Kids don't judge a book by its cover 😗.
Nah honestly I wanted to read something fluffy and cute when I saw this book on NetGalley. So what did I do? Of course, I send a request 🙂. So what's the problem?
Well, this book was something very disappointing. The writing style wasn't for me. I read this book but it didn't give me feelings. You know giggling blushing frustrating feelings.
There was no chemistry and tension between our two main characters. What's worse than no chemistry? 😭
I couldn't connect to the characters. Yep, this was so annoying. The whole book felt like nothing.
Josie had so many inner monologs and it was annoying af. 😒 The dialogues between Leo and Josie were so messed up.
Let's talk about the worst thing 😃 Insta lust. Yep, you read it right. Ok maybe I should guess it by the title but nah I still can't get over the fact that she just broke up with her bf and the next majes out with a stranger. 😭
Omg not to forget, this book has a playlist! Oh no, I mean two playlists. Don't worry they appear in the second half of the book 💀.
All in all, I don't recommend this book. It was a disappointment.

As a travel lover, adventure seeker, I thought this would be a cute rom-com/chic lit read that had all the things.
In reality, this book was messy, heart break, lots of office drama/growth, and a crap boss. (Maybe it was my inner Emily Henry mind, or Jeneva Rose rom-com, but this one just wasn't cutting it for me).
There was a lot of fluff, cheating, lies, work drama, which I get it adds to the book and reasoning as to why the ending happens the way it does, but I just really didn't feel like I was caught up in a chic lit book, versus a real housewives episode/office drama.
At the end of the book, I just want to know what actually happens, instead of a cliff hanger.

This was a very cute book! I recently went to Rome, so it was really cool to know if a lot of the places mentioned in the book. However, it bothered me that a lot of the book was just Leo and Josie asking each other questions. It was cute, don’t get me wrong, but it was a little slow to me. It took me a while to get into it, but when I did I enjoyed it! A cute book and I’ll read the next to see what happens since I didn’t really like the ending.

I thought the premise of this book was cute and I was excited to pick it up and relive my trip to Rome, but other than a few mentions of some of the attractions, it didn't really immerse me in Rome.
Other than the location, I couldn't get past the writing. There were punctuation and grammatical errors that threw me off and I couldn't enjoy the read as much as I wanted to. I also didn't like the insta love and found the ending confusing.

Entschuldigung was ist das für ein Ende 😂😜🙌🏻. Ich war gerade so richtig im Flow für ein Happy End, da ist das Hörbuch zu Ende.
Ob Josi und Leo zueinander finden oder nicht kann ich euch somit auch nicht sagen, aber ich kann euch sagen das ich die Geschichte wirklich süß fand. Leo der Weltenbummler der die schüchterne Josi auf ihrer Komfortzone und somit mitten rein ins Leben lockt.
Ich mochte die ungezwungene Art wie Leo das Leben nimmt und musste immer wieder schmunzeln weil ich die Gedankengänge von Josi sehr gut verstehen konnte. Das sie im Laufe der Geschichte lernt sich selbst zu stärken und für sich einzustehen ist so schön und man sitz dran und denkt: Ja, go for it Girl.
An einigen Stellen fand ich zu oberthinking und ihm tatsächlich zu Übergriffe, dafür das die Beiden gerade mal 24 Stunden intensiv miteinander verbringen.
Ich bin sehr gespannt auf den zweiten Teil und kann euch diesen Teil sehr empfehlen 🥰

I found this to be a slow burn for sure, but overall thought it was super cute! The one aspect I struggled with was how Josie was so upset that she wouldn’t be seeing Leo again but yet didn’t want him to do what it took to be there for her, maybe a little too unbelievable and hypocritical for me?
I empathized with Josie with all the stuff she went through with her ex, I can imagine how that would be hard to deal with. And I also understand the struggles of dealing with crappy roommates as I have had them in the past, so I feel like I really related to her on some levels while I was reading. I love when I can relate to the FMC. I also would DIE to go back to Europe and Rome is on the top of my bucket list so I loved living vicariously through Josie while I was reading. Visualizing all the things I would love to do while in Rome, the food, the culture, the landscapes and scenery. Beautiful.
Overall, this was the perfect summer read. It was light and cute, the perfect romance you can read in one sitting while sipping on a cup of coffee out in the deck. I look forward to reading the next one in the series to see where the story takes us! I have a few things I’m hoping for.

