Three years after nearly losing his life at the hands of vengeful psychopath Tessa Gage, Chase Harper has moved on with his life. He's traded life in the fast lane for quiet nights at home--and the occassional one-night stand. He's content, if not happy, although he can't shake the feeling that something is missing. And it takes a chance encounter with Cate Carter to make him realize what he's been longing for.
Cate is as beautiful and smart as she is funny and mysterious. Despite his suspicions that she's hiding something from him, they begin a passionate love affair that takes them both by surprise. Chase finds himself falling fast and hard for her-- and he can't even explain to himself why. He just knows that deep down, what he feels goes beyond lust and that he's never felt this way about anyone. Ever.
But what falls hard lands hard, as Chase quickly learns, when Cate makes a stunning confession that will forever alter both of their lives. Chase will face the toughest challenge of his life and he'll learn the hard way that, just like in basketball, nothing in life is certain and that sometimes you have to risk losing everything if you plan on winning the game.

Kendra Kilbourn out did herself again, this book was great, could not put it down. If you liked For Foolish pride you will love Before a fall. Chase grew up to be the man we all wanted him to be. This book has a great story line from beginning to end, being a mother of two special needs boys I could relate to this book and if I was Cate I would have done the same thing she did. Great read read it in one day :)
Loved everything about this book (yes, I'm aware I wrote it but I never feel like this about my work. However, Before A Fall still moves me. I've read it seven times and I still love everything about it.)
