The perfect preacher’s daughter, Verity Fairchild, has something that only she and God know about and she wants to keep it that way. A Perfect Mistake was a story full of Southern charm, undeniable attraction, and a secret that could shatter everything. This is the second installment featuring the Outlaw Brothers, or the “unholy trinity” of bad-boy hotness, and it did not disappoint!

Verity Fairchild, known as “Holy Mary Verity” the beautiful preacher’s daughter is back in Suttontown after a year, spending it supposedly on a mission in Kenya. She’s tried so hard to live up to the town and her father’s expectations of perfect, but she is far from that, and Boone Outlaw is at the center of her fall. Boone has been the star of all her romantic fantasies all through high school, but she hates him for what he did to her last summer. Still, she can’t help but fight the attraction that bubbles up every time she lays eyes on him. Doesn’t help that Boone’s working on a project at the church where Verity spends most of her days. No matter, she just needs to tough it out for the rest of the summer and then she’s gone pursuing her dreams as a fashion designer. However, being around Boone so much reveals a much different man than she’d hated in her heart, and now she questions her assumptions.

Boone has always had a thing for Verity, but being “Holy Mary Verity”, the preacher’s pristine daughter, he knew she was forbidden and he with his Outlaw reputation didn’t stand a chance.

She was smart and always had her hand up in class. Had always been prepared and organized. I wanted to muss her up half the time. Make her lose her focus. The other half, I wanted to touch her hair, breathe in her scent. Yeah, major crush on Verity.*

Yet, after a year away, Verity is back and sending death glares that could melt a man. And that just makes him even hotter for her, but still, Boone can’t imagine what he’s done to earn her scorn, but he plans on finding out!

I seriously loved A Perfect Mess, so I’ve been looking forward to Boone and Verity’s story. There was a serious thundercloud of drama lurking behind their story so I was anxious to get to the bottom of it. Verity and Boone have an undeniable attraction and chemistry, one that’s been brewing for a long time afar, so when these two finally give into their desires it’s smoking HOT!

While some of the secret is revealed and settled pretty early on, part of it lingers until almost the end making you anxious about how things will be resolved. It’s sad what happened, and I truly felt for Verity and Boone to be put in such a situation. I loved how Boone reacted to all of it, and the fact that Verity was quick to admit her mistakes made me like her instantly.

Just like the first book, there is some danger and suspense that lent some added excitement and gave my heart a scare or two! Also, like the first book we have the lush Louisiana bayou setting, and oodles of Southern charm. Perfect setting for a smoldering romance! I could just imagine Boone laying it on, calling Verity darlin’ or sugar with a sultry Southern accent! Yes, please!

I loved this installment and now I can’t wait for River Pearl and Brax’s story in A Perfect Dilemma!

4 Boone Swoon Stars!

Welcome to Suttontowne, home to the Outlaw brothers AKA the Unholy Trinity! The first book in "A Perfect Secret Series" began with Booker and Aubree's story in A Perfect Mess the second book A Perfect Mistake is Boone and Verity's story

I really love this series, it's fun and really cute! The brothers are triplets and smoking hot and absolutely hilarious! They live in a small town where everyone knows each others business and your family's past sins can still bite you in the ass, even though it's been decades (probably more).

This is my first Zoe Dawson read and I was all excited and then when I got into the book, I thought "What the heck," it was a lot toooo tamed for me. However, that's because I'm into more darker reads. So this took a lot of going back to my young un days of straight up fairy tale romance with a twist. Channeling this story into perception and to hit its objective was difficult. But it got done!

With that said. Let's get started.

I had a lot of fun with this book. Loads of Southern charm, sass and, whollie molliiieeee, swoon worthy Boone Outlaw. The man was a walking Givenchy Ad.

