A USA Today bestselling series! The complete boxed set of those crazy, loveable & infuriating Barker triplets! Includes Offside, Collide, Conceal and A Barker Family Christmas!
Offside:
When hockey phenom Billie-Jo Barker returns home and decides to play in the local Friday night hockey league, all hell breaks loose. Not because Billie's talent is in question, but because Billie is a woman. And though these are modern times, some of the local guys still have a problem letting a girl into their "men's club."
Soon, Billie is at the center of a small town battle of the sexes, with everyone choosing sides. Her sisters. The townsfolk. Her friends. And yet, the only person whose opinion she cares about doesn't seem to care much at all. Logan Forest, the man who broke her heart when she was eighteen and the man she now shares the bench with every Friday night.
She's got a lot to prove and though Billie Jo Barker scores on the ice, will this girl ever score with the man of her dreams?
Collide:
A second chance never looked so good...
Bobbi-Jo Barker has been in love with the wrong man for years. A man who doesn't fit into the perfect, controlled life she's created. A man who not only broke her heart but nearly destroyed her. So the fact that he's back in town shouldn't matter because he's all wrong for her, or so she thinks...
Shane Gallagher, prodigal son, ex-con, and all around hellion, has returned to the small town of New Waterford to mend fences and get his life back. What he doesn't count on are the feelings he still has for the one woman who can break him--the one woman who is totally wrong for him.
And yet, as Bobbi and Shane are thrown together and begin to navigate a life with each other in it, neither can deny the attraction they feel, or the emotions that come with it--the good and the bad. And so the question becomes... can these two damaged souls survive a second chance at love?
Conceal:
No one said going home would be easy...
Black sheep and all around trouble maker, Betty Jo Barker is back home and hoping for a do-over. Things are finally looking up until Beau Simon comes to town. The man pushes every button she owns and manages to awaken long dead emotions she'd rather leave buried. Beneath the surface she knows she's a wreck--her scars run deep--and she can't help but wonder, is Beau Simon the one who can fix her?
Beau Simon, the brightest star in Hollywood has come to New Waterford for one reason only. He's determined to have Betty Jo Barker star in his next film. He knows she's perfect for the part, but a past encounter might prove more than a little difficult to overcome. As Beau turns on the charm, hoping to win over this complicated woman, he realizes it won't be easy.
Only time will tell if what lies beneath can ever be overcome. Or if love can heal all...
A Barker Family Christmas:
Spending Christmas with the Barker triplets just might be the craziest idea ever…
Christmas in New Waterford might never be the same again. With Shane and Bobbi on the outs, Logan and Billie adjusting to sleepless nights and a baby who’s now mobile, things are bad enough. But with newly minted Hollywood superstar, Betty, planning a wedding in town, the potential for disaster is high.
Their gramps has been sidelined by a fall and their father is ailing, so can these triplets get it together—and more importantly—get along? Or will they kill each other before the turkey is served? It just might take a miracle for them to survive the holidays without any injuries. With Matt Hawkins and a Simon or two along for the ride, this Christmas will be full of tears, laughs, reflection—and if Betty has her way—a wedding.
USA Today bestselling author and 2015 RITA® winner JULIANA STONE fell in love with books in the fifth grade when her teacher introduced her to Tom Sawyer. A tomboy at heart, she splits her time between baseball, books, and music. When she’s not singing with her band, she’s thrilled to be writing young adult as well as adult contemporary romance—books that have garnered starred reviews from Publishers Weekly & Booklist—from somewhere in the wilds of Canada.
About two weeks ago, I finally gave in and replaced my iPad. It was the original iPad that my kids have long since inherited. This thing is filled to the hilt with games. Needless to say, it’s slow as molasses.
I decided to buy an early Christmas present for myself and picked up the iPad Air. It’s slight. Slim. Speedy. I’m in love. So the first thing I did after I set it up was to explore iBooks and all the freebies that are available – something that I never really did with my old iPad.
After I downloaded the requisite Classics, I explored some more and found some romance, paranormal, and even some Young Adult. Well this is how I found Juliana Stone.
