The Wild #3

The Untamed

Rate this book
I live in the Alaskan wild with my family because it’s where I belong.
Safe. Loved. Protected. Happy.

Beyond our home is a violent, ruled society I don’t ever care to encounter.
My oldest brother already went that route, and it ruined him.
Being around strangers means heartache, pain, and misery.
I’ll stick with what I know because that doesn’t hurt.

All I need are my siblings.
They’re my best friends.
Life is fun with them.
Together, we’re free in the wild.

But the wilderness is also the home of predators.
Bears, bad weather, sickness.
Other people.

We thought we could live alone and unmolested by the latter.
We were so wrong.

With their sudden presence, everything about our lives is challenged.
Loyalties become twisted.
Hearts get tangled in the chaos.
Feelings and urges cross impossible lines there’s no coming back from.

Bewildering. Depraved. Perverted. Dark. Vile.

My secret desires are wrong.
They threaten everything I hold so dear.
I could fight against it if I were alone in these forbidden thoughts.

I’m not.
We’re in this together.

Our love is untamed.
And we are the unruly.

the only illegal thing about this book is not the incest but, in fact, the lack of chemistry.

i can’t believe this is the same woman who wrote Hale. help.

Going into this I wasn’t too sure how the author was going to play it, was it going to be like the wild? with a twist that made it forbidden and not so taboo as I’d originally thought it would be, or would the author smash those boundaries to smithereens.

I think this was tame in terms with how this book could’ve gone. I was prepared for it to go full metal to the pedal taboo, because you just don’t know which way this author will go.

This really focuses on the 3x eldest as they wade through life’s boundaries living away from civilisation, and having no outside influences with one’s their own ages has them leaning on each other, feelings and unbidden cravings have them conflicted, though they know right from wrong. What makes this worse is the secret that their parents hid has been revealed, adding more confusion for these three.

Secrets never stay buried forever.

And of course there's a bloody cliffy, happy there's more to come but please warn a girl next time lol Because that is no little cliffy, it's huge, life changing!!

I never want this world to end, I want them all to get their own story.

Damn, K. Webster, she did it again; it just proves that she is the taboo queen. As soon as The Untamed hit my Kindle, I couldn’t wait to read this book.

I love being in The Wild World again, and of course, I Love Daddy Reed. Now is the next generation with Devon and Reed's tribe of children. Can their past be hidden forever from their children? Are they safe from the outside world? These are the questions I asked while reading this book.

The Untamed is Raegan, Ryder, and Ronan's story. Their love for each other is beyond what siblings feel for each other. As much as they try and fight it, feelings and jealousy get in the way.

The book started strong, with an intense ending and a fantastic build-up. Not as spicy as compared to the other books. Don't be alarmed; it doesn't take away from the storyline, and I feel the heat will intensify, In the series. I swear that ending nearly destroyed me. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Really.. a cliffy and no smut? Wtf??

I'm really okay with building up the story. I understand that to make this kind of relationship work, you're going to need some runway. However, why couldn't we have been warned. I hate when I don't get warned of a cliffy.

Also, I won't apologize for not getting more spice though... that's what I'm here for with these taboo ones.

I was so excited when I heard that Kristi was writing about the second generation kids of the Wild World. And when I finally had the money to buy the paperbacks/hardbacks from her official website I couldn't be more thrilled.

But the Untamed is totally different then I expected. I expected hot, deliciously taboo and toe curling sex scenes. But Kristi decided to go another way. At first I had to adjust myself to the new direction. But once I did, I couldn't stop reading and devoured The Untamed as fast as I could.

In this book we follow Ryder, Ronan and Raegan. The siblings are very close. And this book is focussed on the bond between the three of them. And the bond between the entire family. I love how close they are. How they fight but have each other's backs. And how strong their protectiveness is towards each other.

I loved the older children but the young ones as well. And even though it is not Rowdy's book. I fell head over heels in love with Rowdy. I cannot wait to read his story. He is so much like his father. And heavens know how much I love Reed.

But Ryder, Ronan and Raegan are exploring their sexualities. And they are fighting the bonds and attraction between them. Ronan is gay and is afraid his father with reject him. Ryder is feeling love for both his siblings. And Raegan longs for connection. Especially after spying on her parents.

