Another satisfying addition to the fabulous ”Love slaves of the Alpha” series of Shannon West. This is unlike the other stories in the series because this is the very first story where one of the Balenescu brothers is not the alpha male in the relationship. 😁 But doesn’t that make the book more fun to read? 😉
Kyle, one of the last two Balenescu brothers who are still single. When his cousin Blayde propositioned him to help in arresting the notorious Tygerian slave trafficker, Tarr Bonnet, he had his doubts. He knew arresting the powerful Tygerian is not going to be easy. But Blayde insisted that he had a bulletproof plan and Kyle just need to play a charade to trap Tarr Bonnet. They are going to trick him into a private meeting, seize him with a tranquilizer and carry him to their ship and hand him off to Alliance authorities. Easy peasy. 😂 But when Kyle met with Tarr Bonnet to trick him into taking the bait, he ended up getting kidnapped and woke up naked in a cage, finding himself to become the love slave ”nobyo” of Tarr Bonnet’s identical twin, Taz.
Taz Bonnet hated lycans to guts. He is unlike his identical twin when it comes to business and he’s one of the powerful senators among Tygerian government officials. He was kidnapped and his ship was seized by the Alliance officers a few cycles ago and was imprisoned and tortured on the Lycanus planet for a while. The only reason he’s back to his usual life is because his twin took a risk and attacked the prison ship when the alliance officers moved him to a more permanent prison. And Taz is finished with lycans and ready to resume his life and settle down. And then his idiot of a brother had to present him a damn lycan as a nobyo for his birthday present. 😂 But as much as he hated lycans, the moment he saw Kyle, Taz became the prisoner of his heart again. 😍
As soon as Kyle saw Taz, he knew that handsome, gorgeous and strong Tygerian is his true mate. And as much as wanted to become Taz’s lover and stay with him forever, he needed to let his family know that he’s ok and they don’t need to rescue him back to his home planet. But Taz is stubborn and unyielding when it comes to Kyle’s family and lycans. He said he’s the only family Kyle’s going to need from now on and he could forget about his old life. Kyle couldn’t agree more but still he needed to let his equally stubborn cousins to know that he’s happy on Tygeria and Taz is his fated mate. And there’s the battle of dominance. 😁 As much as he loves Taz and knew that he’s his true mate, Lycan males never bend for others. 😏 To become the love slave of the most hated enemy, a Tygerian, is just unthinkable. 😱 Can they overcome all their differences and find a HEA in the end?
I don’t need to say it again and again and again. 😁 Shannon West is always spot on when it comes to smut and banters. My! The sex was hot! 🔥 Loved it! 😍 And since I read “The mates of Tyger prince” series first, it’s really nice to reminisce all connections between these two series. The story is fun and interesting, the smut was explosive and the MCs are just so right for each other. Loved it, enjoyed it. 😘 And especially, the dialogues from this book is just so beautiful. 💙 I don’t want this series to end and I hope Shannon will give us more in the future.

DNF-ing at 50%.
Bored out of my wits.
Despite all of my exciting tags, this book is a fraud. "honeys", "sweethears", "babies" and other tooth-aching sugary nicknames applied to a mansel-in-distress-alpha-male are, indeed, revolting.
Characters are weak and, frankly, stupid. Conversations are stilted. Neither Taz nor Kyle are listening to each other, just carrying on with their own meaningless blubber. The writing is immature, the plot is almost non-existent. The whole book, quite honestly, can be squeezed into a dozen pages or less, considering that the majority of it is useless boring infodump.
Kyle, a Lycan, and his buddy (relative? I don't give a rat's ass) decide to kidnap a big powerful tiger shifter from a bar that he owns. They come up with a stupidest plan... wait... what am I saying? They HAVE NO PLAN! Kid you not, true story!
Anyway, they come up with some stupid excuse. Kyle goes in and never comes out. The big bad tiger kidnaps Kyle, puts him in a dog cage and delivers him to his brother Taz, who hates the hell out of Lycans (make no mistake, Lycans loath Tygerians right frigging back), but needs a lover and a nanny!!!!! for his children. Perfect. Those two are all set. Happy end!

