When Mikhail Rossov and Gareth Gruffyd met Daisy Choe she was young, perfect in all ways and everything they both wanted in their lives. But they were soldiers, duty and honor above all. After a wild weekend they had to go back and serve their country, to keep everyone they knew and loved safe. But they never once stopped thinking about her or the emotions she alone could evoke within them both. Fiercely protective they would have done anything for her, but she seemed to just vanish without a trace.

One weekend changed her life completely, turning it on it’s ear and showing her just who she could trust and believe in. The men she’d given everything to, including her heart, disappeared and never contacted her again. But she had someone very important depending on her so she did what she had to do. What she never expected was to come face to face with them ten years later. Not that way, not with them looking so good and not because her daughter went looking for her daddies.

I actually gave this book 3.5 stars, but that doesn't seem to be an option here. This book was provided to me at no cost in exchange for an honest review. Please visit sslyblog.wordpress.com for more reviews.

This is a hard review to write, because I’m not honestly sure how much I like this book. I’ve been thinking about it for the past 24 hours since I’ve finished it. This is the first book in a new series, and I think I will enjoy the novels more and more….however, all this novel did was raise huge question marks in my mind, with very little resolution. I know that is the whole point of a cliff hanger, but it was almost as though this book should have been written as a prequel- the back story after the series had been developed.

Does that mean I didn’t like the book? No, on the contrary, the book was an enjoyable read- filled with action, misunderstandings, and some good loving scenes. However, you literally have no idea (or at least I don’t) where the story is going to go- who are the “bad guys,” if Penny hold some sort of secret, etc. I will definitely be reading the second book, mostly of piqued curiosity- I want to know what the heck is going on.

Anyway, to the story. Mikhail and Gareth spent their 48 leave ten years ago falling in love with Daisy Choe. They both thought they were unable to have kids (vasectomies, I think), so you can imagine their surprise when Honey turns up at their door ten years later claiming to be their child. Daisy has raised Honey in such a manner that she knows both men are her Daddy, and seems incredibly blasé about the whole two dads’ thing. All three adults are bundles of doubt, but still hold on to their love from all their years ago. So, here’s three people with very different upbringings, emotional responses, and world views, attempting to make something work that isn’t generally acceptable in society. I honestly am excited to see where the next book takes us.

4/5 flaming hearts for sensuality.

I could not suspend my belief with the child character, Honey....is she 5, 7 or 21? Never the 10 she is supposed to be... I just can't believe it!

Gareth run for the hills Daisy will never ever love you as much as she loves Mik and you will just end up being the glorified babysitter. And....What the heck is going on at the farm? what is up with Auntie Penny? What is up with the guy at the school let alone the bully and principal? Why are there so many side stories and why isn't anything resolved? HOW COME Honey knows how to manipulate every one and knows these terms like What man carries around a ten year old on his hip and has a tea party watching Disney movies but, can sit and think about manipulating every Adult in her world to get what she wants?

Arrrgggg....this was so frustrating and never ending.

Woah. So choppy and it jumps a lot.
Plus too, I feel as if the characterizations are unrealistic to be honest.

Such a disappointment. On my DNF shelf.