But amidst all that they bump into a large group of people. One woman is pregnant and is having false contractions. At first Reed wants them gone. But the kids are drawn to the other kids and the younger adults in the group. So he allows them to stay for awhile.
New people conjure up new feelings and things get heated. Both in anger as in lust.
And I loved how tight nit the Jamison's are.

But things are not adding up and quickly unravel. And when they newcomers make a colossal mistake Reed send them away and wants nothing to do with them anymore. And that results in something catastrophic.

The book ends on a huuuuuge cliffhanger! Thank fudge that I bought The Unruly as well. I will dive into the fourth one straight away!

5 big stars from my favorite Kristi Webster family! Love, love, loved it!

🌶️🌶️

This is my most anticipated book of 2023! As soon as Kristi hinted at a sequel to the The Wild duet I about lost my mind. And she did not disappoint!!

This is the next generation, about the kids of our favorite taboo couple. I didn’t think I was gonna like Ryder, but he had my heart. I knew Ronan was gonna be sweet, but he found his claws when he needed them. And Rae’s psychotic ass, I couldn’t help but root for her.

Honestly, Reed and Devon can only blame themselves for keeping Raegan in the dark. On top of that, making everything ‘forbidden.’ They might as well just dared them to do everything that comes to pass.

Kristi promised a slow burn with lots of angst and that’s exactly what we got. It may have been a bit much for my tastes, but the drama counteracted that. Despite having foreseen a lot of what would go down, it didn’t take away from how thrilling it was. I was still on the edge of my seat for the last quarter.

Seriously, those last few chapters were nuts. And don’t even get me started on that cliffhanger!! I actually didn’t see some of that coming.

Good god! How long do we have to wait for the next one?!

My initial reaction to this story is that it surprised me with how slow-burn it is and how slow-moving the relationships are. I appreciate the character and relationship growth, which at times was frustrating due to the plot-driven nature of the story. I am excited to see where this story goes considering the cliffhanger that leaves many storylines open-ended.

Also, I liked the relationship dynamics between Ronan, Ryder, and Raegan. I think this aspect of the story was done well, given their strong connection to one another, which is further complicated by their growing feelings, which are strictly forbidden.

Overall I enjoyed the story, even while finding it frustrating. I take that to mean that I cared about the characters and their story even when the story was not what I was expecting.

A darkish taboo (incest) SLOW-burn MMF romance in the Alaskan wilderness! So many siblings, banters, newcomers, forbidden feelings, survival, attacks, kinky, emotions, & a HOLY FUCK cliffhanger! Be mindful of Triggers. Devoured this in 5hrs, glad I've got the 2nd one to read ASAP. I don't read MF incest, but this was an exception being MMF heh.

This book focused more on world building, so the relationship pace is slow, but I'm ok with hints we got. After all it IS a duet. I enjoyed learning about Ronan, Ryder, Raegan & others. Especially as I'd not read their parents' story, this is a new world to me! The parents are strict (ass-whooping..? Talked not seen), I feel kinda bad about it. But they're loving (which we see lots of).

The older siblings: Raegan (17) is wild, bratty, craves freedom. Ryder (18) is protective, fierce. They butt heads, Childish but sweet. Spectacled Ronan (19) is a reader, quiet, soft spoken, & Rae's bestie. Ron may be gay which is a mindfuck for him 😢.

The desire between the 3 builds slowly here—voyeur (🤯), cute pups, swim, accidental touches, jealousy, hurt, push & pull, kisses & make-out (Ya, nothing further!), so wrong but feels right. It's a complex love triangle before it's more. Rae plain wants'em. I hope Ron's a lil Bi for her sake 😅. Ry's totally Bi-for-Ron lol. Family secrets, poor Ry....After that climax, no sending away😭. Got bigger issues than inbreeding!!

Those Outsiders came, & changed all. Rae took to CJ, & Ron took to Logan (THAT SLEAZY A-HOLE!!). I was team Ryder from the start!! Newcomers friendly yet bad vibes. Problems started. Labor, tension 😞, bears, attack, an assault 😢, hunting, lines cross, Unhinged. They're BAD NEWS, glad Rae & Ron (& fam) realise it till last.

