Xavier Cheveyo is left to watch after a very pregnant Rory. The rest of the pack is out searching for Blake Howland, the man that kidnapped Emory and threatened the pack. When Rory goes into early labor, Xavier breaks several traffic laws to get to her. The last thing he expected was to be tackled by a human, female, police officer just trying to do her duty.
Officer Nina Blackwell is more than she seems. The surprised werewolf pinned beneath her doesn’t know that she isn’t human. What Nina is about to realize is that taking down the son of an Alpha is about to change her life.
Lynn Leite is an author, artist, teacher and mother of three. Her wild imagination, and gift for gab blended perfectly in 2009, when she decided to write it all down. In addition to writing, she designs and illustrates her own covers.
This episode we get a witchy police woman and her father who is leader of the local coven adding to the story. It was a good addition and this time the male mate was a little unexpected. The evil OM ramped up his campaign of terror and the h was amazing. Loved the heroine and her father but a good editor would make this a 5 star read.
First, no spoilers. This book has so much going on, it's hard to review without spoilers. I will only say, I love Ranger and was happy, and amused at the woman he gets as his mate. Nina is a kick butt and take names police officer! Xavier finds this out the hard way when she tries to pull him over for speeding. He doesn't stop because Rory has gone into labor, and he figures the officer will understand why when he gets there and can explain. Before he can get to the door, the petite black haired beauty takes the tall, brawny shifter down with ease! To say he's shocked is an understatement! Rory takes over, and as they rush to the clinic, she makes sure he knows she will never let him forget that he got his butt kicked by a human woman. Nina and Faith become involved in trying to find, and take down the insane shifter who has targeted the Alpha's family; specifically his two new daughters-in-law. He is a pure blood fanatic, and thinks all humans are inferior to shifters. He must be stopped! Nina comes up with a daring plan that just might work; if it doesn't get her and Faith killed. When their families find out, it might be them they have to fear. Don't get me started on their mates! Read this thoroughly engrossing series and find out what happens for yourself!
I enjoyed the story when I wasn’t mentally correcting the misused words and poor formatting. IT’S ACCEPTING not EXCEPTING... The number of times that word was misused shows the author has nary a clue how to figure out which word is needed. Scary for a teacher to be so under-educated. I read this series years ago, I came back to it as something to entertain...but I forgot how Lynn’s lack of editing and proofreading irritated me. I will finish this book, but only because I feel the need to give it a chance to improve - even though I know the quality doesn’t. I hope that down the road she gains respect for herself and her craft to hire a decent editor - or at least invest in a valid self-editing program to help the problems mentioned in this review.
2 Alphas get their true mates in this book. Ranger met Nina at the clinic when Rory had her baby and wham she is a witch that was turned to make a really powerful were-witch. Faith had been infatuated with Ranger for years was introduced to his Uncle Knight and wham true mates. Nina sets a trap for Howland and destroyed his forces, only he got away. Can’t wait to read about Xavier.
ranger meets his mate and she's not only a witch but the daughter of the head mage. the pack is still chasing Howland, the insane and sociopathic wolf who threatens their clan. again, her books are too short to give these stories more detail.
I really liked the story and was glad for the extra love match. The new mates power is awesome. The girlfriend thing was a little dumb but didn't take away from the story.
I have read this series several times and it never gets old. When Ranger finds his mate it fireworks from the beginning. Seems she a witch with strong powers and you don't want to piss her off. Which the bad guys do naturally. It's a fun read.
