I received this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.
Diana Nixon it’s one of my favorite author. I've read all her books and I love them all. When she I found out she is going to release another book, different from her Love Lines Series, I couldn't wait to read it! And I loved this one as well. Diana has a way of writing that will leave you breathless. She puts love in her words and creates the perfect stories. Well written, well developed, the characters are brilliant and you always get the feeling that they are old friends. If I could give more that five starts to this book, I would do it in a second!
Hate at fist sight made my day. I couldn't stop reading it. The main character, Megan it’s different from other stories you read. She is ambitious, she doesn't seek true love and doesn't complain all the time. I like a strong character, it always make a better story! Megan puts her studies in first place! She wants to succeed in school and make a career! No love for her, she just wants to be a strong independent women. But, she meets Aiden and she doesn't know if she hates him or starting to fall in love with him. Not at all what she planed.
Megan agrees to give him a chance because she made a bet. But, will they leave it at that? Just a bet? They tease each other all the time, and the sparkles of love are starting to appear. But they act like kids, not wanting to face their attraction, and what this relationship could become. Will they end up together? Are they going to give each other a chance?
The love, and passions between this two made me giggle like a little girl. And the love scenes were really hot. I could’t put down my kindle! Diana Nixon made me fell in love with this characters and this book. I don’t know, it’s different from other books. Maybe because, she made the characters bold and with an attitude. I just want to read more about them! Thank you Diana Nixon for the opportunity to read another magnificent book. You will always be one of my favorite people and writers!
Diana Nixon has given her readers a great, easy and quick read that is sure to be loved.
I really liked the characters in this story, they were easy to connect to and enjoy.
We meet Megan, an ambitious, confident, and independent women who is by no means perfect and hasn't the slightest interest in a relationship. Megan has come home after fleeing several years earlier for her older brothers wedding and the first person she comes across is Aiden, her brothers sexy and cocky best friend.
For Megan it's instant dislike, while for Aiden it's instant attraction. Aiden pushes all of Megan's buttons, frustrating her but in some ways attracting her at the same time. The chemistry between the two crackles and Megan's feelings move between hate to like constantly.
I loved the bet they made and the 3 days of dates that they went on and we watch as they fall hard and fast for each other. The sexual frustration finally peaks and wow, it was hot.
After a misunderstanding on Aiden's part, Megan is left confused and hurt but picks herself up and starts her new job, only to have Aiden come crashing into her life again with more heartbreaking results. Megan and Aiden obviously love each other but things are constantly thrown in their path preventing their happiness.
Aiden's grand gesture at the end is simply amazing. It was beautiful how he put everything on the line to make Megan his, he just hopes that she realises that their relationship and love is worth it.
I definitely recommend Hate at First Sight. It's a quick read that I really enjoyed every second of.
Hate at First Sight by Diana Nixon I received this book in exchange for my honest review. This is a magnificent book! I simply loved it! Those characters were so intriguing that they leave me breathless. Megan…she is an example of a fantastic woman. Strong, beautiful, smart, independent. She speaks directly with strong words and she put everyone into their places in a second. I surely like that at a woman. And there is Aiden…OMG Aiden He is sexy, provocative and smart and he knows how to talk to a woman. From the moment that they meet there are sparks, intelligent dialogues, full of humor. The way they interact is fantastic. I liked so much that the action started immediately. From the first page the book catch your eye, you become interested by the characters, by their stories and you want to know more. If a book makes you want to know more about it, then you have a very good story to read. That’s why I like so much Diana, she just knows how to do it, she takes you into her world, into the story, you become a character, you want to act some way and you want to say something. Simply amazing! Megan knows Aiden is a hard to resist man and he doesn’t take no for an answer. But, she doesn’t want a relationship at this moment, so she tries to keep the distance. Aiden is best friend with Owen, Megan’s older brother. He knows a lot of things about her, but the reality beats the imagination. She is irresistible, very intriguing. Although she appears like a strong and even aggressive woman, he knows she hides something vulnerable behind that mask. Together they go through a lot of events, hilarious things from my view and they become close to each other. There is such an attraction between them that is very hard to resist. But none of them want to fall in love at the moment so they decide to play with it. And what’s the best way to play with a physical attraction than a …bet!! Just perfect! Of course, this will be a hard one because they both have strong personalities and...Game on!! Who will fall first? Who will be tougher and smarter? Who will use the best tricks? That, I will let you find out. The game just begun, the prize is big and the failure will have bad consequences. So, who will win this? The book is awesome. From the first page you will enter into the world of Megan and you will love her. I give it ten stars, a hundred if I can because is full of events and I never laughed that hard. I was at my house and I’ve started to read this story when something catches my eye: “Does anyone want to give me a hug?”I looked into the dining room and the kitchen, but no one was there. “I would gladly hug you, Sweetheart,” the voice behind me said. In that moment I laughed so hard that my boyfriend came to me from the other room and said I was crazy laughing alone. Oh, yes! I was crazy, I still am crazy but I can’t stop...It’s too good, such a interesting dialogue, such a story. From the beginning I knew that this is an awesome book and in no time I finished it. Amazing! Thank you Diana for letting me read this masterpiece!
