2.5 stars.

This started off really well. I mean there was literally a shocking death scene and then the synopsis promised such an exciting and thrilling read, I was hoping to love this! I mean, your boyfriend dies. Then there's this dude out there. Who looks. Just. Like him. And then you're dead boyfriend has been keeping secrets from you. Lying to you. You want to know what the fuck was going on. Who the fuck was your boyfriend?

Yeah sounds pretty awesome, but it wasn't !

⚫Like, the writing was really bad. It read a lot like middle grade to me?? and I'm not a big fan of middle grade (there are a few exceptions). The writing seemed really immature for 17(??) year olds and the way it read really didn't make anything feel thrilling, exciting or gave that 'edge of the seat' feeling when you read thrillers.

⚫The romance was really bad. There's gross and cringe worthy insta love that makes you question why you're alive.

⚫The side romance is the same

⚫The characters are so fvcking annoying??? Like, bye I don't like you.

⚫The ending really wasn't a huge shocker.

ΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠΠ

Well thank fuck, I finally finished this after fucking WEEKS. This book is really not the best thriller out there. The writing was immature for me and reads for tweens. I didn't like the writing. There was gross insta love and I didn't like it. The ending was unexpected, but not shocking. The romance can choke, it was so fucking unnessecary. This was not thrilling for me, literally goodbye.

Full RTC after exams.

A well written suspense that will satisfy lovers of the genre. The mystery is thought provoking. The idea that we all have a doppelganger is intriguing. What would you do if the boy you saw get hit by a car was resurrected in another boy only a short distance away? Morgan certainly uses her brain and not just reacting with her emotions. I loved that she was careful and cautious about dangerous situations. I hate when the protagonist runs off and does something stupid because they just know in their heart that it is the "right" thing to do. Morgan is circumspect, but she is still tenacious at getting to the truth. Evan, of course, is adorable (who can resist dimples?).

The mystery was a little easy to figure out, but I think that's because I have read way too many suspense novels. I still enjoyed it. Knowing what was coming did not lessen my enjoyment. It is hard to believe how quick the read is because it is a layered and complex story. The characters really draw you in and make you care. Even the secondary characters are well fleshed out.

Harrington really writes conversations well. I loved the interaction between Morgan and Toni. Their relationship seemed genuine and real - just how I would picture a best friend being in high school. There was no competition between the girls which was refreshing. I've read too many books where the girls compete for a boy's attention. This modeled a positive relationship and was really a joy to read.

I really liked this book, and I am definitely going to be looking up more titles by this author.

Secrets always reveal themselves.
Buen libro.

Read for the March reading challenge, Spring Clean Your Collection (Read books that have been on your shelf for at least 10 years.) with Fantasy Buddy Reads.

3.5 stars. Initially, I didn't realize this was a YA book, but I still ended up liking it. I liked the characters and I thought they were written more intelligent than a lot of YA characters I've read. Morgan mostly thinks things through instead of just running headfirst into things, and I liked that. There was only one time I was really questioning her judgment. I also enjoyed the relationship development between Morgan and Evan.

Overall, this book is a simple book. I thought the mystery was too easy to figure out. I was also expecting more suspense and more twists and turns than I got, but I enjoyed it anyway. I think this will probably appeal to most YA readers that are into mystery.

I really enjoyed this book up until about the halfway point. Then it just got irritating. There was so much potential here. Initially it seemed like the plot could go so many different ways. Big pharma coverup, government conspiracy, supernatural beings, mafia involvement, the possibilities were endless. I mean at the beginning we're given nothing but a really creepy setting and some random, very strange clues. I thought this was going to be really good. And then I kept reading, and reading and reading and reading, and nothing else all that interesting really happened. The one girl got attacked but we're still not given any clues about what's going on, we just know something is up. There wasn't enough information to keep me engaged. It got to the point where I just got bored and felt like giving up. Part of the fun of mystery/suspense is coming up with your own theories throughout the novel. This book didn't have enough material for that so by the end I didn't even really care what had happened. Which was good because the ending was super rushed and boring. All that creep factor and weirdness and the author went with the most obvious and boring conclusion. Which was revealed in one info dumpy chapter. It reminded me of a soap opera. Except soap operas actually have romantic plots and this just had one weird, awkward, insta-love, semi-relationship. And the tacked on bit about the best friend's older brother sending her parents the notes basically because he was throwing a fit like a little baby, was lame and really made no sense. Also what kind of freak sends ominous, threatening letters to family friends they've known all their lives, out of nowhere? And then as an after thought she asks him to stop and he's just like okay cool. And that's it? Disappointing and lame.