We're introduced to Verity Fairchild "Holy Mary Verity" the Preacher's daughter. She returns to Suttontown after spending a year away from home. Returning home is bitter sweet. As happy as she is to see her family, there is one person she can't seem to stop thinking of. Even with the year apart, her thoughts rise and fall, with Boone Outlaw. And he just seems to be everywhere she turns. Verity's had a crush on Boone from her high school days and nothing has changed. Boone is Forbidden Fruit. A bad boy with a bad reputation.

“That’s because I’m bad, Verity. Hadn’t you heard? Those bad, bad Outlaw bays. Trouble with a capital T.”

Boone Outlaw, a third of the Outlaw triplets, he's the Devil incarnate when it comes to Suttontown. A hard working, muscle rippling, sweat dripping, hawwtttt!!! Southern Devil. Smooth talker and a Verity whisperer. He's a sweetheart and a true Southern gentleman. Boone has always had a crush on Verity. She has always been the perfect little preacher's daughter.

She was smart and always had her hand up in class. Had always been prepared and organized.

Holy Mary Verity, who had been off limits in high school, and then disappeared right after graduation, was my fantasy fuck.

With this premise stated and the scene set, Boone and Verity start their tango. Skirting around each other, hooded glances, and passionately angry and painful words, Boone and Verity are tested on how far they would each go for the other. Fighting against family, and reputations, Verity makes her own choices this time.

"The last time we were together, we both didn't make that choice. Now that I know you better, I'm making that choice now.

I want you, Boone."

“I knew he was my downfall. He was what temptation looked like and breathed like, in a hard-muscled, shaggy-haired, blue-eyed devil kind of way…Yes, I was born and raised to resist temptation, but Boone Outlaw was my fall from grace.

Secrets are revealed, lives are shattered, Suttontown get's a holy shock, expectations are crushed and Verity gets a back bone. A family blossoms from A Perfect Mistake.

"I needed him. I'd always need him. He wasn't just my strength. He was everything that mattered."

Verity Fairchild is the preacher’s daughter and as such is held to very high expectations. However, Verity is human and makes mistakes like the rest of us.

Boone Outlaw is one of the Outlaw trio that have a bad reputation in Hope Parish. Boone has wanted Verity Fairchild for a really long time. But Boone had always made Verity off limits to himself and his two brothers.

Verity likes Boone and always has. She is deeply attracted to him. During the High School Graduation party something happened between Verity and Boone but only Verity remembers. And Verity holds it against him until she returns home from her mission in Kenya and realizes that Boone is innocent in the activity in which she holds him partially accountable.

Now that Verity is back and most of the truth is out between Boone and her she has another terrible secret that could cost her the man she loves and her family.

Billy Joe Freeman is sniffing around Verity and she wants nothing to do with him. But when Billy Joe uses violence to CLEANSE Verity of her sins Verity and Boone’s lives are in danger.

I am really glad I found this series and am really liking the characters in each story.

I can say, in all honesty, that I have fallen prey to the Boone swoon. That boy is potent, and utterly lethal to women. I loved this book! From beginning to end, this book had me captivated. Also, the ending made me cry happy tears. I can't wait to continue on to Brax and River Pearls story. I highly recommend. <3

A Perfect Mistake by Zoe Dawson
(Book #2: A Perfect Secret Series)
Source: Author
Rating: 5/5 stars

WoooooWeeeee!!!!!!! A Perfect Mistake, book two of Zoe Dawson’s A Perfect Secret series is absolutely better than the first installment and I LOVED that book!!! Here’s the low down:

Verity Fairchild’s (aka Holy Mary Verity) return to Suttontowne is meant to be as short as is humanly possible. She fully intends to declare her intentions to her parents and then walk away no matter their response. All she has to do is get through the summer with as few complications as possible and then she will finally be free to live her life on her terms and her terms alone. For time, all is going according to plan and Verity begins to feel as if she will make it through the summer and then Boone Outlaw walks right back into her life. How will she get through a summer when she is constantly forced to interact with a man she despises right down to her very core? Better yet, can she overcome her traitorous body’s desire to run straight into the arms of a man she hates?