And that climax. GODDAMN. Devastation & missing, so bad. Ryder has so much on his shoulders. Ronan & Raegan...?!?!?! Shit. This duet should definitely be read together. I'm hoping for more sexy times in next one 🙌.

Genre: Contemporary Romance
Type: Book 3 of The Wild series
POV: First Person - Multiple
Rating:

The Jamison family happily called the Alaskan wilderness their home. Even though mostly cut from civilization, Ronan, Ryder, and Raegan knew they would always have each other and the rest of their family. But an unexpected arrival changed the dynamics and threatened to unravel the tightly weaved threads.

It’s been a while since I was in the Wild world, and I’m glad to be back. The first half was slow, but thankfully there were enough happenings towards the end to keep my attention. While it was a slow burn and lacked sexy parts, I didn’t mind it much because the characters drew me in.

I know I promised Ronan once upon a time I’d never leave him or our family, but it’s times like these that I’m reminded of why I want to run far, far away from here.

I loved Raegan and her rebelliousness and how her personality clashed with Ryder's. It was hard to choose my favorite, but Ryder won me by just a smidgen. While Ronan was more subdued, I liked how he had to battle slightly more than the others.

The Untamed is a story of personal exploration and belonging. It would appeal to readers who enjoy taboo romance with a shot of suspense.

Note: Book 1 and 2 are standalones. Book 3 is not.

I liked this one. Found it was dragged out a bit, but I think it was well done as it builds it up to the next book The Unruly
This is low on spice level, but the world building this author has done with this series is fantastic.

A fantastic slow burn from K Webster. It is the taboo story of 3 of the Jamison Offspring, Ryder + Ronan + Raegan. We are 1st introduced to the Jamison Family in The Wild (there parents, Reed + Devon's story)

It is full of tension, suspense, the forbidden. Set in the wilderness.

It gave me 'Deliverance' vibe. (The movie), it has that type of eeriness.

It ends in a Cliffhanger of all cliffhangers! I can't wait for the finale! 😱

I'd recommend reading The Wild 1st, to get some background on the Jamison Family/dynamic.

Thank you to Unalive Promotions, for this awesome ARC opportunity.

Lastly, but most importantly please check Trigger Warnings before reading.

The Untamed By K Webster was dark and adrenaline filled and I feel I was on the edge through the whole book. If you love extreme taboo romance, then it's a must read for you. Set in the Alaskan wilderness, The Untamed is dangerous and sinful.

It has extreme taboo topics like incest between blood relation so reader discretion is strongly advised. I hate when people don't check all the details, jump in a book and then trash it. It's cool if it's not for you but read all TW & CW before entering this world.

This is a second generation story but you won't be lost if you have not read the parents' story. I have not and it hasn't stopped me from enjoying the book. It's about an unconventional family who stay is the deep forest of Alaska and they have their own system and resources. Reed and Devon tried best to give their sons and daughters a normal life as much as possible. But Raegan is in a teenage rebellious phase. She hates how her brother Ryder tries to shelter her and she loves how her other brother Ronan is her best friend. Ryder and Ronan are both struggling with their sexual awakenings and that too for people off limits. When a travelling group takes shelter near them after Daddy Reed's reluctant approval..things start to get difficult. Will these strangers destroy their family? It ends in a crazy cliffhanger. It's heavy on suspense and lot of time is spent in building up the dynamics and the background for that cliffhanger so it wasn't heavy on romance or sex.

I loved Ryder and Ronan. Ryder is an alpha who is extremely protective of his family and he doesn't know how to handle his growing attraction for Raegan and jealousy over Ronan getting close to the newcomers. Ronan is sweet and shy and he is having sexual awakening too. Raegan was getting on my nerves and I feel she played a major role in bringing the danger to her family's doorstep. She was a total brat, whining over everything, overreacting in a typical teenage way and took some terrible impulsive decisions. I understand she wants to be independent and to be treated as equal to her brothers but she was acting so irrationally most of the times. I am afraid she is going to learn her lessons in a hard way. Their parents have taught them enough to know not to trust outsiders but I feel their mistake cost them dearly. And I hope the puzzle pieces will fall together in next book.

