What happens when a germophobe, elusive computer hacking genius has to stop to fuel up her car and it’s stolen right from under her nose by a handsome vagrant?
Revenge of course.
Only he’s no vagrant. He’s a computer hacking genius, too, and her competition.
Curses along with inhibitions—fly out the window and through the phone when he calls repeatedly to harasses her. Who will win the upper-hand, if there is such a thing, between these two stubborn, obnoxious people?
Warnings: Includes graphic love scenes, crude language, and dubious consent.

Honestly though, maybe the reason i really enjoyed this book ,was because i went in with like,SUPER-LOW expectations... People on GR have seemed to have either Hated or really loved this book enough to give a 5 star....and i was a worried on what side of the wagon,i would fall on.
RECOMMENDATION:To me at least, this book was defiantly fun ride.I mean, with its hilarious storyline, sexual batterer and original characters..i found my self really enjoying a quick evening read with this humongous smile on my face... So yeah, this book ? i would defiantly recommend it !
Really glad i picked this one after a series of 2 star reads ! :)
I unfortunately pick out books based on ratings and was really excited to read this one. I didn't get the story or the characters, it was just bizarre!

A moment later, hot spurts infiltrate my oral cavity. He grips the back of my head and almost hugs me to his crotch. His cock hits the furthest reaches of my throat, and I hack and cough to keep from gagging ‘til I puke. He lets his hands go, and I almost spit him out. When he’s free, I’m struck with an overwhelming urge—an odd sensation comes over me. I swish his come around in my mouth like it’s mouthwash. I like the way it feels, and I figure it’s antibacterial. I gargle a little bit of it for a second, swallow it down, and when I look at him, his eyes are so dark, so full of fire, I stop breathing.
I want to scream, “Dirty, filthy germs!” when he pulls my pants down and his tongue drifts up my thigh, but I know my issues with germs won’t stop him. “You’re gonna shave this shit off for me.” His hands move through my pubic hairs. “Fuck no!” I shriek with my back jettisoning off the countertop. “It keeps harmful bacteria out of my vagina.” “And getting rid of this mess . . .” he looks down at my pubes “. . . has been proven to lower the incidence of crabs.” “You have crabs?” I squeak and try to scramble away, but he grabs me and pins me in place. “No, I don’t have fucking crabs, I’m just saying . . .” I grimace and shudder. Crabs. He has them. And now I probably do, too.
This book is a mix-genre erotica. It reads like a young adult contemporary novel, but with lots of sex in it. There are some futuristic elements when it comes to technology, but I don't really consider this a sci-fi book.
The young adult portion . . .
Because the characters reminded me more of high school kids and not grown adults.
Vapor - The male H is still being controlled by his father and basically living under his father’s thumb. He reminded me of a boy trying to break free from his controlling parent and find his own way, not of a twenty-six year old man.
Ides - The female H was more believable as someone around college freshman age, which she is somewhat closer to at twenty-four. But there were a few things with her character that seemed a little contradicting. Like why an inventor genius germaphobe like her wouldn't invent some kind of decontaminator for her germ problem, was beyond me. Instead she just invents a moisturizing hand sanitizer? Umm, okay then.
Also, some rude name calling with fat references was another reason why these characters seemed immature to me.
The contemporary and sci-fi portion . . .
The slang and crude language did give the book an urban type of feel, but it was more contemporary because the book seems to take place in our own current times. The few futuristic items of technology in the book were the only parts that could be considered science fiction.
The erotica portion . . .
Lots of sex, dirty talk, and the characters having conversations during sex. Most of it was pretty hot. Some of it was just plain weird. Other parts were like Really?!? You're having this conversation now? Definitely variety & weirdness going on with the sex scenes.
The story . . .
Even though I have a love/hate relationship with this book, the story was interesting up to about the first 200 pages or so. After that, I was just ready for the book to be over. I kept waiting for some kind of resolution and for them to get their act together, but it never came. A lot of issues went unresolved or just kind of given a quick little wrap-up.
The characters . . .