Boone Outlaw is a changed man though his reputation around town would suggest otherwise. Once the most reckless of the Outlaw triplets, Boone has cleaned himself up and started a landscaping business. In an effort to improve his overall reputation, Boone has volunteered his company and his own resources to the local church. His revamping of the site’s landscaping is in full swing and though he is happy with the work, he is also completely confused. Every day Verity Fairchild watches Boone work yet any time she comes near him, he can see the anger toward him rolling right off her like a tidal wave. But for the love of everything holy, he can’t figure out why.

For more than a year, Verity has hated Boone and her hatred has been based on her conviction that Boone was the asshole who spiked her drink and then never once gave her a second thought after claiming her virginity. Then, there is Boone who has lusted after and been interested in Verity since high school and cannot recall a single encounter with her that would warrant such hatred. So, in typical Outlaw fashion, Boone forces the issue and finally gets Verity to explain herself and her actions. Though he has a nasty reputation, Boone would never, ever force or drug a woman to have sex with him!! After all, more than one girl (myself included!!) has fallen prey to the Boone Swoon – no force, no cajoling and certainly no drugs necessary 

Once all the cards are on the table, both Boone and Verity have to acknowledge that there is something between them and though a relationship might not be the best idea, they can’t seem to stay away from one another. For Boone, the decision is easy: he has harbored an interest in Verity for several years and now he has his chance to really get to know her. For Verity, the prospect of being with Boone and reassessing her opinion of him is far, far scarier. In order to completely and fully give herself to Boone, she has to risk everything and tell him the entire story of the night he took her virginity. Furthermore, she will have to face the wrath of her father, a man who has already driven her brother from their home because of his choices. Oh, and to make matters far, far worse for all involved, there is the crazy misguided guy who thinks Verity belongs to him, Boone’s brothers who keep reminding him (sometimes violently!) that the preacher’s daughter is off limits and, one fantastic bar fight! Certainly the relationship is worth all this drama, right?

The Bottom Line: I am hopelessly in love with Boone Outlaw and the A Perfect Secret series!! Dawson has created yet another well-written and completely engrossing story with beautifully relatable characters and a crazy and moderately suspenseful plot line. (That last part, so not a criticism!) Adding to the read are some seriously juicy naughty bits and visits and further developments from the other Outlaw boys. Yes, I was up until three a.m. with yet another Zoe Dawson novel. No. Regrets. The secrets, the drama, the naughty bits and three seriously hot boys, what’s not to love? If you are fan of light mystery/suspense, superior writing, HEAs and, triplets then I highly recommend this series to all 18+ readers.

P.S. In my mind, Boone Outlaw looks just like Hart of Dixie’s Wilson Bethel. Here’s the link to his IMDb page for your viewing pleasure: Wilson Bethel - My Boone Outlaw

WOW, the second book in this series was even better than the first if you can believe that.

I only recently discovered this author and I have to say I really love her books.

The story of Verity and Boone was great and I love how these book are about identical triplets....YUM!!!

This book was more emotional as the characters had to go through some pretty tough times in order to get their HEA...

I love how he smile would create the "Boone Swoon"...I could just picture it in my head.

I am so excited for the next one to come out as Braxton is going to be the most stubborn of these brothers for sure....

My Review

Four Fabulously Girly Stars

THERE WAS ANGST! There was passion, and secrets and heartbreak! I connected and I felt what these characters felt. I LOOVE Boone! Like seriously *swoon*

Wow. What a difference! I liked the first book in this series, A Perfect Mess, it was good, but I didn't connect with the story. That couldn't be more different from this. This book contained complicated and yet likeable main characters. Boone, one part of the Outlaw triplets was deep. He is known as the party-boy/ladies-man of the three, but there was a depth to the character that I didn't expect. And Verity, Holy Mary Verity, the preachers daughter was everything you would not expect from a preachers daughter. Both of these people have histories and dreams for the future that provide a separation from their pasts.

