The Romance Review
Ms. Dalton does it again. Her BDSM-themed books are emotionally wrenching and move me to tears.

In PINCH ME, Laura is attacked and nearly beaten to death. When she comes to in the hospital, she is scared and is suffering from amnesia. This is something which must be completely frightening. To not know who you are and what is going on is beyond difficult. What is also hard are the people who are not recognized, specifically loved ones. Rob is Laura's fiancé and he struggles throughout the book as the one she can't remember. This is utterly heartbreaking.

Ms. Dalton does an excellent job of infusing this story with emotions filled by being lost, frustration, longing, heartbreak and sorrow. The turmoil Laura experiences as she regains some of her memory back while others remain stubbornly elusive is very well describe. Incorporating the senses of smell and sound to aid Laura in her quest to find herself again is also well done.

Laura is an admirable character both before and after her terrifying experience. She's spunky and determined. However, Rob is the one who really won me over. His devotion and love for Laura leaves him with a much battered heart. While she starts to remember others, he is depressingly left behind. This begs questions of how important was Rob to Laura. Rob starts to wonder if maybe their relationship wasn't as wonderful as he believed. Maybe she didn't really love him as much. All of these doubts make for an engaging and complex storyline.

The BDSM in this story is light. This is because her kinky friends are trying not to overwhelm her. What I find interesting is if certain items are "touchstones" to help jog her memory, wouldn't her collar be such an item? While I understand the reasons to keep her in the dark, I can't help but wonder what would have happened if she was given her collar right at the beginning. Still, it's interesting to watch how an entire group of friends dance around a taboo topic which is so integral to their life. Discretion is not easy.

What brought this story down for me a bit is the suspense part. To figure out the attacker was relatively easy. It was predictable once a piece of information was presented. When it comes to suspense, Ms. Dalton's writing style is a bit weak. Her conflicts are best when they are relationship or situational based. When it comes from needing to solve a "mystery", it just doesn't work for me. Still, this is an element of the story which made Laura's recovery interesting. This kinky story is recommended to those who enjoy angst and love conquers all themes.

Suspense romance about h losing her memory after a vicious stalker attack and feeling her way back into her old life which included a BDSM lifestyle, kinky friends with hearts of gold and a loving and loyal fiancé. All this time the stalker is still on the loose but in the end he is brought to justice.

This was a second attempt at finishing the book, I had DNFed after trying the book last year. The book could really have stood to have 100-150 pages cut out; a lot of stuff was repetetive and it killed the pace. The main povs were the H and h and it was not fun being in the h's head, she was all woe-is-me and mouthy and alternatively took her frustration on everyone around including the poor H. Everyone was so patient with her and understanding- except her brother Bill who called her on her BS! - not sure if that was realistic.

The poor H, he was a saint! While being a beta guy who put up with a lot from the headstrong h in daily life, it was nice to see H's (mildly) sadistic Dom side in play, it brought some balance to the relationship since the h was a masochistic sub. The flashbacks of their past sex scenes were hot and fun and it was nice to revisit Leah and Seth and Tony and other members of the Suncoast society!!

A 4 star instalment of the series!

Rob Carlton & Laura Spaulding are engaged and about to be married when Laura is attacked and left for dead. Luckily a neighbor steps in to save her but when she wakes up in the hospital it's found that she has total amnesia. She doesn't remember who she is, who Rob is, or anything about her past. Her memory is basically a blank slate. That also means she doesn't remember that she is a sub and Rob her Master. The experts tell Rob Laura needs to remember things on her own without being influenced yet with BDSM so much a part of their lives it's hard not to treat her as his 'baby girl' or have her submit to him. And what happens if she never regains her memory?

If that isn't enough her attacker is still loose and makes it known that they have unfinished business to take care of.

First off. L-O-V-E this book cover. Totally in lust with the simplicity yet awesome impact it has. I don't normally get so emotional about covers so you KNOW this one really got to me.

OK. Now on to the book itself. Started out with a bang and ended on a high. I loved that I could 'feel' the characters pain over the attack and their ongoing struggle to redefine their relationship and future. Yet the question as to whether they WOULD have any future did distract me as I tried to figure out who the mysterious attacker could be. Friend? Relative? Peer? Co-worker? Who?????? As this was a 566 page book that did affect my opinion about the long drawn out first half. It did feature the core relationship between the two and allowed depth in their rediscovery of each other but I just couldn't appreciate that as much as I should have as I'm an action/erotica kind of girl and so wanted to know how things would play out.

