how to write steamy scenes!

If you've missed Derek like I have and you'd like to read a little bit more then buy this! I'll give it a try to the other ones in this book but for now this is my review.

Lover's Unmasked is a Halloween themed anthology authored by four of Brazen's most engaging authors: Katee Robert, Cari Quinn, Tessa Bailey and Samanthe Beck. Once I discover an amazing read, I tend to devour anything the author has written and I am happy to say that each one of these authors have been on my watch list for a long time. Each novella has likeable and realistic characters, is well-written, and packs a ton of heat, sensuality and passion.

Overtime, I have become a huge novella fan and these four stories do not disappoint. I enjoyed all of them equally. The talent of these authors combined with the wickedly designed cover will undoubtedly make this anthology a success.

I was gifted an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I adored this anthology. All my favorite Brazen authors together, well that's a public holiday!

All of the stories were sexy with characters I won't soon forget. If I have to name a favorite child then Ian and Stacy's story from Lover Undercover was for this fan-girl, a hot, heated and happy sigh. I've often wondered what happened to Stacy and Ian and I'm so thrilled I got to read their sexy, sweet and raunchy story. Catching up with Kylie and the hotter than hot Trevor, also from Lover Undercover is always a good thing. I would love to read more about the Deuces girls.

All of these stories are on my keeper shelf and will be read again and again, well after Halloween has gone.

Okay, so my stars are the best average I could come up with since they're for the whole book. But here's a breakdown of my opinion on the four stories:

Seducing Mr. Right - Boring. Expected. Skimmed it. 1 star

Tempted by His Best Friend - Meh. 2 stars

Wicked Games - Completely forgettable. 2 stars

Protecting What's Theirs - YES! There's the Tessa Bailey I have recently come to know and inconsistently adore! She's back in this one and at her best. Loved it. 4 stars.

Tessa, oh Tessa, please write more like this one, pleeeeease!

OMG!! all my favorite author collabrate to make a very combustible book. Favorite character from each author made a comeback and somehow complete the entire story (or epilogue in some). Recommended to all, especially to the fans who have read the series from each author. It is a book not to be missed or be sorry.

OMG I absolutely Loved Tessa Bailey's story. Thank you for giving me more Derek and Ginger. I just wish it would have went a little bit farther. Like after the baby or wedding. It was the best book of the trio. The others were good too but didn't keep my interest as Tessa's did. Tessa, please type faster...
