I love Micah! From the very beginning of the series, he is who I wanted Nadine to be with. Well, maybe not the VERY first, I had to figure out he wasn't the bad guy first, but then, I was all for him over Victor. I love the dark haired guys best, especially the cocky ones with tattoos. Micah is just perfect! I have to admit, I was a little frustrated with Micah in the second book because it doesn't seem in his nature to not go for what he wants...to be upfront about how he feels about something or someone. I was thrilled to find there was a book written from his point of view, and more so to find that the book followed up to Soul Oath instead of being a part of that book from a different point of view. Cup of Life really let me see Micah and understand a little about him and why he isn't acting the way I thought he would when it comes to Nadine. I really enjoyed the story, even if I wished it were longer. I can't wait for the last book in the series.

Absolutely wonderful! Cup of Life was a fantastic novella, featuring the POV of the swoon-worthy Micah. It was just lovely and it has me very excited for the next book in the series. Loved it!

I already adored Micah, but seeing inside his head made me adore him even more. He was so sweet and so clearly devoted to Nadine. He was so perfect and I absolutely loved him.

This novella was a great segue to book 3. It set up another part of the conflict and gave a hint of what's coming up next. It definitely raised the stakes. I really enjoyed the story and the ending has me anxious to get my hands on book 3.

Cup of Life was a wonderful novella. Fans of this series, you will love this short read, because it was just perfect.

I loved Micah in Destiny Gift and even more in Soul Oath, which I just read earlier this week. Reading from his POV made me like him even more. And my heart was breaking for him through most of it, particularly the end.

I read this in about an hour and now I can't wait for the next book to come out.

After reading Soul Oath, I was definitely having some Micah withdrawals. I'm so glad we finally got his POV! I was dying to get inside that sexy, cocky, and stubborn head of his. I loved him before reading his novella and now I love him even more. We get to know more of Micah more in depth through small glimpses of significant moments in his life; both as Mitrus and Micah. We also meet a new character and get some of the romance and action we loved in the first two books. Though it may be short, Cup of Life sure gives you your Micah fill and also leaves you so intrigued you'll be flipping the pages like crazy.

"Thirty or forty years ago, I wouldn't have stared at the girl in front of me for more than five seconds before charming her into going to bed with me. But this girl… this girl was different." -MIcah

For centuries, as Mitrus the god of death, Micah was seen as an unjust, heartless, and selfish god. A god who would do anything and everything to get what he wants. Reborn as Micah, its clear that he has completely changed from the man he used to be. He's now compassionate, caring, loyal, trustworthy, and loving. The complete opposite of who he used to be and a change that everyone who knew the old him can clearly see through his actions and words. It is also extremely evident to everyone around him that Micah did not become this way on his own. But with the help of someone special; Nadine.

"I hadn't loved anyone in so long. In fact, other than my human parents, I hadn't loved anyone, ever. Did I love Nadine? Maybe. Probably." -Micah

Growing up with loving parents showed him what unconditional love is and their death tore him apart. Once he met Nadine, everything changed. She brought love back to the surface of his heart. Something he hadn't felt for anyone other than his parents. When it came to women, the only thing he's ever felt for them was lust but this time its so much more than that. Micah doesn't really know how to deal with these new feelings and emotions he's feeling for the first time. That coupled with the regret and guilt he feels for all he did in the past, cause him to feel unworthy of being with someone like her.

"I was a messed up man, with a bad past, and I would never be able to make up for everything, and she deserved to be with a man who was as perfect as she was." -Micah

During Soul Oath, we saw him try his hardest to stay away from her and not let his feelings for her show. But here we see him reach a point where he just doesn't give a damn and is ready to be with her at any cost. Unfortunately, being with her may just cost him something. Because of the deal he made with Nadine, Micah is now faced with the reality that sooner or later, he will loose Nadine. Micah, not being one to give up easily, will do whatever it takes to not let that happen. He'd willingly go through hell and back just to be with her; to have more time with her if thats what it took. I really don't envy Micah in this book. He goes through some hurdles and also has to make a decision that either way he chooses, someone will suffer the consequences. Its a definite lose-lose situation. This will be one of the most important and difficult decisions he will ever have to make. Both his heart and the fate of the world hang in the balance. Which one suffers, is now all up to him.

Overall, Cup of Life is a total must for every Micah fan! Our boy only gets even more irresistible. Yea, I know. I totally didn't think that was possible either ;-). All I know is that I NEED book 3 like now! Because the ending…damn, talk about one hell of a cliff hanger!! I have no idea what I'm gonna do with myself while I wait. I really can't wait to see what his decision will be and how it will affect all involved. I'm also excited to see how the war with Imha goes and what other surprises lie ahead. I'm really hoping we get more of Micah's POV in an epilogue or follow up novella because I just know its gonna be really hard to say goodbye.