Hate At First Sight by Diana Nixon Five out of five stars
Megan is a very strong, independent, and serious woman when we meet her at her parents’ house for her brother’s wedding. The last thing on her mind is having a relationship of any kind. All she wants to do is survive the week and head back to her place in London and start her career. Aiden is a sexy, irritatingly fun, dare devilish man, who pushes Megan’s buttons whenever he gets the chance - which is often.
During their time together Megan and Aiden find themselves in odd circumstances, stuck in a rain storm, avoiding an old boyfriend, and finally making a bet that will drive them both wild as the sexual tension and their unusual relationship begins to unfold.
I love a head strong leading lady in books and can completely understand Megan and her goals, but I don’t think I could have resisted as long as she did under Aiden’s gaze. Diana really had her work cut out for her with these two and she weaved them together perfectly. I wouldn't have found the writer’s restraint and probably added in a scene or two way too early just for fun, but I drift.
Everything from Megan’s resistance against Aiden, to his confusion and frustration about how quickly she seems to have taken a hold of his heart, was perfect. It was the subtle hints of jealousy, secondary characters and their plots, as well as the rush I felt as their relationship built up, peaked, and cascaded downward before being swept off its feet and into a fabulous ending. Talk about a great, refreshing, fun, and tasty read.
If you haven’t already experienced the world of Diana Nixon, this is a great place to start. She is also known for the Love Lines Series, a young adult fantasy. I want to say thank you again Diana for allowing me an ARC of Hate at First Sight. It was a great read and I look forward to your next book!
Such an amazing read! Megan and Aiden brought out a whole new meaning to a love/hate relationship. The way Megan's character is developed you find yourself feeling her frustration. Aiden though is very cocky, gets on your nerves and so very hot! What's a girl to do with a man like that? Reminds me of someone I know personally... hehe
Megan is not your average gal, she's not perfect and doesn't seem to be interested in anything other than herself. There's no time for a man in her life so she doesn't bother... I could almost relate to Megan in some ways at times I feel there is not time for fun in my own life.
Aiden would drive any woman crazy with his personality and sexy body. Times where I wanted to hug him and other times when I wanted to strangle him. I could so relate to what Megan was going through in her love/hate relationship with him.
Overall I loved the story and couldn't finish it fast enough. I wanted more and less all at the same time. The author has amazing skills, vivid imagination and a wonderful love for her characters. Anyone that loves a good romance will enjoy this read...
Aiden and Megan's story..Megan goes home after being gone for years to be apart of her brothers wedding and who is the first person she runs into? Aiden and it became love at first site at least for him. Megan wanted to hate him but found out that she enjoyed what he had to offer though egging him on became the norm for her and for him to her. She hated him but loved the way the tormenting went and he loved that she was the "One" she just didn't know it yet but all in all I think she did and she admitted it a few times in the book.. Even though they both loved one another trust was an issue for both. This book was an emotional roller coaster. I laughed out loud so many times and I cried along with the characters as well. For me this book was an awesome read that I will read again. If you want to know how the book hooked me just as I know it will hook you pick up your copy today it will so be worth the read. I can promise you that. Happy Reading.. PS: Make sure you have a screaming towel handy and tissues on the side. Your favorite comfort food will so help too..But in the end you will be happy that you read an awesome book..
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this, as it’s different to the usual contemporary romances that I’ve read lately. In the beginning, Megan is set against love and relationships, and it was refreshing to have a realistic and down to earth main character. From the moment Megan and Aiden met I liked Aiden, with his sexiness and teasing – just the sort many girls would fall for. Circumstances keep throwing them together, and it was nice for them not to fall head over heels immediately, though I’m not sure I could have lasted as long as Megan did! The story flowed, and nothing was smooth sailing, but it made it realistic and allowed the reader to connect with the characters more easily. I would happily recommend this book for all who like contemporary romance.
I received an e-copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This book is a love story which begins with hate. Megan has run away from her home town because of a boy and now she lives in London. She came back to her home town for her brother's weding. Aiden is the best man of Owen, Megan's brother. He is handsome, smart, annoying and confident. I liked the interaction between Megan and Aiden. They are so fun and in the same time so irritating, and maybe that's why I like this book. We see their relation building, deepening, destroying to finish by a beautiful ending. Diana Nixon is a great author, She has the power to let in us to her world and she describes very well the characters and their feelings. This book reminded me Tempting the best man by J. Lynn (aka Jennifer L Armentrout) but in Hate at first sight we experience more contradictory feelings.
"Love and hate are just one step apart, sweetheart."-Aiden
I couldn't put this book down! From the very first few pages it hooked me in straight away. As soon as Aiden and Megan met there is some serious sexual tension and through all the book. I just had to read on and on to see what happened next. It is a fun, sassy read. It will make you laugh , swoon-"You are one of those women that make angels fall."-Aiden (Come on, who can resist a guy who says that). It will make you hot and bothered-"It makes me want to hear the words you would scream while having that mind-blowing thing you've mentioned."-Aiden. This book will just make you go through all the emotions and its an amazing ride.