K. A. Harrington is a pseudonym for Kim Harrington. I've read her Clarity Duology a while back, and I remembered loving them dearly, so I was expecting another awesome story. This wasn't the case.

This is a mystery novel. And in a mystery novel, the mystery MUST be well-written Here, the mystery was much too simple, way too easy for the characters to solve. I like my mysteries to have multiple layers and to keep me guessing until end. I like my mysteries to have that 'BAM!' moment when the mystery is revealed. I didn't get any of that here.

At this point, I don't even care enough about Forget Me to write a proper review for it. So I'll keep it short.

The concept sounds interesting. There's a girl who's boyfriend is killed, but then there turns out to be another guy that looks exactly like her boyfriend that isn't dead. This is the sort of situation that someone would just HAVE to investigate.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. This is a very simple book. Sometimes I like simple books, but not if it's a mystery. Forget Me is a short book, at 275 pages, but that's not an excuse to have a poorly-written book. The sleuths just assumed something, and went from there. And guess what???? They were right! The assumption was correct. How unrealistic.

The main character, who's name I forgot is boring. Flynn, her dead boyfriend, was a dick to her, and the new romantic interest guy is also boring. I really have to reread Kim Harrington's previous books now, to see how my opinion of them has changed, or not changed. I wouldn't recommend this book for anyone.

A book written for the young adult reader with engaging characters and a mystery I found easy to get caught up in. Kind of reminded me of my Nancy Drew days.

OUaT's Review

I remember seeing the cover of this book last year and I loved the creepy vibe I got by just looking at it. It felt hunted. And I need to read it. When I saw the copy available on Edelweiss, I had to get it. Unfortunately, I was denied. Come upon this year, I see that Yara receives the copy and I immediately asked her to send it to me. Thank you, Yara - I freaking adored this book. I loved it to pieces.

I felt in love.

I was hooked.

Yes, hooked. This is the correct word to describe how I felt about this book. I was hooked within seconds of reading. I couldn’t put it down. At all. It was 10pm at night and I didn’t care. It demanded my full attention. I was on edge trying to put the puzzle together because that is what I do. But with the crazy plots and reveals, I decided to let it drive me to the madness and surprise me. It. Was. Worth. It. Ah, the suspense was incredible. When things were getting all crazy, I seriously had the chills. I had to hold my breath because I was freaking the hell out.

I love reading mystery books. But to be honest, in the Young Adult world, most of these lose its focus on the mystery and focus on the romance, or something else. The mystery is completely forgotten. Don’t get me wrong, I love romance novels, but when I want to read a mystery book, I want to read a mystery book. I want to break my head to come up with the correct answer. Anyways, Forget Me focuses on the mystery throughout the entire book. Freaking finally… and I loved every minute.

Forget Me begins when Morgan unexpectedly runs into Flynn, her mysterious boyfriend. Morgan is worry because Flynn looks anxious and asks him to open up. But Flynn has other things in mind and to keep her safe, he breaks up with her. Within seconds of breaking up with Morgan, Flynn is hit by a car. Crazy right? After months of his death, Morgan is unable to move on. Until one day Morgan’s best friend, Toni, encourage Morgan to post a picture of Flynn to a social media site as a step of moving on. With tagging software, Flynn is tagged as Evan, a guy that lives 3 hours from her town. The fact that Flynn is tagged is crazy because Flynn never liked Morgan posting any pictures of him while they dated. Not even one. He was very secretive. So why is this software tagging him as someone else? Why was Flynn so mysterious? Who is Evan? Is this the real “Flynn”? Did Flynn really get hit by accident or not? Was their relationship real? These are only few of the many questions Morgan thinks of and when she tries to investigate, she runs into serious danger.

Forget Me is full of secrets, revelations, and traps. Seriously, I loved it! Even thought I tend to try to come up with theories, I was glad I gave up with this one. I wouldn’t have guess right. I was completely off. It was too crazy to even think of such theory. Ah, I loved it. So yes, I cannot wait for the final copy because this is a must buy! And my friend, I highly recommend that you pick a copy as well!

I can't believe my first reaction to this prologue was wrong. This was an incredible mystery thriller. The reason I'm giving this book 4 stars is the insta-love.

Morgan Tulley is a teen student by day photographer at all other times. She's working on a portfolio to enter into a summer program. She is also a free lance photographer for the local paper. They pay her peanuts but its experience.

