OMG this book was incredible.. 5++++ Highly recommended *Spoiler Alert*
Wow! I don’t know where to start with this book.
This was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book of a series. I‘ve read other books by Ashley Christine and all the them are great! I love that each of her books (in series) can be read alone and as a whole series.
There are some books that stick with me for a while... This will be one of them. The story is a rollercoaster ride.. filled with drama, laughter, raw emotions, and hotness! I found myself saying “What”!! OMG !!! a lot in a good way. I didn’t want the story to end.
Max is a alpha male - a strong contractor by day but at night he is a stripper. For Max stripping was when he felt he didn't need to pretend..it was the one places he was able not think about his past. Maggie is a strong independent woman who knew at a young age that she didn’t want to be tied down to her town; which meant she had to walk away from her high school love.
It’s Maggie’s birthday and she see a blue eyed stripper who is delicious but he won’t give her the time of day.
As the story develops the author digs deep into the past of both main characters. She allows the readers to see vulnerability from Max’s POV; which is vital to understanding his character. This is uncommon in most romance books even when the male character is a tortured soul or there are reasons behind his arrogance. The author allows readers to see his vulnerability as part of the healing process not as a weakness and allows Maggie to be part of it. The author also reveals many shocking events throughout the story and gives readers the POV of both main characters. Also the chemistry between was Maggie and Max was hot! I can't wait to read the next book :)