Durch das niedlich gestaltete Cover und den Titel wurde ich auf das Buch aufmerksam. Dementsprechend habe ich mich gefreut, dass ich das Buch vor Erscheinen lesen durfte. An dieser Stelle noch einmal ein ganz herzliches Dankeschön an die Autorin für das mir gegenüber erbrachte Vertrauen und das zur Verfügung gestellte Rezensionsexemplar, dies beeinflusst meine Meinung jedoch nicht.
Da mir das Cover zuerst aufgefallen ist, möchte ich mich dazu auch als erstes äußern. Ich finde es schön gestaltet, mag das rosa als Hintergrund ausgewähöt wurde und die Schriftart. Dass beide Protagonist:innen abgebildet sind, finde ich immer schön bei Liebesgeschichten, außerdem wurde dafür DIE Schlüsselszene des Romans ausgewählt. Der Titel ist ebenfalls stimmig – für die äußere Gestaltung gibt es auf jeden Fall einen Daumen hoch.
Der Schreibstil war in Ordnung. Es war recht flüssig und verständlich formuliert, aber es gab auch nichts, was mir als außerordentlich positiv aufgefallen ist. Allerdings gab es an mehreren Stellen Wiederholungen, die für mich unnötig waren und ich als störend empfand. Ansonsten war das Buch ganz schön geschrieben, es hat mir gut gefallen, dass aus beiden Perspektiven erzählt wurde.
Doch worum geht es überhaupt? In "Just One Night In Rome" geht es um Josie, die, nachdem sie mit eigenen Augen gesehen hat, wie ihr Freund Jakob sie mit ihrer besten Freundin Sara betrügt nach Rom abhaut, um Abstand zu bekommen. Die meiste Zeit verbringt sie im Schlafsaal ihres Hostels, doch an ihrem letzten Abend lernt sie Leo kennen, der ihre ganze Welt auf den Kopf stellt. Das Problem: Er ist Chilene und die beiden trennen Welten – Werden sie sich wiedersehen und hat ihre Liebe eine Chance?
Der Einstieg hat mir ganz gut gefallen. Vor allem diese besagte eine Nacht in Rom fand ich wunderschön und ich bin einfach nur glücklich gewesen. Danach hat die Spannung für mich aber irgendwie ein wenig abgenommen. Ich habe mich selbst ab und an dabei erwischt, wie ich nachgeschaut habe, wie viele Seiten im Kapitel bzw. Leseabschnitt noch übrig sind, da mich das Geschehen nicht soo super interessiert hat. Grundsätzlich bin ich aber mit dem Verlauf der Geschichte und der Entwicklung von Josie zufrieden gewesen. Der Cliffhanger am Ende jedoch war sehr fies :D
Die Protagonist:innen Josie und Leo waren mir beide sympathisch. Sie sind sehr unterschiedlich und dennoch konnte ich mich in beide hineinversetzen und mitfühlen. Die Nebencharaktere spielen eine nicht so große Rolle, dennoch gab es da einige, die ich mochte: Lilli, Valentina und Ayla. Letztere ist eine non-binäre Person, ich fand es positiv, dass das in die Geschichte miteingebunden wurde, da so dazu beigetragen wird, dass die Diskriminierung diesen Menschen gegenüber verringert wird, da sie genauso normal sind wie alle anderen Geschlechter auch. Es gab dann aber auch noch einige Charaktere, die mir absolut gar nicht sympathisch waren: Sara, Jakob, Florentina und Daniel. Gerade bei Sara hätte ich so einige Male an die Decke gehen können, wie kann man nur so dreist und respektlos sein?
Fazit: Im Großen und Ganzen war es ein gutes Buch. Das bedeuten für mich drei Sterne auch. Ich würde bestimmte Kapitel auch noch einmal lesen, jedoch aber nicht das gesamte Buch. Deswegen hat es für mich auch nicht für die vier Sterne gereicht. Ich empfehle die Geschichte aber trotzdem weiter, da sie mich unterhalten hat und durchaus lesenswert ist. Gerade weil der Roman auch auf wahren Begebenheiten beruht, das hat mich an manchen Stellen auch noch mal mehr berührt. Dass jemand seine persönliche Liebesgeschichte als Grundlage für einen Roman nimmt, hatte ich bisher auch noch nicht, aber ich fand das total schön, gerade weil die Geschichte von Tiziana auch total erzählenswert ist! Da das Ende von Band 1 so fies ist, möchte ich gerne wissen, wie es mit Leland und Josie weitergeht, denn für mich ist ihre Geschichte noch lange nicht zu Ende erzählt!