One day while taking pictures of an abandoned amusement park she meets a boy, Flynn Parkman. He is super mysterious and secretive, but they become inseparable for two months until the hit and run. Morgan is trying to move on but after 3 months she feels that she is still not ready. On the recommendation that it will help her with closure, her best friend Toni tells her to post a picture of Flynn online. After doing so the picture asks if she would like to tag this person Evan Murphy.

Who is Evan Murphy?

Once I got to this point in the book which is in the first chapter I was hooked. I had to know who this guy was and then the conspiracy started and clues were being discovered and sigh. Great mystery book. I did not pick up on anything that may have been mentioned at the beginning. I was so involved in what Morgan and Toni were uncovering that by the time we meet the villain of the book I was struck dumb. What the hell?

The author is also known as Kim Harrington and now I have to read her other works because I enjoyed this book so much :D

This wasn't what I was really expecting and of all the movies and books I've read, I wasn't all too surprised when the person who was behind it all the whole time by the time I got close to the end. so I guess you can say it became too predictable the closer I got to finishing this book. I was a bit surprised to know I was right but still felt like it lacked that excitement for me. Maybe I'm just not used to getting predictions right haha

This book was entertaining I'll admit and once I actually picked it up I couldn't put it down and kept me guessing throughout the story. Not that it was bad just something about it kinda lacked for me. Definitely not like AMAZING no, but it's worth reading at least once. I did end up just liking it and enjoyed it but not enough for 4 stars. But it's still worth the read at least. just not a reread for me.....

Forget Me was one of my favorite reads. I've never read a realistic fiction book like this one. It was a very emotional book. By the beginning, it was able to grasp my attention and I easily got pulled into the story. The story itself was amazing there was always something happening and it just kept you into the book constantly. I couldn't stop reading this book it was so good and I enjoyed it a lot. The story felt real and it made me feel like I was there. I would suggest this book to anyone because it was so amazing. Like I said it was a very emotional book because the story felt so real and made you a part of it.

One night, as she is driving, Morgan sees her mysterious boyfriend Flynn on the road. They fight in her car, and right after he breaks up with her and leaves, he’s hit by an SUV and dies at the hospital—or so Morgan is told.

Three months later, Morgan uploads a photo of Flynn to FriendShare and the site offers to tag the photo with the name “Evan Murphy.” Evan lives in a nearby town and looks exactly like Flynn. Did her boyfriend fake his own death? And if so, why?

The direction that Forget Me chose to take was unexpected, and that was a good thing. I was a little disappointed, however, that the “is he or isn’t he” question was answered fairly early in the book—I was ready to be strung along a bit longer. But there was still a lot of ground to (un)cover, so the early reveal was understandable.

Adulthood itself is a source of mystery to children and teenagers, so I am always a fan of books that examine how adult decisions impact the younger generation. Forget Me is no exception—it examines the aftermath of the downfall of a corporation that previously sustained a whole town. It also poses some interesting questions and shows how making the “right” choice can still have devastating consequences.

Forget Me also highlights the divide between adults and teenagers—if only the two groups trusted each other enough, they may have been able to solve the mystery sooner. But it’s up to the teenagers to discover those facts the adults aren’t so willing and trusting to share.

As the teenage protagonist, Morgan was serviceable, though not particularly noteworthy. It felt strange to hear that she fell so hard for Flynn after the little time they spent dating, but I suppose if their relationship had lasted any longer, it would strain credibility that she knew next to nothing about him. Morgan may not always be the brightest either—I would venture to guess that most readers will figure out her parents’ “secret” long before Morgan does.

Once we get to the end, the big reveals rely heavily on contrived circumstances; yet the stakes were high enough to make Forget Me memorable and heart-wrenching.

WOWOOWOWOW. Where is the HBO series for this?
From the moment I picked it up I was instantly transported to the haunting abandoned town of Littlefield. One of the few books that every single page brings something to the story. Not a single moment was wasted in this thrilling page turner.

Forget Me was a book I literally could not put down. This book hooked me in right from the very first page, and I had to know how it would all turn out. This book is filled to the brim with twists and turns that will have you reeling to know how it all turns out. This book does a fantastic job of creating a true mystery that you want to solve. While reading this book you'll be thinking of all the possibilities to explain it all, and let me tell you, you wont see half of this stuff coming.

