I was given an ARC by the author for my honest review.

I really loved this book. It has a little bit of everything...laughs, angst, sexiness, suspense, a very determined handsome man, a very strong headed curvy female and everything in between.
We start with Ally's best friend Heather begging her to live a little and go with her to Miami for a charity fashion show that Heather is modeling in. Ally is hesitant as she is a conservative, homely type of woman. She is happy with the way her life is. That is until she decides to go to Florida with Heather and spots Jackson at the show. She doesn't understand why he is looking at her and not all of the 'pretty people' in the room. She is drawn to him like no other man before but she tries to brush it off. But he won't let her brush him off. "The Suit" as Ally calls him is determined to get her. After the show she decides to turn in early only to have Heather bring the party to their suite. After an argument with Heather, Ally assumes everyone left and she falls asleep. When she wakes the next morning she feels someone beside her. "The Suit"!!!
She still doesn't understand what he wants from her. Until he tells her...he wants her. Plain and simple. She is so confused yet determined to push him away because things like this just don't happen to her. Only it isn't very easy. Jackson is very much an alpha male. Mmm, so sexy too!!!
Jackson is the CEO of Woman's Pride Magazine and has an office in Atlanta where Ally and Heather live. He worms his way into her life. He likes that Ally has curves. He doesn't care for woman whom are too skinny and his reasoning is one of the secrets he keeps from Ally along with another. They ride the plane home together and he lets her know that they will see more of each other. Once back home he gets her to his office through the company she works for to redecorate his office and asks her to dinner. And the love affair blooms from there. Along the way there are secrets that they both hold. His may be a bit more damaging however. The entire time though Ally examines every bit of every thing and still tries to run from her destiny. And that is Jackson Bentley.
This is definitely a book I would recommend. It is a great first book from author Christa Lynn and I can't wait for the next one!

Awful. This book is simply terrible. It is littered with grammatical errors, inconsistencies in the narration, boring and useless descriptions, unrealistic dialogue, and a classic "Mary-Sue" main character. It is very obvious through the use of basic writing skills, sprinkled with "big words," that this is the author's first published work. The narration is hard to read; it feels like you are reading a blog, not a novel. The sentence structure is poor, and the book is filled with run on sentences as well as fragments.

I don't know about you, but I personally HATE novels where all the main character can talk about is how fat and unattractive she is, yet every man that meets her falls all over her and chases her to the ends of the earth. That is Ally Sanders. Lynn tries to make this character relatable with a personal writing style, as if she is talking directly to the reader. Some notable examples:

"[He] gently nudges me towards a door, that apparently opens in to this building. I know, I'm smart like that."

"I've never cried like this before. Well, maybe once when my grandma died, but this was different."

"I sounded silly, but hey. That's how I roll."

Another big issue I had with this book was how the author felt the need to describe Ally's decisions and character traits, instead of just building a character that we grow to know. J.K. Rowling never once says, "Harry is brave and determined." We learn that by reading the Harry Potter series. Now, obviously, Christa Lynn is nowhere near the league of Rowling, but you can create a character without having lines like "I am acting out of fear and frustration." That's a line from the book.

I read this book from the recommendation of a friend. Don't read it if you have the reading skills of fifth grade or above, because the predictable plot and horrible grammar will drive you insane.

Christa Lynn has written a great book. You will fall in love with Jackson from the beginning... He wants Ally and he pursues her with everything he has... and he has connections and is very wealthy. Oh yeah....so good looking he makes Ally's stomach do flips. The only thing Ally doesn't think she is good enough for him. She is not the model type like her best friend, so why would he want to spend any time with her.
This book has a little if everything.... Romance, suspense ( that will keep you on the edge of your seat) , love, all the things money can buy and Ally Nd Jackson's HEA!!!
No cliff hanger and will be a No.2 book. It will be good to see Ally and Jackson's story continue.
Thank you Christ Lynn for a wonderful first book. You have a gift!!!