The slant that I did enjoy and savor is the fact that a Dom, who is in control and controls, had the rug pulled out from under him. By that I mean Rob couldn't be Laura's Master as she had amnesia and so had to be a vanilla fiance. This had a fascination for me that I really can't describe. Of course as this author does live and write BDSM you KNOW there has to be D/s play somewhere along the way so that really isn't spoiler information but how this plays out (get the pun :D) you'll have to read to find out.

Overall this is a book that any fan of BDSM erotica will enjoy. The added action/suspense plot was well done with the exception that I wasn't a fan of the evil bad guy element origin. This is a lengthy read so do make sure you factor in the purchase price with what you'll get (133,959 word count).

This was a great fun read. It moved a little slow at the beginning but it didn't bother me. It was emotional when it needed to be, both for Laura, who has lost her memory and for Rob, her fiancee and her Dom. Before the attack they were in D/s relationship. Now, well he's just hoping she'll consider any kind of relationship. As time moves on she slowly gets some memories back... never knowing who is stalking her and wants her dead. He's still a threat and she has no clue.
I firmly like how all the beginning scenes were done and I didn't feel like anything was forced. I like how the stalker took his time and there was a slow build to the climactic end of the story.
Most of the secondary characters (from previous books in the series) were not as prevalent in this one as they were in some of the other books while other characters were introduced (love Doogy).
All in all a really great read.

What a story. I read this in bits and bobs over the course of a busy week, and then I reached a point where I just couldn't put the book down. As a result I stayed up until 3.00 am, and it's a minor miracle my Kindle didn't catch fire the speed I was clicking the pages.

Jeez, Tymber almost gave me a heart attack towards the end of this book! No spoilers from me, but trust me you will not be able to stop reading!

I always half jokingly say that Tymber's book in this series should come with a pack of tissues, and this one is no exception. Witnessing their journey back to each other was heart breaking at times. I cried for both of them really, and every time Laura reached for her non existent collar, I welled up.
Anyhow, don't take my word for it. Read it for yourself.

Intensely emotional, with scorching hot sex scenes, this will have you on the edge of your seat.

I love all of Tymber Dalton 's books but this one was more than a romance. It was also a thriller! Don't let the title or cover fool you, this one will keep you on the edge of your seat and cheering for the protagonists the whole time.

Get your tissues ready, Tymber Dalton does it again in PINCH ME!

I just finished the book this morning and OMG, I loved it! This book kept me on the edge of my seat 90% of the time and it kept me connected to the characters a connections I felt right away.

I felt Rob's pain over what happened to Laura, but when she woke up and didn't know him, his emotions came through in the written word like I was actually sitting there with him. And the way Laura kept reaching to her neck (for her day collar), and not understanding why she was doing so, that just broke my heart. Her turmoil at needing to remember, not just the attack, but her life (with Rob) also made me feel so much for this character.

I loved Rob and Laura, his commitment to her, to staying with her, no matter what, because he loved her with his whole heart. The way she felt "that connection" with him from the start, it didn't matter that she couldn't explain it, she *felt* it.

This was done in typical Tymber Dalton style, by grabbing me by the heart and squeezing every bit of emotion out of me. Just when I think I have no more left, she tightens the screws just a little bit more. I love that about this author!

Figuring out the "who" in this story, was easy, too easy maybe. But, it was interesting to see how it all pulled together and played out. (Very well actually!)

I would classify this as a "BDSM Light" story, and surely light compared to the 2 previous books (that I've read in this series), but there is a real reason for that, and it works. I loved seeing past characters from The Reluctant Dom and The Denim Dom, and that Shay was her best friend. Even with all the interaction from previous (book) characters, they didn't overwhelm the story line to this book, they genuinely enhanced it.

I do hope there will be future books in this series and that we'll see more of Rob and Laura and some of the other past characters as we meet new ones!

Solid 5 star read!

