Great story telling about the Alaska gold rush and about the early days of salmon fisheries.

I enjoyed this memoir. Reminded me of men with strong ethics, drive and common sense. Well, maybe the common sense is not the best here, because he was brave and a trail blazer. This man had an adventurers life. Working men and women in the Pacific Northwest. From working in canneries to gold mining in the Yukon...I enjoyed it. And the style it is written in is as though he is telling me the stories.
