What if a member of your family was wreaking havoc on your life?
Julia loves Chance, her family's adolescent Golden Retriever. Her twelve-year-old daughter, Ashley, is devoted to him. Yet Chance is out of control: chasing cars, running away, jumping on everyone, digging, chewing; leaving a path of destruction in his wake.
When Chance is nearly hit by a car after bolting out the front door, Julia is at her wits' end. She and her husband break the news to Ashley that Chance has to go. Ashley can't bear the idea of Chance being sent to a new home, but what can she do to save him?
She fears it may take a miracle.
Stories in the Angel Paws series celebrate the unique bond between canines and humans with heartfelt, moving, and insightful tales for anyone who has ever loved a dog.
I loved this novel. I love cats and dogs and reading novels about them. These are probably more under the heading of novellas. But I don't mind whether novels are long or short - I just love reading. The novels I've read so far - three out of the nine novels are: 1.) Star Crossed, 2.) Hyde and Seek, and 3.) Chasing Chance - are beautiful. I love these sweet novels and the characters. They were so interesting. Star Crossed addresses Guide Dogs. I learned a lot about this very noble pursuit of training dogs to be guide dogs. I have admiration for those who choose to train dogs to assist people who need them. It has to be so difficult to give them up once they graduate and are ready to help others. Hyde and Seek is about training dogs to help search for people who are lost or missing. How amazing learning about this job is for the dog's person as well as the dog. Chasing Chance is a sweet story about a lovable dog, and Chance goes through some training also. I love all of these stories so much, and I look forward to reading the last 6 of them. I would even reread them because I enjoyed them so much. I recommend these books to anyone who loves dogs. These novellas are suitable for people of all ages. I hope Jordan Taylor writes more stories. I would definitely read them.
I have three cats presently but someday hope to have a Border Collie. Friends of mine breed and start the training process while they are young. I don't feel it would be fair to my mature cats to have to learn how to deal with a puppy. Someday I will have one. I love your writing g style also. Dianne
I was disappointed with this story, since it starts with a family willing to let their dog go somewhere else, who knows where to, just because he´s too energetic. The kind of attittude I despise on pet´s owners. But well, if you look at this book as a book for children, it´s ok. If you´re looking for an interesting and compelling story, dismiss it.
I liked that Chances young owner loved her dog enough to really try to learn to help him. The parents went out of there way to see that their daughter got the encouragement she needed. In the end the dog didn't win in the training part of the show. But the family worked together with Chance and they all were winners.
This story teaches that life and love doesn't have to be perfect! You never get rid of a family member even if it is a dog. With patience and training all dogs can be taught to fit into your life better. The love of a dog is so amazing that they are always trying for your approval and love.
This a great story for kids as well as adults to read. It shows you how to take responsibility for things and that if you want something bad enough you have to work at it. Even if you don't always win, to do your best and enjoy what your doing!
Loved this short story! Tell in love with chance.if you've ever had a golden retriever you know they all are like he is .some more some less.but it's rare you find a dumb one stubborn yes but unable to learn very few and far between.
I have now read 3 books by Jordan Taylor. So far all have been good short stories, but this one seemed lacking somehow. Seems better geared for young adolescents.
I had a Golden Retriever...champion confirmation, but he often found it difficult to keep all four paws on the ground! Chance had me going back and remembering my Buck, not sadly, nut with lots of s!miles!
It's amazing what animals do for our lives if we let them. Uncomplicated love with no strings attached. This story is a perfect example of that. This little short is so full of love and commitment that shows what can be accomplished through love and trust. I highly recommend this book for anyone that loves animals even if you don't have one.
as a person who has chased my dogs too many times I loved this book. I loved the way the girl stood up for her dog and worked really hard to train her dog so she could keep him
This is an excellent book. It gives the owner of disobedient and energetic pets the hope that they can channel the pet's energy to learning and becoming obedient. Loved this story!!!