The premise was interesting and while I found it really slow moving, the sex scenes were fairly good. There were two things that drove me nuts, however and they really ruined the story for me: 1) I disliked Laura. A lot. Half the time she was crying, the other time she was screaming in anger and acting irrational. I get that this is hard, I myself have never lived through an experience like she did, but I hope that I handle it a little more gracefully should something horrible like that ever happen--god forbid. She just seemed to fly off the handle a lot. Sure I can understand pressure and stress, but I'd hope that if I knew I was being stalked by a guy who nearly killed me, I'd be a little more cautious and rational. 2) I figured out who it was the moment the guy arrived on scene. It was so bloody obvious. I mean, besides the fact that he was the only outside male character we were introduced to more than once (with the exception of previous characters from other books and the detective on the case), the clues were a little too obvious. And

The reasoning behind his attack is ridiculous, the lead up to her being attacked is insanely stupid on her part given hat just before this she was highly paranoid. And suddenly she's left on her own? After everyone spent so much time making sure she was always with someone? It just reads to me as the author stretching to make things work.

I did, however, enjoy seeing the other characters. It helped me get through this book and not feel super sorry for Rob because at least he has friends.

First let me just say that I love reading Tymber Dalton's books and especially this series. This book was filled with a lot of emotions like the others. Laura was attacked in her home and left with amnesia. She had no memory of being in a BDSM relationship with her Dom and husband to be. If that isn't enough her attacker is still loose and makes it known that they have unfinished business to take care of. All Laura wants is her memory and her live back.Tymber has taken great pains to make the recovery of Laura and her memory realistic. The story flows easily and draws you into the emotions and frustrations as Laura tries hard to rebuild her relationship with Rob and help capture her attacker, and because of that it took me 7 days to complete. And of course all the others Tony, Shayla, Leah and Seth and the others were there to help Rob and Laura get through this together. I did think that some of the story was a little drawn out but overall good read.

Another great read from Tymber Dalton one of my must-read authors.

Laura has been attacked and suffering amnesia and other injuries, she can't remember her fiancee, Rob, or their D/s relationship. The would-be killer is also still on the loose and wanting to tie up loose ends.

Tymber has taken great pains to make the recovery of Laura and her memory realistic. The story flows easily and one is drawn into the emotion and frustration as Laura tries hard to rebuild her relationship with Rob and help capture her attacker.

Enjoyed how the secondary characters were written in but didn't take over and loved Doogie, a typical lovable lab.

I don't get the reviews on this book. Did we read the same book? I loved The Reluctant Dom, that was a five star book. This one I could barely finish. It was so slow. I got so tired of reading about walking the dog, whiny Laura,.... The mystery was NO mystery. This story could have been told in half the pages and not wasted so much of my time. I'm done with this author.

Laurie has survived a brutal attack at her home. It left her badly injured and in a coma. When she wakes up, she discovers that she also lost her memory. Rob and Laurie were planning their wedding but now she doesn't even know him anymore, he is a total stranger and while she has to learn everything again, he also has to get to know this new Laurie. As her memory comes back piece by piece Laurie has to live with the constant threat of her attacker coming back to finish the job. Her only chance is to recover her memory and remember his face.

I enjoyed this book a lot. I felt for Laurie, the struggles she has, the conflicts inside her, I could feel her pain and frustration. I wanted her to recover her memory. But more than that, I liked Rob. I think the guy deserves a medal for staying strong and supportive during Laurie's recovery. Both of them were such a cute couple and I loved watching them fall in love all over again. They really were meant for each other.
As always with this author the story is really emotional and the sex not so present. I love this series and it was a pleasure to see the characters from the previous books.

I really enjoyed this story! The only (semi-)complaint is that the story seemed to take longer than necessary to reach the conclusion. There seemed to be some meandering in the middle which—delightful though it was—seemed ever so slightly extra...if that makes any sense.

But if that’s the only “complaint”, it’s hardly a complaint at all!
Love Tymber Dalton!!

At first it was promising, the amnesia, the mystery, that dillemma if they could work through this together... but at some point, it felt a bit dragging and it was really obvious who the killer was. I understand that it was a stressful situation but Laura just irritated me. Meanwhile, Rob has been an absolute angel with his patience and fortitude in this crisis. 3 stars for Rob!

Great sensual read, doesn't involve a lot of the club, however, it doesn't really involve the rest of the crew that much. Glad that the drama is all figured out for this one, must be time to move to the next.

Thanks again Tymber.

Cocktails and Books Review

Original Review Published here: http://www.cocktailsandbooks.com/revi...

Laura Spaulding’s life turned upside down after a vicious attack that had her literally fighting for her life. As she awakens in a hospital, she has no memory of who hurt her or anyone else. Laura tries to find herself and her memories again, all wondering about the man who attacked her. I found Laura to be a strong and resilient woman who lets her feeling and her heart guide her and not head.

