With this title, a reader would deduce it is a story about a male submissive's journey. While there is some submission by Ryan, it's rather messy. Ryan is a rich attorney who finds the woman of his dreams, Via. Via is an aspiring chef. The story starts with them meeting at a night club. It seems to start out well. It quickly devolves into a story where everything but the kitchen sink is thrown in. In addition, it doesn't make much sense.

First, why would a good looking, rich, high powered attorney have self-esteem problems? This doesn't really gel. The story gives a bit about how he "lost" his confidence but a reader needs to suspend their disbelief to buy it. Second, how is a woman who is a virgin at twenty-five so practiced at being a dominatrix? This may also cause a reader to raise their eyebrows. There are several examples of where situations defied logic. One could say, this is a fiction story. It's not supposed to be realistic. Personal preference for me, the book needs to make sense.

At the half way mark, this book is now torturous. The characters are shallow and annoying. Ryan turns into a pussy whipped boyfriend. Via turns into the stereotypical psychotic unreasonable girlfriend. Seriously, the man asks a woman to marry him; she turns him down. He then offers her a room of her own at his place instead. Why the hell is she pissed at him? If this is the kind of behaviour acceptable from a lover, then the guy gets what he deserves. Via need a strong whipping to get her back in line. Each little "miffed" temper tantrum she throws makes her less appealing. Ryan doesn't know if he's coming or going with her emotional blackmailing. Ryan, get a life; dump the bitch.

Added to this toxic relationship, suddenly there is a kidnapper and a mystery thrown in. Pick a genre and stick to it. Yes, there are writers who can merge the two - erotica and suspense. This book did not merge it well. It comes out of left field and it makes an already poorly constructed book worse. It would be better if Ms. Lea worked on her world building and focused on a single plot line. From there, she can enhance and add cohesive threads to make it richer. It is also recommended for more research into BDSM. From a BDSM perspective, either Ms. Lea is unable to translate it well into the written word, or her research and experimentation is minimal. This book would have been better without the BDSM. The BDSM is supposed to be the pivotal point, but it is lost in translation by the random story tangents.

DNF - The beginning of this book is about a guy deflowering the heroine! Not what I expect in a book about a male submissive.

The writing felt off. Hard to explain. That said had I read the acknowledgements first, I would have saved myself the pain of reading what I did.

A few exerts from the Acknowledgements.

My daughter, Viola. She is my main reason for the publication of this book. I want her to have pride in saying that her mommy writes books for a living (and she DID NOT need a man by her side to help her along the way!)

My ex-boyfriend for making me realise I deserve so much more than a man with a beer can glued to his hand. Thank you for tearing me down so I could build myself up stronger than ever!

For those of you who belived I would fail and land on my ass...I only have ONE thing to say to you. Na-na-na-boo-boo stick you head in the do-do? J

Not sure if the last part was supposed to be a joke, or a sign of the authors maturity. **shrugs

This was fab!

Ryan and Via, such a great couple, all the love and the bickering they shared! this had me laughing, smiling, cursing and crying !

They meet in a crowded nightclub in Vegas, where else! that's where all the good looking people party! Although for someone (Ryan) so dominant! he was a scaredy cat! She who is not always so sure of herself was determined to get her man! I so loved the initial meeting, full of intimidation, angst, even a bit of humour! plus being introduced by Ryan's brother Jason.

So begins the life destined to be Ryan and Via's.

They fall instantly in love with each other, starting with a spark filled dance, he convinced her to stay longer they had their first date, which went very well. After they go their separate ways the feelings they have for each other takes over ! Ryan goes back to being the bad-ass Lawyer in Seattle, Via goes back into her life in Aspen.

Their pranks start immediately, Via sets up a surprise after Ryan gets back home, the love they are sharing is beginning to get more intense, that they can soon not stay away from each other, Via moves into Ryan's home, intent on staying for a few days. Via hands Ryan contract, not realizing his past, but he quite happily hands over his man-card for the one woman he feels complete with.