The first book of the Barker Triplets got me hooked. I’ve always been a fan of sports and romance and Offside features a retired hockey player who had no choice, but to hang up her skates due to a concussion.
The second book, Collide is about the middle Barker, who used to be the other half of a twosome trouble. Years go by; life happens. She then reinvented herself and became the responsible adult that everyone wanted her to be. But when her ex-partner in crime comes back, she starts craving for the reckless things she used to do.
The third book, Conceal is about the most troubled Barker. A former supermodel who lived way too fast and had fallen with a resounding thud from the life she used to know. When a big shot Hollywood actor sets his sights on a has-been junkie, she can’t help but think that he’s got an ulterior motive…and he does.
It only took one book. One freaking book to fall in love with Stone’s characters and stories. Sure they are romance and slightly veering towards Erotica (okay, yes, it’s Erotica) but man, when you’re stuck in a reading rut, and you need something quick and dirty, Juliana Stone was the cure all for my slump.
Her characters have layers and personalities entirely their own. The male leads are hot and the sex even more so. But that’s not the only draw of Stone’s books. She’s got some depth to each and everyone’s stories: their father is losing his battle with symptoms of Alzheimer’s, but their grandfather is far from going senile. The heroes also has problems of their own that just made them a bit more real and less than perfect. And of course, the triplets.
Billie-Jo has always dealt with the sexist perception that women are not allowed to play professional hockey. So she took her talent to Sweden (they allow women to play in men’s league over there. Go Sweden!). But when she suffered a career-ending concussion, she had little choice but to go back to her hometown. Her book explores all the idiocy of men: sexist, chauvinist, no-girls-are-allowed-in-our-club attitude.
Bobbi-Jo didn’t have a choice but to stick around while her older and younger sister goes off and have the lives they’ve always wanted. She grew up and became a no non-sense practical girl who is willing to marry a man slightly more exciting than a rice cake. But when prodigal son, Shane Gallagher gets out of prison, she starts thinking about what was waiting for her after she marries a man for practical reasons. Yeah well. That’s no biggie, isn’t it? Why would you hang around a guy who doesn’t give you O? This one’s a no-brainer.
The third book, Betty-Jo’s story was one that I was dreading reading. Let’s just say that the woman gets around in the first two books…that is, that’s what Juliana wanted you to believe. Her story is heartbreaking and I think favourite among the three.
Sorry this has gone on too long. Just…just read them, will you?
A boxed set featuring the Barker triplets, each girl gets her own story. While they look alike they all have different personalities, they clash a lot, but god help anyone who dares to talk bad about them, that's when they present a united front. I enjoyed the three tales they are romantic with engaging characters, there's plenty of sexual chemistry going on as well. I wasn't so keen on the names as in Billie-Jo, Bobbi-Jo and Betty-Jo. I liked the three leading men they were all alpha but did have a vulnerable side. Overall this set is great value for money for readers who like romantic stories that are easy reading.
Awesome!!! The Barker Triplets!😍😱😂 And Their Sensual Romantic Love and 😘 Family's and Dramas😱!
WOW!!WOW!WOW!! Amazing Sexy!! Romance among Billie Jo, Bobbie Jo and Betty Jo and their respective Boyfriends. You will encounter laughter, sadness and intense drama throughout the triplets life changing endeavors! Living in a small town in which everyone knows your name and businesses😳 There are so me twists and turns from laughing to crying and just in awe🤗
Must read!!! I read this box set around eight years ago twice, and again the past few days. Felt like reading it for the first time 🤗😄!!!
The Barker Triples boxed set of three books dealing with all three Barker Triples. I just love each sister because I could relate to all three of them. I loved the relationships that each sister formed with each staring male character. All three books also keeps you up dated on the other sisters and their new lives.
These books are a great read and I know you would just love them. You can try out the first book Offside for FREE!!
I love books by Juliana Stone because they are filled with family, friends and steamy romance. Her characters are believable and easy to like and the stories are very well written.
Amazing stories they touch so many real life issues. And a families love that can help. I couldn’t stop reading wanting to know what would happen next.
