Lady Caroline, widowed with her son by her side is devastated when she is forcefully wed to the king’s man known as The Beast. She’d survived one loveless marriage, she could survive another. But it would be hard to do when the scarred man holds her heart from first sight.
The lovely widow’s kiss tore his unforgiving soul asunder...
England has been conquered and Darc Renald agrees to go on one last quest with his king to crush usurpers. The last thing he expects is to find himself wed and saddled with the chestnut- haired widow and her young son.
Another Great addition to "The Northern Knights".. Ms. Dane makes sure to weave a little of everything I love into her stories and she will continue to be on my auto buy list. Darc's story did not disappoint and I can only wish they'll me more to come!
I enjoyed reading this book. My only problem is that I read it first because it's the last book in the series. Now I have to go and read books one and two and praying that I remember everything that happened in the book. The story is mainly about learning to trust and love people because of things that happened in the past. It is a wonderful story and I can't wait until I read the other two books plus the book that comes after this one which I guess I should read next because it says to read it right after this book but I will go and read the other two books first.
excellent book. Messed up man makes repeated mistakes when dealing with well intentioned woman who is nothing like the original woman who messed him up.
Multiple 'what have i done' moments.
awesome in depth storytelling. Amber really excels at this. I really hope for more from her. She will be an auto buy for me.
Never ever has a book exhausted me as much. I can't tell if that's good or bad. I could feel every slight and insult and heartbreak of our poor heroine. Darc was a complete mental case of an asshole! But I love him! See, what this book did to me? gahhd. will rewrite this review later after sufficient repast for my bruised emotional state.
I think the author was tired of this series when she wrote this. The hero is a winey creep until he’s not anymore. There just is nothing to sink your teeth into in this book.
Okay but seriously... I did not really like this one all that much. Story was okay I guess. I don't even know how its possible that the errors in this book were worse than the first two combined. Spelling mistakes everywhere. Little use of the ' in words like "won't". Using "wont" instead of want and other words. Words doubled or switched around. It threw me off so many times I couldn't stand trying to read it anymore. It made my eyes and brain hurt. On top of all that I really really REALLY REEEEAAAALLLLLLLYYY disliked all the repetition AND Darc's attitude through the whole book. Like I get it. Horrible past. NO. No excuse. I can't. I can't with his character. Never have I wanted to strangle the life from a character in a book as bad as I had with him. Idgaf how he changed in the end. NO FORGIVENESS. NO. NONONONONONO. I hate his character. She did not deserve any of the pain that was dealt to her by him. Not an ounce of it. I really can't get past how much I hated his character even after the end of the book I still can't stand him. Don't care. Damn lucky I even gave this book two stars. I rage quit this book so many times it's not even funny and I feel 2 stars is being overly generous but I liked Caroline and her son. That's basically it. That's all I liked about it. So glad to be done with it. I'm gonna read some manga and chill out before talking about this book and my hate for Darc gives me more of a headache.