Unfortunately, the event that changed Verity's life forever involves Boone and he doesn't even know it. I had suspicions all along throughout the book about what the big reveal would be and in some ways I was right and in some ways I was wrong, but the reaction that the secret provided was more than I could have dreamed. I am not going to go into it because reading this book was so enjoyable that I want you to experience this for yourselves. This was a great second book in this series and I seriously cannot wait for book 3!

A Perfect Mistake by Zoe Dawson
A Perfect Secret Series Book 2
Verity Fairchild was always trying to be the perfect preacher's daughter. Problem is that no one can be perfect. After a very imperfect series of events that started at a party after her high school graduation, her life will never be the same. One summer back home to tell her parents a partial truth leads Verity down a whole new path.

Boone Outlaw is one of the unholy trinity. Triplets that have rocked their town just by being related to the Outlaws who came before them and added badness to the name. When these three guys were side by side, no girl was safe from swooning. And the only girl Boone ever wanted was off limits. Holy Mary Verity Fairchild, the preacher’s daughter. Didn't stop this bad boy from wanting her though.

When Verity finds out that everything she thought about Boone might not be true, she finds it tough to keep the hatred she's had for him the past year. She also has secrets nestled deep inside. Secrets she would never want her daddy to find out.

Will another Outlaw get locked into the bonds of love? Be sure to know the whole story by reading the first book, A Perfect Mess where Booker Outlaw meets his match. The third book will be for Braxton Outlaw; A Perfect Dilemma, he's one Outlaw that will do his best to dodge the noose.

You can tell Boone has some feeling for Verity, "she had on a lace bra beneath her wet shirt. The elusive design outlined against the white tank was unmistakable. Black lace. On the Preacher's daughter. Verity Fairchild like black lace. And I liked black lace on Verity Fairchild. It would be so good to take it off her. Eff me." These two as so hot and cold it's not funny but there is passion behind their coldness, "what is that? Are you actually sneering at me because I'm with someone? Last time I check, she wasn't slapping my face." Boone that boy gets himself into some interesting situations, "eff. My di** was so hard. Effing wood in front of Verity's mother. A freakin Preacher's wife, for chrissake." I mean Verity she also gets into some weird situations, "I felt her hand in my jeans pocket, and she made a grab for what she though was the bulge of my keys. "Not the keys," I said as she grabbed my di**. My still hard di**." Boone he likes to treat Verity like a lady and well Verity she... has a mind of her own when it comes to her horniess, "we're in my effing truck," he growled and moaned at the same time, pressing his mouth fiercely against mine every time I took it." And Boone he can be a jealous man when he needs to be, "he stiffened and frowned. "I effing don't like the sound of that. Who is this effer?!" As you can probably tell these Outlaw boys sure have a dirty mouth, but a dirty mouth is okay when they know how to put it to good use.

A Perfect Mistake is amazing! Thank goodness we get to see what happens with Boone and Verity. It was an underlying relationship in the making in A Perfect Mess. I can say again that the small town "parish" mentality continued throughout this book. I completely understand it!! Let's just say that being a preachers daughter (Verity) is not something I would wish upon anyone. The "perfect girl" possibly meeting her match with one of the "bad boy" triplets, is mouth dropping for sure! Again, the bad boys reputation has jeopardized so many friendships, so many chances, so many opportunities in the small parish. But Boone, Booker and Brax have done nothing but fight their way to the top. Showing everyone in Hope Parish, that they are not like their father. They are worthy of having a chance. But again, secrets, mystery, shallow small minded people, miscommunication, anger, and passion rock the banks of the Bayou again. This is another hands down incredible book by Zoe Dawson. I am looking for the preorder option of the third book in the series A Perfect Dilemma.

Another great story in this series. I so love Boone.

We met Boone and Verity in book one. This is their story. Boone like his brothers have fought hard to show the town they are not as bad as people think. Boone has fancied Verity for ages. She also fancied him until she thought he did something. Now she tries to keep him at a distance. Can these two sort things out??

