Kloonisota

Rate this book

I was born in New Britain, Connecticut, and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. I also spent a year (5th grade) in Montgomery, Alabama, and a year in Ann Arbor, Michigan(8th grade). As a child, I always wanted to be a writer, but I had lots of other ambitions too. I wanted to be a teacher, a librarian, a movie star, the president of the United States, and a ballerina.

I didn't achieve all my goals. I never became a movie star, the president of the U.S., or a ballerina. But I've been a teacher and a librarian and most of all, a writer. I've been writing for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I always kept a diary. I wrote poems, stories, plays, songs and lots of letters. Writing wasn't easy for me, but it felt natural and right.

I've always read a lot, too. I was an English major at Emory University (I love Shakespeare), and I also received a master's degree in library science at Emory. I earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Chicago, and I taught children's and teen literature at St. John's University in New York for over 20 years. Now, I'm a full-time writer, living in Paris, France - the most beautiful city in the world.

Seems Goodreads didn't save some of my reviews, so I'll keep this here as a reminder next time I'm reading this (as I tend to re-read religiously).

This was a fun book, but it had some ups and downs.

Amy and her allies are spurred into action when several tabloids leak information indicating the organization and their island where they've been keeping the captured clones. As they gather, several Amy's and Andy's head back to the island for one final battle against their oppressors.

Much like all novels in this series where Amy's and Andy's team up, I really enjoyed that factor this time. There was non stop action, and I loved seeing all the different personalities and how they complimented and repelled each other at times. There were a lot of twists and turns here that really worked, though some of the science got a little unbelievable if you ask me.

I also like that the main plot is finally being addressed in a climactic way. In my opinion there should've been more books that fell along the main plot, but that's just my two cents. This series could have been built on a more epic scale, and I think a lot of opportunity was lost.

I also had an issue with Amy 7's character. Despite all the struggles she's gone through with her fellow Amys, she takes a juvenile attitude that detracts from her character progression throughout these novels. While I can understand that teenagers are flawed, I really would've liked to see Amy cast in a more positive light. Teens are resourceful and smarter than we give them credit for, and I think the author did her a disservice here.

Lastly, I'm under the impression that this book should have been the last one. We have a conflict, some semblance of a resolution, and I'm not sure what more can happen to conclude Amy's journey, but I guess we'll see in the final book.

Not bad, but not great either.

En tajua miten nuorempana sain näistä kirjoista selkoa.

I don't remember reading this book when I was younger, it was underwhelming. There was a lot of build up to something interesting and amazing happening... and then nothing. It just fizzles out and nothing really interesting happens. The war/fight at the end is boring and not really that good, there is some character development happening with Amy number seven but it's barely there and the book just felt disappointing. The others weren't masterpieces by any means but this one just felt underwhelming and boring compared to the others.

Well, this wasn't so much a war as a random meeting. I guess the flipside to these serial books is that they're super short and while the overarching plot line is vaguely progressing, each individual story doesn't go very far.

I did like how events and resolutions from previous books were addressed in this one. That being said, androids powered by Duracell batteries are really hilarious, especially in 2021.

I was really all psyched up for a war here- clones with lightsabers and spaceships!

Wait, wrong clones.

Anyway. Not much of a war in this one, eh?

I am so confused. I have read this series at least twice and I don't remember anything about a necklace, Lulu (who is Lulu?) or a trip back to the stone age? When did this happen? Did I miss a book? Also it didn't really make sense that such a huge organization got mostly destroyed through one small confrontation.
Otherwise I love this series, it is light, fun to read and very hard to put down.

I started this series in 6th grade and stopped reading with only two to go! It feels about time to finish it. Not bad, except for the occasional moments that are so unbelievable that I have to roll my eyes.