Character(s): Alexandra Sanders (Ally) is a very loveable and identifiable character. At some point, we all struggle with self-esteem, but she demonstrates an amazing level of strength as she faces her fears head on. From fear of intimacy to fear of commitment and even fear of her life – Ally may walk away, but she returns stronger each time.

Heather – This character is very easy to imagine, as most all readers have either had a Heather for a bestie, or know someone just like her.

Jackson Bentley (The Suit) – Every ounce the Alpha, and a sure fire book boyfriend if ever there was one! His character has a nice balance of mystery and domineering personality – against deep vulnerability and sensitivity.

The Plot: Very well developed. The book has a nice forward flow with no long back story or excessive narrative blocks. The twist of Chase is both thrilling and surprising!

Voice: Ally stays true to character throughout the read, and has a nice arch as the story unfolds.

Overall: 5 stars all the way! By the end of this book, the reader feels like they truly know these characters, and can identify with them. Fast paced, well developed, and a nice mix of sarcasm and humor.

Christa Lynn's first novel is filled with intriguing and believable characters. True to life, some characters are agreeable while others not so affable. Christa takes you down a winding road as you follow the paths of the characters. Christa has the unique ability to take the reader's mind to one place, only to wind up in a place the reader least expected. Running from Destiny is a quick read, and it opens up how vulnerable human emotions really. Great job from Christa Lynn.

Christa Lynn one of my new favorite authors. Loved Ally, I feel like she's the average girl trying not to get hurt and laying low. Jackson knows what he wants and wont let go. Thanks for an Atl setting, I feel like I'm more connecting because I know the locale. It also makes me want to go on a search for Jackson :) Love, denial, mystery and fulfillment...Loved this book and can not wait for the next!

Good read.

This was a good read. It had a little of everything. Laugh out loud moments, moments that made you want to cry and moments that made you swoon. Sometimes the h got on my nerves with the running and the "I'm not good enough" comments. Yes, insecurities are real and hard to overcome....but sometimes you just have to believe. The H is super sexy and loves to be extra bossy! Will definitely read part 2!

Ally is a hard working full figured woman woman whose goal is to become a project manager. Confident in her field of work but very insecure in her personal life.
Alpha male Jackson has many deep dark secrets, present and past. Some are slowly surfacing putting Ally and her friend, Heather, in harms way.
I'm volunteering a review for an advance reader's copy.

This is the first book in a two book series. Aly is an admin assistant, with great aspirations for the future. While in Miami with her best friend she meets the sexy mysterious Jackson. These two are instantly attracted to each other, although Aly is convinced that she is not worth his attention, and Jackson is just as determined to get what he wants. The sex scenes between these two are hot.
This story has plenty of secrets and drama, and I for one did not expect the explosive ending. Great job Christa, you had me intrigued and captivated throughout!

A SOLID 4 STARS!

*Review copy gifted by author in exchange for an honest review*

In Running from Destiny we meet Alexandra (aka Ally) and Jackson (aka The Suit). Ally is extremely self-conscious about her weight and size, which is most likely made worse due to her model best friend, Heather, who, in Ally’s eyes, is perfection personified. Heather tells Ally she’s beautiful all the time, but Ally doesn’t believe her. Jackson is aggressive, persistent, and completely “alpha male”.

Jackson spots Ally in a Miami bar during a fashion show. Heather dragged the reluctant Ally with her to Miami in order to try to get Ally to loosen up and have some fun. Ally is really flustered and untrusting when Jackson pursues her in Miami. He turns downright stalker-ish when he catches the flight back to Atlanta with the girls. He refuses to accept “no”, and Ally is extremely stubborn. Jackson is gorgeous and she just can’t figure why he’d want a short, chubby girl when he had models draped over him in the bar. He only has eyes for her, but she is extremely resistant to his charms. He interferes with her job, which is annoying.