Despite all their flaws, I found the characters very intriguing. Maybe I liked them more than I should have because of all their flaws. I don't know, but they were fun to read about. Vapor was crazy, obsessive, reckless, and sexy. Ides was crazy, weird, stupid, and sexy. Call them whatever you want, but boring they were definitely not.
The book also has a few hot guys to choose from. Team Riot! Poor guy was badly treated through out most of the book though. I hope to see a HEA for him in the next book (if she makes this a series).
Overall . . .
The book is interesting, creative, and worth reading. If you're willing to overlook the issues I mentioned above.
I think this author will only improve and get better with time and experience. I will look out for future works by her.

'Slick as Ides' is a mix of genres, but very much a mystery all the way through, so please don't read it if you can't stand not-knowing everything (or just take a look at my spoilers).
Ides is reclusive, witty, sensitive, skittish, a computer hacker, a crazy inventor, a big-time germaphobe and an eccentric genius. Well-known as elusive, with no-one better than her, everyone wants her, or her inventions.
Vapor is big-time crazy for Ides- he'll do absolutely anything for her; she only has to say the word. He's dominant, jealous, an asshole, angry, a thief, a kick-ass lawyer, a hacker and dabbles in inventions. He's obsessive over Ides, stalker-kind of crazy, if he doesn't want to be her, he wants to screw her... After talking to each other in a chat-room for hackers the past month, they can't stop thinking about each other.
The Mystery.... You're never really sure what's going on behind the scenes until it actually happens. Say for example; she invents something, then we don't get to find out what it is until its actually used. I've read 'Sleeves' by Lowell too, and if you have, well the mystery is along a similar style, but it's a lot less 'WTF'.
Sex... It's got heavy, filthy (totally FILTHY, to the point of squirting lol), lots of detailed, long, sex scenes that include bondage and loads of the best dirty talk.
The geek speak... isn't un-follow-able for non-geeks, but it will be enjoyed by fellow geeks; lots of crazy inventions, and everyone in this book is some kind of hacker, inventor or geek.
This was my kind of book, it's not for everyone I don't think, it helps that I enjoy geeky-ness and crazy sex. There were so many good scenes; Ides kicking Vapor's ass at gun point, Vapor being awesome in court, the reveal of Ides inventions, Vapor breaking in to the fortress of Ides house to tie her up and fuck her brains out...
I really loved it... Loved the cover, loved the mixture of love, hate, enemies and lovers. Loved Vapor's crazy obsessive ass. Loved Ides kick-ass inventions and witty comments. Love the plot and loved the sex, a lot!
If you'd like a little bit of background to help kick-off, and so that you don't get frustrated with not-knowing much at the beginning please have a look at my mild spoilers:
I always find it amusing how the ARC readers claim it to be amazing! The best! (or even just make a long commentary on how awesome the cover is.) I'm guessing not one of them actually read the book. I read this for free as a Twilight Fanfic. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't necessarily mean its poorly written. In this case it just isn't a very good or believable story. Major eyeroller. Not just the whole techno savvy parts, but the whole "I'm a germaphobe because you kissed me and then puked on my shoes after when we were young and that changed my entire life to revolve around hand sanitizer." And well...a lot of other parts...but I won't spoil the book for the ARC readers who may actually read it. To everyone else who would have to pay for it, I recommend you pass. There are better Twilight fics cum "published" stories out there.
Gorgeous cover! Really have to give a shout out for the cover. Not only gorgeous but made perfect sense for the story line. Sometimes I see covers and though they may be stunning, I don't get what they have to do with the actual story. This time..spot on! Kudos to the author and L.J Anderson of Mayhem Cover Creations.
The story line was brilliantly original, a very unique quality in that our protagonists were computer hacking geniuses, just as the premise states, but...so genius are they that they invent the craziest and most amazing little contraptions that you could ever imagine.
Things like rigging their homes and cars on command by the sound of their voices, creating computer chips at the drop of a hat, and implanting them in themselves and others. And what drives them is the challenge to create, to out do one another in their own little world of hacking geniuses. And sometimes create things for the good of humanity. To stop a hurt or injustice that was done.
With that said...
I had the hardest time writing this review let alone offering a rating. I flip flopped between 3 and 4 stars, finally settling on 3 1/2 stars.
Here's my dilemma...
