Suffering and loss only made her stronger...until, years later, the life she created came crashing down around her. He taught her heartbreak...and losing her almost destroyed him. Lord Trevor Hamilton discovered too late that he could not live without her. His all-engrossing passion for her doomed him to spend the remainder of his life in torment, haunted by the memory of a woman he could never have. Though he became a wealthy duke in the House of Lords -- a man of great influence and power -- tragedy made him driven and bitter. But then a voice from the past called out to him, forcing him to choose between all he possessed and a memory. Only Natasha's forgiveness and love could save him .... Only then would they have what they had too long been denied ....

The heroine is so stupid, fickle and clearly spoiled. She loves one brother, then swaps to the other, then runs away from him even though she really loves him (though I question the love since she has a really TOUGH time forgiving him). The reason for their "breakup" is really eyeball-rolling too. He reveals his Machiavellian plans to seduce and leave her but confesses that he couldn't go through with it because he fell in love with her. Alright, I'd be upset too but not THAT upset to run away from him for the rest of the book since he actually fell in love with her and feels terrible. She brought a lot of the things on herself but kept blaming him when he just wanted to make things right. Ugh! I wanted to smack her and knock some sense into the hero for chasing her.

A light historical romance. It was okay, nothing great.

I wasn't enjoying this book but thought it might get better. After reading the reviews I've decided not to finish the book. I got to page 131.
Natasha is young and fickle. Trevor is manipulative and not hero material, at least not as far as I got.
I didn't like him and I didn't like the way the story was going.

This book was long and drawn out with a lot of misunderstandings and I didn't feel like there was a satisfactory HEA. I think there were parts that were interesting but I would enjoy it more if it was edited and re-released.

Si leer es saltarse varios capítulos de vez en cuando, puedo decir que está leído. Qué aburrimiento infinito. Pena de gasto tonto.

Not as good as I thought it'd be.
I really really wish the author did more showing of HOW the H and h fell in love. So much of it was them just telling us they were in love. I was surprised to read that they were 'in love' with each other since I didn't even see them fall in love with one another!!!
It's like one day he was trying to seduce her to prove a point and the next he was madly in love with her. Like there was no transition at all. I didnt see him fall in love with her!! All I saw was him in lust with her. The love between the H and h just seemed fake and out of no where. Even the love the h had for the H seemed unbelievable (yah yah it's a romance novel ofc it's unbelievable) again i ask, when did she fall in love with him?? Bc all i saw (or more correctly, read) was just them kissing and then bam they're in love. smh. I'll stop complaining now.
The ending was way rushed. I half believed that I would have to read another book just to find out what happened bc the SPOILERS!!! rescuing of Natasha and her brothers by Trevor kept not happening when I was so close to finishing the book (aka I had less than 40 pages to go).
Most of the book is just them being sad and depressed. The h cried sooooo much. I understand that SPOILER!!!!!!!! they lost a bb but :/ why couldn't she forgive him sooner??? He told her what he had set up to do bc he loved her and didn't want to lie to her anymore. Ugh rme
Overall: Don't bother reading this book. Definitely not worth the time wasted reading it.
(sorry for longish rant)

This book isn't as good as most of Elaine Coffman's novels. Contrary to some other reviews, I did not have a problem with Natasha. At the opening of the story, she was 17 and did not have any couples to learn from or even to talk to about her situation (with Trevor and Tony).

When Trevor took Natasha away for two weeks, and it got out (in the community), he was obliged to offer marriage to Natasha (for ruining her reputation). He did not do so. Later, when he wanted to marry Natasha, he could have brought that up and forced her hand; he did not. I thought there were times, in the book, that Natasha and Trevor could have resolved their problems, but the author wanted otherwise. In the end, the resolution was finished in a very few pages, which seemed rushed.
