দেরি হয়ে গেছে’ বলে হঠাৎ একদিন ঘর ছেড়ে চলে গেল হাসিখুশি, ঘরকুনো দেবনাথ। চলে গেল স্বার্থপরের মতো। প্রিয়তমা স্ত্রী, ভালোবাসার দুই পুত্র কন্যার কথা মনে রাখল না। সুখের সংসার ফেলে কেন চলে গেল দেবনাথ?

কোথায় চলে গেল? কখনও-কখনও কি এমন হয়? সব পাওয়ার পরও কি মনে হয় দেরি হয়ে গেছে? গোটা সংসার বিপর্যস্ত হয়ে পড়ল। চারপাশে শুধু কৌতূহল, শুধু লজ্জা। হাসপাতাল থেকে মর্গ, পাগলাগারদ থেকে বেশ্যালয় ছুটে বেড়ায় স্ত্রী-পুত্র।

তুমি কোথায়? কোথায় তুমি?... বিপর্যস্ত, বিপন্ন, অসহায় পরিবারের কাছে কি ফিরে আসবে দেবনাথ? নাকি তাও দেরি হয়ে গেছে?

Prachet Gupta(alternative spelling Procheto Gupta or Prachet Gupta or Procheta Gupta; Bengali: প্রচেত গুপ্ত, porocheto gupto) born 14 October 1962) is a Bengali writer and journalist. In 2007, his work Chander Bari has been adapted into a Bengali film by director Tarun Majumdar. In 2011, director Sekhar Das made film on Gupta's story Chor-er bou ("Wife of a thief"), the film was named Necklace. One of the front runners in contemporary Begali literature, few of his stories have been translated into Hindi, Oriya and Marathi language. He is a key writer of the magazine Unish-Kuri, Sananda, Desh.

Early Life:
Gupta spent his childhood in Bangur Avenue and studied in Bangur Boys school. He started writing from his childhood. His first story was published in Anandamela when he was only 12 years old. Later his literary works were published in many more magazines. He completed his graduation from Scottish Church College, Kolkata.

If incomplete & unsolved story is regarded as good literature then this novel might be average. Devnath's return irritated me. If he doesn't return then I can think of his disappearance for a trivial or broad reason. But when he fled and come back and reiterate the line which he previously said on the day before of his disappearance. Is author indicating time travel? Or anything else. Can you explain... put the blurb

এরকম একটা গল্প এত তাড়াতাড়ি না লিখলেও পারতেন প্রচেত গুপ্ত, এরকম গল্পের আদেও কোনো দরকার ছিল কি না আমার বোধগম্য হয়নি, গল্পের উদ্দেশ্য কি,কেন দেবনাথ চলে গেল,কেন আবার ফিরলো তার মাথামুণ্ডু কিছুই বুঝতে পারিনি

অনেক তাড়াতাড়িই একটা অখাদ্য পড়লাম😑

প্রচেত গুপ্তর লেখার খুব বড় ভক্ত নই, তবে এই বইটা খুবই ভালো লেগেছে৷ একজন আগাপাশতলা সাংসারিক মানুষ বউ ছেলে মেয়েকে ফেলে একদিন হঠাৎ করে নিখোঁজ হয়ে যায়। তারপর তার অবর্তমানে পরিবারের বাকি মানুষেরা দিনের পর দিন কিভাবে ভুগে চলে সেটা নিয়েই উপন্যাস। শেষটা চমৎকার।