The story was very well written, the prose had an amazing flow, and the characters were likable and engaging. The story line was very good, very original. What I didn't particularly care for was the amount of sex the lead characters were engaging in. Every time they were together, they were having sex, really dirty sex too. Their entire relationship was based upon sex and the sex they were having was not always appropriate to the story line for the most part. It did not drive the plot. Don't get me wrong, I am definitely a fan of smexy times, and totally got how intense they were for each other, but when I am reading a really good story line, that is constantly interrupted with sex, it's disappointing. I felt it actually took away from the story on a whole and found myself skimming through the scenes more and more as the book went on, which I rarely do.
The author could have given us so much more about these two because they really were interesting characters. I wanted to know so much more about them, especially Dena. These issues are why I only gave the story a 3 1/2 rating. The story line if the author chose to pursue and develop more of the story as opposed to the sex, was definitely a potential 5 star rating, as the basis for the plot was excellent.
Sounds like I didn't like the story? Not all, I absolutely loved the characters and the plot.
Really such a good plot with twists and turns. I really did like the story and Chanse Lowell is an author I will keep my eye on for future stories.
Definitely worth the read but fair warning on the diminishing and unnecessary sex that took over the story line.
Why did I read this?..............oh yeah, because of this:
What happens when a germophobe, elusive computer hacking genius has to stop to fuel up her car and it’s stolen right from under her nose by a handsome vagrant?
Revenge of course.
Only he’s no vagrant. He’s a computer hacking genius, too, and her competition.
It sounded so great.......But I could only do this while reading:
So, honestly I really didn't know what was happening in this book half the time, but I loved the romantic aspect of it. I loved how Vapor loved Ides. They were really sweet and I loved how there wasn't really any resistance in their feelings for each other.
First of all, I can't thank Chanse enough for allowing me the privilege of having an ARC copy of Slick as Ides. An amazing story that held my attention from the first page. Chanse is as ingenious as her main character Ides. Smart funny. If you haven't read any of her stories, run don't walk to the nearest story. Slick as Ides had me guessing until the very end which doesn't happen very often for me. Her characters are so easy to like or hate depending on who. Nick is sexy, naughty and a great match for Ides genius. Chanse does an amazing amount of research for her stories. Her historical accuracy astounds me and I'm a history buff. I'll make sure to put this on my list of books to buy friends. You don't need to understand science to understand this very scientific story of science, love and technology. She makes this so easy to follow you want to invent something yourself. Outstanding book I will enjoy over and over. A thrill to read. A must to own.
I give an A for the plot. However, the rest of the story was a stretch. Ides is a germaphobe or is she? I had a hard time with this trait. How can the smallest things set you off but you can kiss your boyfriend who just licked a random surface?! I love futuristic gadgets, it's the treky in me, but some of the inventions didn't make sense. At times I found myself re-reading sections because there were holes in the scene and I felt I missed something. There were several moments when I almost wanted to shut the book and go to something else but the.basic story kept me interested enough to want to know how it would end. I don't think I will read the next installment but I wish the author success.

I appreciate the opportunity to read Chanse's novels. She is a fantastic writer, better than well known authors ive read. This novel was even better than id imagined it to be, it kept me at the edge of my seat, making me want more. If Chanse decides to write a sequel, I would gladly read it. It makes me want my own Nick. This novel is beyond a doubt maybe better than Sylvia Day's Bared To You. I would recommend this novel to anyone who is interested in reading it. It will not let you down.
I read Slick as Ides in one day. Chanse created a whole new breed when she created Ides and Vapor. They are charming, sexy and hilarious. Two people so much alike and with the brains to make us go wow. Vapor is as sexy as they come and a tsunami in bed; the sex scenes were scorching. He has a wicked sense of humor and his love for Ides if off the charts and Ides is witty and so cute as a germophobe with a strong moral compass. These two make an amazing duo.
Loved it! This author has a unique writing style, sometimes delving into WTF territory, but always entertaining and oh-so-filthy. I also like the way she slowly reveals the mysteries of of the plot. Vapor was a great hero, obsessive, jealous and arrogant but also very sweet and with a dirty, dirty mouth. Ides was a kickass, funny heroine. Looking forward to reading more from this author. I believe a sequel is coming up for this book as well. Bring it on!