Through most of the book I wanted to slap them both. Ally is pigheaded to the extreme, and while I can understand her esteem issues (I’m a big girl myself), she really gave him a merry chase. Ally had been played and abused by men before, so I understand her reluctance to trust a gorgeous man like Jackson, but at some point she has to realize that he is serious. Jackson? He needed to realize that “no” means “no”. Seriously, I’d have slapped a restraining order on him. I’ve never read of such a relentless pursuit before. He would not give up! It’s sexy while he’s a billionaire, but if he were some trailer park guy it wouldn’t be so sexy, would it? Double standards... Anyways, they both could have used a few slaps.

Things happen in the book that I won’t divulge. You’ve got to read this for yourself! I will say that while I was happy with the ending, the book ended abruptly. I soon realized there is a sequel, but still, one minute there was dialogue and the next, the book was over. No epilogue, no “sneak peeks” at future books.

One thing I hated about the book was that Ally is a size 12 and that’s considered plus size. Way to kill my self esteem. That’s not the author’s fault, though. One thing I liked about the book is the author’s quirky, tongue-in-cheek writing style. Ally likes to joke around, and the tone of the book is pretty cute at first, before things get serious. I will admit that in one portion of the book, when Ally is heartbroken and thinks all is lost, I shed a tear or two for her. That’s the mark of a decent book. :)

Book One of the Destined Series

Damn, I really love this book! It is the first of two books in the Destined series by Christa Lynn and tells the story of Alexandra (Ally) Sanders and Jackson Bentley.

Ally is a slightly plump Administrative Assistant to the CFO of an interior design firm in Atlanta, with ambitions to one day become a Project Manager. And Jackson is a handsome mysterious man who she meets while in Miami with her best friend, and fashion model, Heather Langley.

Ally has very low self esteem, for reasons that soon become apparent, and she cannot imagine how a man who looks like Jackson could ever be attracted to her, but he is definitely pursuing Ally and seems to be very smitten by her. Ally discourages this attention, even though she is attracted to him as well. She is just sure all he is looking for is a roll in the hay, so to speak.

Jackson is not to be denied though, and determinedly goes after what he wants. Ally is put off somewhat by his domineering manner, but at the same time she is turned on by it. She is confused, and keeps running from him, to protect herself from being hurt again, which she is certain will eventually happen if she opens up to this man. The book is aptly titled, because it does seem that they are destined to be together, but a scared Ally keeps trying to run from it.

There are secrets to be discovered, and drama to be had before the book is over. The ending was especially explosive, and entirely unexpected.

I loved the way the book was written from Ally's perspective, but unlike other books written like this, I felt like I was really eavesdropping into her mind. Her insecurities, her sense of humor, her attraction, and fear, all felt like tangible things to me. Much of the book felt almost like it was written in a stream of consciousness way, what with Ally arguing with herself at times.

I really fell in love with both characters, and cannot wait to read the sequel, and final book in the Destined series, Accepting Destiny. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants a beautiful erotic story (by the way did I mention how the sex scenes are sizzling?) with a little drama, and a lot of humor thrown in.

Read this. You won't regret it.

I really liked this book. I'll tell you why. First, the main character Alexandra was a normal person, like normal girls. It was easy to identify with her physically, emotionally and mentally. When she took a weekend trip with her BFF, who happened to be the perfect description of what men from all over drooled over, she constantly kicked herself in the arse for putting herself in the position of beauty queen versus reality in Miami central. What was she thinking? When Jackson, the gorgeous, sexy "suit" approached her in the hotels bar, she ran for her life. Why would Mr. Wonderful gorgeous perfect man want to be talking to her when the place was filled with skinny, beautiful models. Through a series of events, Mr. Suit pursues Alexandra relentlessly. She experiences things with him she thought only happened in the books she read. Bound and determined to push him away before she gets hurt, she risks losing Jackson. The secrets that surround Jacksons life make a negative impact on the relationship he has with Ally and he wonders if he will ever be able to convince her he wants her just the way she is. Despite all of the challenges, Jackson convinces Ally he sees her as a beautiful woman inside and out. She's so desired, and valued more than what she feels she's worth. A real girls dream, but mixed with some interesting criminal activity. I am excited to see if these activities affect their relationship in the second book.