I am stoked! I am left quite speechless as soon as I finished the book.
Spoiler alert! (Just in case some words slip but trust me, I’m trying my best not to!)
So how should I put it? Josefine, a woman, who recently experienced betrayal travelled to Rome to soul-search and to recover. Her accommodation during this travel was a shared bedroom space with other travelers. Since she focused mainly on her self-recovery, she has not dealt with nor had long conversations with any strangers - even those in her shared space.
Then, on the last day of the trip, Leland (Leo) strikes up a conversation with her, and eventually, they ‘clicked’. They spent the last hours they have together and had to go on separate ways at the end of their leisure trip. What comes after?
Reality. Reality happens. I admired how their separate lives were exquisitely described - Josefine in her job and Leo in his being a wanderlust - but also, their longing towards one another amidst doubts, fears, and second-guessing. I loved Leo so much for how he handles the Josefine-ness of Josefine. (Kind of reminds me of how Chandler is to Monica in FRIENDS)
We all know that LDR is a thing but it’s definitely not for all. What about Josefine and Leland? Can we even say that they are in a relationship? Or perhaps a “situationship”?

In many ways, this novel stressed me out but not particularly in a bad way. After catching her boyfriend cheating, Josefine goes on a trip to Italy where she meets Leland, a fellow roommate living in a hostel with her. The day before they’re to depart to their next destinations (him elsewhere and her back home) they embark on an adventure that lasts for only one night.
I have to say, while I was uncertain about the book when I first began reading, I found myself becoming more absorbed in its tale and soon found myself struggling to sneak in as much reading as possible between daily tasks. Very well written, in my opinion. The author captured the magic of the evening where Josefine and Leland talked, laughed, danced and ate the night away. It made me wish I could get on a plane somewhere and experience something similar.
I enjoyed the conflict afterwards, the disappointment and discontent in having to face reality when returning to life. Josefine’s reluctance was believable and entirely relatable - as was Leland’s determination to make things work. It was an enjoyable read and that ending absolutely killed me. Now I need to get my hands on the second book. I NEED to know what happened.

this was a cute, easy-to-read romance between two people who meet by chance and spend an eventful night together exploring the city of Rome. feelings develop, doubts are shared, and they begin to wonder if they can share more than one night together, or is this it for them?
I liked all the cultural components that came with the story. learning about the spanish steps in rome, the cultural differences between germany and chile, and the connections to italy was a really interesting part of the story that I didn’t expect! I also really enjoyed the depth of the characters. there was a lot of inner monologue happening with Josefina where we got to know about her family background, her people-pleasing tendency, and her previous relationship. the ending was also a great full-circle moment and I found myself smiling at the last sentence🤭
I just wish there was a BIT more depth to the characters. we got to learn a lot about a certain component of the character, and then the story would just move on. I wanted the story to explore it more and intertwine it into the plot! the dynamic between Josefine and Leo also felt more platonic than romantic, although I still appreciated their relationship for whatever it was! the story idea was overall great and engaging to read about.
I overall enjoyed this book and would reccomend for a low-stakes, easy-going romance filled with travel, wanderlust, and happenstance.