The wild book # three

Not as taboo or spicy as I thought it’d be. There’s no spicy scenes in this book and the siblings Ryder, Ronan and Raegan are teens and exploring their teen hormones and confusing feelings for their other siblings who are about the only people they are ever around.

A groupe of people who want to live off the grid, set up camp near their home and Daddy Reed isn't happy about not but when one of the pregnant women of the groupe is in destress he lets them stay on the property. meanwhile the teens are excited having other teens around and especially Ronan whos now sure he's gay(-ish) is finding a connection with Logan the big hunky man of the intruders. While Raegan is having a moment with CJ, which has Ryder the protective sibling realising he's jealous of both Rea and Romans connections because he wants them both to be his, and his only.

The drama is good and it ends on a cliffhanger that had me more engaged in the last few chapters then the rest of book. But as always very well written by KW

Onto Unruly to find out what happens next 👀

I thought this was going to be about Rowdy, the oldest son, but it seems like it will be about the two ‘joined at the hip’ younger sibs. What a read this will be!
* Read it. I had to wade through Reed and Devon’s compound becoming a KOA, Kampgrounds of America, with the road show from ‘Deliverance’ showing up on their land and wangling an invite to stay while one gives birth. I thought it was a small family group traveling through the wilderness, but I think I read twenty-eight people! I was disappointed in Reed letting this wretched group into his family space. The love/lust story between the sibs got lost among the crowd and the copious amounts of soap opera drama. Brothers Ryder, Rowdy, and Ronan were the best things about the book. Upright, loyal, and even with the conflict of sexual attraction between some of them, they had a strong moral code. It was sad to see the chaos their lives were thrown into by the band of interlopers. Their sister, Raegan, is tossed around in the emotional maelstrom of this story. Much of the anguish is her own fault, but she is still a sympathetic character. Her complaining about family life did get old, though.
I thought this would be a solid and emotional one and done story among this compelling family. Instead, it is a cliffhanger and more of a soap opera with some violence and often was boring. The anemic dribs and drabs of sex were disappointing, too.
I see where the author is going with this, and everyone has to earn their daily bread, but serial stories and cliffhangers are not my jam. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Alaskan wilderness is the only world Ronan, Ryder and Reagan Jamison have known. Depending only on family is their way of life but family also dictates when they must leave to make their own way. When all they know is threatened, they must survive on instinct.

“You let me give you what you need. That’s what brothers are for. We take care of each other.”

Narrated in multiple POV, these three siblings have different personalities but they are all fiercely protective of each other. Raegan knows what is expected of her but she wants more. Ronan is fighting his own inner battles. And Ryder is strong and ready to take on their burdens.

The character development is steady and the bond among the Jameson siblings is underscored by their love and what transpires. Though I thought the plot and taboo elements were moving at a slow pace, I did not know this book wasn’t a standalone which would have changed my reading experience had I known. I remain curious about how all will continue with Ronan, Ryder and Raegan and also how the culprit will be found.

Untamed is about bucking convention and surviving outside the grid. This book may appeal to those seeking a slow burn taboo romance with suspense elements.

Usually, I don't buy books not from Amazon, but I was happy to make an exception for this book, which isn't on Amazon because the romance is incestuous. I'm glad I did so because I really liked this book! I'm grateful K Webster felt inspired and decided to return to this world she had created. The Free came out in 2020, so it had been a while.

The romance is between Ronan (19), Ryder (18), and Raegan (17). Yes, all those R names confused me. The eldest brother is named Rowdy. To keep their ages straight, I wrote all three down on a Post-it note and taped that to my computer as I read on my computer's Kindle app. Ronan is gay, so it's a little of a love triangle. Raegan liked Ronan at first, then also Ryder. Ryder liked Raegan first and then Ronan. And Ronan likes Ryder.

The book is slow burn because they realize they have sexual/romantic feelings for each other. Kristi could have just made this book about the three's illicit feelings, but she also threw in a massive subplot that is almost greater than the romance. The subplot starts when another group comes to stay on the Jamisons' land as one of their women is having false pregnancy contractions and needs the medical advice the parents can provide. It's always a risk letting other "wild" Alaskan people into your lives. As we slowly discover, this other group of people bring nothing but trouble.

