Well you won't be proficient when you've finished but you should be able to determine if the program will do what you need for a specific project. As with any hands-on book it's just a taste but it hits the high points. It skips most of the options in the panels and other deeper stuff but walks you through simple projects from start to finish. What it didn't do was help me when I got lost. However I found I'd learned enough to be able to get myself out of trouble with a little help from Google.
