2.5 stars, rounded off to three. Look, I would have loved to give five stars to this because I like the lads, but overall I didn't feel like it was a genuine glimpse into their lives enough to warrant the tagline "Our Band, Our Story." I've read the first book they released and I liked it because I thought I got to know them better through their narrations, but that wasn't the case in this book. This one felt very formulaic and repetitive and "safe." Like they were given a backbone and a script to follow, and they couldn't sway from it. Like every bad thing they could say was immediately followed by a rebuttal. A little too forced. The only part that seemed natural enough was the Group Interview in the end.
And the art? The layout? The fonts? The choice of photos? I wasn't impressed at all. Could've been more sleek and polished, more mature, more masculine. The photos looked like I've seen them all before. (Fangirl problems. I know.)
Still, I appreciated that I was, at least, able to hear the individual voices of the boys peeking behind some of the fluff, and I did laugh at some of the parts. This book may not have been fantastic but it didn't make me any less of a fan.

I am slightly reluctant to admit that I, a thirty four year old woman, have developed a rather large crush on Louis Tomlinson. Yes, I am just about old enough to be his mother (if I had had him extremely young!) but those exquisite cheekbones and that chiselled jawline... I can certainly see why girls have their hearts set aflutter by One Direction.
Where We Are is an 100% official book, and is, as I expected of very high quality. Hardbacked and printed on thick, heavyweight paper, it will definitely stand up to having the pages repeatedly drooled over and stroked, not that I have tried... There are a great selection of pictures of the band, from portraits to shots of them in the recording studio, from their time in Africa with Comic Relief to pictures of their adoring and dedicated fans.
Although almost a coffee table book in style, fans will be able to get an insight into the lives of Louis, Harry, Zayn, Niall and Liam through the sections on each member and a whole band interview. I do feel it would have benefitted from a bit more of this, however, the photographs manage to capture each of the group and their individuality perfectly, which is a great testament to the bands official photographer Calvin Aurand.
This book is a must for Directioners and I am sure any fan would be delighted to find Where We Are in their Christmas stocking, although this fan is hoping to find Louis himself wrapped up under her Christmas tree (I have been a good girl this year, honest!)

Definitivamente recomiendo este libro a otros. Como fan de One Direction, me pareció muy interesante ver las propias palabras de la banda en sus vidas y cómo llegaron a ser tan exitosos. Me encanta leer sobre lo felices que son y lo que planean lograr. Especialmente los recuerdos favoritos de la banda. Si le gusta leer historias de éxito o desea aprender más sobre One Direction, debe leer Dónde estamos. Obviamente, el libro es el más adecuado para los fanáticos de la banda. Creo que el título es muy apropiado porque la tercera gira que realizó la banda se llamó "Where We Are", y el libro también describe a dónde van los chicos, cómo se sienten con respecto a la fama a tan temprana edad, y otras cosas sobre donde están como grupo. Le di 5 estrellas porque apoyo a los chicos en todo lo que hacen, y este es realmente un buen libro sobre su viaje. Estoy orgulloso de lo lejos que han llegado Harry, Louis, Liam, Niall y Zayn de sus audiciones en el X-Factor del Reino Unido a los millonarios que están agotando las giras mundiales y continúan incluso cuando Zayn se fue. Saber que he sido una parte minúscula de su gran aventura y leer sobre lo que he apoyado es genial.

Posso dizer-vos que ao ler estes livros sinto-me mais próxima dos meus ídolos, as fotos são maravilhosas, enfim, adorei, pena ser um livrinho tão pequeno :'c tenho saudades de ver o This Is Us talvez um dia destes durante uma pausa volte a recordar os bons momentos! ^^

Felt the book was kind of “safe” and a little repetitive but I honestly will still enjoy reading anything by this band.

The book was absolutely fantastic! Though I might be a bit biased what with being a directoner and all. :P But really it was wonderful to see their thoughts and to catch up a bit on what they've been doing. The photographs in the book were really quite lovely. The whole presentation of it actually was lovely. My only problem is I wish there could have been less pictures and more words. I know! GASP! The photos were gorgeous but I feel like they could have done SO MUCH more with it. It wasn't as personal as I had hoped and I wanted to hear more quirky stories. I do wonder though if it's because their movie is out and that's more intense so they figured this could be a bit watered down.
At any rate this is a must read for directioners and I have to say that I'm happy that I purchased it. :)

One Direction: Where We Are is a book written by the members of the world famous boy-band, One Direction.The book gets you closer to how they feel when on tour and away from their family. Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Harry Styles explain what its like for them to be away from home and into the crazy world that they have now.
The boys explain what its like living away from home and touring the world with their 5 best friends.The boys talk about the fans,concerts,some of their favorite sites that they have seen and even their relationships. You get to understand how much work that they have put into this band since the very start on The X-Factor UK in 2010.
One Direction is my favorite musical act, hint reason why I'm writing this, but this book is an auto-biography and its different from the usual fiction type books that you normally read. This book is defiantly in my top 5 favorite books. Even though I knew basically everything that they said in the book I still feel like I learned more about them.
This book will get you to understand more what it is like for musicians when they are working. The group explained that even though they do the craziest things, they get serious when they have to be and actually put their heart and soul into what they are doing. The boys aren't anybody but themselves no matter where they are or who they are with and you can defiantly tell when reading this book.