I'm very excited to read The Unruly as this book ends in a cliffhanger. Luckily, K Webster isn't mean and is releasing that book in a couple of days, so it will be here before we know it. Hopefully, I'll be approved for the ARC too, even though I'm not a big book influencer.

I knew straight away when I started this book yesterday that it was going to be a good read and that I was in for a treat. I thought to myself ooh, do we have another 5 star on our hands? It was just a little too slowburn for me to be five stars.

End in a cliffy.

This was NOT a favorite what so ever and I love this Author. I wasted 5.00 to be bored. This book really has no spice and you don't "feel" the connection between the main characters.

The best part was the end of the book! Not sure if I will read the 2nd part once it comes out. It has to be better than this Right?

I never expected this book to end on a cliffhanger of this kind.
I knew in my heart that Logan abused his wife and was hiding something, but I didn’t realize his entire group was involved too! My heart breaks for the Jamisons. I don’t like seeing Reed like this, even though he and Devon were getting on my nerves for most of the book.
I really loved Raegan, Ryder, and Ronan. I have to see how this throuple works out in the end.

I don’t know what I was expecting but this wasn’t it. In a good way!
We have three of the older siblings that are coming into their own. So many hormones and feelings and uncertainty and weirdness they all feel. Living in the wilderness and only knowing Mom, Daddy Reed, and their siblings… lines blur when your besties are giving you … hard ons… making you wet…. It’s wrong right? I mean.. that’s your brother… your sister… but you love eachother… your all eachother has….
This book isn’t as spicy because we’re developing multiple characters personalities, and they are all struggling with their feelings for one another.
Book one is really about world building and character building.

Book one really dives into how these kids were raised and they really sheltered their daughter Raegan… she didn’t even know what an erection was… and when you shelter kids to the extreme… of course they’ed seek out their closest favorite humans for some … release…. Desires…

However, the older brothers Ryder and Ronan know a bit more about what incest is and the consequences of it… lines still blur….
We have MF and MM tiny moments.

The huge plot of this book though.. holy shit.
Outsiders encroach on Daddy Reeds land… Who are they? What do they want? Will they have friends? People that live by that they aren’t related to?

BRUTAL CLIFFHANGER … I need the next book ASAP

Maybe it’s because it morally goes against my code of ethics, but I was a little bit weirded out by the amount of times that these children were threatened to be hit with a belt. And at one point in the book, the daughter was smacked across her cheek by her mom. Maybe it’s just me but damn! I hated Devon so much as a mom in this story. I thought she was awful. 🫣

Wtf was this…
I loved the Wild…but wtf was this

Zero spice. The body parts touching weren’t even the main characters…and where was the chemistry between 3 people? A lot of it was one sided…

This book was too plotty…if I wanted to read something for the plot, I would have picked up a horror.

And that ending…bruh..this isn’t a standalone.

This book should be called the tamed…this got me f*cked up.

I loved Hale and was hoping something similar but nope it’s hella bored. Ronan is hella boring. There’s no chemistry between Ronan and Ryder so I don’t know why the author forced this relationship. Should be Ryder and Reagan or hell even Wild and Reagan. Not gonna read the next book. Sad because I loved the wild and the free books.

Review 🤔📝

Untamed turned out to be a great read for the Taboo genre. Right from the get-go, it had me hooked, illustrating a wide range of emotions - angst, love, anger, hurt, betrayal, and joy. The plot caught me off guard, it did not solely focus on the forbidden love tale, but presented a character-driven narrative that took me by surprise. However, be warned, this book steers clear of any smut; instead, it lays the groundwork for future developments, which I presume will unfold in the subsequent book.

FMC - Reagan Jamison

I tried to relate to Reagan, but often found myself incredibly frustrated with her antics and outbursts. I understood that she felt confined to the house and being a “kept woman” like her mother. BUT she annoyed the shit out of me with her foolish decisions and her selfish actions when it came to her sister Destiny. This made it incredibly hard for me to relate her or root for her. I am hoping we see some meaningful growth for her character in the next book.