Rob Carlton is Laura’s Dom and fiancé. In the space of a few hours, his life is turned upside down. As Laura awakens with no memory of him or their life together, he copes with trying to protect her from a stalker, and from how much to share with her at what pace. Rob is such a strong man and its was great to see things from his side. It’s easy to forget how hard these situations are on the family of the patient because everyone is forcing on the patient.

The chemistry between Laura and Rob is blistering. I loved how patient Rob was as Laura coped with her memory loss. The relationship issues and problems that came with the memory loss was very realistic and understandable. I liked how this book showed both sides of the issues. Rob’s frustration at not being remembered and not knowing how he stand with Laura and Laura complete confusion and helpless at not knowing whom anyone was.

Pinch Me is the sixth book in the Suncoast Society by Tymber Dalton. While this book is part of a series it can be read and enjoyed as a standalone novel. I found this book well written, even if parts of the story were unrealistic (the speed at which she regained all her memories). The main characters and the secondary characters were engaging and appealing. Overall, I enjoyed this story a lot. I will be picking up more book by Ms. Dalton in the near future.

I always enjoy anything written by Tymber Dalton, and this one did not disappoint me. Her Suncoast series is my favorite and it was a treat to revisit the characters from the previous books. The story begins with Laura in a coma after surviving a brutal attack in her home, where she certainly would have been killed had her neighbor not interrupted the attack. She wakes up to discover her memory is gone and she doesn't know who she is. She doesn't recognize Rob, her fiancé, or any of their friends. There aren't any big surprises in the book and it's not a stretch to figure out who the bad guy is. What makes this book outstanding is the author's ability to draw you in to the lives and feelings of the characters. I literally shed tears for Rob's pain for Laura's injuries and his loss of the Laura who used to be. I felt the frustrations Laura lived with in trying to remember who she was and who she had been. The best of it all was that in spite of the amnesia, Laura still felt the connection and love between her and Rob and struggles with the "something no one is talking about" missing piece of their lives. Which, of course, is the BDSM lifestyle. I happen to love the erotica genre, and the lifestyle was an integral part of the story. That said, this book would have been a 5 star story for me, had it been plain vanilla. THAT is what I love about TD books. Also, I rarely give a five star rating. To me, that means a book will stay with me and be put in that exclusive category of "I'm saving this one to read over and over when I retire" category. Well done, Tymber. Again, so glad you are much younger than I! I look forward to reading your books well into the future! BUY

I like the Suncoast Society series because each story is different and doesn't follow a "formula" like so many other long running series. In this book, Laura Spaulding has been attacked and now suffers from amnesia. She doesn't remember her fiancé/lover/Dom/master Rob Carlton, any of their friends, her family or who attacked her. The story follows Laura's recovery and, since she doesn't really know Rob, he and their friends keep the kink side of themselves hidden for most of the book. The sex scenes for a large part of the book are memories from Rob. It was great getting to "see" favorite characters from past stories as well as experience Laura and Rob (hey, wasn't there another famous couple with those names?) getting to know each other. Because, even though Rob still has all their memories, Laura is different. And, she, her attacker is still out there and lets her know he's going to finish what he started, so there is also suspense.

I rate this story 3.5 stars, as the recovery of Laura's memory her frustration with it not coming back quickly enough became somewhat repetitious. And we have the woman is danger who refuses to hide/give up her life/stay with friends/etc until the bad guy is found, so we've got a small amount of the TSTL phenomenon going on. But otherwise I did like Laura and Rob and enjoyed the unique story and most of their journey. Probably the toughest thing this series has going for it in my eyes is that The Reluctant Dom is one of my all time favorite books and it's hard for anything to live up to it, although I hope each new story Tymber writes might do so. And I do really enjoy the other stories in the series so I'll keep reading them!

I always love books from this series. The little glimpses into the characters we've followed in previous books weaving into the new stories and characters are my favorite things. I thought that Laura and Rob are a great addition to this tight knit little group. The fact that Shay is her best friend and Tony seems to be her mentor just makes things even better because I've adored his character since I first read about him in The Reluctant Dom. This story grabbed me from the beginning and I ended up reading it in one night. Something I haven't done in ages with any genre. I felt so badly for everyone in here who was affected by the actions of a madman who caused them to lose so much. Even though Laura was alive, without her memory, she was a completely different person. Those that knew and loved her still loved her but had to learn about this new person wearing the face of their friend. Rob was wonderfully supportive and stayed strong even when he was about to fall apart because he knew how much Laura needed him. Seeing the relationship build was beautiful and the glimpses she saw of her "former life" made her understand how important this man was to her. I had a feeling I knew who the killer was and I was right, but still enjoyed seeing everything play out. Great ending and now I'm looking forward to seeing more of Bill in the next book that I'll be starting later tonight!