“I tried…to stay away from her, not to touch her, not to hug her, not to kiss her. So far, I was failing.”—Micah
The gods have their scepters and are ready to fix what chaos has brought to the mortal realm. But first, one of the gods must go and search for the Cup of Life, an artifact that could grant immortality to any human who drinks from it. To have his heart’s desire, the price may be the world…

“She deserved to be with a man who was as perfect as she was.”—Micah

This is a perfect bridge story! Well, I guess I can’t say perfect since I haven’t read the final book in the trilogy aka what this book is bridging with book two, but it has all the elements of a perfect bridge story! If you haven’t read the previous books, you’ll probably be totally lost with what’s going on. If you have read the previous books, you don’t want to miss this one! We have a slight tangent to the main storyline (with Nadine as the main protagonist) as Micah goes off to find a solution to the pesky little Soul Oath he agreed to—you know, the one which will kill the girl he’s fallen for.

If you’re a fan of Micah, then stop reading this and go pick up the book. Since it’s told in his perspective, we get to know him a bit more, including why he seems to be running hot and cold with Nadine. We get to see flashbacks, which was very cool, of his life and see how he’s changed from being cold-hearted to…less cold-hearted. Since it is a bridge novel, there isn’t much resolution in the story (I think I can safely assume this plotline will continue in book 3) and can probably be easily summarized in book three so I can imagine you can skip this story if you hate Micah for some reason. But come on, it’s Micah! How can you hate him? Well, unless you’re Nadine and he just brushed you off yet again. And Levi isn’t really a fan. And the Death Lor—oh never mind! Overall, this is a 4 out of 5 for me!

Disclosure: I have not read this series so I cannot say how well it fits or expands on it.

Cup of Life was a short and quick story of Micah's love for Nadine. Throughout the story there are many ways that we can see just how much Micah loves her and what lengths he would go to in order to keep her by his side forever. The flashbacks, while normally annoying to me, were done beautifully - in a way that they became more than just another look at the past. They actually seemed to expand upon it and enhance the emotions of it.

Even by itself, this was a great story. I imagine that to readers that have grown to love these characters throughout the story would love it even more.

This was an interesting read. I love Micah and was thrilled to see this novella was from his point of view. This book allowed you to see how he really feels about things, people and how much he has changed. The only thing I didn't like about this book was that it was too short, I can't wait for the next book. Hurry Juliana, I'm anxiously awaiting the next book in the trilogy!!

I couldn't help but fangirl at the end of Soul Oath and saw the words "NOVELLA TOLD IN MICAH'S POV." I get to pry into another corner of the love triangle without really having to pry. Hashtag YAY.

It kind of makes me giddy as well. I may have squealed a little (hey, I have those moments).

Micah's a fun character; I'm sort of wishing Destiny Gift and Soul Oath had more of Micah, and it's a lot of fun seeing things from the another corner.

Though I still found it funny Nadine slammed the door in his face and he still needs an ego check.

Plus, we get to see his true motives. And we go down Memory Lane, in which I pretty much forgot a few things here and there, but it's from Micah's eyes so... *innocent look*

Cup of Life also seems to be a high jump into the 3rd novel, which hopefully has some great things to come, and maybe we'll get to pry into Micah's mind some more??? ^_^

By the Evelast, this just keeps getting better and better.

Yep. I had to quote Victor. But I don't mean it the same way as he does, and for some reason I imagine him as an animate statue lately. Like... that one god in Camp Jupiter... but less grumpy.

Micah has lived life both as a god and a human. Being human has taught him a new appreciation for life and love. Now he has a soul indebted to him--the soul of the girl he loves. Unfortunately her heart is broken after a traumatic loss. Her desperate request has left Micah torn. To do as she wishes means losing her forever. The cup of life is his only hope. Will he succeed? Is Nadine, his love, lost to him?

Since book one, I have been Team Micah, so I was thrilled to discover that there would be a novella from his point of view. And I wasn't disappointed. Thanks to this first person story, the reader sees more of Micah's internal conflict and feelings. What touched me the most... his human side, especially his love for his family. Readers don't always get the chance to get into a favorite character's head, so this is a real treat.

But there's also some juicy story going on as Micah faces an intense test in order to procure the cup of life. A test which provides the reader with a lot of insight into who he really is. He's multi-dimensional--the perfect mix of strength and heart. There's a lot at stake, and both sides are trying to use him to their advantage. I'm intrigued to find out what choices he will make in the future.

I can't wait for the next book!

