It takes an irresistible bribe to pry Harold Gretton away from his experiments to act as a bodyguard for an escaped prisoner. Bored with his confinement, American businessman Martin Tillman is delighted to find that Harold is a like-minded fellow. The sparks that fly between them seem to go beyond mere passion to Martin, but Harold is disinclined to put his trust in emotion.
Can Martin convince his scientific lover that what lies between them is more than experimentation?
Rejoin the Brigstock family as science takes on treason…and love.

review written for http://mmgoodbookreviews.wordpress.com/ Harold's brother Perry charges Harold to keep a fugitive safe. Harold agrees reluctantly until he meets Martin. Feelings stir, reminding him of 'experiments' he and Andre conducted before he was sent home from his brother Nash’s. This is yet another beautifully written work by a very talented story teller. Poignantly written, a great story, interesting characters, a touch of intrigue and hot mansex, what more could you ask for.? I highly recommend this to anyone that loves historical romance, mystery and intrigue, inventors, and hot mansex
There's not too much to this story, but I really liked it. Mostly because of Harold. The 4 stars are pretty much all for him. He's a spazzy, distracted, rude, smart, and analytic little guy who can take care himself (and everyone else, even if they don't believe him) and he couldn't care less what anyone thinks of him. He really won me over. His love interest, Martin, likes him despite and/or because of his unusual qualities and even encourages some things that would likely annoy anyone else. They worked well together, though I think their relationship moved too quickly into love, but that's the usual for MM.