We are not disappointed with the direction the book goes in! they are seriously hot in the bedroom, as well as in their daily lives. The wedding scene was oh so romantic, then thrilling, Oh family! who needs them! There honeymoon is full laughs and sex! They begin married life nicely, although not without drama! They both take turns in control of their bedroom antics.

Oh my word, what a cliffhanger! I really wasn't expecting that !

disappointed. This book just doesn't make sense. First of all this is not about a male submissive.
The woman is a virgin one minute and is a dominante the next chapter. ...
but he is one too.....euh !
one minute the guy is insecure. the next chapter he is an ex dominante.
they're childish unrealistic characters. why is there a stupid kidnapping and an undercover agent in the middle of this mess ?
and the part where he talks to his baby during sex is just creepy.
It is like the writer took one chapter from every bad romance (even the contract from fifty ), put it in a blender and vomit it on paper.

I can't write a better review than Book Addict . everything I thought reading the book is here and with better words .

I loved the real-life banter between this couple and the practical jokes Via played on Ryan. She is not someone you want to mess with. The sex is hot and the story keeps you turning pages.

I like that the author keeps both protagonists on an even playing field. I look forward to book 2.

Jennifer had a surprise for her master Ryan's graduation present. Jennifer invited Ashley to be a part of the gift. Ryan is at a bar in Los Vegas with his brother Jason, he has been staring at her for a long time. When he thinks that he looses sight of her she shows up at his table and told him that he had to dance with her for gawking at her for so long, she tells him that her name is Olivia and he introduced himself. Olivia is the first girl he danced with that has been able to keep up with him. While they were dancing Jason dragged information about her from a couple of her friends. Jason likes Olivia and he thinks that she can keep him in line. Ashley doesn't like the fact that Ryan asked Olivia to live with him. Will Ryan and Olivia be together?
Ryan is a retired Dom for five years, a very successful lawyer, loves to dance learned from his mother, he lives in Seattle. He has apartments in New York, California, Hawaii and Los Vegas. Olivia is full of surprises, she is also known as Olive and Via. She is 25, she is very stubborn, wants to start her own resturant. She has a degree in Culinary and Pastry Arts. Jason is Ryans brother, he has baffeling traits of an A list actor. Ashley is highschool sweet heart, it has been 10 years since they have seen or talked to each other. Jennifer is Ryan's ex- submissive, Jason's girlfriend. Tori is Olivia's friend. Leslie is Olivia's friend.. William and Sarah Rayner are Ryan's parents.
This story was very hard to put down, I wanted to know what happend next. This is my first book by Andie Lea and it most definietly will not be my last. I loved how well the characters were developed and the story line. This book is from Ryan's point of view.

I loved love loved this book. What happens when two dominates collide - Fireworks of course. Ms. Lea brings us the tale of Ryan and Via. Ryan is thunderstruck when he sees Via across a dance floor, his dominate side takes a bit of a back seat. Little does he know what he has gotten himself into. Via is a strong woman with dominate tendencies as well. They collide and fall insanely in love. The sex is hot and raw, the laughs are frequent, and the love they find is profound. Of course, no road to love goes smoothly and there is a wonderful mystery afoot. This will keep you turning the pages.

My only complaint - hot damn a major cliff hanger of an ending. I was left screaming and glad I had the next installment to read before insanity set in.

If you love spicy reads you will love this one.

Wonderful story! Ms. Lea - brings us the story of actually two dominates that find love. Ryan and Via are both dominates but when it comes to Via he is a putty! I find it funny that he is such a dip when it concerns Via - they see each other across a crowded room. And kablam!

It is a wonderfully told story! I laughed, I cried, I screamed bloody murder! And the end had me screaming at the Author! Even though I read them in reverse order. Which also ended with a WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTT!

I would recommend this to anyone who likes Erotic Romance. It's smoking hot!
