"Gazing IntoaGlory" isa an encouraging word to invoke readers to enter into their birthright and become active participants in embracing the glory of God.
A friend highly recommended this book and I was eager to read it. It was a book I really had to work to stay with, and about halfway through, much of it I ended up skimming. It just didn't resonate with me. Part of this was that the writing style itself didn't always leave the main ideas clear, but the content at times seemed to contradict itself as well.
The point of the book (that I took) was that every believer is to walk in the supernatural power of God to the extent that they grow accustomed to seeing the spirit realm manifest literally. The author devotes a lot of time to relaying personal accounts of seeing into the second and third heavens, seeing and speaking with angels, and experiencing other supernatural phenomenon such as translations. He uses scripture to advocate the argument that we have overspiritualized the word "see" and missed the literalness of the word. In essence, he says, we are to experience God and heaven now with our five senses.
Where it got a bit confusing to me was that the author underscored the point that we are not to pursue interaction with angels or get fascinated with them (which I agree with wholeheartedly) but then a little while later he relays with enthusiasm a scenario in which a pastor friend encouraged people in his workshop to touch angels (this was how he started out his class time).
Furthermore, if one is going to advocate that believers open up more to the spirit realm and prime their imaginations, I felt there should have been a lot more emphasis on testing the spirits (1 John 4:1). For new believers especially, many could get thrilled about the possibility of an experience but expose themselves to something that is not from God. Lucifer himself masquerades as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14).
I kept thinking of the verse "blessed are those who believe and have not seen." Jesus Himself - Who He Is, what the word of God says He is, and who we are in Him - that is the real thrill.
What I did like was how the author started out talking about being passionate about God and being consumed with the disciplines such as getting in His word and being on our faces before Him. It seemed from there he got off onto the supernatural experiences themselves and suddenly it was about pursuing those through framing our imaginations.
Certainly I believe in angelic visitations, translations, multiplication miracles, etc. It's not the supernatural in this book that I have the issue with; rather, the book maybe could have been clearer.
This is a book that everyone must read and not only read but study. There's a of information and answers that need to be revealed to the Christian heart who wants to experience more of God and what He had for us.
The book spoke to me and confirmed some of the experiences that I am having with the Lord. It also opened up for me new avenues of adventure in the Lord. I am now looking forward to my own translation by faith experiences. Thank you Dr. Bruce Allen
Love love love this book... may we be transformed into the image of Christ to walk out the fullness of His Calling in Jesus Name, Amen
A must read for every believer who wants the fullness of Gods purposes for their lives in these end times.. The Glory of Spirit within Us, Jesus Christ is His Name
This book is not only fascinating but completely true. The church has not believed scripture and therefore has not taught its people how to live in victory. This book is great for anyone who wants to go deeper in faith and walk victorious.
This book will open your eyes and propel you into what the Lord has for you. A must read in the day we live in. My second time reading it through and am sure I will read it again.
Blow away by this book... Such an amazing read for anyone seeker deeper intimacy with Jesus. It perfectly and Biblically points out the things that are available to us through Jesus, and how a sanctified imagination & pure passion in pursuing Him yields revelation! This is going on my top-shelf of all time favorites!
This book contains many proofs through scripture that we as a Church are missing the mark. We wander through tradition and our own ways, while turning our own away from God, as well as others. We have been given a gift through the life of Jesus. If you have been wondering why there is no power; and why you keep feeling like there's got to be more to this Christian life than what you're currently experiencing or seeing, then it's time to decide.
Is God really who He says He is, or is He a liar? If you have been walking around and wondering why you are thirsty when you leave the church every week, you need to pick this book up! Thank you Dr Bruce, for showing me that I haven't felt this way for so long, for no reason! It's time to turn this up to a whole different level!
This book has truly opened my eyes to a new revelation of God's glory in the Earth...Because of Jesus being in me, as a child of His , washed in the Blood he shed, I have God's glory in me...I can release it and see death, and destruction avoided...all around, in and through me...Read the book...be blessed, be increased in revelation knowledge of what God has for this generation...in His glory!!!