This book did not do it for me. I really really tried. I just couldn't connect with the characters. I felt like I was missing so much. I even checked to see if I missed the first book when I got this off amazon, It seems like it was so long ago. So I kept reading thinking it would all start to come together. It didn't, at least not for me.
LOVED the cover and the book was a free one so of course I had to get it and read it. At first I thought Nick/Vapor was just to cocky, "yep. Invented a way into your wet panties. Wanna come over and check it out, make sure it works correctly?" Then I thought he's kinda a creepy stalker boy, "for you? I might. I want you, I think you know I touch myself while I fantasize about you. Can't you tell I'm doing it right now?" Then I thought he really does like this girl, "do you know how long I've fantasized about touching you?" His fingers drift over the side of my right breast and down my ribs. "How long I've been dying to eff you? A ten-year-boner isn't funny. I put Viagra to shame." Maybe that was a bad example of how much he cares about his girl try this one, "if he so much as effing breathes on her... she hates that s*** from him. She told me, and I'm not okay with him flirting with my girl." Although I liked the book I thought it was missing something.
I received an ARC from the author for the purpose of an honest review for GoodReads.
I absolutely cannot stress enough how much I loved this book.
Right from the start, this book dragged me in. The cover art is amazing and the summary was just enough of a tease to draw me into this wonderful little world of techies, germs and a hot filthy-mouthed man!
This book was so much fun to read and I found myself falling in love with Dena and Nick. It has been a long time and a lot of books read, since I have found myself so engrossed in a storyline.
The characters were phenomenal, the dialogue was wonderful and the storyline was like nothing I have read before. I loved how the author was able to make techie geeks fun, lovable and not just left in their parents basement!
This is definitely one of those books that will be permanently residing on my to be read again shelf!!!
I truly enjoyed this published version of Slick as Ides. It was a pleasant completion of the fanfic version. More details, more plot, more character development.
The sex scenes were hot like fire! The dialogue was funny as hell! Best of all, the plot was totally original and unique. Very creative and engaging. I can honestly say that I've never read anything like it. Minimal editing issues, not even enough to interrupt the flow of the story.
In short, this author is a welcome addition to the wonderful world of indie writers. I will definitely be reading more from Ms. Lowell.
I found this to be a good book, but a little hard to follow at times. Did Ides find Nick or did Nick really find Ides! I was confused at times. But overall it was 3.5 for me, I like a book with a good plot but there was more than one going on which to me just confused things. I do love the fact that Nick wouldn't give up on Ides even if he did look like a stalker some of the time. He was quite the dirty talker, but never in a mean way, even if it appears to be that way at the start of the book.
Ok as much as I wanna find something to take away from this book. I just freaking can't. I received an ARC for a honest review of this book and here goes..... Reading this book was bitter sweet I loved the add in and the in betweens. Lol the book moved at an awesome pace and kept me wondering what was going on up until Chanse laid it all out. Great book babe. I'm going after Knots next can't wait until I dive into that diddy.....
Ok this is my second book I have read from Chanse and each book is getting better and better. The story has you hooked from the beginning, this book has everything laughter, suspense and hot romance. All the characters are well blend together and you will fall in love with Ides and Vapor; the writing is easy to read. The funny part is the more you read about the germophobe the more you think about it.
Chanse Lowell is one of the slickest, most talented writers I have ever had the pleasure of reading! This original combination of genres, including sci-fi and erotica, has more twists and turns than a mountain road with its hairpin turns. I loved being surprised by its dizzying parade of characters and tittilated by the barrage of wonderfully arousing sexual antics. This story satisfied me on so many levels. Can't wait for more.
First I would like to thank Chance for the opportunity to read this amazing story; story full of romance, love, friendship, betrayal, loyalty, humor, in a few words "good plot", the main characters, Nick and Dena, two sweet hearts, who fought with everything they had to be together. This story is a " must read" one!!
What on earth did I just read??? I didn't under what was going on the majority if the time until it was explained after the fact. It seemed like there was just too much betrayal for there to be any love. Disappointing.