Received this from NetGalley. This is my first book I received from there. Below are my own thoughts.
I had a great time reading this book. This book gives me happy thoughts perhaps because it felt so unreal to happen. And yet, this does happen. It happen to the author. I can feel the connection and heart behind the whole story.
I wish I could be Josie and meet someone just one night in a travel destination and start a new friendship and maybe a new romance. This book ends up a cliffhanger so things are left up in the air. So excited for the next installment. I need to know does the romance work out and what may happen with Josie and her job as well.
I enjoyed learning about German, Chilean, and Italian culture. I also learned about hostel life which isn't common practice in USA. Being from America, I don't know much about South America and Europe The little tit bits were enjoyable. I can't wait for more of the fun loving adventurous Leland who happen to smitten with Josie. Josie reminds me of any real woman in the world. She doesn't have the perfect family life growing up and her heart was just broken. Yet, she still have to worry about work and life and ultimately, a chance at love.

I had a great time reading this book. This book gives me happy thoughts perhaps because it felt so unreal to happen. And yet, this does happen. It happen to the author. I can feel the connection and heart behind the whole story.
I wish I could be Josie and meet someone just one night in a travel destination and start a new friendship and maybe a new romance. This book ends up a cliffhanger so things are left up in the air. So excited for the next installment. I need to know does the romance work out and what may happen with Josie and her job as well.
I enjoyed learning about German, Chilean, and Italian culture. I also learned about hostel life which isn't common practice in USA. Being from America, I don't know much about South America and Europe The little tit bits were enjoyable. I can't wait for more of the fun loving adventurous Leland who happen to smitten with Josie. Josie reminds me of any real woman in the world. She doesn't have the perfect family life growing up and her heart was just broken. Yet, she still have to worry about work and life and ultimately, a chance at love.

I received this book as an ARC from Aria & Aries through NetGalley and this review is based on my own opinion.
After her ex boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend, Josie went on a spontanious holiday to Rome.
At daytime Josie wanders around Rome for a bit, but her evenings are mostly spent in her hostel room. A thing her roommates make fun of her for.
She isn't really enjoying her stay in Rome, until the last day, when she finally gets into a conversation with her roommate Leland, who then takes her on an adventure through the streets of Rome.
It's such a cute story which almost made me buy a plane ticket to Rome to go on my own adventure. I loved ever bit of the book and after that cliffhanger at the end I definitly need and can't wait for a sequel!

I don't really know what to feel about this book.
The only thing I look forward in a book is a strong, independent female. And let me tell you: she was too weak till 98%of the book. And Leo was weird UNTIL I READ HIS POV! After that he was just a cutie and I really liked him, always thought about her.
Though I don't think I liked reading SO many details, there were just too much and I had to keep skipping. But I loved the playlist!!

This is one of those books that I had a hard time putting down until I'm done. I truly enjoy the story and I want more. An easy and light read. I can relate to the main characters because the same scenario, with a different version, happened to me and hubby. Looking forward to book 2. :)

Das Cover zum Buch "Just one night in Rome" von Tiziana Olbrich trifft genau meinen Geschmack. Rosa Hintergrund, Josie und Leo schlicht gehalten illustriert mit dem weltbesten Eis.... Passt perfekt zur Geschichte.
Das Buch selbst ist gut verständlich und flüssig lesbar geschrieben. Die Charaktere sind sehr gut beschrieben, so dass man sich gut in die Personen hineinversetzen und auch die emotionalen Verbindungen spüren konnte. Ich hatte keine Mühe schnell in die Geschichte reinzufinden.
Inhaltlich war ich begeistert, zunächst verschlägt es Josie, flüchtend vor ihrem Ex und um ihre gescheiterte Beziehung zu verarbeiten, nach Rom. In einem Hostel vegetiert Josie vor sich hin und schaut sich die ein oder andere Sehenswürdigkeit an, bis sie am Tag vor Ihrer Heimreise von einem der Zimmergenossen zu einem Abenteuer eingeladen und "entführt" wird, welches ihr ganzes Leben verändern wird und die Heilung ihres Verlassenwerdens fördert.... Wird die Anziehung und die daraus wachsende Liebe zwischen den Beiden auch nach Rom Bestand haben.... Ich hoffe ja, aber das wird uns in diesem Band noch nicht verraten...
Mein Fazit: Eine tolle Sommerlektüre zum Mitfiebern und Mitfühlen

