FUBAR!

Damn, this was f'ed up! No other way to describe it. If I had to sum up, I'd say that this was a cross between the movies Misery and Fatal Attraction .

I have no idea how screwed up people find each other, but they always seem to, don't they? But, this book was disturbing beyond what I'm used to. And that exactly what drew me to it. LOL

I just couldn't stop reading because I had a lot of trouble believing what I was reading. It was certainly an eye opener. And then if it couldn't get more screwed up, the ending just about made my head explode. LMAO, I didn't see it coming at all. It seemed so normal, but not. You'd have to read it to understand what I mean.

This was a new experience for me as I've never read anything by Emma Clark before, but her mind is so dark, I'm going to have to do some more exploring for sure.

New/young adult contemporary.
This short-story basically reads like a fan fiction of a teen reality television show. The main character, Samantha, had no redeeming qualities good or bad. Basically she came across as a self-absorbed annoying spoiled brat. This character is the reason why I disliked the book.

Non-erotic erotica.
The few sex scenes were cold and very brief. There was nothing erotic about them to me. Not enough build-up and the sex scenes were over way too fast.

Dark.
And this is why the book is getting two stars instead of one. There was a point in the book where I thought Samantha would go , but she did not. I thought this could have been a lot darker. It walked the edge of non-dark, but it was dark in the not a feel good story type of way.

Overall

This book was just not for me. I would recommend this to the younger generation if it didn't glorify stupidity.

I won a free copy of this book through the Erotic Enchants group on Goodreads. A review was not required or requested.

Read this quickly before going to bed last night. Read a bit like a diary of a young teenager who hasn't grown up yet and expects the world to fall at her feet without any effort from herself. Written entirely from her pov it reads just like how a shallow teenager would think and see life. The outcome was quite a surprise and seemed a bit unbelievable, but stranger things happen in reality.
Liked it however and definitely worth reading.

Emma Clark has a dark and twisted mind that creates these dark and twisted books. It's fascinating to watch! You end up with these stories that make you sit up and say WTH?

Sam is young lady that seriously needs to grow up. Everything is someone else's fault. She's not responsible for anything that happens to her. Sound familiar?

Chase is a self-centered asshole. No way around that one.

Put these two together and watch the fireworks go off.

They're both unstable, unhinged and it's a train wreck. (The relationship!)

Emma wrote this in a way that you have to keep reading. You have to know how it ends! You have see it to the bitter conclusion.

I can't help but wonder what happens next. Will they finally destroy each other or will they finally grow up?

Ever wonder what goes through a woman’s mind when she feels used, betrayed and her life is turned upside down. Here it is and wow how the author brings out in this character the things many woman wish they could have done yet knowing the outcome would have been so different. This was a new form of reading for me but it kept me on my toes and I felt I had once been this woman. Very personal and very strong.

I won this book from Erotic Enchants Goodreads group and i have to say i am so damn happy i won it.

it has been really a very long time since i have been so thrilled over a book like this.

Intresting and sexy and bordering between insanity and phsycosis the book is actually a road over betrayal, how a woman can feel when she is used, how she uses and abuses and so much more.

At the beginning i have to say i wasn't so sure what i was reading but as the pages went i was sucked into an amazing story with many twits and turns sex and violence.

A book i really enjoyed!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a short, fast paced story of revenge and the forgiving of a wrong. I can not believe how much the author packed into 90 pages and so vividly. This author packed so much into her novellas. I have read two of her other works, Teaching Melody and The Troll: Part One. Just like with those she leaves me wanting more. Can't wait to read more of her work.

I received this story as a prize from the Erotic Enchants Goodreads group. It was a well written novella of vengeance, loss and love. It is a somewhat dark read about a young girl who is used by a one night stand. She becomes pregnant following their liaison and becomes obsessed with vengeance. It is a quick, enjoyable read however unrealistic.

What the fuck did I just read?

Here I was, being the sweet innocent little boy that I am, hoping for some so-bad-that-it's-good chick lit, with some hilariously bad sex writing. But instead, this book was just all manners of fucked. I'm fine with twisted scenarios, I'm fine with people doing heinous unforgivable things, but when it's done so arbitrarily, you start to strongly suspect that author has some warped sense of reality.

I'm spoiling this book here but I don't even care. This book is about some psycho girl named Sam. Sam meets this really hot guy at a bar ("I wanted to lick and suck him from mouth to cock"), and they have sex without protection ("he came in mini explosions that quaked my pussy") and I was like "LAWD HAVE MERCY".

Then it turns out this hottie is married ("Shit. I forgot to call my wife."), and never contacts Sam again. Then Sam finds out that she's pregnant. She gets fired for sucking at her waitress job, and she gets PISSED so she goes Godzilla on the restaurant and engages in some casual vandalism ().