We gave the book 4 stars.

Thank you Carissa.

I was given an ARC by the author for my honest review.
This book reeled me in from the beginning, Ally's sarcastic and independent attitude had me relating to her from the start.
And of course, who can resist the sensual, controlling, mystery of Jackson Bentley. The characters in this book were funny, frustrating, loveable, and they were brought to life by the author.
I adored the positive view and message of this book altogether and it tells a story of not only one person with an insecurity but it brings to light a problem that society has needed to deal with for quite some time.

Ally and Jackson are a magnetic couple, who compliment and contrast each other in the best ways. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a read that will take them through a roller coaster of emotions.

This story takes the reader on the most amazing journey that I think all women travel!
As a 28 year old smart, witty, focused determined Administrative Assistant, Alexandra is certain that with hard work, she will accomplish a position with the degree that she has achieved. Her friend Heather, well...she is completely opposite. She is self centered, beautiful, tall, blond model in the fashion industry. Oh, did I mention that Alexandra is a voluptuous size 14?
Jackson - CEO of Womans Pride Magazine, Attorney, strong, sexy, controlling and surprise looming in the background.(It is an important surprise but might be a spoiler)
Alexandra is not quite sure why in the world this brilliant, successful, gorgeous man is toying with her and her emotions...Could her really want her? Could this be just another conquest? Another play toy? Why in the world would someone like him...want someone like her?
Yes, readers, plenty of sex, plenty of suspense and plenty of mouth dropping events! This is a book that will keep you up "ALL NIGHT" to finish. (Just as a warning...you can not put it down once you pick it up!)
Congratulations Christa Lynn on your novel! I can not wait for the next one!! Big Hugs!

I was given a copy of this book and in return I was asked for an honest review, so here it is

Jackson Bentley is an arrogant, bossy, aggravating & SEX ON A STICK kind of man!! And Alexandra is a woman who is strong, independent, caring but also very insecure about her body. And together these two are like a bomb getting ready to explode!
There were times while reading this book that I found myself laughing out loud at these two. Ally gets so frustrated with Jackson and vice versa. Poor Ally doesn't believe that someone could love her because of her weight. But Jackson finds her sexy and smart and he wants her. Ally's best friend Heather also believes that Ally deserves to feel sexy and wanted.
In this book you see how Jackson tries to win Ally over and it is not an easy task. But there is also other problems that occur. I don't know how to explain this book which is rare for me but I can say that I was on the edge of my seat while reading it and totally turned on! I would recommend this book to anyone. I love how the author brings the characters to life. I can't wait to read the second book!!! I want to see how Jackson and Ally's story ends!!!

This was a fun and entertaining book, that I really enjoyed reading!! Alexander (Ally) is funny, low self-esteem but believable person, and
you can't help but like her. Her BFF Heather (H)is opposite of Ally but is always pushing her to believe in herself more and take chances. Jackson is instantly taken with Ally and will not let her get away, when all Ally can think is run.. I didn't like how long Ally kept running from her feelings for Jackson, but after I finished reading this book, and thought if I was her, I could understand her doubt and wanting to keep her heart safe.
The mystery and action is a plus, was a nice twist in the story. The chemistry between Ally and Jackson is AWESOME, you can tell Jackson is so honest with his feelings, but I felt he should have been more forthcoming with his past to Ally.
This was such a great book, will draw you in from the very beginning. I recommend this GREAT book, a fun and entertaining book that will have you laughing, and some emotional packed moments.. For all the enjoys reading action, fun romance book!! For 18 and older!!

