רומן גרפי מפורסם. רב מג כולא את מורפיאוס שליט החלומות למשך עשרות שנים ולכן עולם החלומות והשינה מתחיל להתפורר. כשמורפיאוס משתחרר הוא צריך להשתלט חזרה על יכולותיו ועל ממלכתו.

כמעט לא מתרגמים רומנים גרפיים לעברית כך שמעניין לקרוא את הרומן המפורסם והייחודי הזה של גיימן. למרבה הצער רוב הסדרה לא תורגמה.

I try and I try but I just dont get comix. Or graphic novels or wahtever.
I think this could easily have been a 4-5 stars if Neil would have written it like any errr... textual book, for lack of a better term. I dont get it. I need be told whats going on, what are they feeling. I am so bad at telling facial expressions on drawn charachters.

Also, I want to plisten to the Cure right now.

Jeg har længe gerne villet træde ind i Gaimans Sandman univers, men starten på den her var desværre ikke ligeså god som jeg havde forventet af en Gaiman bog, derfor får den kun 3 stjerner. Ville dog fortsætte med tegneserien, da jeg har på fornemmelsen at den bliver bedre :)

אהבתי את הרעיון, את האימה וחוסר האונים של הדמות הראשית, במיוחד כשהיא
נאלצת להיות כלואה לאורך הרבה מאוד שנים.

ובכל זאת, הרבה יותר נוח לי לקורא ספרות מילולית ולא מאוירת. החוויה והחיבור שלי,
בתור קורא, לדמויות מורגש ועמוק יותר כשמתארים לי את מה שהדמות חווה ומרגישה
לאורך התפתחות העלילה מאשר, כשמציגים אותו באמצעות איורים ותמונות.

קראתי את זה מזמן. כשיצא התרגום לעברית. לא זכרתי כלום. ראיתי את הסדרה שלכשעצמה היא בינונית. חזרתי לקרוא את הקומיקס והוא יותר גרוע מהסדרה. לא בטוח שזה רק התרגום אשם.
הכי מצחיק לקרוא את ההקדמה של עורכת הסדרה. כמה שהיא עפה על עצמה ועל הקומיקס.
באמת יש החושבים שזה הקומיקס הכי טוב? תמהתני.
לא אפרט מעבר לשאת. קראו בעצמכם ותסבלו.

So. I read it years ago and I didn't like it. I knew exactly why: I hated the colors and it blocked any pleasure I could have took from interesting concepts and Gaiman's dialogues. As a person who didn't read comics at all at that time, I just couldn't overcome my esthetic distaste to enjoy the story.
Now, three years after of my change of heart in the comic books area, I am finally able to appreciate the narrative aspects and intelligent use of culture tropes in this comic. And the art (but not the colors, oh no).
I appreciated especially the second half.

I'm one of those people who belive that there's a very thin line between madness and being a genuius. For the first half of this book I was really confused but towards the end it got a little better. The illustrations are great and colorful, yet horrorfying. I still believe that Gaiman used some sort of creational drug whilst writing this book. I will proceed with the next book I think but with mixed feelings.

כאשר אני קוראת רומן גרפי, אני מצפה להנות לא רק מהטקסט, אלא גם מהאיור. הצביעה של הציורים הייתה כל כך כהה ומונוטונית, שהיא הקשתה עלי להתעמק בציורים, ולמצוא את המשמעויות בהם, וחבל. נראה שהשקיעו בציור הרבה מחשבה, והיו פרטים שיכלו לתת עוד עומק ותוכן.
מבחינת הסיפור, יש חלקים מבריקים, כמו שמצופה מניל גיימן (אהובי). מבחינתי, נקודת האור של הספר הייתה הביקור בגיהנום והעימות של סנדמן עם השד.

This book was an amazing adventure. Remarkably imaginative. I did not like the (necessary by contract) appearance of the DC world, and some of the scenes were a little too... brutal? But, by and large, I loved the story.

Avevo aspettative altissime in parte deluse. Certo, la scrittura di Gaiman è sempre meravigliosa anche quando si tratta di fumetti, ma ho trovato la trama confusa e i disegni caotici non aiutano. Voglio comunque continuare a leggere la saga e vedere cosa succede.
