I'm continuing my journey through one of my favorite comic book titles and characters ever: the Sub-Mariner! This collection features more battles and team-ups featuring a cast of more great Marvel characters. Making appearances are the Red Raven, the Stingray, Triton of the Inhumans, the Silver Surfer, the Incredible Hulk, Captain Marvel and Rick Jones, and three members of the Avengers (Iron Man, Thor, and Goliath). This story arc introduces us to the villainous Llyra and her deception on Namor's wedding day to the Lady Dorma.

Roy Thomas's solid writing and sea-spanning imagination provided some great adventures, twists, and turns for the mighty Sub-Mariner. This volume ends with a recap of Namor's origins and what new direction his decisions take him after he suffers great loss.

Thanks for taking me back to my glory days of reading comics and devouring each action-packed panel, Mr. Thomas!

I would really give it 3 and 1/2 stars but, since that is not an option I will round up.

I'm not a big fan of Namor but these stories were pretty fun.

This edition had special guests of Hulk, Silver Surfer, Hercules, Captain Marvel and villains: Attuma, Llyra, Red Raven, Dorcas, and Byrrah.

Fun collection of stories. The Wedding of Sub-Mariner and Lady Dorma threw a wrench into everything and by the last story--Namor abdicates his throne, leaving us wondering.

Still Namor never learns about his arrogance, but at least in these pages, he ponders his faults.

These stories overflow with the flowery language and soliloquies common for the period of comics but it also features that early test-run for the Defenders with Namor teaming up with Hulk and the Silver Surfer. In fact there are quite a few guest stars in this volume.
