There is a spy among them. Plans and components for the shuttle have been stolen and all signs point to Glenn, the newcomer.

But before he can be banished Glenn reveals to Pollen that a mysterious prisoner is still being held captive in the solitary level at Crimson. Determined to rescue him, she must find a way back. But how many lives will she put at risk?

About the author

Daelynn Quinn was born and raised in southern Maryland where she spent her youth exploring and falling in love with nature in the woods behind her house. She graduated the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in dietetics, which she promptly abandoned to pursue writing. Daelynn’s writing is fast-paced and laced with current issues that concern her. Her first dystopian trilogy, Fall of Venus, focused on climate change and the biochemical industries. Her recently-released YA novel, Neverland Academy, delves into child abuse and negligence. Daelynn is excited to be commencing a new series, which will tear into the animal exploitation industries. While she is not reading or writing, Daelynn enjoys brainstorming while mowing her lawn, cooking healthy meals her kids refuse to eat, and watching old episodes of Mr. Bean with her three boys.

I received Crimson Return in the Goodreads First Reads giveaway yesterday. This is the second installment of the Fall of Venus series. It is very well written, the story flows smoothly and I could relate to the characters. They seem real and not contrived, someone you care what happens to them. The main characters, Pollen, Marcus, and Evie are some of the survivors of a worldwide viral epidemic and their daily struggles, physically, mentally, and emotionally. This is a must read in a great series!

Wow, another great book by Daelynn Quinn. I actually think this was better than the first book in the series (which is rare for me). I couldn't put it down. There were a few parts where I felt like smacking some sense into Pollen but it makes me wonder how I would react to situations if the world went down the toilet and my life was turned upside down... Other than that, (or maybe its because of that - the real actions/reactions), I love the characters. I feel like I connected with them even more in this book. I felt like I could visualize the surroundings more in this book and I love the world Quinn has dreamed up. I love the flow of this story, its so well written and thought out. Interesting and entertaining! A fantastic story!

And the ending... not nearly as profound as the ending in the first book - that was a crazy "aha" moment for me!! But I'm so invested in the characters that I am dying to find out what happens next. And I'm dying to know how it ALL ends! And hopefully how it begins on A1D3. I will be reading any and all books in this series!! Can't wait for more!!

This book was way more drama heavy than the first one was. It wasn't until the very end that we got the same level of action that we did in the first one. I was really hoping for more of the face paced intensity that I loved in Fall of Venus, but this book, just like many second books, was driven by a love triangle. I hope in the third book we return to more action because the first book was so, so promising.

Pollen is still strong - trying to survive in a post outbreak world... Torn between Marcus and Glenn and the surprise that ocurrs and changes everything! The romance, adventure, and relationships are all believable and tastefully done with subtlety that leaves you feeling like you know the characters personally...
A must read 2nd installment in a great series that will leave you wanting more!

This was written in away which I did not want to stop reading. Great story line and characters. Left me wanting more on to Part #3. Can't wait!!

This book has everything I would expect for a sequel to A Fall of Crimson, and much more. This book effortlessly juggles the sci fi and dystopian elements without letting it overwhelm the story, and scare the reader off Quinn still knows how to effectively weave a story with powerful moments, characters with depth, and something that lingers with the reader. The first book was quite book, catchy, interesting and really brought us into the world Pollen is living in, but this second book shakes us up. There are time in this book I really wanted to jump into the story and shake Pollen around a bit, a nice little slap to pull herself together. She gets shaky at time, understandably so, but it’s frustrating for the reader, we want to see her do more. There’s less action in this book, compared to the first book, but it makes sense. There’s more layers to this book we couldn’t experience in the first book, so I didn’t completely mind the lack of action, but the end gives you a good amount of action, if you stick it out and read to the end, you won’t regret it! My only criticism is I’m not honestly a fan of love triangles, I’m over them, you just seem them too often, but the author does a good job with it, and it doesn’t take away from the story, it’s just a personal preference for me. The back story here that we keep getting more of is darker as it goes, and it’s really well done, I think this book I enjoyed more than the first one, I think we’re given more to draw upon in this story, and I do like the development of Pollen, Marcus and Glenn. It’s a testament to the author’s talent, and I can’t wait to start the last book! I still have some questions, so I wonder if they’ll be answered!

I am still wondering if the story is set on Venus or Earth.

The story's love triangle is not overrated. I quite had a hard time choosing side because Glenn and Marcus deserve Pollen. What I enjoy about Crimson Return is the sudden twists and revelations. They were unexpected but it really spiced up the plot. Can't wait for Part 3.
