I loved Zeus but I loved this one more! When are friend inboxed me to read and review a book and I found out it was this one by Kamery I so damn excited I almost peed myself. Yes that is how much I love the series. Audrey, she's a caring, thoughtful "I already bought extra food for you," I rushed. "I figured you'd like a good, home cooked meal for a change. I saw the frozen dinners." The one thing I never really expected out of Audrey was jealousy, that really amused me, "it wasn't a date Mom," I sighed. "Which he made obvious when he spent the whole night with a bunch of other girls, who couldn't stop fawning over him. The fawning didn't seem to bother him, by the way." Sy he's well a man controlled by his emotions ladies and let me tell you the boy has a damn temper, I swear it is worse then my 4 yr old nephew's, "do you think I want to feel this way? I bet you just lie around and imagine how you're making me pin after you! Well, guess what? I don't want to have feelings for a widow! Especially one who can't let go of her dead husband!" He is one to also say what's on his mind which I like in a man, there's no beating around the bush with him ladies, "in your bikini. Red is a good color on you. Also, it's almost like you're parading around in your underwear for me, which I'm totally down with. You could do that for real if you wanted, by the way." That is so nice of him to give her permission! Now I got a hoot out of Hades and I seriously can not wait for his damn book to come out, "aw man," the man said, the flames dimming to almost nothing. "Athena, you have go to stop bringing every person you've wronged down here. It's not freaking Disneyworld." Yep I'm gonna love reading his story. Growing up I've always been into Greek Mythology it's always been one of my favorite subjects and there's so many different version about the myths out there and I do like a few but Kamery's versions happen to be my favorite. Of course in this installment there were heart stopping moments, and times I wanted to bi*** slap (mainly the author) for putting my emotions in turmoil, but other than those little incidents I loved the book.

I received an ARC copy of this book in return for an honest review. I would have to say I really loved Kamery's idea of making the Greek Gods modern. This is the story of Sy and Audrey. Audrey has everything she wants in life - a great job, a fantastic husband, a future to look forward to - when it all gets ripped away. I really loved how Kamery was able to voice the emotions of all the people (& gods) involved in this book. It made me laugh and cry and want to punch people. Men mostly. All at different times, of course. The story comes out surely, forging through the bittersweet and sorrow, then plunging into a story about moving on, forgiveness and love. It's beautifully written, and I definitely plan on reading more of Kamery's work, it's fantastic!

I loved this second book compared to the first one, the emotion felt realistic, and some twist at the end had made this story more interesting. I'm not a native speaker, but it wasn't difficult to spot the grammatical and spelling errors in this book. Again, I hope it would improve in the next book, Hades.

I picked this book up after reading the first book in the series called Zeus. I fell in love with Zeus and I was very excited to read the sequel.

I loved loved loved this book!

It was a bit hard for me to get into because we meet Audrey, a very likeable character, and she's going through some tough times. Her husband has died and she has to create herself anew. It was hard for me to relate to because I've never been married, and I've never lost someone in my life. Once I was able to get past Audrey's troubles, I was able to get into the book more. Audrey was a great character and I loved how she was able to get back onto her feet and move on with her life. I felt like she was moving on in a very healthy way, and I greatly appreciated that.

Sy was a very likeable character too. When we first met him, I was kind of wary. I was the same with Zeus, but after a while he really grew on me and I began to love him. He had a great sense of humor and I loved the banter between him and Audrey. My only real complaint about him was that I hated he used the nickname Sy. I realize that with the name Poseidon you don't really have a lot of nicknames to work with, but I wished he had another name other than Sy.

It was interesting to see how the book ended. I'm not sure how I feel about it, and I won't mention much of it so I don't give anything away. All I can say is that it was a weird switch, and I haven't read a twist like that one before.

Overall, this book was great just like Zeus. I definitely recommend it.

Let me start with this -- if you have NOT read Zeus (The God Chronicles Book 1), you might want to start with that book before reading this book.
Poseidon - contains reference to some things from Zeus - but could be read out of order. I personally would read them in order to get the most out of them.
Poseidon and Audrey's story is filled with passion and had me NOT wanting to put the book down once I started reading it!!!
I really enjoyed reading this book and recommend the complete series. They are a quick reads and would be safe for young adult readers as well.
I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

Stars: 4

Overall: Poseidon has a grudge against a man for his past and in every reincarnation that he has come back in, he kills him, this time it happens to be a woman named Audrey and her unborn child. After losing her husband and her child Audrey drives to the ocean and while in a grieving moment she falls into the water and something magical saves her. Sometime later she starts to move on by getting a new apartment and one day she runs into her hot neighbor that she finds out was the person who saved her from the water. At first she is reluctant hanging out with him because she doesn't want to dishonor her husband's memory, but eventually Sy works his way into her apartment and heart. After this point, Sy and Audrey become closer to the point that they love each other, but she is unsure of being with him because she doesn't know if it is too soon. Someone helps bring back memories that Audrey lost the night she almost drowned and it causes problems between her and Sy. In the end Sy had a plan up his sleeve and they get a HEA.

Pros: I did like Sy character most times because he was funny and he brought Audrey out of shell at the end. I really liked the ending when they went off to their island and Sy gave her his magic. I thought it was sweet and a very good plan on his part. Audrey's mother was the best because she always seemed to see the lighter side of things and always gave Audrey a new perspective.

Cons: At times I don't know if I cared for Sy like the way I did for Zeus in the first book. Also Audrey bothered me a little bit because she couldn't get over her husband's death. I do understand that you have to grieve and getting back out there can be hard, but it seemed at times that she stood in her own way of finding love again. I also didn't care for the battle at the end with Sy and the Ocean. I personally wished their was more action and that Sy acted more alpha and less whiny because he didn't get what he wanted. Your the King of The Sea gosh darn it.