Das Buch hat mir wirklich total gut gefallen. Am besten hat mir gefallen, dass die Sorgen und Ängste der Protagonistin so real waren. Probleme wie diese sind in vielen Büchern oft unrealistisch dargestellt. In „Just one Night in Rome“, kann ich nahezu alle Überlegungen der beiden total nachvollziehen, was das Buch so echt wirken lässt. Das Setting von Rom und dem ersten Abend, an dem die beiden Protagonisten aufeinandertreffen, kam mir vor wie ein perfekter Traum. Ab ca. der Hälfte des Buches wird auch aus beiden Perspektiven erzählt, was ich vorher einwenig vermisst habe. Auch 2 Playlisten sind enthalten, die mitten im Buch vorkommen. 🎵🥰
Ich kann das Buch wirklich nur empfehlen, der Schreibstil hat es mir sehr einfach gemacht, das Buch innerhalb weniger Stunden zu lesen.
Da das Buch mit einem fiesen Cliffhanger endet, bin ich jetzt schon ziemlich gespannt auf den 2. Teil😍

Die Hauptprotagonistin ist Josie, die kürzlich von ihrem Freund mit ihrer besten Freundin betrogen wurde und nun den gemeinsam geplanten Urlaub alleine antritt. Die Reise geht nach Rom, wo sie in einen Mehrbettzimmer eines Hostels übernachtet. Dabei lernt sie viele verschiedene Menschen kennen. Kann sich aber durch die Beziehung mit dem Ex-Freund nicht auf den Urlaub einlassen.Bis sie am letzten Tag Leo kennenlernt und sich ihr ganzes Leben auf den Kopf stellt.
Mir hat der sommerliche Roman sehr gut gefallen. Durch den leichten und flüssigen Schreibstil bin ich gut ins Buch gekommen und konnte es am Ende gar nicht mehr weglegen. Die Charaktere sind toll beschrieben, sodass ich mich gut in die Personen hineinversetzen und mitfiebern konnte. Die Schauplätze haben den sommerlichen Flair gut rübergebracht.
Das war mein zweites Buch der Autorin und es hat mich wieder vollends abgeholt. Für mich eine klare Weiterempfehlung

“One Night in Rome” was a fun and cute read. Two travelers meet at a Hostel and have the best date ever in a matter of hours. Their lives change after just one night in Rome! 🤭 Some aspects I enjoyed were the talks of travel, meeting new people, and creating new adventures for yourself. I loved the character of Leland. He was an outgoing friendly globe throttler. He was also a great listener and sweet to Josefine. At first I did not like Josefine’s character too much as she came across as uptight and too controlling, but as the story progressed, we come to find she came to be this way because of her familial upbringing. There was good character development for her in the end.
Of course the book ended on a cliff hanger and I am quite curious to read “Just One More Adventure” because I need to know what happens to Leland and Josefine! 😊

Ich habe die Geschichte wirklich durchgesuchtet. Ich fand sie wirklich klasse. Vor allem das Setting und vor allem am Anfang in Rom fand ich toll. Da ich auch erst vor kurzem in Rom war, habe ich so ein paar Orte wieder besucht.
Die beiden Figuren fand ich sehr sympathisch, aber ich würde sie auf jeden Fall gern noch etwas näher kennenlernen. Was hoffentlich im Band 2 geschieht. Die Geschichte hatte auch ein sehr gemeines offenes Ende, wodurch ich jetzt eigentlich nur auf Band 2 warte. Der Schreibstil hat mir sehr gut gefallen und auch das Cover finde ich sehr süß.
Eine klare Leseempfehlung für jeden kleinen Weltenbummler