Thanks Diana for an ARC copy and get the opportunity to review it for you!
I'd first like to thank author Diana Nixon for the ARC copy only asking that I post an honest review.
Megan is spunky, sassy, driven an very independent. She returns home after a long absence, for her brothers wedding where she meets Aiden. He immediately gets on her nerves an sparks her temper.
Aiden is her brothers best man & best friend. He's immediately drawn to an intrigued by Megan. He knows he's pushing Megan's buttons and getting on her nerves but he enjoys watching her discomfort an frustration.
This book is one that keeps you turning the pages, laughing out loud, groaning in despair and sighing in awe.
I'm hoping we will get a second book that will continue on with Megan & Aidens story.
i was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review i loved aiden from the minute he came into the story he was sexy, hot and determined to win her over, they agreed on a bet that shed fall for him within 3 days with no kissing and no sex!!!!! she tries to remain unaffected by aiden tries to keep her distance but aiden woos her and who wouldnt want to be!!! i wont give too much away but there are twists and turns and misunderstandings that keep the story flowing and interesting this is my first time reading a diana nixon book but wont be the last loved it
This was a book that had me going up and down -- the story of Megan and Aiden started the week before her brother's wedding. From their first meeting it was hate at first sight -- they hated each other, liked each other, hated each other, loved each other...back and forth the entire book. I have to say that it had my attention to see how this whole thing would pan out..... it was an enjoyable read with THANKFULLY a HEA !
I recieved this book as a gift in exchange for an honest review. This is my first book I read by this author and I loved it. Hate at First Sight had me hooked from the first page. The characters were well developed. I will be recommending this book to friends and family!!
I was so excited to find out that this book is going to soon be released and as soon as I got it I couldn’t wait to find some time to read it. First of all, I simply love the Love Lines series by Diana Nixon and I thought it would be interesting to see something different from her fantasy novels. The writing style is engaging like always and more often than I would have expected I found myself laughing at the snarky dialogue.
Hate at first sight is the perfect read for a lazy day, fast paced and entertaining. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Megan is quite different from all the other characters in contemporary romances. Although she is visible attracted to Aiden she has other priorities like studding and building herself a career. She struggles to hate him or at least tries to keep the distance, but it seems that he is way too charmed with her.
I loved her attitude though, even when she agreed to be with him due to the bet. I enjoyed their little tease game and how neither of them was willing to lose the bet even though it was hard to hmm…restrain. And there were some scenes that made me blush not only once. I don’t usually give credit for this, but the romantic parts were HOT and brilliantly written, without giving too much, but having enough. I know, I am a little vague, but trust me, they are hot.
I liked Aiden, he is hot, smart, annoying in a good way until he messed it up. Then I couldn’t help but hate him a little. Well, at that point I’d have to agree with Owen (Megan’s brother), when he said that they both acted like kids. There was not a shade of maturity between them and they waited for a fair amount of time to talk about why they were so angry about each other.
In the end I am happy that they ended up together, but I was a little sorry for Richard. He was not an important character and only showed up in the last couple of chapters, but Megan seemed to care about him. She didn’t love him, but she care about him on some level and when they broke up and he said that is ok, because he knew she was in love with someone else…that melted my heart.
*3 stars* I was very eager to read this book after I read the synopsis and saw the book trailer.I thought this book would be something different and new but to be it was an ok read.
There were many things I found disappointing :- 1) The female lead Megan is 1st shown as a strong character but she runs of because some guy she really liked said something to hurt her. 2) I could not get the chemistry between the main characters. 3) Most of the book has UST 4) Because Megan gets pissed she goes for an impromptu trip to Spain and gets engaged !!!! 5) the book is too short - it should have an epilogue
I think Megan's character is a bit confusing but Aiden's character was well written. So it's an ok book with HEA but I was very disappointed. :'-(
Diana Nixon has done it again with another great book. She knows what her readers want and brings it to life in each of her books. The characters have a personality that any reader could be hooked on and wish it was real. She is talented in her details and enjoys teasing her readers with cliffhangers sometimes!!!!
In this book, Hate at First Sight. The two main characters didn't want nothing to do with each other. In the end hate didn't win and if you want to know more details the book is waiting for everyone to read. The one thing I am hoping for is a sequel so we can see where the couple is a year down the line.
I highly recommend all of Diana Nixon's books and hope to see more being published down the road.
"Love and hate are just one step apart, sweetheart."-Aiden
The quote says it all… They love and they hate and they love again. This book is a fun, sassy read. I particularly loved the scenes where they are dancing, oh my word the dances! It was very well written and well thought out. But I don’t know why the story seemed a little abrupt to me? They got over the initial hate so quickly. I was expecting to read a bit more of bickering and back and forth between the characters. Maybe it was so abrupt because they were like magnets? Completely drawn to each other at every moment. Overall love is in the air and love does conquer hate! Beautifully written romance…