If you're already a fan of Tymber Dalton's Suncoast Society series, you will enjoy this one as well, although Pinch Me was not as gripping as previous entrants. However, if you're new to her books or this series, don't start with this one. It will be a never-ending parade of characters you've never heard of with names impossible to keep straight. Even I had to go back to her other books and remind myself who she was talking about sometimes. I know that a lot of Tymber Dalton's fans will appreciate the shout-outs to old characters, but I think it was a bit unwieldy. A lot of romance authors seem to have this problem later in their series, once the number of happy couples becomes too large to fully update in every book (I'm looking at you, Nalini Singh!). If you're not completely comfortable with BDSM themes, you'll also be totally creeped out by the main character's seemingly inappropriate sexual daydreams. Readers new to BDSM and/or sensitive to themes of violence against women will definitely have trouble sympathizing with poor Rob in this book. Although personally, I thought Rob was amazing. Probably a little too amazing and verging into impossibly perfect book boyfriend land.

Pinch Me by Tymber Dalton was a enjoyable read for me. The H/h characters were well developed and presented in a reasonable, true to life way. The supporting characters were fun, and it was good to catch up on their lives too. It always amazes me how cool and together Tony is.. He is such a go to guy, the man with the answers, the logical point of view, the voice of reason.

The author did not rush the recovery of Laura’s brain injury and amnesia, and it was much more realistic and added credibility to the story line. I felt for both Rob and Laura, as they wondered if they would still be a couple on the way to the altar, let alone still be in a D/s relationship during Laura’s recovery, and discovery of her life all over again.

For me the two things would have moved this story closer to a 5 star read, they were more suspense from the person staking Laura, and a little less apologizing between out H/h. Other then this I have respect for the story, the characters and the author. A nice job, Tymber. I hope we'll get to see Rob & Laura in future SunCoast books, so we can see how their life pans out too.

What can I say besides this book was amazing!! I feel like Tymber picked me up in the first page an transported me into the beautiful world of The Suncoast Society. Her characters feel so real that you just fall in love with them and want to be in their lives. I really enjoy the dynamics in her books. The stories come to life before me and they just sweep me away when I read it. There is just enough mystery and angst that you cannot put the story down. Another 5 fanfreakentastic stars from me!!! I will be patiently waiting for the next installment. Thank you Tymber for sharing your talent and bringing the voices alive that lumber through your head. I will be a forever fan of your writing!!

🚨🚨SPOILER ALERT🚨🚨

Damn wake up in the hospital after a serial killer tries to add you to his victim count with amnesia. What a great opening for us. Not so much for Laura and Rob. Imagine having to decide to keep important information about your relationship quiet. I do understand Rob not wanting to overwhelm his fiancee with the knowledge that they are in the lifestyle but it did seem to hinder her memory recovery.
I really liked how Tymber gave us glimpses of their dynamic by Rob remembering them. I am not really a fan of a lot of flashbacks I books but it was done extremely well here.

Tymber Dalton is one of my top 3 favorite authors and I read a lot. Between my two e-books I have 1200+ books and a library of hardcopy books. Tymber writes like she's writing from her own experiences even though I don't think she has had amnesia like in this story. There is a realness (Is that a word?) to her stories.
If you like erotica and BDSM themed stories but haven't read any of Tymber's work you are truly missing out on some great writing. I would recommend starting with The Reluctant Dom and then continue on with the rest of the Suncoast Society books.

Unfortunately this book didn't quite do it for me. The plot line of Laura trying to regain her memory seemed to drag on after a while, and I started skimming to hurry up and get to the end. The attacker was also somewhat obvious, and the fact that the detective and Laura (or anyone else) didn't seem to be able to put it together was somewhat frustrating. After re-reading (and loving!) other books by Tymber Dalton (The Reluctant Dom was a favorite of mine), I will definitely read other books of hers. However, this one wasn't my cup of tea.
