Kidnapping Isame would set them free…

Isame wanted freedom: the freedom to travel, the freedom to explore, but most of all, the freedom to choose the life she wanted over the life—and the husband—her parents had chosen for her. But when Isame leaves home to accept another man’s proposal, she happens across five fierce, handsome warriors. She wonders why they’ve travelled so far from home, but she never imagines their purpose might have something to do with her. Not even after they kidnap her.

Remmie is a man of honor and fierce loyalty. So when his king commands him to find a specific young woman on the island of Copaxa, he’s prepared to obey. But he’s not prepared for the woman to change everything. Isame is special. He can see it from the start. But how can one puny woman make him question everything he’s always known, including the rightness of doing what he’s promised?

A spellbinding series that will enchant and dazzle!

As a fan of all things Fae and YA/ Fantasy I was struck by this beautiful book, and fairytale that captures the heart. Having read other series such as ‘Wicked lovely’ I was eager to discover something fresh and different. This mature New Adult/ Young Adult story was packed with exciting action and thrilling drama, which had me sat on the edge of my seat in suspense throughout. Anyone seeking an adventure of a lifetime with an exquisite, magical backdrop will find this an enchanting and utterly magnetic story.

BY FORCE {Book1} follows Isame who wants to follow her dreams and discover new things, without being tied-down by marrying just yet. When she is unexpectedly kidnapped and forced to leave everything behind her, journeying into the dark and dangerous unknown; Isame is made to marry despite her objections. In order to survive she endures physical and emotional assaults…with a captive/ kidnapper Remmie observing in the shadows.
Isame must then decide whether to return to her family or remain with her captor…

An outstanding first instalment within what I predict will be a bestselling series, which combines heartrending poignancy with sincerity and depth for an illuminating read. I was touched by the relationship and intimate connection {spark!} between Isame and her warrior captor, and so I eagerly read on as their relationship developed. Sara Hubbard is an incredibly accomplished writer who with such effortless ease pulls you into the story, with her empathetic characters that are so likable and convincing. I was hooked after the first page…drawn into the most darkly delicious tale full of atmospheric ambience and convincing imaginative concepts that made it come to life!

I now cannot wait to delve into book 2 of the Forever Fae series (by choice), and I highly recommend this brilliant book that will not disappoint!! I would like to thank the author for providing me with an e-copy of her book to read and review. If I could give this a rating higher than 5 stars I would.

I loved this story, can't wait for more! This story has adventure, suspense, and swoon worthy guys.So are guys are total bad boys,no seriously the are bad but you might be able to melt their cold hearts if you tried hard enough. They are savages tasked with the orders to bring Isame back to the King. Isame wanted to travel and have adventure but not quite in this manor. She will have to make the most of it while she bides her time until she can escape.Unexpected circumstances throw a wrench in their plans and they must adjust to compensate but that may be more difficult than they know and more than they bargained for.

Captor/Captive Romance - Super Start to a New Adult Fantasy Series

By Force is the first book in Sara Hubbard’s new series, Forever Fae. In it the heroine is taken as captive by not one but five hunky male warriors!!! This has got to be one of my top fantasies – assuming there is plenty of romance to compensate for the drama and the angst of being kidnapped. In this Sara Hubbard does not disappoint! There is also non-stop action, adventure and suspense and an introduction to a fascinating medieval type world, which contains magic and strange creatures…….

By Force is a well written and entertaining fantasy romance, full of believable characters, many of whom I quickly grew to love! It is set in a fascinating world full of surprises and plenty of action as Isame and her captors travel across land, mountains and sea. Her kidnappers, five hunky warriors from Optavia, called ’Savages’ by her people, due to their size and appearance, not to mention their behaviour, are out to do a job, kidnap Isame and deliver her to their king.

The heroine’s relationship with the warriors is a complex one. At first they want little to do with their captive and her with them and they do treat her rather poorly. However, slowly they begin to interact and get to know, like and respect each other and there is much humour in the banter between Isame and her captors and the other characters they meet on their journey. One of the warriors, James however, is an outsider and has an agenda of his own which becomes clearer as the plot develops. Isame is particularly drawn to Remmie, one of the warriors, who treats her more kindly than the others and their budding and touching romance is central to this novel.

I particularly liked the heroine, Isame and her transformation from a young woman about to acquiesce to an arranged marriage to one who is thrust into the adventure she has always craved, finding that she prefers this life to the one that was mapped out for her in her village. Although at first she vows to escape her captors, she starts to befriend them and falls hard for the warrior Remmie, who in turn is attracted to her. Their sweet romance is a delight to read and the scenes between them are full of sexual tension and hidden desire. However, there are many obstacles in the way of a happy future, not least the oath of Remmie and the other warriors to their king to deliver Isame to him and the fact that Remmie is a Savage, a race feared and held in contempt by her own people. He has also been responsible for abducting her and along with the other warriors represents a threat to her family should she try to escape. Remmie, despite his fearsome appearance and initial behaviour, is a sweetie at heart however and I could not stop myself rooting for their HEA!