Characters: Sy & Audrey

Series Cont: Yes ; Hades's book is next

Back-Story: Obviously, I read the first in this series ("Zeus") before this one. After reading that one, I was interested enough to purchase "Poseidon," mostly because he's my favorite Greek god.

Review: This book I feel could be a standalone. The plot focuses on two different people that were not in the first book; however, characters from the first book do appear in this one near the end.

Looks- My feelings for the cover are the same as what they were for the first book in this series. The cover is okay. It's not something that would make me want to purchase it if I had just been scrolling through the Nook gallery however.

Content- From the very beginning of this book, I enjoyed it. The beginning plot reminded me of a book I hold very dear to my heart that I read when I was child. So right away, this book had a hold on me to finish it.

Audrey is a very likeable character, in my opinion. Sy is as well, for that matter. I felt like Audrey was very realistic in what she was struggling with and she tugged at my heart. All the major characters are developed enough.

The plot is well-paced and not boring. What really surprised me was the ending. It didn't end in any way that I expected it. It was very surprising and well-written.

Likes: Easy, quick read. Likeable, developed characters. Well-paced plot. Fresh take on Greek gods. Not too graphic. Really awesome ending.

Dislikes: SO MANY GRAMMATICAL/SPELLING ERRORS. It was so annoying. I realize that this is not important to many readers, but it is important to me. It is sloppy in my opinion and cheapens the book. She must not have a very good editor or not even have one for that matter. This book had even more than the previous installment.

Overall:
Recommend? Yes
Reading the Next One? Yes. But I hope that there is some editing at least in the last one. One last try, right?

This story is about a girl named Audrey. She spends most of the beginning of the book struggling with the loss of her husband and the fact that she can't remember what happened because of a big fall she had. At first she wasn't willing to accept what had happened and moved on but soon she decided to listen to her friends and family and start going to therapy. I think that the main issue in this story that the author wanted us to experience was that not everyone is who they say they are and sometimes you just have to give someone a chance. In this book the main Greek mythology story that was covered was the story of Poseidon, the sea god. There were also other Greek mythology gods/goddesses and aspects such as Hades, the Underworld, Zeus, and Athena. The aspects of a hero's journey were also used in this book. The main character had to go through many different tasks to become the person she was at the end of the book. The only thing that I noticed wasn't completely accurate was that Zeus wasn't married to Hera like he is in Greek Mythology, he is married to Karly, the main character in the book "Zeus" which is the first book to this series. I would definitely recommend this book along with this series to many other people because it is a very modern book but it also does a very good job explaining the aspects of Greek and Roman mythology. It is very easy to read and I was kept engaged the whole time. It was a very hard book to put down because it is filled with so much adventure and some mystery between characters. This story ends with Audrey becoming the goddess of the sea with her new husband Poseidon.

Poseidon has always been my favorite of the 3 brothers so it is not surprising that I actually liked this book better than book 1. I loved him in Zeus and was glad he was still the mostly sane brother. And although I did like Audrey, I was also disappointed in her. I'm not sure she was a strong enough match for him. Overall, there wasn't anything wrong with her...she came across as sensitive, sweet, nice, etc. but until the end, not someone who could handle or stand up for /to the God of the Seas.

One negative of the book is that there were some grammatical errors (extra works, missing words, etc.). The other thing is that similar to the first book, although I like the style to a certain extent, I'm not sure a God acting like a typical twenty something is realistic either.

3 & 1/2 stars. Gosh, this book just didn't read anywhere near as good as "Zeus" did. The flow was a bit stop & go. The characters were ok, but nothing memorable. The plot was choppy & didn't seem to have anything pulling me in or giving me a reason to care. I wasn't even sure why Posiedon wanted to be a around Audrey, she sure didn't seem like his type or that there was a love connection of any sort & there was no hints at anything of what was going on like there were in "Zeus". Then the party thing ticked me off, I almost gave up & put the book down at that point. I disliked Poseidon then, & I never really got to even just like him a little after that. I truly think he came off more like a frat boy instead of Greek God-like being, & I think that hurt the character portrayal.

Poseidon is the second in The God Chronicles series but it could stand on its own. You don't need to read Zeus to understand Poseidon but I still think you should.

In Poseidon we meet Audrey, who suffers two devastating losses just as her life should be beginning. She meets Sy when she is at her lowest and then again about a year later. What role will Sy play in her life and how is he tied to her history?

I really enjoyed Poseidon and I love seeing Kamery's visions of the Greek Gods.

Zeus (The first book in this series) was pretty good, but this book was better. Sy is great in this book! I liked the backstory and the plot. Greek Mythology based books are my favorite. This one does not disappoint. I hope she does more Greek characters. I think it is refreshing that they are not all about Hades. While I love the story of Hades, it seems that most Greek books are about Hades and Persephone. Poseidon's books is great!

I liked this book better than the first but that is probably because I have always loved Poseidon more. I like the cover of Zeus more, though. Anyways. This is was very enjoyable and I liked reading it. The ending was very surprising and I felt like I just stopped breathing the very last moments. I was so glad the ending was not a cliffhanger! Could not deal with that.
Please finish writing the series! I cannot wait. It's killing me!

The second book in the God Chronicles is even more enjoyable than the first in the series. This story follows Sy and Audrey through their adventures. Poseidon’s actions at the beginning of this tale set into motion a series of events that no one saw coming. Beautifully told and easily devoured. Next up, Hades.

3.5 stars. Would've been 4 but the one I bought on my Kindle was edited terribly. A lot of spelling mistakes, problems with using consistent verb tense, and missing quotation marks made it annoying at times.