This is a really brilliant story with fantastic characters. Loved it.

A Perfect Mistake is Book 2 in the Perfect Secret Series. See our review for Book 1, A Perfect Mess HERE

Story:

“He was…A perfect mistake. Our perfect mistake.”

A Perfect Mistake is book two in the Perfect Secret Series. It can be read as a standalone, however there are spoilers from the first book, so I still suggest reading the series in order if you are planning on reading more than just one.

A Perfect Mistake follows preacher’s daughter, Verity Fairchild, and bad boy, Boone Outlaw, as together they discover that sometimes, perfection isn’t so perfect, and breaking the rules can be the solution instead of the problem.

Verity Fairchild has grown up with the constant pressure of being the preacher’s daughter. She strives to be perfect and keep her “Good Girl” image, so that she can please her father, and keep the families good name. If left up to her father, she would marry a preacher and take over the family church, but the life her father has planned for her is everything that she is trying to escape. Verity has dreams outside the small Louisiana town she was raised in, and longs break free of the restrictive chains that have been placed around her, but she is too afraid of disappointing her family to ever act on anything she feels. Until one night, with the assistance of a little “outside help” her walls come crumbling down, and she breaks a big rule…Never get involved with an Outlaw.

Boone Outlaw is one of three Outlaw Triplets that together make up the “Unholy Trinity”. Plagued by their families past reputation, they have been labeled as the town “Bad Boys” and everything a girl like Verity should stay away from. But something about Boone calls to her, and she can can’t resist wanting to know him.

“I knew he was my downfall. He was what temptation looked like and breathed like, in a hard-muscled, shaggy-haired, blue-eyed devil kind of way…Yes, I was born and raised to resist temptation, but Boone Outlaw was my fall from grace.”

But she knows firsthand what happens when you give into temptation, and after making that mistake once with Boone and the end of the previous summer, she isn’t willing to make it again, especially since he doesn’t seem to care. So when she returns home for the summer, she is determined to stay as far away from Boone as she can. But he isn’t going to make it easy.

Verity isn’t the only one who felt a connection, Boone felt it too, and regardless of his brother’s warnings to stay away, he is determined to figure this girl out. In hopes of a chance to get closer to Verity while she is home, Boone takes on a landscaping job at the church. But his plans are quickly shut down when he notices that Verity is doing everything she can to avoid him and almost seems mad at him. What he can’t figure out is why. Especially when to his memory they haven’t had any sort of interaction. But he figures with a little push, and a little Boone Swoon, the truth might come out.

Regardless of how hard they try, neither of them can resist the other, and it doesn’t take long before the walls surrounding them start to crumble. They both discover that neither of them are who they appear to be on the outside. Verity isn’t so perfect, and Boone isn’t so bad. They both begin to fall, and it seems like there will be no stopping it. But they both have secrets locked inside, and as the truth comes out, the question is will it destroy them, or make them stronger.

Overall I really enjoyed this book. The storyline grabbed my attention, and kept me interested throughout. There were lots of twists and turns, and although some were more predictable than others, you weren’t really sure what was going to happen next. It was very refreshing to read a story about a good girl and a bad boy that didn’t follow the typical “love me and heal me” pattern! I also fell in love with both of the main characters, and unlike the first book, I didn’t feel like there was any lack in development of their individual characters. However, the development of their overall relationship was lacking a bit. I felt that the relationship was too focused on the physical, and left me craving more of the emotional side of things. The emotions that were there felt real, but it felt rushed and made it almost too “insta-love” feeling. I would have liked to see them grow more as a couple throughout the story, rather than have a physical relationship, that turned emotional at the very end.

The ending had some interesting twists and though Boone and Verity get their “Happily Ever After” I’m interested to see what is in store for the next, and final Outlaw brother and I will definitely be back for more.

Add A Perfect Dilemma (A Perfect Secret #3) to Goodreads A Perfect Dilemma

Boone Outlaw:

Much like Booker did in the first book, Boone stole my heart. And no offense to the first of the Outlaw trio, but the “Boone Swoon” gave brother number two a definite advantage when it came to picking favorites.