Basically, One Direction talked about where they are right now hence the title.
While Zayn's part was astounding, I gotta say my favorite part was Harry's.
Harry is matured for his age. He knows how things run. He has admirable perspective on things. And I like that in a person. He's very aware of his surrounding and very sensitive to it as well. Not sensitive in a negative way but in a good way.
What I really like about Zayn's part was his love for books and he still talks intelligently as always.
In general, all of them were gutted but very grateful of the things that happened to them.
I just wished that the book would be full of stories, though. Not full of pictures.

The audiobook is narrated by the members of the boy band ONE DIRECTION. I listened to it on a road trip from the US to Canada to see former 1D member HARRY STYLES in concert for the fourth of the six solo shows I saw this summer. Only God can judge me.

Following the absolutely heartbroking news of Liam Payne passing away this weekend I went through my old one direction catalogue (I have all the albums, magazine, books, annuals) to reminisce.
One direction were the soundtrack to my life since I was 12 (now 26). Through the darkest times and the happiest moments one direction were part of my story. They shaped me a s a person and I was soo fortunate to have seen the boys 3 times. Knowing now there will never be a reunion where Harry, Louis, niall, zayn and Liam will all be present has shattered my heart.
Maninging grief of a parasocial relationship is strange.
Liams death is devastating, he was kind, immensely talented and went above and beyond to make fans and his loved ined happy. Knowing that he was alone and could not seek the help for his own struggles is so so sad.
As well as liam passing it represents the death of part of my childhood and that is bloody painful.
Over the last few days I have been embracing my inner teen self and fully emursed back into the directioner bubble with alot of prides.
The directioner community is home, one direction represent s home and I will always treasure being part of this community.
Liam.... I hope your now in peace. 'it's not the end, I'll see your face again'

Was given this book by my favourite person in the world and it was pretty good. I love one direction so much and considering the recent passing of Liam Payne, it felt right to read it now. The book is split into 5 sections, one for each of the boys and they were asked the same questions about the band, the tour, their life, the documentary etc.
It was a quick and easy read but my only complaint was that pretty much all their answers were the same. They varied slightly but each boy pretty much said ‘we love our jobs! It’s hard but it’s worth it! We love our fans! We can’t believe our success! Thank you so much!’ Like ok we get it. It just felt by the third guy which was Louis I was reading the same answers over and over again. I also couldn’t really get each of their personal voices through in their sections. They all felt very similar which got confusing at times. But considered I love them so much I still finished it.
My only other wonder is if it was actually their own answers. As a self-proclaimed One Direction expert 🥸 I know they did 5 albums and 4 tours in 5 years (which isn’t normal btw, they were completely overworked). They were and let me emphasises this SO BUSY the entire 5 years I doubt they would’ve had time to sit down and write out their answers themselves. So what I’m assuming happened is that the interviewer asked them the questions and they either spoke out their answers and they got typed up or they said their short answers and the author embellished a little, making it a longer book. Either way, a quick and easy read. I didn’t learn anything new but I’m always down to consume more 1D media.

Liebe das Buch so sehr omg.
Wünschte ich hätte schon vorher davon gewusst und es schon vorher gelesen, jedoch war es auch jetzt nach fast 9 Jahren Fan-Sein immer noch toll, das Buch zu lesen und einen Einblick in die Denkensweise von den Jungs 2013/2014 zu bekommen.
Ich finde, durch das Buch, bekommt man einen besseren Einblick ins Leben der Jungs als One Direction, als wenn man die Interviews guckt, aber man muss auch hier bedenken, alles wurde vom Management genehmigt!
Wenn man ein Fan ist, empfehle ich es auf jeden fall, es ist so toll. Vor allem, weil jeder der Jungs in etwa 50 Seiten für sich hat und jeder hat die gleichen Unterteilungen und am Ende sind nochmal 30-40 Seiten Gruppeninterview.

as a long time one direction fan I still love this book for nostalgic value, and because I got to learn some new things about the band lol. loved the pictures too because they reminded me of a simpler time. unfortunately, none of the boys are very good writers (especially not in 2013). the majority of this book was each of them writing a section about their experiences with the band growing, touring, fans, writing music, etc, and it was so generic/simple that a lot of the time I felt like I was losing brain cells. definitely a coffee table book for the real ones, but would not recommend actually reading it unless you were really in the trenches of the fandom back in the day.

Ok, ok. I love One Direction.
This book is obviously geared towards the younger fans. Very formulaic and not really a genuine recount. I feel that it could have been a lot more personal that it was.
Of course I enjoyed it, but overall, a very mediocre account.

This book is literally perfection and I've read this cover to cover and all the pictures the boys look like god. I would recommend this book to any die hard directiors out there who've read their first book and I think this is a little bit better.