To fully enjoy and appreciate this novella, please read the first two books in the series: Destiny Gift and Soul Oath. I loved both!

My Review: 4.5 Stars our of 5 *****

By the Everlast, I really enjoyed this Novella. From the tantalizing synopsis to the cover (and maybe a little that Micah is a dreamy, sexy book boyfriend) I was excited to read his POV.

I was very surprised to find the story is actually a continuation of where it left off in Soul Oath, and not a re-telling of what we already knew from another perspective. Yay, way to go Juliana.

So we have a Micah, and a small matter of the Soul Oath that Nadine practically black mailed him into making. He isn’t happy, it won’t be long before they get the upper hand on Omi and Imha. Then it will be time to fulfill the oath.

Only he can’t. He can’t lose Nadine. So on a quest to find a way to break the Soul Oath he learns there is but one. One that may cost him dearly. The story maybe shorter than the first two, but it is full of action, soul searching revelations and some old foes coming to force Micah’s hand.

What I liked most was getting into the head of Micah. Learning more about him, how despite being the god of the underworld, his personal journey through his death and re-birth has shaped him into more than the death dealer he used to be.

The story also sets up book 3 in the Everlast series so tantalizing, it makes me wonder just where it is going to go.

If you love Micah, you’re going to love this :)

Cup of Life is told completely from Micah/Mitrus's pont of view. When I first found out about this book I did a giddy little happy dance. Okay, so I was at work at the time, but I definitely did that giddy little happy dance in my head. Even thought Micah is my favorite, sometimes I still wondered what was going on in his head. This book gave me that, and I love him that much more now. Being a novella, this book was obviously pretty short, but it gave me to understand a Micah behind the scenes of how he outwardly appears to Nadine. My only question is why didn't he tell Nadine where he was going? She may not have wanted him to go, but at least she would have known. Hmm. Cup of Life has me pumped! I'm ready for book three!!

Firstly I would like to thank the author for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this book.

Well I'm a huge Micah fan and when I got my hands on this novella I just couldn't resist my curiosity and plunged into Micah's mind and I loved the experience.

If you're a Micah fan then you wouldn't want to miss this one I swear, so go on and grab this thrilling novella right now and devour Micah awesomeness!!! Just loved this one!!!

First, I would like to thank the author Juliana Haygert for giving me this book for an honest review. Second, I have to say I have been missing out since I have not read the first two books yet. This book was a very good read. The characters are well developed and the story flows nicely. This story is told from Michah's point of view. The only downer for me, is that it was a novella (short read) and so it was over way to fast, I prefer novels. I will be working on getting the first two books and looking forward to seeing what else happens in this series.

This book was a great addition to a trilogy that I am loving so far. I can't believe the next installment isn't out yet. I can't wait to sink my teeth into more of Micah. I have become completely obsessed with this character. This novella is told from his view point which I knew I'd devour in one sitting. Although very short, this novella tells Micah's point of view perfectly and within the allotted time. Come on book 3 where are you??

Cup of Life is a great novella on Micah's point of view between the 2nd and 3rd book. It was great to see his inner thoughts about Nadine and see him as a redeemed character and hero. I was shocked on how it ended but it makes me more excited for book #3. Loved seeing the flashbacks with Nadine too.

Original review at Gabic Reads. Review copy received from author via Xpresso Tours in exchange for an honest review -- Thank you.

Summary according to Gabi:
Micah loves Nadine and would do anything to keep her safe and in his life. In this novella, his limits are pushed and we learn just how much he loves her.

Since this was a short novella, I'll just share a quick review. It was nice to get away from Nadine, who tends to wallow in self pity, and get into Micah's head. I'm definitely Team Micah. This book showed just how much he cared for Nadine and lengths he's willing to go for her. The only thing I disliked about the book, is that it seemed to end abruptly. But hopefully, Micah's adventure will continue in the third book. I;m looking forward to it. (Also, what do you think of my attempt at summarizing the novella? ;) the Goodreads description doesn't tell you anything so I thought I'd write my own. lol.)

In Destiny Gift Micah was a bit of a bad boy, luring, and charming. In Soul Oath he was still charming and luring, but he cared and changed from the first book. Yes, I became smitten by him and when I found out this novella was told in his point of view I couldn’t wait!!

Cup of Life was a short enjoyable read that helps furthers this series and give us a chance to see behind Micah’s eyes. And being able to feel how much he truly cares for Nadine and how much she’s changed him for the better is absolutely amazing, I love reading males side of things! Overall this made my heart soar and I’m hoping dearly that we’ll get Micah’s point of view in the third book!

Cup of Life is full of heart wrenching romance and spine chilling action with a world vividly written.