“That’s because I’m bad, Verity. Hadn’t you heard? Those bad, bad Outlaw bays. Trouble with a capital T.”

Boone was the perfect mix of sweet and swoon to make any girls heart melt. He wasn’t just a guy with a great body though, he had a huge heart! My favorite thing was the passion he showed towards everything and everyone he loved. Whether it was his girl, his brothers, or even the little boy who lost his dad, Boone had a place in his heart for them all. His character is proof that people can change if they really want to, and that it’s you who chooses your destiny, not your past or how people label you.

Boone has always been known as the “Wild One” of the trio, and in high school he definitely lived up to that reputation. He was a hard partier, who used drugs and alcohol to escape reality whenever he could. But after graduation, and a close call, he finds out that that life is taking him nowhere. He decides he is going to make a change, and after getting a little help, he becomes a better person.

But there is still one thing that even the “New Boone” can’t have. Verity Fairchild, the preacher’s daughter. In his eyes Verity is perfect, and that is exactly why he has to stay away. In his eyes he will never be good, or pure enough for her. Even in his dreams she eventually slips away.

“I shifted and groaned and tried to hold on to the sensations, but when something is forbidden, it always becomes like a dream that slips through your hands like smoke.”

But much like the forbidden fruit of Eden, Boone can’t help but want even a little taste. By offering to use his skill and landscape Verity’s fathers church Boone puts himself directly in the path of what he wants the most. His hope is that if he can’t actually have her, at least he can see her every day. But Verity has other plans, and it quickly becomes obvious that she is doing everything she can to avoid him. Boone can’t think of what he did to deserve the cold shoulder, but he makes it his new mission to find out. The bonus is that the more he interacts with her, the more her guard falls, and soon he finds himself in the arms of the one girl he never thought he could never have. Nothing can be easy though, and as the truths of the past, present, and future come out, he has to decide if he will forgive and move forward, or end the relationship that has just begun.

Verity Fairchild:

If Boone was my favorite character in the book, Verity easily came in a close second. Verity’s character starts off weak and afraid, not wanting to disturb the perfect image she has built up around her, in fear of upsetting her father. But as the story progresses you watch her blossom and develop into a strong heroine who is willing to stand up for herself and what she believes.

Many of her changes are centered around her relationship with Boone. Growing up she always had to be the perfect preacher’s daughter. In her mind as long as she did what her father wanted, maybe she would not get pushed aside. But that meant sacrificing her own desires, like wanting to know Boone Outlaw. When she slips up and makes a mistake that could change everything she fears what her father will think, and hides it all away.

“I had to be perfect. And, you were Boone Outlaw, the bad boy with a bad reputation that you didn’t deserve. But who can do that? Who can measure up to being perfect? Who would want to?”

As Boone exposes the truths and breaks down the walls she sees that she doesn’t have to be perfect to be loved. It’s that revelation that finally makes her able to stand up to her father and gives her the ability to follow her dreams. But there are some secrets that she fears may even chase Boone away. And now that she finally has him, she will do anything to keep from losing him again.

Supporting Characters:

The Outlaw Brothers:

Boone, Booker, and Braxton…The “Unholy Trinity”…and the triplets who stole my heart!

The bond that these three have is unbreakable. They are willing to back each other up regardless of the circumstance! (Even if it meant stepping foot in a church and risking the wrath of God. ;-)) They aren’t afraid to call each other out on their crap either…if one messes up the “Tripdar” is sure to alert the other two, and then watch out!

I loved the constant banter and antics of these three. Never a dull moment for the Outlaws! I just feel sorry for the three girls that have to deal with them...or maybe I just wish was one…

Aubree Walker and River Pearl:

Verity’s Best friends and the other brothers “girls” (or soon to be in River Pearl and Braxton’s case).