You know, they make it sound horrible and dire and something they have to endure because they have to. What a horrible attitude to take towards love. I can't tell if I hate it or like it. On one hand, it seems like they become mindless and slavish after "succumbing to the vile effects of this horrid curse," but on the other...well...it is love, isn't it? I'm suddenly not so sure. Maybe it's just extreme infatuation and this "soulmate" business is something they tell themselves so they feel marginally less shitty about it all when actually, it's an extremelly shitty thing and none of them quite believe it.
I get why the story's told over and over and over through the series, but it gets boring. And highly repetitive. Feels like there's a fair bit of copy+pasting going on in those sections.
You know what? Maybe it's not love. I've been making assumptions all this series, but what if it's all just complex Stockholm and Lima?
...Wow...it all seems so highly dysfunctional. All that bull-crap about submission not being a sign of weakness but of trust... So he's not forcing Kyle to submit to him. He's forcing him to - against his will - "trust" him. And poor little Kyle doesn't get that. oh, dear. And their religion scares me. They have such vengeful gods. Vengeful, jealous gods.
Stupid Kyle is being coerced and even when Taz lampshaded it, poor little Kyle didn't realize.
I actually think Nikolai and Jagger might be the only ones who have a semi-okay relationship. Nikolai seemed like the only not-that-big-a-jackass.
Oh, God. This is horrible.
And the way Taz treats Kyle...I mean, I get that no one is perfect, but calling him a whore? Really? I'm suffering from so much incredulity reading this. It made the sex really uncomfortable. I couldn't read it. I mean, I don't normally read sex scenes since they tend to be boring and repetitive, but this made my uncomfortable even thinking of the idea of them having sex. It's like bunches of stupid power plays and weird-ass need for power...They whole-heartedly believe in the "if you love me, you'd do anything for me" idea. There's no "I'll do anything for you." It's "I'll do anything for you...as long as it benefits me more than it does you."
I don't even know how they concluded everything because it became so dissonant that none of the last part made sense. How did they reconcile? All I see is sex, and then cut to Epilogue.
Which was the awkward and equally discomforting thing.

Now that is more like it. The last two in this series have been very spot on for me. I really felt like I knew the guys pretty well but there were still some surprises. There was compromise and real issues they had to figure out. The action was excellent and contributed to the plot and the characters. The sex was hot - and though not dissimilar to the other books it seemed like this had not as much of it. Not sure if I was just more invested in the story. I am not sure if this is the end but I'd love to re visit the Lycan world again to catch up on my favorites!

I really don't know how I feel about this book. I liked that Shannon West used the Tygarian species from a previously released book. But the actual relationship between Taz and Kyle never felt GOOD or RIGHT ya know? Even up to the very end it felt like they were forcing something that wasn't there. I like it when the couple compromises in order to be together but I didn't see much of that from Taz.

Knowing I’m not a big fan of Si-Fi and after reading the last book in this series and this one I am now converted.
I am hooked on this series I love the world Shannon has created around these hot sexy men and this story didn’t disappoint.
The sex scenes are HAWT smoking hot and when these guys mate hell they mate. I loved Kyle he loves his family and after being kidnapped he wanted to let them know he was ok and he fought Taz all the way on that. He even fights Taz for the chance to let his family know he is fine and has found his mate.
I enjoy a good fight scene and I get right in there with them and find myself shouting at my Kindle wanting Kyle to beat Taz. Taz is very much the Dominant and has to have things his way but he wasn’t going to get that with Kyle. And I enjoyed reading the struggles these two had accepting each other but oh boy I enjoy them more coming together(pun intended.)
We do get a little look at Larsson and Tarr and I can’t wait for their story I got a feeling this one is going to be even more fun to read.

While on a mission to capture a bounty, Kyle is captured to become the love slave and caretaker for his new masters baby that’s on the way. The large Tygerian male, Taz is instantly attracted to Kyle and is happy to bond with the Lycan male, but first but teach him to be submissive.
The author has created a science fiction world that has lots of hot, sexy males, romance, steamy sex and adventure. The captivating characters draw the readers deeper into this erotic world ensuring that they want to know more. The romance and chemistry between the two males is scorching hot with well written sex scenes. This book has a hot battle scene and family members with good intentions. I am looking forward to reading more in this series. The only problem I had with this story is that it is too short.

Book 5 of Love Slaves of the Alphas has lots going for it. Kidnapping, drugs, restraints and a Lycan with a mate he can't claim. Kyle is forced into the position of a love slave, his wolf drugged into submission. He needs his wolf to be able to claim his mate and he becomes weak and sick when it is suppressed. Taz (a Tygerian) wants Kyle but is not prepared to submit to a Lycan after being captured a couple of years earlier.
I loved how Shannon West dealt with this story.

So silly and frothy, but who wants a heavy soufflé. Entertaining, quick read. No need to try to make sense out of it, just relax and go along for the ride.