MMC - Ronan Jamison

Ronan, sweet and conscientious Ronan had my heart until Logan Greer came on the scene. I honestly feel like Ronan’s personality and character flew out the window when he laid eyes on Logan; after finding out Logan has a wife, Ronan proceeds to chase after him even after learning of his wife’s brutal rape. I found this to be very off-putting to be honest. As I said, I feel like his character just did a 180 around this guy. I did feel sorry for him as he was agonising over being gay and what his parents would think/do when they found out. Ronan does pull through in the end though and comes back to his former self.

MMC - Ryder Jamison

Ryder was the star of the book for me. He is the ultimate protector; touch Ronan or Reagan and someone is going to regret it. He is fiercely loving, loyal and protective of his family and has a good head on his shoulders. He battles with his feelings for Reagan throughout this book but also finds himself attracted to Ronan too. This is a dilemma for Ryder as he thought he could have something with them but found out that incest can result in a plethora of problems.

Reed and Devon Jamison

I was not impressed by these two 20 years later. The casual use of physical abuse as a way to keep your children in line and even your adult children is insane to me. Devon has no problem slapping (in the face) or hitting Reagan when she curses or is being disrespectful. Reed has been known to take his belt to the children when they disobey their parents. I found their parenting style archaic and I can’t see how this family dynamic is going to last. The children will pay the ultimate price for their parent’s selfish choices and I don’t think either of them gave much thought to the consequences of their relationship down the road with children involved.

Ending

I was blindsided by that ending. I knew something bad would happen, but the graphic nature in which Webster portrayed the Greer’s sadistic side and what they did to the Jamison family was shocking. There was so much suspense and angst in the last few pages that had me on the edge of my seat!

Verdict 💭

I really enjoyed Untamed and I am anticipating The Unruly to continue Ronan, Ryder and Reagan’s story. If you love Taboo with plot, then be sure to start with the first book in the series Wild

It starts wild then free, this one is like a free for all! Wow. Reeling from literal shock on this book. I wasn’t sure how this book was going to go but I hands down loved it!

What did I like? This is such a unique story and story line. I’ve read so much but nothing really comes close to this. I went in blind without the trigger warnings and didn’t need them. If you’ve read the first two you will love part three!

Would I recommend or buy? I’m definitely getting a copy. Every story should be told and I was completely sucked into this one. Maybe it’s not a story for everyone but I’m definitely hooked! Five stars for being bold telling this story!

I received a complimentary copy to read and offer an opinion. I loved it!

I devoured this book! Having loved The Wild, I was very excited to return to this world and K. Webster did not disappoint.
This is the story of Ronan, Ryder and Raegan.
My favorite was Ryder. I just loved him the most. Rae was sassy and innocent at the same time.
This book will push boundaries, it is NOT for everyone so if you didn't enjoy The Wild, you probably won't love this either.
This is taboo, forbidden but as always addicting! I cannot wait for The Unruly.

*Huge thank you to the author for sending me an ARC*

Remind me to never get a wild hair up my ass and think I can go live off grid in the Alaskan wilderness.

I hate cliffhangers. If I’d know this was one I’d have waited.

I wish I did now 😒.

*spoilers ahead*

This book is different from the first two. I’m not sure how much I like it TBH. Not much spice and the angst and attempted heat just wasn’t on point like it normally is in her books.

I’m not a massive fan of the trios … Rae and Ronan and Ryder.. this is going to get messy I think. The passion just wasn’t there. It was more desperation than anything else. That’s how it came across. And I have to say I’m not a fan of Rae’s character. She’s super bratty and I cannot stand brats. Authors can make strong, independent women without the brattiness. It’s so unattractive and annoying.

I was obvious from the start the Trespassers were not who they said they were and something was going to happen. It was obvious the way CJ, Jace and Logan honed in on Rae, Dez and Ronan quickly and without warning that they were there to take over Reed and Devon’s home. I didn’t expect them to take off and leave the way they did.. at the end.. and the way they’ve done it. Stolen some of the kids. The next book will obviously give us the what happened. I hope Reed and Devon make it, and their kids.

I was surprised they killed their own though. Maybe they were the good ones who wanted out. Hopefully we find out.

Reed should have followed his gut when they were hunting Kristen’s rapists (that clearly didn’t exist)… well clearly to the reader. Now we wait to find out if they survive and the why of it…