Offside: Stone does a wonderful job of getting inside the heads of both Billie Jo and Logan. I like the way she makes internal observations almost like a conversation. It is like they are talking to themselves inside their heads and then the actual conversation interrupts the stream of consciousness. This technique made the book a delight to read and added a lot of humor. I laughed out loud reading one of the locker room scenes. I also liked the way Stone doesn't sugarcoat the down side to real life. People lose their jobs, some people are catty just because they can be, sexism is often accompanied by intimidation, and illness happens and has consequences. This is one of the first romance books I've read where the difficult relationship between sisters is a major plot point. All around a great read with likeable, complicated characters.
Collide: Complicated doesn't even begin to describe the relationship between Bobbi Jo Barker and Shane Gallagher, which is previewed a little in Offside. This second book in the trilogy picks up a few months after the first book. All the characters you came to love in book one are back, but with the focus on a different "twin." Stone is masterful at describing that consuming "bad boy" lust that most girls experience at some point. The problem is, Bobbi Jo never really got over it....and neither did Shane. But when something burns that hot, you can lose yourself in it and maybe that is even scarier when you aren't 18 anymore and have responsibilities.
Conceal: Betty Jo Barker is a girl on the edge. Her problems run so deep that I had a little bit of a difficult time understanding why Beau Simon was so enamored, especially since he was so rich and powerful and had the world at his feet. Of the three books, this one had the most angst, but also the least realism. Betty is truly damaged, hiding under a veneer of bad behavior and beauty. I felt some of her issues were glossed over, especially recovering from years of abusing drugs and alcohol. But you have to love her moxie.
Read book 1 and enjoyed so when I got chance to get the collection (reduced or free, can't recall now) I went for it!
So Billie's story was a bit of a recap. Returning hockey star Billie is met with open hostility by just about everyone. The men of New Waterford are a particularly nasty bunch and I would have had them up on hate crimes numerous times! Despite having secrets, Billie and Logan dance around their relationship, though Logan had a bigger hissy fit than was deserved I think. Billie needs a medal to have dealt with everyone - Logan, Bobbi, Seth and the hockey teams. Shane and Gramps seem like the only ones in her corner.
Bobbi is a very disturbed character and we start off with her jilting Gerry at the altar and then running into Shane at the bar where he is hiding from her wedding - convoluted much! Bobbi and Shane have secrets and whereas Billie's story had the hockey as a theme, this one is really about the characters. Bobbi and Shane dance around each other, finally hook up as a 'one off' (yeah, right like that was ever going to work!) then spend more time with each other and gradually the secrets of their pasts come out. This story I found the most intense, both Shane and Bobbi are not pretty characters and have mucked up in the past but come to realise they can have a decent future.
Betty is so fragile, holding onto her sanity by a thread and trying desperately to not be affected by the whispers made behind her back and the comments made to her face. There is a big secret she is hiding that drives exactly who she is and what she does. Beau is the big time Hollywood star, though I didn't warm to him he was OK and good for Betty. I wanted to know more about Matt actually.
The overriding theme is letting go of your (less than stellar) past and embracing the new person you are. The three girls eventually got to their understanding but not until uncomfortable truths and dramatic events have occurred (and Mick deserved so much more than he got). I would rate the stories 3*/4*/3*
Identical triplets Billie-Jo, Bobbi-Jo, and Betty Jo Barker may look alike but they very definitely each have their own personality. Billie-Jo is the “tom boy” a world class athlete trying to make it in a “mans world.”. Bobbi-Jo is the “late bloomer” she is smart and organized she just doesn’t know what she wants to do with it. Betty Jo is the “bad girl” who ran away to become a top model who then threw it all away with dangerous living.