Forget Me follows Morgan as she attempts to get over the sudden death of her boyfriend Flynn. Flynn was always a private person who kept to himself. When Morgan uploads a picture of him to a social network site, its facial recognition software wants her to tag someone who looks just the same as Flynn. This moment sends Morgan and her best friend Toni on a mission to figure out the mystery that is Flynn. Morgan's ready to figure out what in the world is going on. Is Flynn alive? Who in the hell is Evan Murphy, and why does he look just like Flynn? Why are her parents being so secretive about something?

Like I said before this book is full of twists and turns, many of which I did not see coming. Each chapter presents a piece to this puzzle, and by the end of this book you will dying to know how all those pieces fit together. This book also does a nice job of developing the secondary characters and their relationships, while still exploring the main plot of the story. The characters and the plot line of the story work extremely well together. I was very impressed with this book, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a whole lot of mystery balanced with some fantastic and highly engaging characters.

The concept behind this book is good. The mystery, however, is very predictable and really simple. The first chapter of this book really caught my attention and for me, that’s important because that’s where I decide if I will continue reading the book or not.

Forget Me started with a BAM. K.A. Harrington left her readers a lot of questions. What was Flynn doing outside? Who was he waiting? What was his secrets? Who hit him?! And 3 months after Flynn died Morgan uploaded a picture on a social networking site and BAM.. there’s Flynn but his name is Evan. Wait.. what?! See, the concept of this book is really interesting. Sadly, it didn’t leave up to it.

The characters were decent enough but not memorable. Morgan, the main character, there is nothing really remarkable about her. She’s your typical female character. Toni, her best friend, is your typical best friend. But I actually enjoyed her personality. I also like the fact that Morgan and Toni told each other every thing. Having this kind of friendship in a YA book is so rare (Maybe, I’m just reading the bad ones). Evan, the love interest, is your typical love interest. He’s hot, handsome, has amazing body, and oh my god he has dimples! Wow. So hot, right? *rolls eyes*

The mystery is very predictable and so simple. The explanation behind all of the things that happened in this book are unrealistic. The concept really fooled me. Forget Me is such a disappointment, to be honest.

Morgan and her boyfriend Flynn are driving to a party down an empty road and they get into an argument. Flynn gets out of the car and starts walking away, but he doesn't get very far because out of no where a car comes speeding down the road and hits him hard. Flynn dies and Morgan is devastated. A couple of months later Morgan and her best Friend Toni are on a website and find a profile of a guy named Even Murphy with a picture that looks exactly like Flynn. Is he still alive? Why would he lie to Morgan like that? Read to see the crazy things Morgan does to find out what happened and to see if Flynn really is alive. I love this book and think it would be a good book for anyone who likes a good mystery and drama story. I recommend this book to Elli W because I think she'll like the mystery in this book. If you liked the book When then you'll definitely like this book too. The whole time I read this book I just wanted to keep reading and see what was going to happen next!

I really, really like this book, I haven't read a mystery is some time, and this one was really good.

The reasons why I love it are:

1. It has a great end. It was sweet, funny, sad, angry... there were lots of emotions there plus it has gave me a book-hangover.
2. It has lots of funny moments, lovable moments, beside the fact that there was something really bad going on and all the secrets, there was some fun time, it is just how life is.
3. The characters are lovable, believable, memorable. I guess I love Flynn the most, he broke my heart.
4. The plot is compelling even though at times it was a bit slow. It was a simple plot but it kept you guessing.
5. And at last the outcome was a big surprise, I would have never guess it.

I haven't read other books written by this author but now I will be looking for them.

(I read this book as an ARC)

Wow wow wow this book had me at the edge of my bed all the way through. I'm not the most patient person so I finished this novel in two days. I wanted answers! Regardless as I got farther into the book, more and more questions began surfacing. Thankfully, Harrington does a very good job of tying together all lose ends in the last couple pages. Who would've thought there were so many secrets going on in the life of sixteen year old Morgan Tulley. Forget Me is a fantastic novel that keeps you guessing until the very end, I would definitely recommend it. Shout out to my English teacher for the great book recommendation.

It was fast-paced YA suspense novel.

The only complaint I have is that we got to see or know more of Flynn. Because it was he just died and Morgan really liked him. I wanted more interaction with him.

It was a little predictable, of how to piece together the family dynamics. Like how Flynn and Evan were going to be related to each other.

