Ηγεσία δεν είναι απλώς να σ' ακολουθούν

Expected 1 Jan 31"Ηγέτης" είναι κάτι πολύ περισσότερο από απλώς κάποιον που κάνει κουμάντο. Πραγματικός ηγέτης είναι αυτός που αντιλαμβάνεται το πόσο σημαντικό είναι να ενδυναμώνει τους άλλους. Ένα από τα μεγαλύτερα προνόμια που μπορείτε να έχετε είναι η ευκαιρία να γίνετε ηγέτης ηγετών.
Και τι ισχύει για την επιτυχία; Ανακάλυψα τρεις αλήθειες αλήθειες σχετικά με την επιτυχία. Η πρώτη είναι όμως δεν είναι ποτέ σταθερή, η δεύτερη πως είναι σχετική και η τρίτη πως εξαρτάται από τις περιστάσεις. Όσον αφορά την έλλειψη σταθερότητας της επιτυχίας, είναι γνωστό ότι μπορεί να την έχεις τη μια στιγμή και να την χάσεις την αμέσως επόμενη. Επίσης, η επιτυχία είναι σχετική με το σε τι εστιάζεις: Μπορεί να είσαι σπουδαίος στις επιχειρήσεις αλλά να αποτυγχάνεις στον ρόλο του συζύγου, του γονιού ή του φίλου. Και τέλος, δεν έχουν όλοι τις ίδιες προδιαγραφές για την επιτυχία: Ακόμη και σε ίδιες περιστάσεις, μπορεί να θεωρείστε από κάποιους πολύ επιτυχημένος κι από άλλους καθόλου.
Στο παρόν βιβλίο θα βρείτε αλήθειες σχετικά με την ηγεσία οι οποίες θα σας δείξουν ότι είναι κάτι πολύ παραπάνω από μια βαθμίδα σε μια σκάλα και κάτι πολύ περισσότερο από μια θέση. Δεν έχουν σχεδιαστεί όλοι για να είναι ηγέτες, κι αυτό δεν είναι κάτι κακό. Αν όμως νιώθετε πως είστε πραγματικός ηγέτης τότε θα θέλετε να εξοπλιστείτε με όλα τα εργαλεία που υπάρχουν διαθέσιμα, ώστε να είστε κατάλληλα προετοιμασμένοι να βρεθείτε εκεί που πρέπει όταν σας παρουσιαστεί η ευκαιρία. Η επιλογή είναι δική σας, οπότε αναλάβετε την ηγεσία!

Not everyone is a natural leader. This book details what you need to be a successful leader, from characteristics to habits. Duggan outlines the differences between a boss and a leader as well as what can set you back.
This is a nice quick book that succinctly does the job. It is thought provoking in the way that you evaluate yourself and what it is that you do that defines whether or not you are a leader. Dave Duggan is a minister with lots of experience in the leadership role. I find it more appealing to read from personal experience than just textbook theory. He also doesn’t drown the book in Bible references unlike most ministers who write a book.
However, I didn’t understand why such a short book needed “Life Application Review” at the end of each section. I understood that it was reviewing the section but it was not like they were long sections. It felt more like fluff to make the book longer. I was also disappointed in the editing. I know some of you are all “don’t talk about the editing while reviewing” but seriously. Asses instead of assess is the one that really stands out to me. I find it extremely frustrating to constantly find grammatical errors throughout a book that is not an unproofed edition. If it was one or two, it would not have bothered me but I kept finding them. This has brought down my rating for the book.
My recommendation: go and buy the post-it flags (highlighting a book with a highlighter or pencil is a serious offence) and a notebook to take notes and evaluate your leadership skills.

One Word to describe this book, Phenomenal! From start to finish this book has more in it about developing great leaders than any book I've read on the subject. If you do not read this, you are hurting your business period. I've already handed this book out to some administrators in our school system and it would be amazing for anyone in any position of leadership. It would be a shame for this to not be a best seller!

Ιδιαίτερα ωραία δομημένο περιεχόμενο και ουσιαστικό. Καλύπτει σχεδόν ό,τι χρήσιμο θα μπορούσε να πει κανείς για την ηγεσία και μάλιστα ιδιαίτερα ευανάγνωστα. Νομίζω ότι μια δεύτερη ανάγκη θα είχε να μου προσφέρει κι άλλα, καθώς αισθάνομαι ότι θα μπορούσε να αποτελέσει πηγή έμπνευσης, απλά δεν τα κατάφερε αυτή τη φορά.

Fantastic book. Leadership is something that can be learned and taught, so learn well.

Very informal book but contains basic wisdom mixed with congruent stories. Very easy read.