Offside: Billie-Jo has won a couple of Olympic medals and played pro hockey in Sweden but injuries forced her out and now she is home trying to figure out what to do with the rest of her life. Hockey has been her life and she is good at it. If she wasn’t female she would’ve been playing in the NHL. So when she wants to join the Friday night mens league all heck breaks loose. And then there is team captain Logan Forrest the guy she has been in love with for what seems her whole life but who never seemed to see her as a female. Well he has no doubts now. Collide: Bobbi-Jo is about to marry the wrong man. Bobbi-Jo had this mad, passionate love with Shane Gallagher when she was younger and it went oh so wrong. Now she has grown up and is being responsible and doing what is right. She isn’t exactly happy but she had that and it crashed and burned. Now Shane is back and the flames are still there. Does she throw away respectability for a chance at happiness? Conceal: Betty Jo is home. Her modeling career has flamed out and she is home licking her wounds. She lets no one close. When superstar Beau Simon comes to town wanting Betty Jo to star in his new movie she is afraid. She has been hurt but maybe Beau can help her heal. I will admit I didn’t like Betty Jo very much in the first two books and through half of this one but by the end I ended up admiring her strength and fortitude. These books are sweet, fun and feisty.
Offside- Billie-Jo is one of the barker triplets. She was in the Olympics & played professional hockey in a men's league in Sweden, but was let go because of a concussion. Coming home to figure out what to do with her life and spend some time with her father, who has dementia, she gets more then she bargains for. The guy that she has had a crush on for years plays hockey on a men's drinking league & she wants to play. The guys are not very receptive to allowing a girl to play with them but Logan gives her the chance. It is a constant struggle to ignore the comments from the guys or the destruction of her stuff, but she does it for her love of the game. Will she come clean & tell Logan about her crush among other things...
Collide- Bobbie Jo is engaged to Gerald. She has left behind her bad girl image and is trying to be a good girl. Shane her long time love is back in town but she has stayed far away from him. He is trouble! But Bobbie can't go through with her wedding. She needs more out of life then Gerald...she needs Shane. Bit is he interested in making a go of it with her? Will the secrets of the past ruin any chances she has of being happy? among other things...
Conceal- Betty Jo is still home. The model is now clean from drugs and alcohol but still had a really bad attitude. When Beau Simon comes to town to pick up his bike all she wants to do is stay away from him. But he has other plans. He has a script that he has written and she is the only person he wants for the part. How can he convince her that he wants to be in a professional relationship with her? Does he want only a professional relationship with him? What is in their past that keeps drawing the two together? Will Betty Jo find happiness like her sisters?
This boxed set is a MUST READ! It has everything you could possibly want in a good series about triplet sisters. It has family drama, family heartache, family devotion, and most of all family love. It also has super hot men that fall for them and really hot love scenes. I found my emotions all over the place while reading this series, just like I would hope a good book would do. the books aren't sappy romance books, they actually portray the good and bad side of how some families are. The author made these stories very believable, heartbreaking and uplifting all at the same time. I guess one of the reasons I so connected with them is because while the sisters battle their own personal demons and love lives, they are also dealing with their Father having Alzheimer's Disease. Reading about their struggles with the disease reminded me of my Dad and his disease. Of all the diseases that can take our loved ones, I think this is the worse. living year after year with someone who has forgotten you and all you meant to each other is a HELL like no other. PLEASE do yourself a favor and read this series, you won't be disappointed.
How could triplets be more different? The hockey pro, the homemaker, and the hollywood starlet.
Fun read about life, love, and family, and how it is not always roses. Strong supporting characters add to the entertainment and help draw us all into the drama and lives of the family.
The author must have been a fan of the old Petticoat Junction series, as the heroins are Billy Jo, Betty Jo, and Bobby Jo (or maybe I am just showing my age)
The interaction between sisters is tense at best, while they struggle to define their roles in the family as they all return home to where it all began, and face the realities of how their choices affected each other from afar.
Sometimes zany, sometimes predictable, but always sexy.
Wow. I'm glad I didn't stop after the first or second book. The third was definitely the best. There were a couple of errors and I wish Beau and Betty had really had a talk about what he'd done and she'd forgiven him (I felt like she just kind of forgot about that after a while), but overall I liked all three books and I like how I kept discovering things with each new book.
This box set was awesome and a very emotional read for me. I loved the stories about the Barker Triplets. All the family drama and them finally finding love. I didn't know what to feel sometimes I laughed and sometimes I just wanted to cry. Love Tramps he was the glue and their dad too even though he's sick. Two Thumbs up!!! Would love to know what's up with the "Twin/Twins" joke.