What is social media to you ? What do you find social media good for ? Today social media can have very many effects of people both positively and negatively. In my book "Forget me", social media plays a huge role in these teenagers lives when a girl Morgan's boyfriend Flynn suddenly dies from a hit and run. Later realizing that Flynn has an identical look alike, Morgan and her friend Toni are on a mission to figure out if this mysterious social media boy and Flynn have a connection to each other. While I was reading this book, I found it very interesting how the characters used societal issues that are happening today such as social media, friends, boyfriends, school and even family and how they used it to add more to this book. Today, I think it is very important to connect everyday life to a book, TV shows, or even plays that people can relate too so that it is very relatable. I enjoyed this book very much because it is about teenagers and everyday issues that we experience these days.

I'm going to be honest, I didn't expect to like this book as much as I did. I think it's because this isn't like your generic mystery. It's not really a "whodunit" mystery. Well, it is in a way, but there's so much more than that. Let me explain:

Morgan's ex-boyfriend Flynn dies in a hit and run. She comes across a guy named Evan who looks identical to Flynn. Morgan keeps seeing the black SUV that killed Flynn. Her parents are hiding something. Evan's family is hiding something. There's a corrupt company. There's just so many small conflicts that my brain didn't even know where to begin.

This book is so entertaining. I wasn't expecting it to be a book that I just couldn't put down. I was picking it up every time a TV commercial came on, just trying to race to the ending for the reveal. The mystery unfurls at a great pace, and there was never any annoying repetition like in so many mysteries nowadays. This book is only a little over 250 pages and it's packed full of action and this ominous mood the whole time.

I actually really liked the characters. Usually it's hard for me to feel attachment towards characters in books that aren't very long. However, I thought Morgan thought very rationally and was strong-willed. I also especially liked her friendship with Toni. I mean, this is really a book with a large theme of friendship. Toni was always, and I mean always, there to support Morgan through kind of scary things that she had to do to get to the bottom of things. I mean, Morgan shaves part of her head for Toni and the last sentence of this book is this:

"I'm your best friend. That's my job."

It's beautiful. There's too much hate with friendships between girls in books nowadays and it's refreshing and made me smile to see these two girls that had nothing but love for one another.

The only complaint I have is that the ending is kind of...weak. Compared to the rest of the book, at least. It's kind of like in The Girl on the Train. It's this reveal that just slaps you in the face and then it just ends. It's only a minor flaw though because I understand that there wasn't really any other way for the author to get the reveal across.

This might be The Most Unexpected Book That I Ended Up Liking. I really didn't think this book was going to be anything that would amaze me. The synopsis sounded intriguing but I thought I could already figure out what was going to happen. Although I might have guessed 10% of it, there's this crazy plot filled with mystery after mystery that begs to be read.

2.75 to 3 stars

The mystery-solving in Forget Me reminded me a lot of Scooby Doo and the gang. Once those meddling teenagers started snooping around they ruined everything.

The synopsis was pretty intriguing: Morgan's super-secretive boyfriend Flynn was killed in a hit and run accident 3 months ago. When she posts her only photo of him on a Facebook-like website it recommends she tag him as Evan Murphy. Not only does Evan live in the next town over but he's also a dead ringer for Flynn. Dun, dun, dun!

Morgan's sleuthing, along with gal pal Toni, Toni's brother Cooper, and Evan, moves right along at a quick pace. She never seems to run into any dead ends, their assumptions are almost always right, and the answers come easily. Not a lot in the way of mystery or suspense.

Forget Me was definitely more plot-driven than character-based. Morgan was a pretty forgettable protagonist and I never felt I knew much about her. She liked photography and was sad about her boyfriend. That's all I got. Other characters were just as one-dimensional: Toni, the peppy best friend/side kick, Reece, the douchey jock who morphs into a decent guy, and Evan, the perfect new love interest.

Between the mystery that was easily solved by a couple of pesky teens and the lack of characterization, Forget Me felt awfully lightweight. Younger teens may find enough here to truly engage them but older teens (and adults) will likely want more.

(Source: I own a copy of this book.)

This was a really good mystery story, and it kept me guessing ‘til the end!

Morgan was a girl who loved her friends and family and would do anything for them. I felt really sorry for her at having to witness her boyfriend’s murder, and then again as the book progressed and it seemed like everyone she loved was hiding something from her.

The storyline in this was pretty good, and it kept me guessing all the way through. There were so many different clues to what was going on, and we learned enough as the story progressed to keep me happy.
There was some romance, but I really did wonder how Morgan was going to introduce her new squeeze to her parents! (I can’t say any more because of spoilers)

The ending was pretty good, and I was glad that we got a happy ending. I really did enjoy this story overall, and I would definitely read another book by this author.