Aubree and River Pearl are Verity’s support system throughout the book. They provide the support, and push Verity needs when she exposes her secret. Aubree’s relationship with Booker also helps both help, and hinder Boone and Verity’s blossoming romance.

Nat's Rating: 3.5/5

Blush Rating: 3(/5) (Much more than the first and more detailed)

Verity Fairchild has lived her whole life with the stigma that comes along with being the preacher's daughter. She's also lived for years wishing she could be something else. She wants to be a fashion designer. She wants to let go. She wants to be free.

But someone threw a wrench into those plans. Boone Outlaw—one third of the unholy trinity; the town bad boys. The Outlaw triplets.

Verity is filled with anger and that anger is directed straight at Boone. A year ago, Boone did something unforgivable that resulted in astronomical consequences—consequences that he himself did not have to pay. Instead, Verity had to deal with it on her own.
Boone Outlaw ruined my life. There wasn't any way I was going to cut him any slack.
After a year in New York, Verity is ready to launch her fashion career and finally leave Suttontowne for good. She returns home to tell her preacher father her plans. What she doesn't know is that while she lets her fear hold her back, she is going to have her entire world turned upside down all over again.

Boone Outlaw has always had it bad for Verity. All through high school and even now. But Holy Mary Verity is forbidden fruit.

This makes working side-by-side with her on church renovations a special kind of torture. But Boone is a sucker for even being close to Verity. Only... he has no idea why she glares at him with hatred and disgust every time he turns around.

But he's determined to find out.

Because secrets always have a way of coming out.

A Perfect Mistake was a perfect book! It was everything I expected it to be and more. Zoe Dawson has this way of reeling you in and holding you there even well after you've finished the book. Sigh...

This is why you want to read this book/series:

Triplets. SEXY FRIGGIN' TRIPLETS
Laugh-out-loud brotherly banter
The term “huckleberry”
Frogging
Endearing southern drawl (yes, you can hear it loud and clear)
The beauty of the bayou
Steamy sex
A crazy-ass religious zealot
Bar fights
Shock and awe
Did I already mention hot, muscled triplets? Yeah. Gotta have those. Especially Boone. THE BOONE SWOON ♥

The Outlaw Triplets.

These guys are fangirl-worthy and panty-drop sexy. Not only do they melt my heart and heat my insides, but they also crack me the hell up. When more than one of them is in a scene, it's a damn riot! The brotherly banter is side-splittingly funny and so freaking adorable and endearing. The dynamic between them is something I haven't seen in the New Adult Genre yet, and I love it. I love them. I have this bittersweet feeling about the series. Two triplets down, just one more to go. Oh man, I never want it to end. Dearest Zoe, Can we clone them? Yeah... let's do that! ;)

At the mention of New Adult, I have to say that I am right up there with the folks who feel the genre is getting insane and out of control. I love the genre, but with massive hoards of books coming out within it each week, that makes it all the more difficult to find a really amazing story. They all start to look the same. And let's be honest... a lot of them kind of are the same. This is why I feel I have to shout it from the rooftops that Zoe Dawson has created a standout set of books. It's not one big thing—it's a dozen smaller things that make up this whole of greatness. The characters are livelier, the romance deeper, the plot line more interesting, the laughs more abundant. Everything about this book screams more to me.

It's clear from the beginning that Verity has a secret. It's clear that she believes Boone ruined her life. You expect a secret, but you will never expect the entire truth. Just as with the first book, Zoe blindsided me with a revelation. She pretty much knocked me on my ass! There I am, all content in my cozy reading chair, and WHAMMO! Secret unveiled! Now I have to wake up my poor poor husband so I can shout at someone about how I am so floored and so OMG surprised. ;) I wouldn't want to tell one of my bookish friends and spoil it, afterall! But let me just say this: you are going to need to pick your jaw up off the floor after reading this one.