Nach den unvergesslichen 24 Stunden in Rom habe ich mich gefragt, wie es mir ergangen wäre und ich konnte mich daher gut in die Gefühlswelt von Josie hineinversetzen. Im Laufe der Geschichte merkt man sehr deutlich, dass sie eine Entwicklung durchmacht. Da sie anfangs noch eher naiv und lieb rüberkommt, übernimmt sie immer mehr und mehr die Kontrolle über ihr Leben. Der Exkurs in ihr Arbeitsleben hätte für mich auch noch etwas knapper ausfallen können, da ich bei der Geschichte mehr Reiseerlebnisse erwartet hätte. Diese haben leider für mich persönlich einen zu geringen Anteil ausgemacht.
Bei Leo bekommt man kleinere Einblicke, in seine Gedankenwelt (ca. 3 Kapitel aus seiner Perspektive), die mich persönlich überrascht haben. Seine Art war aufmerksam, abenteuerlich und er hat mich sehr neugierig gemacht. Ich hätte gerne noch mehr Einblicke in seine Europareise bekommen, die leider etwas zu kurz gekommen ist.

Pucha, mi experiencia con esta lectura fue en su mayoría "meh", lo que significa que no logré conectar con los personajes ni con sus conflictos en la historia. Primero pensé que esto ocurría por el poco contexto que se tenía de cada uno, sin embargo, en la segunda mitad de la historia SÍ se muestra un poco más de las vidas de los personajes (principalmente de Josie), y aún así no conecté con ellos.
Fuera de eso, y pese a que rara vez dejo un libro sin terminar, porque la curiosidad sobre lo que va a ocurrir es mayor que todo. Esta vez, eran pocas las ganas que tenía de continuar la lectura, al menos durante los primeros 2 tercios del libro. En fin, sí lo terminé, pero no me gustó tanto. Ahora, mis apreciaciones al respecto:
-Son chilena (de Chile), y aunque el co-protagonista, el interés amoroso es "chileno", no lo parece. Algunas de sus expresiones me parecieron forzadas. Y a ratos sentí que pudo ser de cualquier país de América Latina, y hubiera dado igual.
- Las inseguridades de la prota eran muchas, pero las olvidaba durante varias páginas cuando estaba con Leo, por arte de magia, y a solo horas de conocerlo.
-El instalove (amor instantáneo, o amor a primera vista) en la historia está intenso. Los personajes no alcanzan a conocerse ni 24 horas y ya se sienten sumamente atraídos el uno al otro (más Leo que Josie), uno de ellos incluso declara que si pierde el contacto con el otro, dejará pasar al amor de su vida... Era mucho drama para mí la verdad.
En fin, tiene sus cositas buenas el libro, está bien escrito, y las personalidades de los protagonistas sí son distintas cuando tienen sus POV de narración.
Recomiendo la historia solo si estás dispuesto a encontrarte en ella con exactamente lo mismo que promete el título, "Solo una noche en Roma".

From the cover and the title, I thought this romance book would be a fun summer read. Nothing too long or complicated but entertaining none the less. Unfortunately I was disappointed. The premise is that Josie is in Rome, alone, after discovering her boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend. She’s in a shared hostel room with a few odd ball roommates but one mystery man is in the bunk next to her. He introduces himself as Leo, a Chilean traveller who recruits Josie for a night of adventure around Rome before she goes home to Hanover, Germany. What I thought would be the plot of the majority of the book was actually only the first quarter. As to the rest of the book we mostly hear from Josie’s POV as she returns to work and faces her former best friend and the odd chapter from Leo who is still travelling whilst he attempts to dodge cheating on Josie. Although the two never formally got together.
There were many points where nothing really happened. I didn’t feel any connection to the characters and their actual interaction was limited to the small portion at the beginning and then through messages. There were many instances of grammatical or spelling errors which I overlooked mostly. Instead, I found there wasn’t much plot and the characters were fairly surface level. The discovery then that you have to read the second book, releasing in October 2023 was infuriating because it could have easily been a standalone romance, hopefully with more actual romance.
I think the idea of the two meeting, tackling the idea of a relationship from two countries would have been a good read but unfortunately it didn’t work.