Also what does the king want with her? There is also the prophecy of a mysterious gypsy, linking Isame, who has always believed herself to be a regular girl with Faemell, the Fairy Isle. Isame begins to question this and wants to find out the truth.

By Force is a super, well-paced, romantic read, full of sexy warrior types (what more can a girl want?), containing action and adventure, mystery and suspense. It is a great start to a new series and the next instalment, By Choice, is in the pipeline. I recommend it to those who enjoy fantasy romance with a feisty heroine and an alpha male with a heart.

A copy of this novel was given to me free by the author for the purpose of a fair and honest review.

Fae are one of my favorite paranormal creatures and after seeing that stunning cover, I couldn't help myself. I wasn't expecting much from this book but the premise said five handsome fierce warriors so I hoped at-least it's going to be an entertaining read. By Force turned out to be a good read with enjoyable characters but it does have some flaws. I was also tiny teeny bit disappointed that this book doesn't have any fae creatures yet so I'm really hoping we have some in the next book.

The story is about Isame who always dreamed of freedom and adventure. She wanted to travel around the world but her dreams shatters when her parents decides to marry her to her best friend Henry whom she only likes as a friend. When Isame and her sister travels to the town, she gets the attention of five fierce handsome warriors who are called savages. On her way back to her home, the savages captures her claiming that she is someone special and they are ordered by the king to bring her to him. Isame always lead a normal life and she don't understand why the king wants her. Being in the hands of her captors, she endures assaults both physically and emotionally. But one of the young captor named Remmie captures her attention who is gentle and kind towards her more than the others. With each day passing, she tries to interact with her captors even though they are reluctant to talk with her but in time they finally give in. Though the savages eventually grew to like her, they can't fail their mission because it would be going against the king that would mean death for them and their families. Will the savages hand her over to the king or bring his wrath on them by going against him.

I liked Isame! She is strong headed and sweet character. Even though she's physically weak, she's mentally strong and doesn't give up easily. She's also quite protective of her family and her loved ones. Remmie is a complex character despite his hard edged appearance, he does have kind and soft personality. I liked the relationship between Isame and Remmie but I was little bit disturbed with Isame's Infatuation with Remmie and also her intimate thoughts of him at the beginning because she doesn't even know him well at that time. However, I enjoyed the slow burn romance between them which was filled with lots of tension and angst. The other warriors are hard to like at the start but as the story progressed I grew to like them as well and I would love to know more about them.

The plot is pretty good for an entertaining fantasy read but I was really hoping for more action and magic. Nonetheless, I enjoyed every minute of it. Apart from few draggy scenes, the story is mostly fast paced and told from Isame's POV. The writing is flawless and easy to understand. The world building is great. I liked the whole medieval setting with some magical elements and mystical creatures.

Overall, I liked it! Even though it wasn't mindblowingly amazing, it has good plot, setting and characters and I would definitely read the sequel.

Isame has resigned herself to her fate of an arranged marriage, despite her desire for a different life. Though she craves travel and adventure, she is bound to be the wife of a smith. After a strange encounter with a gypsy, she is kidnapped and taken on a long journey by a group of savages. They are taking her to their king for an unknown purpose.

Isame starts out as a likeable character. She is protective of her sister and level-headed. Unfortunately, her hormones get the better of her while she’s a captive to the savages, and she falls in lust with one of them. She eventually declares her love for him, but I do not see it this way. The rest of her actions led me to believe that her feelings are only those of a hormonal teenager. On three occasions, she finds herself in a sexual situation, only to come out of it with her virtue intact. As horny as this teen is, I just don’t believe it. Not to mention that Remmie, the man she is craving, is described as powerful, muscular, and all things manly. He doesn’t seem like the kind of guy a young maiden would resist in a romance novel. But this isn’t a romance (secondary plot only), it is an adventure.

The story is written first person, giving us the chance to see Isame’s strengths and weaknesses through her own eyes. She is deeply torn and feels guilty for befriending the men who have stolen her away from her family. That part is understandable, and lets face it, she is young and inexperienced. We all make mistakes. They do turn out to be somewhat honorable men, but a wiser woman would probably react differently to her situation. I suppose there is always Stockholm syndrome…

Of the minor characters, I think I admired Roland the most. He is a good sort of man, and I enjoyed his background more than any of the others. James, although incredibly evil, is certainly interesting. I have a fairly good idea what is going on with him, but I’d be interested to see how the author explains it in book two. I also loved it when the ship’s captain said the girl was either “crazy or stupid” because that is what I’d been thinking all along. I had to keep reminding myself that she is a teenager who has obviously led a very sheltered life. Though, I did still feel the urge to smack her on many occasions.

Despite the main character getting on my nerves from time to time, I did like her overall. The story is fast-paced and held my attention well. There is much more to the story, and I think I’d enjoy reading it.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