Sam then teams up with her best friend Allison, and finds out who this random Hot Guy who knocked her up is. Turns out his name is Chase. She sends him a lovely sensitive email ("Hi. Remember me? I'm the drunk lady you drove home a few months ago. Well CONGRATULATIONS, CHASE! YOU'RE GOING TO BE A DADDY!"), then they go and key his car, and then break into his house. They dick around for a bit and make interesting inferences about Chase and his wife (“Apparently Chase's wife had also decorated the interior, because no self-respecting guy would choose mauve walls and furniture.”) but then Chase and his wife comes home so Sam and Allison flee the scene, but Sam accidentally leaves her phone behind. Allison decides to return to the house, but gets shot in the stomach by the wife ("They said it was self-defense"). Then, Chase shows up at Sam's place and says that his wife can't conceive so if Sam will give them the baby, they promise they won't press charges for breaking into their house and keying his car. Well, more fool for Chase, because Sam is a Strong Independent Woman, and she will not be intimated by any man. So she gives him a drink laced with sleeping pills, which knocks him out.

When Chase wakes up, he finds that he is tied to a bed with ropes like in one of those BDSM Fifty Shades of Grey scenes. Except this time, there's no safe word. Sam is not happy that her friend has been shot and is now fighting for her life at a hospital, and she starts to think of ways to torment him. The language that Sam used was quite interesting, she kept saying things like: "That night, I devised a new plan." I remember thinking to myself: "Why does she talk as though having batshit psycho ideas requires some kind of intellectual effort?" In any case, one day, she's frankly pissed that Allison's health is deteriorating, and decides to take a knife out and threatens to castrate Chase. Chase is less than effusive about this (“Please don't fucking do this. I'll do anything you want, just leave my dick alone."), and pleads. Sam relents, but still wants to punish him so she decides to use the knife to cut zig-zags into his thighs, creating a lot of blood.

The day after (or maybe it was longer, idc), Sam finds out that Allison is dead. Sam is PISSED and vows revenge on Chase's wife. However, when she gets back to the house, she finds that Chase has managed to free himself from the ropes. And he has a knife. Presumably the knife that Sam used to julienne his thighs with and had carelessly left within his reach.

Dun Dun DUNNN.

And they both fight. Sam scratches his cheek. Chase gets pissed and almost slits Sam's throat, but Sam gives an impromptu speech about their child filled with dramatic inflections (“Please, Chase. If I die, our baby dies. Don't forget he's inside me. Living. You know he doesn't deserve to die.”). Chase relents. Sam bursts into tears, and they both cuddle. Then they sorta agree to date, with Chase promising to leave his wife. And then they bone and Sam just cannot get over how GOD-LIKE Chase's cock is (“His cock pounded, hurt, chafed my sensitive inner flesh. I'd never experienced this level of sexual intensity—this incredible, overwhelming rush of heightened sensation or this primitive animalistic sex that punished and forced my clit to erupt in spasms.”). And then they continue dating, and grow closer (not without Sam sending her friends to spy on Chase to make sure that he is indeed leaving his wife and not cheating on her). And then she gives birth. Sam feels so blissfully content and she feels like she's learnt a lot of profound things about how the universe works (“Sometimes it takes a major traumatic event to change someone's evil ways.”). And then, they both get married.

And I'm like, what the fuck did I just read?

Samantha "Sam" recently broke up with her boyfriend Caleb and she's looking to have a bit of fun with her best friend Allison. Allison takes Sam to hot club called Sin for a night on the town. Sam promises herself that she won't get drunk like that's going to happen. Sam watches a hot guy in mask dance his way into Sam's libido. Chase Richardson aka Dancer offers to drive Sam home one thing leads to another and they have sex. Sam is having trouble doing her job as waitress lately but she can't figure out why until Allison suggests a pregnancy test. Sam's whole world comes crashing down around her with diagnosis of pregnancy. Will Sam take control of her life? Will Chase enter the picture again? Your answers await you in Dancer.

The consequences of drunken revelry lead Sam into downward spiral. As Sam struggles to cope with her situation and trying to do right by her unborn child. I thought the author did an excellent job of showcasing characters and story. I would definitely read more of this author's work in the future.

This was a quick read that I really enjoyed. Seeking revenge can make people do some fucked up things- some of the things Sam did actually made me smile. I wasn't to keen on the ending of the story, I thought Sam and Chase were a little too forgiving of each other (especially from Chase's pov).

A dark, twisted short story that tells a tale of how consuming revenge can be. It was a very enjoyable book. I really like Emma Clark's writing!!