Enjoyed this book.

The main character, Ally, is not the typical female heroine in today's romance novels you read. She's not the thin waif of a girl that catches the eye of the dominant alpha male. She is the average girl with the average body with low self-esteem. Yet, she still manages to attract the eye of what we call the perfect "book boyfriend". Jackson (The Suit), the green-eyed hunk that only has eyes for Ally. He's rich, handsome, bossy, arrogant and full of secrets. Is he what he portrays or is he the guy that is just looking for love? Has he found it in Ally?

I hate to give away the story but trust me, it will leave you wanting to read more. The story was written with a down-to-earth feel; funny, sarcastic and relatable. I'm looking forward to reading book 2. Good job Christa Lynn!

Ally Sanders isn't your typical stick thin woman that tends to be written about in a lot of books she is BBW amd very insecure about her looks and body which i personally found refreshing to read.

She goes away with best friend who happens to be a model named Heather Langley. Its here she meets the mysterious Jackson Bentley.

Ally cant believe a man like Jackson would have the slightest bit of interest in a girl like her. But after much persuading from Jackson he goes for the girl he wants Ally.

There are aspects of Jackson that confuse Ally who leads to her keep running away from Jackson. But Jackson and Ally are destined to be together despite Ally's worryimh and the constant runnimng away.

Secrets will be discovered, drama and a unexpected sending whoch i never saw coming and left me wanting more and just for the hot sex scenes between the 2 of them

I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is a story about Ally (Alexandra). She is a young lady with her whole life ahead of her. She's a little guarded and is weary of men.
Her best friend takes her away for a weekend, enter Jackson Bentley, and she begins a journey of being swept off her feet (literally), he is persistent, strong and totally alpha.
I really enjoyed the book, but... I found it too close a storyline to other books out there, there are a few grammar, punctuation and spelling issues that need to be ironed out. Also, I didn't read anything original.
Overall, I did enjoy the read and completed the book. It has great potential to be a fantastic five star read if some minor changes were made.
I give this book four stars for a great effort.

I was lucky to be gifted this for my honest review, this story took me right into their world I totally switched off from my chaos and was hooked. The characters are brilliant and the storyline has you relating to the emotions of Ally and you get the humour which is great, the balance of every thing hits you because your mind stays truly focused to what is going on in the story. Ally is very self conscious about her weight and size and due to her ex and a very horrible date she swears off love, but her best friend is a model and persuades her to go to an event in Miami with her which is where she meets Jackson a true alpha male, sexy, gorgeous and unknown to her very wealthy. This is where to story takes off, you will want to slap them both but most of all you want them happy.

Ally is curvier than your average romance novel heroine. She is very self-conscious of that fact, especially since her best friend is a model. When a hot, rich man starts pursuing her, she can't figure out why. It freaks her out a bit and she tries to push him away. He won't let her. Then he leaves without explaining things and he has to convince her all over again.
Ally is a great character and there is plenty of drama. I am still a bit confused by the situation with Chase. Except for that small detail, I really enjoyed this book.

This would have been a solid 4.5 read but the errors were HORRIBLE!

#1 - tense - past or present. Say in one. Don't go back and forth in ONE sentence.

#2 - Grammar. PLEASE get it right.

#3 - Sentence structure - there were sentences in the book that were OBVIOUSLY not proof-read. i.e. - She gives the keys to herself. Really? How did that happen?

It was a long story and some things could have been edited out. I got frustrated with both the H/h.

Not sure I'm up for book 2 of his series. Don't know if I can deal with the errors.

Lovely romance with real grit

Love this story. Allie and Jackson are so different in their lives that some would never expect them to be together. At least that's what Allie thinks. Jackson may be pushy but he is determined to show Allie her true worth.

I love how this story shows that us normal girls can be loved, too. Skinny isn't always better and the author touches on just how much curvy girls have to teach others. Love the overall message of this story!