If anyone has read my review of A Perfect Mess, you'll know how much I enjoyed the sex scenes. One reason for that is the fact that it was from the male's POV. This is one of the unique points I was talking about. I can honestly say, I can't remember even one other book where this was the case. I don't know about you, but I feel it's much more sexy to read from the guy's point of view. I love how raw an straightforward it makes things. I love the masculinity. Now, there are plenty of sexy times to see from Verity's POV as well, but my overall point is that the sex scenes are FANTASTIC. They're also perfectly spaced out and not overly done.

The romance is fast-paced, but I can tell you it works in this book. It's not insta-love, but it's insta-connection. Attraction, plus some. Verity and Boone have a whirlwind of a relationship. They are intense together. They don't do things half-assed. I really appreciated both of their journeys into self-awareness and into redemption. They each had thins to overcome and while on their own, couldn't quite seem to make it happen. Together? Done.

Needless to say, I definitely recommend this book. It was even better than the first, and I am still thinking about it well after finishing it. The characters are so well developed and so easy to connect with and love. The romance is sexy and very much passionate and intense. The plot is well written and definitely deeper and better thought out than a lot of other NA books. The Louisiana parish is the perfect setting. It's got a beauty about it and I really enjoyed the southern feel and the personality that came with it.

Trust me, this is a book you want to read. I recommend it 100%! Start with A Perfect Mess, then read this one (although this book could be read as a standalone). Now, Ms. Dawson, please bring on Braxton's story!

Book Review- A Perfect Mistake by Zoe Dawson

Verity is back for the summer with a big secret. Her anger at Boone drives her to keep it. So does her fear. Boone has always been viewed as a bad boy. He and his brother have quite the reputation. This story starts out with a complete miscommunication. Verity learns things aren’t what they seem. I like how Verity was wrong about Boone. She realizes that what people viewed him as is wrong just like her. They have more in common then she thought. The secret she holds is big. The reader learns part way through the story. It is shocking but you understand her fear and anger.
However once she learns more about Boone and what really happened, she lets her fear get the best of her for awhile. I lose a bit of respect for Verity in the middle of the book. She needs to stand up to her parents which she eventually does.
I like the storyline and the relationship between the brothers. They are a bit of bad boys but they have big hearts. I also like how the relationship between Verity and Boone develops. He has wanted her forever. When he gets her finally, he is the biggest sweetheart. The secret Verity has is extremely shocking but Boone understands which makes me like him even more. It was a great read. I give it a 4 out of 5.

I was not sure about this book in the beginning, it did not grab me like the first book in the series. Once again young adults are shaped by their parents and their unrealistic goals.
A town putting the sins of the past generations on the present outlaw Triplets has left many scars.
Boone and Verity have always had eyes for each other but her father the Preacher left her as the forbidden girl in High school.
Boone was the wild one drinking and doing drugs, but it was the Preacher’s daughter who took advantage of Boone with disastrous results.
Verity thinking Boone did not care made poor decisions affecting the future.
Boone realizing he was out of control gets help and becomes an upstanding business man not having a clue what has happened with Verity.
When these to come together there are fireworks, revenge, tears, a bug surprise and stay tuned fir the fire works

Charming and moving, Verity needing to find her inner streight to live her life the way she always dream. The only thing that I don't like at all is the hit by his back that Boone recived be cause it was the same as the one recived by his brother. He could be hit by a car when he was driving his motorcycle, or other injurie like this.

The title and blurb sounded interesting but unlike the high reviews, I could not finish this book.
Not sure which audience it was intended for, but the writing was childish. Lots of repetitions, immature characters who all happen to be gorgeous, and unrealistic events (having sex while having the flu??) made this a painful read.

Loved it

Boone and Verity's story was fantastic, was tearful and scary moments and misjudgments to work through. I love the storyline and of course the characters. On to the next Outlaw Brother once you start you can't stop.

Good

Pretty much the same formula as the first book. Little bit more drama and a lot more sexy time. The ending is sweet!

Not my usual type of story, but once I read the first chapter, I needed to keep reading to see what happened next. It was very good.
