Addie has been promised to Brendan since her birth. She no choice but to follow through and become the mate to a shape-shifting wolf she doesn't love. But when Shaun, a childhood friend and the male she has always wanted, refuses to let her mate with another, she is afraid her love for Shaun will cause destruction between their packs.
The future alpha in love with a woman he can't have...
Shaun has loved Addie since they were children, but she is promised to another male. Claiming her can start a war between their packs, but Shaun can't stand back and let another male have her. When the heat between Addie and Shaun ignites, they know their attraction can't be denied. But Brendan isn't about to let Addie go, and when she is taken, Shaun will stop at nothing to get her back.
Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound. She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.
OK so I'll have to review this one later. I couldn't confirm if he was celibate or not. it either wasn't mentioned or I missed it. I'm going to have to reread it again. .lol besides that it was safe but not the best. there is an evil alpha man who herione has been promised to since birth. he is an ass and is mean to get her. he trys to assault her.
Shaun and Addie have always been close. From different packs, they had to duty. Being from two different packs made things difficult for Addie. She loved Shaun but knew she was to be mated to Brendan since she was born. Brendan was nothing but cruel to her. He seemed to change. She would do what was right for the pack. Shaun always knew Addie was his but becoming pack Alpha meant he had to stay away from her. She was to be with Brendan. Neither wanted to start a war with the packs. Fast forward.
Addie is eighteen and to be mated Brendan. Brendan has only gotten worse. And her seeing him be with other women just makes it worse. She will do her duty to the pack. But Shaun was not about to let her be taken from him. Yes, he didn’t want a war but he was not going to let Brendan treat her like that. She was his and he would make her see that. I have to say in the beginning I thought Addie would have more fight. She just kept saying it was for the good of the pack. She drove me nuts. Shaun was right. What about happiness and love? I am glad that Shaun shock things up and woke her up. She needed to fight for them. The pack will find a way to find peace.
It could have been a great book and series. It’s quite small and for the price it’s expensive. So far I haven’t found any more books to the series. It’s more of a pre series book in my opinion. It seems rushed. Was short on details and in some parts of the book bits are missing.

As a reviewer for this blog and as an avid reader, I love shape shifter stories. I love the fact that they have superior strength, their senses are more acute, they heal almost instantaneously, and I really love the alpha males and the fact that they have one mate for the rest of their lives.
This was book one in the Northern Silver Pack. I really hope there are more books coming out because I really liked this book. There were secondary characters that were introduced in this book and I would love to know how they achieved their happily ever afters. I’m a reader that gets heavily invested in the characters I read about.
This book was an entertaining read and I rooted for Addie and Shaun throughout the book till the end. This story was written by two different authors, and I couldn’t tell the difference between their writing styles. I was worried when I requested this book that the writing would be choppy and uneven due to two different writing styles, but this wasn’t the case. I was so relieved.
I liked Addie, she was a gentle wolf with a kind compassionate air about her. She was not the independent, state her ideas to make women more equal kind of female. She was described as a wolf who was groomed to have a husband eventually who would take care of her and I can’t dislike her because of that. Addie was no wimp, and she knew what she wanted, she just didn’t want to cause waves and make her parents angry with her. A lot of women feel this way toward her parents.
I also liked Shawn. He understood the risks he would take if he decided to go after Addie to make her his mate. He wasn’t afraid of the consequences his actions might bring him. I have to respect that about him. He pined over Addie for a lot of years and decided what was the best course of actions he needed to take to ensure Addie became his mate.
Brendan, I didn’t like him at all. I’m sure this is a big surprise. There wasn’t anything likable about this guy. He was mean and abusive towards women. He had no respect for anyone, not even himself.
I was very surprised how little sympathy the parents had toward the female wolves concerning whom their daughters were going to marry as well as the fears and concerns the daughters had toward their future mates.
I hope that if you give this book a chance that you enjoy it as much as I did, and that you cheer Shaun and Addie on as they struggle to their happily ever after.
aken by Her Mate is the first book in the Northern Silver Pack by Sam Crescent. Addie is a virgin promised to Brendan since her birth. She has no choice in the matter and once she turns 21 she will be given to Brendan. Addie has loved Shaun since they were children and she fears Brendan since he hurts her every time they are alone. Shaun is a future alpha of his pack and in love with Addie since he was a child. Over the years it has only gotten stronger. Now Shaun will do whatever is necessary to protect the women he loves.
Shaun knows what he wants but he is not sure how to get it. He wants Addie safe from Brendan. Brendan is the one man who lives to hurt her and get away with it since he is the alpha’s son in Northern Mountains Pack. However, Shaun is also the alpha’s son of the Silver Cross Pack. Shaun remembers what he was taught and a way to save Addie. Shaun is a strong man who loves deep and wants to do the right thing regardless of what others think.
Addie is frightened of Brendan who says cruel things to her just to scare her. He also likes to hurt her but no one listen’s to her. Everyone says she should feel honored but she doesn’t. Addie has not been taught to fight back. In fact, no females in either pack have been taught to fight. She is very innocent and willing to do her job of mating Brendan no matter how much she does not want to because that is what she has been told to do.
The chemistry between Shaun and Addie is blistering hot. Shaun has done almost everything he can do to get Addie’s pack to allow them to mate regardless of being promised to Brendan. The sex scenes between Shaun and Addie are sizzling hot. Overall, this is a great book that kept me on my toes right up to the end. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Shaun has always known Abbie was his, but archaic laws dictate she will go to another. Those same laws also mean there may be another way.
Abbie feels she is destined for hell because life with the mate chosen for her could be nothing else. When a man from her past suddenly appears, he offers her a different choice.
The archaic laws need to be changed, but he will use those very laws to fight for the woman he loves. Unfortunately, there are times when victory may not lead to happiness. Will Shaun and Abbie find their happily ever after?
I was on the edge of my seat for every page. The struggle for love was suspenseful and emotional. The battle both mental and physical made the romance over the top exciting. Taken by Her Mate is a superb shifter story with action and a panty wetting hot hero.
I received this a copy of this book from an blog contest.
Shifter Story What did you like: I love shifter books and this was a good one. A change of guard, going back to the true heart of what it means to be a shifter: mates, worthy alphas and magic.
What did you not like: I didn't like it that he left his opponent alive. I know that it was useful to make the story longer and get in more plot twists but it just wasn't realistic. I mean this guy abused his mate for years and he shows mercy, knowing what kind of worthless carcass he is.
Would you recommend to a friend: Yes, if you are a fan of shifter stories. I would definitely recommend this one.
This promises to be a really good series! Shaun is in love with Addie he just needs to keep her from mating with Brendan the womanizer. Shaun gets Addie's brother, Jackson, to help him. Addie doesn't want to mate with Brendan, but she has no one that will listen in her pack except for her brother, Jackson. Brendan is very dark and dangerous and no one wants to believe that there is anything wrong with him. This was really interesting with the laws of the packs. Addie and Shaun what strong people/wolves they are through everything they have to endure.
There were events in the story that are told from two different points of view, but it would take me a little bit of effort to figure out what was going on. Other than that, it's a pretty good story. I just haven't decided to pick up the sequel if there is one.
This book was ok for me. I was really excited after reading the blurb, but it started so slow that I put it down for a couple of months and then pushed my way through. It gets better after the middle of the story, but it's slow going.
To be honest, a slow start wasn't something I would expect from this type of a book, so I was really bored. But as the story picked up the pace, I found it quite enjoyable and unique (I'm talking about a slightly different take on werewolves' mythology).
