People seem to be more interested in my name than where I get my ideas for my stories from. So I might as well share the story behind my name with all my readers.
My momma was born and raised in New Orleans. At the age of twenty, she met and fell in love with an Irishman named Patrick Riley Dwyer. Needless to say, the family was a bit taken aback by this as they hoped she would marry a family friend. It was a modern day arranged marriage kind of thing and my momma downright refused.
Being that my momma’s families were descendents of the original English speaking southerners, they wanted the family blood line to stay pure. They were wealthy and my father’s family was poor.
Despite attempts by my grandpapa to make Patrick leave and destroy the love between them, my parents married. They recently celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.
I am one of six children born to Patrick and Lynn Dwyer. I am a combination of both Irish and a true southern belle. With a name like Dixie Lynn Dwyer it’s no wonder why people are curious about my name.
Just as my parents had a love story of their own, I grew up intrigued by the lifestyles of others. My imagination as well as my need to stray from the straight and narrow made me into the woman I am today.
Lori Ann Shay never imagined at sixteen that she would be on the run with her sister, protecting her sister and her newborn son. Her sister's abusive ex continues to try to find them, finally causing a terrifying night and Lori doing something she never wanted to do, playing a part in killing man.
After five long years Lori, with her sister and son in tow get to see her parents once again. Lori is so used to providing and taking care of her family that now that she has time to focus on herself, she finds it is not quite as simple when she is still suffering residual affects from her part in her sisters ex death. Lori has also caught the eye of Charlie, Dante, and Trevor Henley, not once in her life had she taken time to date, let alone allow herself to be attracted to a man.
Charlie, Dante, and Trevor are haunted from their time in the war. When Charlie meets Lori the fist time, although stunning he doesn't trust her. It doesn't take long for Charlie to realize he is completely wrong about the young beauty and when he realizes his brothers are interested as well, they come up with a plan to win her heart while healing their own.
I was a bit mixed on this one, a lot of internal dialogue and the three men were a bit more dominant then her other books. Overall good story, but not quite as good as the first in series.
I liked this book but I found it really slow in parts. It felt a little dragged out at times. I liked Lori, she is selfless and a good person. I adored the way she looked after Maggie and Ben. She put her own life on hold to protect her big sister and nephew. I have to admit that I wasn’t a fan of Charlie. He was mean, judgemental, bossy and moody. Yes, I understood what he had been through but it was no excuse to label Lori. I liked Dante and Trevor but I needed more of them. This book felt more like Lori and Charlie’s story. Trevor and Dante (especially Dante) didn’t appear to be in the story as much, or mentioned as much. I wanted to see more of the four of them together. The danger in this book had me on the edge of my seat. I was eager to see what would happen. I will admit that I was slightly amused that the nightmare Lori had, became a reality. Parts of it happened. I liked that Lori saved Ben again and that he was insistent on saving Lori with help. Overall, I liked that Lori finally got the happy ending she deserved. I liked that Maggie had met someone and was happy. And I liked that everyone was happy at the end. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and an ok read.
Lori Shay, her big sister Maggie and her nephew ben have been on the run since she was sixteen. Lori, Maggie and Ben spent five years on the run from Maggie’s abusive ex. When Maggie’s ex finally catches up to them, it was down to Lori to save them. With Maggie’s ex now gone, they are free to go and live with their parents. On the first day in town, Lori has a run in with a rude man. Later on in the day she meets the rude man’s family members and sparks fly between his brother Trevor and Lori. When Lori meets Trevor and his brothers, sparks fly. Charlie isn’t interested in a relationship. He doesn’t trust Lori and soon makes assumptions on her due to her beauty. When his brothers, Trevor and Dante make it known they want a ménage relationship with her, will Charlie agree? When danger lurks, will Lori be safe?
I can't stop reading menage books. I love dthe idea of being worshiped by three or more men. I'm being honest here. Who wouldn't? Every red bloooded woman has had that fantasy. Those that say they don't, are lying. That being said, I'll start my review. Ok. Same plot line. A petite stacked beautiful girl. So she's 21. Big deal. She is a virgin of course. They're is absolutely nothing wrong with that. But does it always have to be an inexperienced girl at sex. Why not a woman who is a little more jaded. Men are not the only ones that get jaded. Back to the review. She is and has had dangerous situations. Same story. She is independent smat and faces life everyday. Ok. So does everyone else. Then we have three older ex soldiers. They are older and of course have way much more experience. Since they are old. And of course they have hot as hell sex. That's why I'm giving this book four stars. I loved their coming together. But in this one the little boy in this story is way cute.
I loved this story. I do believe it is my favorite, by Ms. Dwyer. I loved the fact that Lori was so independent, and protective of those she loved. She had to grow up quick, and assume the role of adult and provider at an early age, which shaped her character. Charlie, Dante, and Trevor are the typical Alpha males, who are scarred by their experiences in the military. The romance is awesome, and the intrigue keeps you wondering what is going to happen next. However, through it all I think my favorite character was 5 years old, Ben. He is still a child, but acts so grown up when the situation needs it.
This has been my least favorite of the series. The men were just too over the top domineering and possessive especially Charlie. Yikes, they would get mad if she even looked at another guy. That doesn't bode well for a lasting relationship. I didn't like any of the guys.
I love Lori she is such a strong young woman. At only 21 she has lived a life most people haven't even experienced. Then she meets three men who pull her out of her insecurities and help her trust again. What a great story and lovely characters