Nachdem Josie ihren Freund mit ihrer besten Freundin erwischt hat, beschließt sie kurzerhand alleine nach Rom in den Urlaub zu fahren. Eigentlich ist das so gar nicht ihre Art und so fühlt sie sich in ihrem Hostel-Zimmer auch nicht sonderlich wohl. Bis sie eines Abends mit dem gut-aussehenden Chilenen Leo ins Gespräch kommt. Gemeinsam verbringen sie einen wunderschönen, letzten Abend in Rom. Immer wieder bringt Leo sie mit seinen tiefgründigen Fragen aus der Fassung und doch ist es einer der schönsten Abende, die sie je erlebt hat. Zwischen den beiden knistert es gewaltig, doch werden sie sich jemals wiedersehen? Immerhin trennt sie ein ganzer Ozean.
Das Buch startet nicht gerade voller guter Laune. Immerhin hat Josie so einiges durchgemacht und tut sich noch schwer damit klar zu kommen. Generell steckt in ihr eine große Angst. Sie hat Angst nicht genug zu sein und auch Angst ohne Plan durchs Leben zu gehen. Das scheint so gar nicht zu Leo’s Leichtigkeit zu passen. Und doch geben die beiden in meinen Augen ein schönes Paar ab. Das Buch ist voller Tiefgründigkeit und mit vielen, echten Gefühlen. Machmal ist man schon etwas genervt von Josie, die sich so furchtbar schwer tut aus ihrer Routine auszubrechen. Im nächsten Moment kann man sie aber auch wieder verstehen, denn für die meisten von uns wäre das keine leichte Sache. Am Ende ist irgendwie nicht viel passiert und doch hat man über das ein oder andere selbst nachgedacht.
Alles in allem ist es eine schöne Liebesgeschichte, die zeigt, dass auch „Erwachsene“ noch mit ihren Problemen zu kämpfen haben.

I received this book from NetGalley.
This book took a while to get into. Leo and Josie really spent a lot of time asking each other small talk questions, even though that's what Leo said he didn't want.
I'm not sure if it's because the book was translated or if it's an editing problem, but there are parts of the book where the English doesn't translate well and it's clumsy to read. I understand that Josie is German but she would presumably be thinking in German, so that should be correct. The same goes for Leo and Spaish.
It's frustrating that Josie is so upset about not getting to see Leo again and yet doesn't want him to come and see her, or go somewhere else with him. Wouldn't it just have been better to say goodbye at the airport and have no contact? Otherwise it's worse and also gives him false hope.
Josie has too many inner monologues in the story. For me, it's just a bit too much. Also, it's through one of these that we find out her greatest wish is to have a family - how is this her greatest wish but we're finding out about it 80% of the way into the story?
Apparently there is a second book and while I'd like to know what happens next, I'm not sure it's something I'd buy.

Plot twists; There were no plot twists and overall cute story line. Not much predictable
I thought i would love it. Then read some reviews and I was disappointed by them😅. But the story actually turned out pretty well and I'm writing this at 02.52 am and COULDN'T LEAVE IT to morning.
I also liked how they ended things between Sara and Josie, in all the books I read they always end bffs or sisters mad and broken to each other. But loved that in this book!
I think the author could improve with some cliches and long paragraphs because I literally skipped minimum 5 chapters if you add all my skips of long and unnecessary paragraphs.
And some cliche scenes were a little bit 🤏 predictable but that's okay! Loved the book! ♥
I can't wait for the second book! I would definitely read it if it is on NetGalley!
